I usually never give reviews for restaurants, but I have to say that I was extremely disappointed with a dish I ordered at this one. First, the good part: I liked the ambience and the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. Now, about the food itself: 1. I ordered a chef special which was a prawn dish, made with mustard seeds and coconut curry. The dish had one chilli sign on it so I assumed it would be spicy. I also personally asked the waitress if it was spicy and she said yes, however they couldn’t make it spicier when I asked and told me they will give me green chillies on the side. I found this strange for an Indian restaurant where an Indian asks for the dish to have the spice level that an Indian would desire. Giving a few green chillies on the side is the not the same as making the dish more flavourful or spicy. I cook Indian often at home and I know this can be done. 2. The dish itself was not at all spicy! Not even a little bit. It had no flavor, was entirely made out of mustard seeds and the curry was even yellow in Color. And saltier than expected. The dish was served with rice and dal and some fried potatoes. At first I was impressed. But when I tasted the dal (which was white in Color), it had zero flavour and was made with whole cumin and not “kreuzkümmel” which are the cumin seeds that we actually use in India. So the dal had no flavour but a very strong cumin taste. The potatoes were simply fried potatoes but again, with no spice or flavour. The combination of the dal with the curry and potatoes was nothing like I would expect in an Indian restaurant, especially if the dish costs 22 euros, which is a high end price. Not to forget that the curry was salty. 3. When I told this to the waitress, she went to the chef and came back to tell me that the curry was salty because of the mustard seeds, and the apparent, non existent spice is supposed to come from the mustard Seeds as well. This was quite a strange explanation given to a customer who has ordered one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. The problem is that such a dish shouldn’t be there on the menu. And if it was, the waitress should have explained the “unique” flavour to me before I ordered. Eventually they did dilute the saltiness by simply adding more coconut milk. It still didn’t change the bland flavour of the dish, which is nothing I have eaten in India. 3. Eventually the chef came to me… not to apologize, but to again give me an explanation about the dish that it was made for “westerners” and that he knows better how to make the dish because he is from “that part of India” where it is made . I don’t know why he came to me if the only option I had was to agree. I eventually mentioned that the dish was misleading and the least they could do was to thoroughly explain the nature of the dish before someone ordered. I found this experience unpleasant. India has many different cultures and flavours, agreed, but it’s important to manage price and menu descriptions with expectations especially in a high end, pricey restaurant. 4. It was nice that they served us some dessert as compensation In the end, but Sadly it did not make up for the disappointment and price of the dish.

My review (after 2 visits) is quite contradictory to most reviews here : Ambience - interiors are Basic with 2 rooms with tables for two and four(tables are smaller in size and not comforting for sure ) Interiors Looks better when lit up after 9 pm , any time before that is kind of dark and uninviting . The outdoor seating with narrow wooden benches , is again difficult for accomodating 4 at one table. Service- Unpredictable and mostly not very efficient .Serving time was also variable in both visits. They often forgot to provide cutlery with food and its difficult to grab attention of the staff in busy hours. Food - I had high expectations after reading a lot of recommendations in Indian Facebook Groups but honestly i was majorly dissapointed. > Golgappa - some cubed potatoes with a sweet syrup which was far from anything i have tasted in India after having lived in different parts across India . ( i heard the chef is from Kolkata , but no clue where he picked up this recipe from). Well lets assume it's contemporary , hence different . > Rajkachori - taste was good , but the kachori was small and not well puffed. > Chicken 65 - could have been excellent but the Chef went too aggressive with Chilli powder , to the level that it was unconsumable. On complaining , we were told this is usually spicy ( unacceptable to indians , there is a difference between spicy and uncontrolled imbalanced used of chilli powder) > Prawn pepper Roast - Its a not a starter but served with curry and rice in a innovative look. Again there was way too much pepper than acceptable for a balanced flavour. The rice was dry and not fully cooked/refrigerated rice was served. >Fish roast - Thankfully this was roasted well , without the usage of excessive amount of anything. But nothing extraordinary to standout as a signature dish. > Chicken Tikka masala - Unfortunately this tasted something unlike Indian tikka masala. Not bad , but not close to the name.Had Lots of cumin for no good reason. >Prawn Thokku masala- Excess Salt, didnot like the recipe as well. > Biryani - We had this in multiple occassions. This is better than what usually Indian restaurants serve here and other things we had at this restaurant, however it can be more flavourful. The chicken is cooked to perfection and I loved the Raita. > Pistachio Kulfi Ice Cream - was Not impressive to us. > Dirty Mango lassi - It was good , but a little more flavour/taste of mango would do better . > Fresh Lime soda - they actually screwed up here. On complaining , sweet syrup and lime juice was separately provided to adjust according to our liking. Overall A fine tuning of the recipes should be done although the presentation and portion sizes are good enough. There is huge scope of improvement from the chef's part. We highly appreciated serving water to guests (as a part of Indian culture) and salted peanuts complementarily.

Very bad experience Lets start from beginning, i was very excited to visit this restaurant from 2-3 months as I heard good about this restaurant from my friends. I am free on Tuesday from work but this restaurant is closed on Tuesday so Today i took special leave from my work to visit this restaurant . I was there with my wife and my friend. When we entered in this restaurant i was to excited. Firstly i talk about service, Service- very bad and poor service. I never had this bad service . I tried almost all indian restaurants in berlin but i had never bad service like this . Firstly they took much time to take the order and after taking order , firstly we had starter that was ok but we have to wait almost 1 hour for our main course and after waiting 1 hour i went to the bar to remember them that we are waiting for food , the waitress who took our order may be she forgot our order , after that one waitress came and told us your food is preparing you had starter that why you food is getting late , Means who took 1 hour for main course after starter and after 1 hour they still preparing food , There was two table came after us and they had there food and paid the bill and went back to home but we still waiting for our food . After taking the order waitress never came on our table and ask that everything is fine we want something for Drink . No one came on our table . So very bad service very bad experience. Now come to the food , after waiting 1 hour finally our food came , i was excited to try food , but after tasting the food OMG , food was very spicy ️ Means after waiting 1 hour we got such spicy food . We are four and we can’t even finish two naan. We order raita that never came . If food was tasty I forgot about service but both things are bad . Overall very bad experience we will never come to this restaurant and never recommend to anyone. I regret that I wasted my day to eat in this restaurant better i went to work .

I regret having dinner at this restaurant tonight, especially on an occasion as special as Diwali. The experience has made me question the credibility of the reviews here as neither the food nor their service was upto the mark. I hate to bring up race and exclusion here but the contrast in the attitude of the employees towards their white patrons and their Indian patrons was so obvious, it left a bitter taste in my mouth and also gave me second-hand embarrassment. While we weren't even greeted with a smile on their faces, the servers paid so much attention to specific tables, it made us want to leave the restaurant but we had already placed our order. Coming to the food, our appetizers arrived about 15 minutes after we'd ordered them but it took forever (at least an hour) for our main course to be served. It seemed as if they'd forgotten our order altogether. The portion sizes were okay but that doesn't even matter as the food was subpar. The Chicken 65 hardly had any of the distinct flavours of curry leaves, ginger etc. The only discernible flavour was that of heaps of red chilli powder. The crispy corn was anything but crispy and the chicken tikka masala had no resemblance whatsoever to the British classic in terms of taste or appearance. As if these weren't disappointing enough, the Garlic naan was burnt in most places and the lime soda tasted like some weak lemon-flavoured water. The overall experience was such a let-down, we didn't even have the heart to ask for the Naan to be replaced. I mean, they wouldn't have paid any attentions to us Indians in any case.

1st visit (July 2023): Lovely staff and tasty food with indo chinese options. Had an amazing gol guppa (pani puri) to start with - loved that they kept it authentic without toning down the spice. We had veg hakka noodles for mains which was the reason for taking out one star - it tasted a little old but I'm not sure. Ended the meal with gulab jamuns that were perfect, a drink and masala chai - both excellent. Will definitely visit again! 2nd visit (Dec 2023): Amazing again. Gol guppa to start with again (best ones in Berlin so far). Had hyderabadi veg biryani (dum) and gobi manchurian for main. Both were excellent and recommended! Sunshine mocktail for drink and rasagulla to finish. All of these were perfect! Will visit again.

I was in Berlin for a night with my girlfriend, and we decided to look for an Indian restaurant. We both selected different restaurants, and I will be honest and say that The Indique was not my first choice. Luckily, I gave in, and we made a reservation (it seems this is recommended). The restaurant is decorated in a subdued but nice way, and the waitress was friendly. I appreciated the fact that we were not rushed at all, with the waitress first bringing us a drinks menu, taking our drinks order (they make a variety of great drinks), and then the food menu. Taking their time created a great atmosphere for us to talk and enjoy each other's company. When we were ordering our food, the waitress asked us a few questions to gauge our tolerance for spicy foods, and needless to say, my food was spiced perfectly. I had the Chicken Tikka Roll, which was fantastic. They also have good-tasting vegetarian options. Overall, I can only recommend a visit to The Indique and will be returning.

First of all, the food is fantastic. This is a very exciting addition to Berlin's Southern Asian food landscape and I'm all here for it. Judging by the two dishes I ordered for delivery (a veg Kathi roll and the Ghobi 65), which arrived via Uber Eats well packed and fresh, the whole menu is likely to be fantastic, even though I can only speak on behalf of some of the veg items on the menu. I must however say that it is too expensive. 11€ for a Kathi roll that's smaller than a medium sized Falafel rolled into a fresh Tannour bread, is just unreasonable, especially because it does not come with any sides but two small chutneys. Also the Ghobi 65, as tasty as it is, is after all deep fried cauliflower and should not cost as much as chicken. Therefore a deduction in points. In any way, I hope they will expand their vegan and vegetarian offerings and adjust prices, I look forward to eat there again!

Endlich gehobene indische Küche in Berlin.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Berlin. Their menu is very different from the rest of the restaurants and it's what makes it unique. They have a nice range of snacks, which I haven't seen at any other restaurant (something I crave a lot from time to time). Their best go to dish is Biryani. I would say their biryani is the best in Berlin, really authentic and tasty. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are planning for something different than regular Indian restaurants and craving some street food snacks or just a good biryani.

Chaat is authentic! I have been here twice and I was very impressed with the authentic taste in my first time. They ask you the level of spice and accordingly make it spicy. The chaat, Biryani and kaathi roll was really good. My second time was slightly disappointing, the Pani Puri was good but the other chicken and vegetarian dishes were ok. The naan was half burnt and asked them to replace it but they said the dough was over while I saw the other customers getting the naans after me. There was a huge group who were extremely noisy and the kids were running around everywhere. I could barely speak to my partner because they were so loud. I would suggest reserving a bigger groups in the inside or private area where they have their private space.

I ordered Paneer Tikka masala and it was the worst I have ever had in my life. From the looks of it, it looked like Shahi Paneer. However, if you ask me about taste, it tasted more like an Indian Kadhi (meaning a little bit sour). And the paneer cubes were not even close to 1% of what actual Paneer tastes like. Sorry but they made me fee pukish. The rice also was stale. I cook Indian food everyday, I know what is fresh and what isn’t. And 18€ for such a dish is not at all justifiable! The only thing I appreciated about this restaurant was “konstenlos Wasser, dienst und Snack”. If you are a vegetarian, you might wanna think twice. P.S. This review is not applicable for non-vegetarians

My wife puked everything after 2 hours of having dinner at you place on Diwali today. My own stomach is wonky. I feel sick. Details - -Got disrespectful treatment on Diwali. Made reservations, still was showed only few tables as available initially. Later another person gave us directions as we can sit on any empty table ! - Unfriendly staff. We were asked to move in between meal. - Food was very average. No flavor. - After placing the order it took 1 hour 20 mins for a Chicken Tikka masala to arrive to our table, to find it nothing like a tikka like I know. None of you could say happy Diwali to us ! I still wonder who is writing these good reviews for you ?

I really enjoyed this one! It seemed very authentic (gotta admit I never went to India). I shared two dishes with a friend, the Dorade and the paneer tikka masala with some Paratha and it was delicious! The Dorade took about 30 minutes to cook but we were told when we ordered. It was the perfect level of spicy (one chili in the menu ️) - I guess nothing for very spice-sensitive people though. So good, I forgot to take a photo of the fish.... Will definitely return!

It was rather a small and cute restaurant with a great Bollywood playlist playing in the background! Been there on a weekday for dinner and the place was not much crowded. Food was really good, but it is not easy to finish the chats without sharing. Delhi aloo chaat was tasty but can get really stuffed and feeling of lack of something new. It’s easy to finish it along with some other chat options in between. Prices were slightly on higher end. But hey, best part was it was probably my first Indian restaurant in Germany where they served us with water (and peanuts) while giving us the menu cards! That won my Indian heart ❤️

If you want to have Indo-Chinese, Indian street food, Hyderabadi biryani - this is the place to be. Their Manchurian and Noodles is a must try, you will not find authentic Indian flavoured Manchurian with gravy in any other Indian restaurent in the City. Another must try is their Ice-cream (specifically ask for ‘Kulfi with gulkand’ while ordering the ice-cream as Kulfi is very popular in India). Their gol-gappas are also good. Amazing ambience and very friendly owners, you would feel absolutely amazing while dining in this unique restaurant that doesn’t compromises on the quality and is like no other Indian restaurant in Berlin. Quickly making its way to the top of the list of people’s favorite Indian dine out places in the city.

After trying out at many Indian restaurants in Berlin ,I finally found the place for best biriyani. The sincere effort from the owners to attend each and every customer of theirs and the authenticity in their service and food this is now my most favorite Indian restaurant in Berlin. The only Indian restaurant who knows their Indian roots and serves their customer to make them feel like home. Only Indian restaurant where you are served with glass of water and roasted peanuts without even asking . Loved everything about this restaurant.I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants to try authentic Indian food. We are going to come back here with friends and family.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here! Food is great and the pani puri is out of this world! It comes in 2 different varieties, yoghurt and spiced water. The yoghurt one is really good but the water one knocked our socks off. We also tried the chicken tikka masala and paneer tikka masala. The paneer is of very good quality. You’ll realise that from the texture the moment you bite into it! The owners are very friendly and waiters are attentive. All in all, it’s a good place for good food and also for happy hour afterwards. The place fills up really quickly especially later in the evening, so make sure to go early or reserve a table

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Berlin. I'm from Mumbai, where I've had food for all over India, and it is very tough to recreate the taste of a Malabar curry with ingredients present here, but oh my God! Did they do good! I liked everything I tried there. It was a bit on the pricey end, but it was all so worth it. The service, the drinks, the ambience, and the food! There is nothing to complain about ! Save up a bit and definitely go here ♡

Absolute delight experience with food, loved all their food items (without question!). We had crispy corn as starters with beers, and lal Maas(lamb), daal Bukhara(makhani), and chicken biryani in the main course. Despite offering a limited menu, the flavors packed into each dish were truly outstanding which is reflected in their quality and authenticity. For me personally, the highlight was lal maas. And if you find prices little high, don’t worry their quantity and quality justifies it Highly recommend, must try place in Berlin, this is one of the best Indians experience in

Must go to Berlin. I finally found flavorful authentic Indian food food in this city, and I'm so happy. I got the special with chicken and beef legs, the meat fell off the bone, and the sauce was out of this world. My friend got the whole fish. It melted like butter and tasted so fresh. Fluffy rice and homemade naan is the perfect side. Sorry, the pictures don't do it justice. Amazing, I will be back.

Tasty, Unique & Elegant Recommended! Indique is a new Contemporary style Modern Indian Restaurant in Berlin. The menu is different from most of the Indian restaurants in Berlin and they are more focused on serving the diversified Indian food in a unique way. I have tried The Indique Fish Roast with Malabar porota and it was delicious. Also tried the special drink from Indique called Crazy Ambro. It’s a lime juice mixed with the real powder and it was amazing. If you like spicy, I would recommend it! Overall it was a good experience on my first visit. Good ambience, Nice service & Delicious food!

Amazing! The ambience is great and the staff is friendly and welcoming. They offered us water which was a first for me in any restaurant in Berlin. We ordered crispy corn, gobhi 65 and Indo Chinese platter that had veg Manchurian + hakka noodles. Corn was good, Gobhi 65 was okay. The noodles and Manchurian sauce were the stars of the show. Really delicious, had the spice level we expected from the dish ( we went for extra hot spicy). The prices are reasonable too. The best Indo Chinese I've had in Berlin. I have a feeling I'll keep coming back for more! :) Definitely recommend it!

We visited Indique last weekend for the first time and was really impressed with the quality and variety of food which Indique has to offer. Even their approach to customers is highly appreciated. After almost 5 years of stay in Germany, finally found an authentic Biriyani. We tried the Hyderabadi chicken biriyani which was an ultimate treat after years of search for that taste back home. And the variety of Chaats n Golguppa makes no exception in terms of taste and presentation. We would definitely recommend Indique for those are in search of that taste back home :)

We have ordered (lieferung) 3 dishes. Hakka Nudels are good. GOBI 65 are soggy and deep fried in old oil. By seeing reviews ordered Hyderabadi Dum Biryani but unfortunately rice is hard like served from the fridge or not cooked. To assume it got served directly after the dum or cooked fresh its not warm and worst part is there is start of stale smell like it was not cooked fresh. This is not just the first time this happened twice in a span of 2 days.

Went with my team there - I was told that foods there are really authentic. Indeed many foods are different from the look and taste from what you see in other “Indian” restaurants here in Germany. Tiny bit on the pricey side but if you have someone that can give you advice on what to order, you will enjoy it. One dish is called as Chicken 69 which was my favorite- spicy grilled/fried chicken pieces!

New Indian restaurant in town and a contender for the top spot. Forget everything you learned about Indian food from random Indian restaurants and get to know authentic flavors and textures. Overall amazing experience, with crispy corn starter which is great for snacking followed by beautifully spiced Chicken 56, the incredibly smooth Hyderabadi biryani and a Paneer Tikka with super rich flavor and texture. Top it off with Rasgulla or Gulab Jamun and one of the cocktails. Everything's fresh, great quality, great taste. Will definitely come back!

Highly recommend all their chaats and the Kolkata karara chicken. We loved the prawn thokku masala but were mildly disappointed that it wasn't spicy at all, after the server told us that we can ask to make it 'super hot'. I would also skip the malabar paratha, as it was a lachha paratha and not the authentic 'parotta' you get in Kerala. The naans ordered at the next table looked delish though The staff are friendly and go above and beyond to make you feel at ease.

Been hearing good about this place that it had some good Indian cuisine but I was sorely disappointed. The service was good and the seating decent but the portion size was abysmal and really felt not worth the price. Had ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Hyderabadi Biryani. Chicken Tikka Masala was serviceable and the portion of rice that came along with it was barely enough for one person. And let's just say the Hyderabadi Biryani was exactly Hyderabadi Biryani.

Modern Indian restaurant with great taste. Pros: Authentic Indian taste. Reasonable quantity it fills you very well. Staffs were very friendly and nice. Price is a bit on the higher end but it’s definitely worth the ambience and the quality of the food. Cons: Make sure to have a reservation before you visit because good restaurants like these are always full.

Great food..great people serving the food. There are vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Ofcourse the waiting time could be high (it was around 25 minutes atleast in our case). We ordered the paneer and chicken rolls which were very tasty but the highlight was the fish roast (I'm attaching a pic- sorry for a not so good pic), it was ofcourse not high on spices but I love fish and I would suggest this to other fish lovers.

The golgappa was really good and it was spicy, soft and crunchy at the same time and a rather rich taste. The papdi chat was the best I've ever tasted. It was crunchy, youghurty, rich and sweet taste. The paneer from paneer tikka was very soft and a little crunchy on the edges. It was also the best paneer tikka I've ever tasted. The Veg Manchuri was very soft and tangy. Also full of flavours. Together it was really really really good. If you want to eat authentic Indian food then this the place.

I have already been here twice, love the food here. The service is really quick. Food is made spicy as per request. Taste is very Indian and authentic. The owner and head chef both are extremely humble and make you feel very homely. I am sure to hangout here more often ;) Cost wise it is very reasonable. No negative points whatsoever :)

2 visits on consecutive weekends Love the food! Really warm and welcoming staff. Comfortable and well spaced seating. Must visit for some authentic Indian food with a contemporary presentation style. They have great variety of Indian food, from Kathi rolls, chaat, indo-chinese, biryani to really flavourful desserts. And some really refreshing flavours on the drinks side as well (cocktails & mocktails). A must have is Aloo Tikki from the Chaat menu! ❤️

  • Rahul Malhotra

Food quality is good, taste is very good, but quantity to price ratio is not optimal. Also we tried Delhi aloo chat and it was basically fried potatoes with mint chutney applied. Delhi aloo chat is supposed to be very different from this. Paneer Tikka masala was good but not worth the price tag! And they don't have beer on tap!

A fine dining experience with authentic Indian food. Unlike many other Indian restaurants Indique didn't blend the food for European taste buds. You get the real taste of Indian food. The portions are really big. 5 course meal for 2 person is highly recommended. They have around 60 people capacity indoor, and it's adviced to book a table, as during peak hours it gets busy. A highly recommend place to try genuine Indian food.

Lunch menu (Wed-Fri) were pretty much enough for 10 euro where a dish/ combo with dessert is served. Veg manchurian was little bit hard and Spice’s can be felt in your throat as you ask for But once you start your dessert (Rasgulla), you will forget the taste of the food you had earlier it just melts with perfect sweetness

The restaurant has been on our to do list for some time particularly for the reason, Biryani being on menu. Visited the place for early dinner and we were seated on a excellent table location. The door is really tasty and starters are superb. The biryani also was delicious. The staff is very helpful and guided us well in selection. Enjoyed the evening and dinner. Reaching this place is easy due to its location.

  • S Roy

Got the chicken biryani delivered. It arrived quickly. I was excited due to the reviews but it was underwhelming. I could have made that at home at a fraction of the price with some Shan spice mix. I can't compare to what it's like when you eat in the restaurant, but it felt thrown together.

Highly Recommended for the true Indian food experience. We tried their Indian street food (chaat, golguppas, aloo tikki) and kathi rolls previously and was amazed by the taste and flavours. We also tried their Chicken Dum Biryani was impressed by the flavours and authenticity. The staff is hospitable. The drink selection is also very good. A must visit Indian restaurant in Berlin..

Awesome ambiance, crafty decor and the most amazing Indian food in the heart of Berlin. By far one of the best Indian restaurants globally. The Indique fish roast was my personal favorite. Raj Kachori chaat, Crispy corn, Malabar prawns and Chicken 65 were also simply amazing. We liked it so much that we went there twice during our trip.

Unbelievable that you give just 2 pieces of chicken in the biryani. I feel guilty as an Indian paying so much for a biryani and eating just rice. And I'm sure I'm not the first person to have given this review to you.

We heard that their biryani was great and we wanted to give it a try. They promise to offer authentic hyderabadi dum biryani but instead served instant biryani which was prepared in a bowl while we waited for 30 mins. Raita was actually sweet n salty which is usually served with chat. It was very much disappointed.
