"The atmosphere was nice and pleasant, but the food was very disappointing"
I ordered a Veg breakfast today. When eating the spinach I noticed a brown item rather like a dried out raisin but larger. Called the waitress who apologised but did not know what it was. I asked her to find out ,at which point the plate was taken away. About 5minutes later I asked her again and she advised me that they were trying to work out what it was. Eventually I went up to the counter where they were still trying to figure it out. To my eye it looked like a lump of dried soil as when I cut into it it was crumbly. However I got the distinct impression that they were trying to imply that it wasn’t there when the plate of food was delivered to me. I explained that it was in the spinach at which point I was told they washed the spinach. I am feeling rather sick with the experience, a quick meal before an appointment turned into an unpleasant experience especially the attitude of the staff. Apart from the first waitress I spoke to who apologised for not knowing what the item was there was no apology at all. I would definitely not go to this cafe again and would urge anyone who eats there to check the food.

I've been frequenting this fairly new cafe since it opened. It first appealed to me because it's very spacious inside and much manoeuvrability, thus has much for my wheelchair which im in most of the time. It's very airy with a wood beam theme and wooden tables. All of which adds to the warm feeling of the place. The food is very good, tasty, and the portions are ample. I take my children here all the time, so I have no qualms in recommending this lovely cafe to everyone.

As I've said, it's great for wheelchairs and easy to access.
I used to go there quite regularly before the change of hands. Service was terrible (2 weeks ago) . Myself and other tables were waiting over 45mins for our food. We had to ask waitress to check for food and only then did she appear with food which was luke warm by the time it came to us. Food is nothing to write home about, just passable, it didn't help that it wasn't hot. Table next to mine complained to manager about long wait, she didn't really say anything except sorry for the lack lustre service. Because of our poor experience there I will not be retuning there. If the business owner is not careful they will be losing a lot of business to other cafes in the area. These are hard times and businesses such as this one need to take on-board all customer feedback if they want to survive.

Three of us went there for a quick lunch. Plenty of space, seemed clean and the staff friendly. The food was satisfactory although definitely gone downhill recently. However, the service was terrible. We ordered 3 different meals. The first meal came in good time; I waited about another 10minutes for my meal to be served. The third meal (jacket potato) was served 45minutes after ordering. Firstly, I think all 3 meals should be served at the same time; secondly, it shouldn’t take 45 minutes for a jacket potato, and third, there was no apology. I do think, they should have apologised and at least offered complimentary coffees or refunded the third meal. It’s an up market greasy spoon with poor service. We won’t be returning.,

The atmosphere was nice and pleasant, but the food was very disappointing. Our friend recommended this cafe, saying the food was good. However, when we were served our full English breakfast, the bread was cold and overly crispy, as if it had been left out for ages. The sausage was much smaller than expected, despite being described as a Cumberland sausage on the menu. The bacon was thick and delicious, but the fried eggs were of poor quality. The yolks were overcooked, and it seemed like they were cooked in batches, as they were all poorly cut, with some even being broken. It looks like it would be a nicer place for coffee and cake.

Like any eatery this place is a hit and miss, however my most recent visits, the customer service received by Front Of House team is very friendly and welcoming and the food served on this occasion was fresh, up to expected temperature and well presented. This location can get extremely busy. It is easily wheelchair accessible and plenty of room between the tables, providing a lot of room for any prams and pushchairs, which is fitting well with my need for that.

I just had a lovely veggie breakfast, and a hot chocolate made with Soya 'milk' was delicious. The best ever.

It is.
Nice place, spacious, clean and friendly staff. Ordered a chicken, avocado and bacon sandwich on white bread. Nice filling but the bread looked and tasted like the cheapest standard white load of bread. Really let the sandwich down. Please get some decent bread to serve these sandwiches on otherwise it's just a waste.

I’ve been in here a few times now - for takeaway coffee and also for a sit down cake and coffee with family. What makes this cafe stand out is the service. The staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. There is a really nice atmosphere and it’s a cafe I like to visit when I’m in Orpington. Helpful, smiley and attentive, , the staff should be proud of the atmosphere they create.

Used to be great value when it was Finch House and Fab House but some hot food not so good now (sorry), particularly jacket potatoes - some taste like they've sat around for hours and cheese can be over-microwaved & chewy. Having said that the ladies serving are absolutely fab, provide great service. Will still keep visiting tho as its spacious and clean.

Disappointing breakfast here, my Eggs Florentine were served with a salad which was decidedly odd with a peculiar tasting dressing. My husbands full English had very poor quality ingredients and we had to ask for butter, salt and pepper. Coffee was like dirty dish water.

We had an afternoon tea with friends - 7 of us. It was the right choice of a place, wonderful atmosphere and good service - Charlie, Chris and one more boy (do not know the name) made everything for us to feel comfortable. Plenty of sandwiches, pastries, cakes, no limitation on tea/coffee... Left absolutely happy.

Only complaint is the rise in prices. An amazing club sandwich, but I can't justify £10 for a high St shop in Orpington.

It's a great place to go if you've got buggy as lots of space. Staff are aways friendly. Food quality has gone downhill though since it was Fab House. Especially breakfasts and Croissants which are always well done/ burnt.

Stopped by for a sandwich which was tasty but didn't buy anything else due to it being very expensive for what it is. Sandwich was tasty but small, asked for sourdough as advertised and it wasnt. Basically just ended up with a small toasty.
Ordered the fab club sandwich which I usually get and they didn’t have white bread, then when it arrived the mayo chicken was missing so was sent back, I was offered a free drink but the coffee tasted burnt and not very nice and the syrup
Coffee is not so great, but everything else is great. The food, they make good desserts/ pasteries and have a good variety. Lovely customer service and very chill and spacious.

Staff did not appear to be interested in being there. Long wait for food with no explanation until we asked. Were then told they had no eggs so sent someone out. Had we been advised at the time of ordering, we
