The Brisbane Cricket Ground, commonly known as the Gabba, is a major sports stadium in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. The nickname Gabba derives from the suburb of Woolloongabba, in which it is located. Over the years, the Gabba has hosted athletics, Australian rules football, baseball, concerts, cricket, cycling, rugby league, rugby union, Association football and pony and greyhound racing. At present, it serves as the home ground for the Queensland Bulls in domestic cricket, the Brisbane Heat of the Big Bash League and Women's Big Bash League, and the Brisbane Lions of the Australian Football League. The Gabba will be the centrepiece of the 2032 Summer Olympics and will be upgraded for the games. Between 1993 and 2005, the Gabba was redeveloped in six stages at a cost of A$128,000,000. The dimensions of the playing field are now 170.6 metres (560 feet) (east-west) by 149.9 metres (492 feet) (north-south), to accommodate the playing of Australian rules football at elite level. The seating capacity of the ground was 42,000 in 2010, which has been reduced in recent times due to new electronic scoreboards and corporate facilities. For international cricket matches, the capacity is reduced to 36,000 due to new scoreboards and the addition of a pool deck, as well as wider sight screens.[5] For AFL matches the capacity is slightly larger at 37,478. The capacity will increase to 50,000 for the 2032 Olympics.

Great atmosphere. The T20 game watched was very exciting except for Brisbane missing out on getting the win. Looking forward to going to another match in the near future. Lots of entertainment and an amazing fireworks display. Which went for about 5 minutes. Plenty of mascots and dancers around the ground making sure everyone was excited. Easy to find correct seats with plenty of assistance from ushers. Good range of beers and food available. Scoreboard was easy to read containing stats on the match. Free public transport was provided when the match finished going to a range of locations.

Great ground with lots of memories. Beautiful green views and great atmosphere. Enough parking space near the stadium. Place to have food for kids and adults. Enough space for kids to play behind the pavilion. There are couple of shops to buy good food and souvenirs. Overall great experience. The club members launch is awesome with lots of facilities available. The view of the play is very clear and awesome. (Please like my review if it was helpful and suggest an edit if you would like me to change or update my review) thanks and have fun.

We went on a Saturday night when the Brisbane Broncos were playing at The Gabba because if the Women’s World Cup. I was BERY impressed. There were lots of food, drink and toilet facilities and the seating had a wonderful view of the stadium. When the game was over, the stadium emptied quickly. We parked about 800 metres away and that seemed ti be away from the traffic so that we could get away ok. The traffic was super compressed near the stadium and the public transport looked a little… challenging…

Went to the Gabba to watch the T20 - Australia v Ireland. My first time and getting there was very easy. Drive my car in Brisbane CBD and found a park. Walked to Ann street bust stop 14 and caught a bus to the Gabba. There was a guy there making sure you got the right bus. Got off found my gate number and I was shown my seat which was awesome. The craic was great. I really enjoyed the night. Getting home was even easier the buses lots of them pick you up and take you back to the city.

Great venue to watch sport. Can’t wait to see it after redevelopment for Olympics. A few good additions of bars it’s a real pity though when you pay expensive prices for food and beverage at the stadium that you don’t get an offering to make the experience “WOW” , with all of the local producers now, having a few areas to show them off would be appreciated by me and many others I feel. A international stage to show off the quality food and beverage. Food for thought

Some people winge about the Gabba, but I reckon it's terrific. Easy to get to via public transport (usually included in the ticket price). It's generally pretty quick to leave after the match. Staff have always been friendly and helpful if needed. Ok, the food and drinks are very overpriced but you generally go there for the sport, not to eat & drink. I've always enjoyed going to the footy or cricket at the Gabba and hope to continue to do so for many years to come.

I watched the big bash in the Gabba recently & the game itself & entertainment was enjoyable but the seats were pretty uncomfortable, then again you can't really expect much from seats where you sit flips up when you're not sitting on it. The food choices are VERY limited aswell, nothing really remotely healthy & only basic hot chips for vegetarian options. Beers are pretty exy at around $9+ but that's also pretty standard for those kind of events.

This was my first ever experience watching an Australian Rules Football game! I wanted to take one in to see the different sports culture compared to North American sports. It was actually very enjoyable and once I learned the rules it was quite fun to watch. I slap had the pleasure of seeing an unruly spectator run onto the field and get chased by the security! Hilarious It’s also quite the venue.

Always a great venue. The local area is slowly being cleaned up by emerging and existing small business and revitalised. BCC could do more in the area in regard to beautification projects and certainly upgrade the small amounts of green space available to locals without having to dive to neighbouring suburbs to use their park facilities. A great area for both the young and young at heart.

Woollongabbas worst kept secret: the Gabba is Queensland's premier AFL and Cricket ground. A large, inviting and accessible stadium, it's a good place for viewing sports as you'll almost always feel like you're a part of the action. Beware the crowds on either side of game nights/days - the migration shuts down huge numbers of streets if you're going nearby

  • Henri Knol

Watched the big bash heat vs stars, pretty decent venue. Drinks and food cost an arm and a leg, hopefully they soon bring payment options where you can pay with your kidney otherwise I don’t think I’ll be able to enjoy a cheeky beer. Met Andy Lee here however so that was a bit of a highlight. Is better than the scg so props to them for that

  • John Lobwein

Despite some criticism the Gabba ticks all the boxes. Good corporate facilities and not a bad seat on the house for your average punter. As with most stadiums the food and drink is over priced but what do you do? It’s not the staff’s fault. The new train to the city will only make things easier but not that hard to get in or out at present.

Attended AFL match after a pre-game drink at nearby German Club (nice choice of beers & German food). Easy entry to ground, stairs to first level with numerous food & drink options on Concourse level. Like most grounds, prices are relatively high. Great ground with all seats having great views. Public transport is available & free.

  • Ken Thompson

Easy to get to and also has disabled access. Free public transport to and from makes life a little easier. Getting home via the buses can be a little problematic, but all it takes is a little patience, which some people have. All in all apart from the outrageous prices for food and drinks it's a good place to visit.

  • David Milburn

Don't book seats on Level 4 unless you can walk up 60 steps to reach Level 4 and then more to get to your seat. The one lift has a stated capacity of 17 but the lift supervisor for the Lions Crows game was only allowing 4 people at a time. Not a user-friendly stadium if you have even minor health issues.

  • Parthkumar Lakhtariya

Great ground with lots of memories. Beautiful green views and great atmosphere. Plenty of food and drink stalls so you don't have to go too far. And lots of toilets to keep the lines down and back to the game ASAP.The staff were very helpful with directions both in and outside of the stadium.

  • Andy Tillo

Great football ground. Plenty of seating, great view from around the ground. Enjoyed being able to see my kids play auskick during the half time break of the aflw game. Plenty of facilities and food/drink available and at a reasonable price compared to other stadium's around Australia.

  • Martin

Gabba Stadium is a great sporting venues for Queenslanders located at the heart of Brisbane at Woolloongabba. İt is also the home venue for the Brisbane Lion Australian Football team. Capacity of the stadium is almost 42000. İt's also great to watch cricket games in the venue as well.

  • Madeleine Bromley

Excellent sporting venue-even with Covid distancing! Good food and beverage outlets. Great atmosphere easy to find entry points. Free public transport with ticket a bonus- lots of City bound shuttle busses outside venue after match and train station only a reasonable walk.

  • Suzanne Hamblyn

BBL Heat vs Melbourne Stars. Great seats, great entertainment including fireworks at half time. Fun night out, enjoyed by myself and family. Toilets were clean and food and drinks readily available which were very quick to get and back in our seat not missing the action.

  • Boon Hoe Chew

Brisbane Lions vs West Coast Eagles This is our family's first time visiting Gabba for AFL games. We enjoy the atmosphere and are seated on the supporter side with a great view. The toilet was clean, and the food was of good quality. Look like we will be back again.

  • Peter Schravemade

Took the family to the Big Bash! Awesome venue, great environment for the kids. You can see everything from just about every vantage point under the clear Brisbane Skies. Transport to and from is difficult. But hey you just gotta do this. Highly Recommended!

  • Lee Crane

Great place to watch a game of AFL or Cricket and to go and attend a game in the Corporate Rooms is a great experience as well as it nice to be in AirConditioning watching a game. We have also attended a concert here and it was great and very well organized.

  • Paul Cranch

Great venue to be in. Members stand the place to be but make sure you have a collar shirt and shoes. For a sell out game stand is not as crowded as other sporting venues. Getting to and from the venue was easy and well managed. Didn’t take long to get home.

  • Matt Arnold

Great cricket ground easily accessible from the Brisbane CBD district. Went to see England smash the kiwis and wasn’t disappointed! Easy public transport/e scooter access. Good views from all seats in the stadium. Beers are overpriced but that is expected.

  • Christine Andrews

I haven't been here in a few years. I was impressed by the number of restaurants and bars available. It was a good vibe for the cricket. We went to a game a few days before Christmas so there was a Santa running around and in the DJ box at one stage lol.

  • Luke K

Unforgettable afternoon at the Gabba! Lions vs. Eagles was pure football drama. Electric atmosphere fueled by passionate fans. Breathtaking skills on display. Impeccable stadium and friendly staff. Food options aplenty. A must for sports enthusiasts!

  • Brendan Berry

So much for social distancing.. They talk the talk but it is all BS after that. There were no gaps between seats anywhere in the area were we sat. I had someone rubbing up against me for the duration of the game. Money comes before safety obviously.

  • Tristan S

Been for AFL and Cricket. In AFL season advise to avoid the lower sections on the southern side (213-234). The stand here is too low and makes the game difficult to watch, particularly if not familiar with the sport. Otherwise a great ground.

  • Marc Busoli

Great venue. Mostly great views from every seat. You pay a Gabba Tax on anything you buy here of course so be prepared to be shocked at prices. Entry is quick through security and the place is well organised to deal with big crowds. Went to

  • Penny

Needs an overhaul or demolition. If Brisbane is to look respectable on the international scale come 2032, we need this project to go ahead. Goes without saying, given the oval, but a shocking venue to watch rugby league at …

  • Liam Crowe

Watched the Heat play at the Gabba new years day and it was an awesome experience. Food surprisingly good and not too expensive given its a stadium. Sat in the higher seating and it was a great view so would recommend

  • Andy Webster

First time attending an event there. Great venue, good choice of food and drink inside and around. Don't drive, as roads are a nightmare, as is parking. Nearest train station (choice of 3),all about 25mins walk away.

  • Simon Muirhead (Simon Muirhead)

Came up from the Gold Coast to watch the port v lions final as a port supporter and still had a few laughs with the brissie fans surrounding me. Really quick and easy to get into the ground and to your seats.

  • Holger Dehmelt

Great Stadium and Home of the Brisbane Lions, Footy (Australian Football). Yesterday evening my very first experience as a German for the match Brisbane Lions vs. Port Adelaide. What a match 80:69. Go Lions

  • Jerry Perera

Am from Melbourne attended my 1st ever BBL game at the Gabba last Thurs. What a great experience it was. Actually we all loved the GABBA why on earth do they want to knock it down?? It will be shame.

  • Jeepreid

Has the opportunity to attend a Corporate Box for an AFL game, the staff were amazing particularly John our concierge. I have attended in the stands as well and experienced the same level of service.

  • vishesh Kumar

  • Ale Garay

Love this stadium, its old school but full of charm. Staff is always very helpful. Great location, plenty of places around it to eat and have a drink. Plenty of transport alternatives as well.

  • Jacques Van Niekerk

One of the best stadium in Australia love the outside pub and food area's, awesome atmosphere only down side is food and drinks are extremely expensive …

  • Mehamood Hussain

Great international cricket ground within inner city pricints. Close to public transport. Train station will be opening soon. Public transport easily accessible and in close proximity.

  • froggystyle13

The prices are so expensive throughout all of their food and beverage facilities. Seats are too close to each other. Toilets are run down for what is meant to be a showpiece stadium.

  • Jason T

Seats could be nicer, but the hard plastic is what you expect from most stadiums. Great views of the whole field from most seats in the stadium. (Photo from section 437, row SS)

  • Susan ENNIS

Had a great time at the Broncos Roosters game loved our seats didnt like going down to toilets as steep stairs and not good on joints , couldnt use disabled as already in use

  • Mick Harrison

They sure know how to host a footy game. Smooth entry and exit from the AFL. As all these place, food is overpriced, but it's edible, so there's a plus. Staff were helpful.

  • Luke Duncan

What a well organised establishment. No huge line ups for anything. Straight in...fast service at all food and beverage stalls. alot of security and easy access to seats.

  • Adam Scott

A cracking Brisbane landmark If you haven’t already - check out a lions clash or a cricket match it’s honestly such a great experience. The ground still holds up today.

  • Alvin Thoran

We saw the BRONCOS play here and was a fairly good crowd. Drinks were a bit pricey but it seems everything is going up these days. Grace place to watch the match.

  • sagar gundecha

Corporate Box Seat is classic. Nice action view. Delicious food. Excellent customer service. Great venue to spend time with family and friends. Must visit.

  • Neville Lord

Here to see the broncos play The areas inside the stadium for food and drinks are good. Prices are high but you don’t go here every day so treat yourself

  • Ben Watson

Great night out for a Big Bash match. Awesome venue and getting to and from the Gabba was so easy with public transport included in the ticket price.

  • Jason Raso

First time here.. Watched BBL T20 with Brisbane v Hobart. Atmosphere was fantastic, with people in the crowd sometimes overshadowing the game.
