This place has a good atmosphere and the staff are very nice. If you’re just wanting to hang out with friends and drink popular types of green & black tea, the only downsides to coming here are the tiny food menu and very limited street parking. Most of the times I tried to visit I had to just keep driving because there was nowhere to park. If you are serious about tea, or are interested in branching out and trying less popular teas, you will probably be disappointed. Their pricing model is not conducive at all to trying various teas, and you will be charged full price for a full cup of each. And if you are interested in less popular teas like white and pu’er, you might find like I did that the flavor is flat, stale, or funky, presumably due to poor storage or low quality sourcing. The staff are also not very knowledgeable about these types of teas and will likely brew them incorrectly. A gong fu service is offered, at an additional cost. They sell bags of bulk loose leaf tea, though they are on the pricey side compared to online sellers, and I would not trust their quality or that they had been stored correctly, for the reasons I mentioned

I have loved this place since I first started patronizing it at least 10 years ago! The experience here totally changed my perspective on tea. I don't live in SLC anymore but I try to stop in whenever I'm in town. On this visit I was there to enjoy some high quality tea and catch up with Amanda who has been working there off and on for years. She's so knowledgeable and cares a great deal about her customers and the products she serves (plus she's just a neat person). I highly recommend you chat with her if you get a chance. My favorites here are the lapsang suchong and genmaicha though this time I had an herbal tea as I was nursing a cold. I learned that all of their house blends are put together by a local homeopathic doctor which I thought was pretty cool. Lots of attention to detail here. I didn't eat anything but it was cool to see that almost everything Incorporated tea of some kind, including the baked goods. I'm sure they are delicious. Highly recommended for anyone who loves tea or wants to learn more about it.

I’m a tea person- picky about it and love it. I went after reading reviews and it was lovely! It was calm and cozy inside, lots of tables. The workers were really informative and got about 10 tea types out for me to smell to pick from. I ordered a laughing coyote and a sencha shortbread cookie. I also bought some loose leaf tea to take home with me. This is easy to order and sit (tea pot service) or to take it to go. Remember that steeping tea takes a few minutes, so it will be a few minutes before your tea is ready, but that makes it taste so much better than leaving a tea bag in!

I visited here with my family during our SLC trip. I love the ambience of the place, the whole setup is very welcoming and the background music is relaxing as well. The lady who ordered for us was super friendly, she answered all my questions about different types of tea, I like how they have a info guide for tea selection so you know what’s the ingredient for each tea. I chose “the healer”, the taste is very interesting, it has a fragrant aroma but tastes spicy. Based on what I read, it’s supposed to help you with your immune system, good for clearing up sinus and any sickness you have. Besides the tea, we also tried the matcha cake, I forgot the name but you can see it from the photo. It’s delicious!

Second time visiting this place. First time made me want to come back. Second time customer service experience was pretty bad I will not come back. (I ordered 7 carrot Bundt cakes and two tea pots for my group.) from the beginning the cashier looked annoyed. When we ordered the second refill for our tea this man had the audacity to roll his eyes for something I paid for and every time he came to our table to bring out order piece by piece he had a comment every time. This experience made me feel unwelcome. Disgusted by how we were treated! Definitely not coming here again!

one of my absolute favorites in SLC :) Really good value for tea and service and great place to gift shop as well! My only issue is with the food. The coconut curry soup is not salty at all. It has some flavors but really lacks depth and body so it’s not super satisfying Wish it was fattier like coconut milk, saltier, more flavorful, and not as watery. I guess you might like it if you like very light flavors. but I personally prefer heartier soups Great price though! Haha

Parking right in front can be hard to find, but there is more parking right across the street. I’m not usually a tea person, but this place has definitely changed my perspective. Cute little area with a “bar” and comfortable seating in a peaceful atmosphere. I had gotten the Amaretto tea and the service was friendly and quick. They were also nice to allow a refill of our tea. So delicious and the price was really good for what was being paid for. Also a nice selection of pots and cups to buy, hoping to return and get some possibly!

Love coming here to chat quietly with my partner. It's a low-key place to hang out and super relaxing. They have A LOT of tea. I love sweet and floral so Fig & Lavender is my go to. They are served in the cutest tea pots! Absolutely the best! Staff is always so kind and sweet! My partner loves anything Chai! He preferred the Masla Chai over the Golden Chai :) For both of us just to have a pot of tea each, it was about $11. It's super affordable! Definitely have a regular! They also sell cute teapots here ^.^

Lovely place with delicious tea and treats. A pot of tea was a nice amount to share with one other person over a conversation without any going to waste. Service was great as well. Will be back again! Only reason it’s not 5 stars: there is not much seating, and only a few of those seats are very comfortable. Most of the seats were taken up by people studying, working or reading and had clearly already finished their tea and goods. Wouldn’t be an issue if there was more seating, but this is also more of a customer issue than it is the businesses fault.

I went to this place for the first time today because I was craving Thai boba tea and I LOVED this find! As soon as you walk into tea grotto, you're met with a beautiful mix of aromatic tea scents and a friendly staff member. They have a pretty interior with cozy and stylish decor, and some nice private-feeling seating that is mostly hidden by the beautiful craft mug and tea pot display up front. I loved the boba tea, and I'm excited to come back and try more from their enormous tea menu!

The ambiance of The Tea Grotto is peaceful, cozy, and lovely. There are sweet smells, cozy corners and tables, and tasty teas. We shared the hummus plate and the savory apple plate, which were both especially delicious and refreshing. The person who helped us pick out our tea was hugely helpful and welcoming. Overall, a truly unique and serene place!

I love hip tea lounges! We stumbled across this spot on the way back from brunch. Stopped in just to check it out. It's cute! It's trendy! It's classy! They sell all kinds of loose leaf tea and tea accessories, including tea pots. You can also purchase tea and nibbles to consume while you're sitting in the cozy little secluded areas for customers, which would be perfect to do while reading or working on your personal device. We didn't get anything since we had just finished eating but I told them that I will be coming back.

A completely different experience from anywhere I've been and they have so many options to choose from! Thankfully the woman behind the counter was able to give me suggestions on what to order and I got "the bluest sky" tea with almond milk w/ agave. When the tea arrives you are asked to let it sit for about 5 min. because the tea is brewing in your cup! And the flavor was so calming and I was just at peace with this tea! Definitely a new and unique experience and I recommend to anyone to just git it a try.

Love love love this place. Not listing my fav tea because I worry about them running out if people catch wind of it, but their options are widely varied, high quality, and ethically sourced. The service is always great. The gal working the counter close to closing today helped the friend I brought find the tea she’s been searching for, and was very gracious when handling our limited understanding of teas. Haven’t tried the food myself but I hear it’s good.

This is my favorite tea shop in the valley! They are extremely knowledgeable about all the teas that they offer. They have amazing tea in a very pure form. I was impressed with the vast selection they offer. It is priced extremely well and anyone on a budget can get what they are looking for. The snacks were also delicious. Parking was a bit rough but we did go mid day on a Saturday. I would highly recommend this place to a friend. P.s. Try the dragon ball pearls and the Yogi.

Absolute wonderful store. The aroma when you first enter was incredible, the layout of the different tea accessories was very nice. I bought 300 grams of tea leaves and have been extremely satisfied with them for the price I paid. One of the teas that was suggested to me was a cooked pu’er. Really nice brew, especially for the price.

This tea place is super cute - perfect place for a casual date/meet up. It has a calming Thai meditation vibe that would make you want to stay for hours. I would recommend staying away from ordering a boba and order genuine tea products here though. Unfortunately their boba is just not really my cup of tea…

Had the loveliest experience here! Came with a friend and we got about 5 bags of loose leave tea (only cause they had TOO GOOD of a selection) and some tea to enjoy there. The Sweater Weather drink was delicious!! Definitely going to continue to go back there! Plus, the atmosphere was super relaxing! Loved the guy who was working there and he helped provide great suggestions on teas.

This is my all-time favorite place to get tea. Employees are always very friendly, the tea is amazing, the ambience and Vibe & Decor on the inside is great. I would highly recommend trying their edamame or potstickers, they go really well with a pot of tea :) 11/10 hint: if you like white teas, I would highly recommend Heavenly Berry

My daughter insisted me to go there with her...& what new can I say?! I was very pleasantly surprised by this place, so many tea selections!! We tried Deepest Blue Skies herbal tea and 2 different boba teas: Thai tea & mango flavors. Looking forward to try out more in the future. The interior deco was very cute also …

The customer service here was nice. I ordered three bubble teas and all of them tasted exceptional. The tea was made fresh as well as the boba. This little shop sells tea amenities cups and steepers. The design and internal look of the store is very abstract and rustic fancy.

My husband and I love coming here to restock our tea at home. They have an incredibly vast selection, but every single one we’ve tried so far, we’ve really loved. Great ambiance as well on the occasional times we also stopped in a bit longer to enjoy some tea on the spot
