It was very full whole day.when I went inside at 14:35 the one consultant was very unhelpful she locked the door and people were still outside.The one consultant also told me to come the next day as it's full even though I was there since eight o clock in the morning in the queue in the hot sun outside the mall.Consultants packed up it was past three.I didn't leave.There was one consultant he was very helpful and helped people very professional and quickly.I wish everyone there was so helpful It felt like they were more in a hurry to leave .It's very unprofessional and they are there to give a service to the community and are getting paid for it.I hope government will look into this and that the staff at the department of Labour in Middestad mall Belleville in Cape town start being more helpful and professional in doing there job and treat everyone with respect.

18/12/2014 08h00 lui ek na julle, n antwoord masjien se ek is nommer een op die lys en moet net wag vir die operateur. 08h12 antwoord die operateur en sy sit my deur na n ander persoon 08h15 na die musiek van strauss se waltse geluister en toe dit stop toe gaan die lyn ook dood. 08h15 skakel onmiddellik terug en die stem op die anderkant herhaal weer al die inligting en nou is ek vanaf nommer een na nommer vier op die waglys en ek wag en ek wag en ek wag nou nog. 08h30 toe skakel ek af anders sal ek sekerlik die hele dag gewag het. Almal is seker besig en ek besef daar is baie mense wat raad soek, maar n halfuur lank en jy skuif van nommer een af in die ry omdat dit te veel moeite is om n telefoon te antwoord. Diens vanaf nul tot tien? Beslis n dubbel nul voor die punt!

TLDR: Typical government department, don't even waste your time going down to their offices to claim for paternity leave, use your annual leave. Unfortunately the labor's department online portal doesn't cater for paternity leave so you have to go into their offices to claim. No covid-19 guidelines are followed on-site, and the queues are probably over 400 people. It stretches all around the mall (don't trust Google Maps when it says it's not that busy). It's not worth the effort (safety and health wise), rather make sure you have enough annual leave to use instead, as this government is not there to serve you. (even though you pay them on a monthly basis).

This does service does not even deserve any star..... - 0 service rating Customer service does not exist. Calls are dealt with unprofessional. Nobody gets back to you. Claims take more than 7x months to pay without receiving monthly payments as they should. Why must we pay uif..... It's your own money and they won't even give it to you, you only have to beg and plead and your queries become toilet paper. They say claims are paid but never pay it when you ask for proof they can't provide it. No initiative or management. SALLARY PUSHERS OF NOTE!!! No benefit for anybody unemployed thinking they will get help. To me this is just a scam from government!!!

My wife is currently waiting to be assisted, apparently the system is down, she's been there from 07:00, is now 09:33. She is there with our two kiddies as there was no other way. After 2 and a half hours one of the managers (Patrick) told my wife that our kiddies is not allowed to sit on the chairs as it's for clients.... Damn, don't know how to respond to that.... So 11:51 she was told that nothing was processed since she was there a month ago and again a week ago as they're waiting for confirmation of maternity leave 5 years ago... She was never asked for this info before... I'm so pissed off right now , paying for UIF is a scam....

I.m sitting here at dept of labour bellville since 10. Here is alot of people all over this place. I must say that allthough we waiting for hours to be helped and get out, the staff of the dept are very friendly and they treat u like humans. Most of them actually. U can stop anybody in the dept if u lost and they will stop and listen and tell u where to go or what to do. A negative that i have though.... get a system going to get people out asap. Lots of moms with babies sitting for hours and the infants gets restless by the minute. If u go to a goverment ficility , even early morning...please take ur lunch with.

I have never experienced such unprofessionalism ,unpleasantness,I would literally give them no stars…and because there was LoadShedding we stand in a long queue outside in the hot sun,went to the loo and in my absence people were given number tickets,come back I don’t have a ticket but there since very early morning and refused to help me just cos I had gone to the loo while they were giving these stupid tickets..this is unfair at it best and they are rude about it

Worst experience ever. Stood in the line for two days, no communication from officials. You have to walk up to hear the system is offline for two consecutive days, conveniently after 12:00. Staff bluntly told me if you're not there by 6am, you won't get help. Not to mention you have to que outside in the cold not knowing if you will be assisted or not. Staff have a nonchalant attitude. Do not recommend as no service is being rendered here. Two days of 8hrs wasted.

One stands in the queue outside as early as 5am, only to be told you must go and complete your continuation of benefits online. Online service is an inconvenience because one has to resubmit documents that were submitted at the branch. The service sucks at this branch and staff does not care. They don't work when there's load shedding and when there's no load shedding there's no movement. The telephone is not answered.

The worst service I ever experienced from any department. We were there from 6:30am to 15:15. Luckily I had 1 good person that attended to my issue, however everyone else else there treats you like dirt. They need to improve customer service, they need to hire people who like to deal with people and most of all, they need a quicker turnaround time for claims.

I came to Bellville on 7 December to hand in my documents to process as I have retired. I only received 1st payment on 7 March. Most horrific experience & very rude clerks !!!!!!!!! Am logging a complaints with ombudsmanas I am demanding an apology from the people I will point out by face.Still awaiting my 2nd payment signed 28 March.

During covid-19, no social distance, no clear communication, stand in a queue from 6am, until 16pm, people pushing in front, no queue management, directly in the sun. This is truly a terrible experience! An entire day waisted with no results, and high risk of getting infected. Online systems doesn't work..seriously horrendous

The worst labour department ever!!! Either the system is out or they have a leakage so they can’t fulfill their duties, every single day it’s the same story. They are meant to close at 16:00 but you get there at 2 P.M they will tell you they are closed. No sense of empathy at all. What is the government doing about this ?

1 star for this department. after 4 attempts of standing in queues on 4 separate occassions for the same thing, finally have been able to hand in my application. They give you a phone number to contact to see progress on the application, but NO ONE ANSWERS. What is the point of that - total waste of time!

For a government department, I must admit things run very smoothly. I suggest arriving from 12. Things are guieter and the line is not so long. Sometimes their systems are down but they still accommodate the public best they can. Easy parking outside. I am impressed with the service. Well done.

Very very very poor service...,these staff treat u like trash and have a attitude like they doing us a favour.They dont even deserve a star rating,they must fire all of them and appoint people to do the job accordingly.I guess all the goverment institutes are all the same,pooooor service.

Here we are in the queue to report ID and phone number. Everyone has to enter details on their form, as no government employee available. NO PENS NO SANITIZATION. Not surprised if people get infected, through someone else's neglect of duty and responsibility. Honestly pathetic.

Must have the worst goverment service you can get anywhere,they treat people rudely and take there own sweet time to help people standing in the lines.took me from the morning till past 3 to get helped and wasnt even in the building for 10mins and i was done.

No fireworks, we are dealing with people who don't all make time to even greet you with a smile, it is sad, but not only for government institutions, also happens in private sector retail stores, no pride in the job or customer service anymore

Applied in January 2022.After endless mails claim finalised and approved.went in April and today to submit form(sign).NO PAYMENT YET.Phoned UIF helpline and they confirmed claim finalised and approved. Must return to Bellville again tomorrow.

Long line and always busy sometimes system is offline they don't pick up the phone there is no communication between company and government the result is sending you back and forth to your ex employer which is irritating and upsetting.

Bellville branch you stand outside the mall then they come and collect pple in groups for different categories. You get helped but also not so helpfull. Still awaiting on my UIF since 7th month, and ghete is just no answer to why?

You phone the landline number that they referd you too, then you can't come through to them and when you get through your call never gets answered. They need to improve on this massively, because it's not right towards us.

For UIF applications we had to wait close to 35min with no assistance seems that the government need to hire people that are eager to work because everyone is just walking around instead of assisting us.
