Highly disappointed. Upon our arrival, I was wearing an appropriate face covering. (One which I sell from my own business). The chap on the door stopped myself and asked if I had a face mask. To my dismay, I replied that this is a sufficient face covering and is fine according to the government guidelines. He proceeded to state that a face mask is needed. I'm quite surprised, given the current circumstances that staff aren't up to date with the rules. Im all for supporting fellow local business, however I will not be supporting this local again unfortunately.

This is a long old favorite pub of mine...Always good beer, great staff and also good banter...shows all sports, just ask.....also in Paul Heatons (beautiful south) #Favpub #top10pubs....also all draught is £1.99 a pint so really can't say more than that..an am on the Strongbow, Guinness is included of the offer too!!! happy days!! can not fault the place.

Nice tucked away traditional pub on edge of Withington village, pretty cheap for spirits and an interesting selection of beers. Usually very busy with student but there is often a good mix of locals too. Very big outside seating area with a bar if the main one is rammed.

Cosy vibe and friendly staff. We went here for the England game and so was obviously very busy, low ceilings and close atmosphere gave a buzzing feel to the place. Good pints, reasonably priced. Only down side is the lack of HD on some of the TVs. Definitely worth a visit if you're passing.

CHEAP BEER FRIENDLY STAFF QUICK SERVICE BECOMING A REGULAR THE ALL READY REGULARS ARE PLEASANT COMPANY TO BE AROUND. TV SHOULDN'T BE ALL ONE CHANNEL FOOTBALL RACING & RUGBY SHOULD BE ON EACH TV AT THE SAME TIME. STAFF SHOULD HAVE FULL CONTROL OF THE REMOTE CONTROLS AND NOT THE CUSTOMER'S

An oft-underrated traditional English pub - has a friendly and welcoming vibe, wide range of drinks and the staff are friendly, especially the blonde lady who served me last week. Drinkers are a nice combination of locals and sensible students. Great beer garden too!

Great traditional pub. It's a J. Holt pub so serves good pints at a good price. Shows most sports and has a good smoking area with an outdoor big screen. Also a dartboard if you're into that. Best boozer in Withington

Slightly out of the way, popular with the students and locals alike. Drinks are REALLY cheap considering where it's located. Pints for under £3 that's even without any discount! Live sports and a beer garden if Manchester weather ever gives a bit if sun.

Locals Manchester Holt's public House. Called in on a very hot afternoon, hoping to try new ipa. Only one cask on being Holt's bitter which was very poor quality. Busy with locals who seemed to be mainly drinking lager (I can see why!)

Brief visit which was ok smoking area had heat lamps nice and cosy but to small for the amount of people wanting to sit outside only few benches with tables at the side of the pub, great pub to have one drink and move on.

Excellent pub, cheap drinks, friendly bar staff and clientele, shows all sports all you need to do is ask! Got a beer garden, what more could you want? Karaoke on a Friday and quiz night on a Tuesday. Give it a go!

Very nice pub, went in with my friends lots of of us some from Ireland first time in myself it was the first time in 30 years well done the lady who served us pub was very clean too.

  • Philip Dobson

Good beer. Properly kept. I made the mistake of going in when it was Karaoke night and the stag party was well lubricated. Otherwise I'd have rated it as 6 stars.

  • Victoria Lane

Wonderful pub. Good mix of people which gives the place a buzz. Brilliant that you can get a pint of crystal for £2.70, possibly the cheapest pint in Withy?
