The Travel Cafe is simply amazing. Our wedding planner introduced us to JD in 2019 when we initially started to plan our wedding. She recommended that we let the Travel Cafe handle accommodation arrangements at our wedding venue, especially for the guests coming from overseas - and we are immensely happy that we did! After we sent out our wedding invites, the Travel Cafe received an avalanche of emails for booking requests. They handled everything so professionally, dealt with millions of questions, as well as payments. It really took a lot of work off our shoulders. Then Covid happened and we had to postpone our wedding date. A very special thanks goes to how they communicated with the guests and handled all the Covid chaos, changes, questions, and refunds. They even helped with finding accommodation for my grandparents who came all the way from Germany to attend the wedding. They were staying in Camps Bay and the Travel Cafe went above and beyond to find a guest house with a German speaking host and a house that could accommodate my grandpa’s disability. This particular accommodation exceeded everyone’s expectations and left everyone impressed. On our wedding day, JD was there to welcome everyone, help with the check-in process, and we even got little gifts and flowers. I could go on about all they did to make sure everyone had the BEST time during their stay in South Africa - if you are ever looking for someone to help you plan a holiday / activities / accommodation bookings / recommendations, the Travel Cafe are simply the best. They are passionate, professional, personal and dedicated to making sure you have the very best time.

JD and his team organised the honeymoon of a lifetime for us. For first time visitors to the Maldives, it can be difficult making the final decision where to stay as there are so many resorts. JD recommended that we go to Baros and we are so so happy that we did. He organised everything, and made sure we arrived early in the morning and flew back late at night. From the moment we met our transfer at the airport we were completely blown away by the incredible service, attention to detail and genuine caring and hard working staff. The whole trip was just incredible from start to finish. From having your own hotel butler, to receiving cool refreshing face-towels upon arrival at dinner or lunch to being pampered by friendly staff wherever you go on the island. The island itself is incredibly beautiful. We were so lucky to see turtles, sharks, manta rays and much more. The water is as good as it looks in the pictures and the beaches are perfect. The food is absolutely delicious at all of the restaurants with the highlight being our dinner at the lighthouse. JD and Francois had even organised a surprise for us, which was a private sunset cruise on a typical Maldivian boat - complete with bubbly and tapas! We were just blown away. It was an out of this world experience and we wish to be fortunate enough to become repeat guests at Baros. THANK YOU JD, Francois and team, for organising an absolute dream honeymoon!

I'm very rarely speechless,but I'm speechless after this trip ! You know when you search for a trip of a lifetime and you hope one day it will happen well I can say dreams do come true. Being a female single traveler was a huge challenge for me as I was very nervous travelling alone all the way to South Africa with no idea what to expect. JD and Francois I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart for such perfect precise holiday, the planning that you guys put into this was just unbelievable. From the hotels,guest houses,lodges,to the restaurants,markets,shopping,to activities,micro-flight,kayaking,dolphins,walking,helicopter flights, birthday celebrations,safaris (seeing the big 5) to learning about the culture,donating with the townships, having WhatsApp as a point of contact,Ubers,guides and many many more was phenomenal. We just returned from the most wonderful one week minimoon Timbavati Game Reserve that JD and Valina put together for us. I wanted to surprise my husband with a trip of a lifetime, and JD exceeded our expectations on what this could be. We are avid travelers and have done several trips independently, but this goes down in our books as a major highlight because of the care, attention to detail and patience the Travel Cafe team provided. I have always dreamed of going to Namibia, but found planning the trip quite overwhelming and because I could only take one week off from my busy schedule for the trip I wanted to make sure I get it right. It’s not that easy to just “redo” it all. Francois and JD at The Travel Cafe worked very closely with my husband and me to find out what we wanted to see and experience on our trip, and then designed a holiday that checked all of our boxes - and many more. There is no way we would have been able to find some of the things that turned out to be the biggest highlights of our trip. Unless we spent days or weeks hunched over our computers researching the trip, but both of us are too busy for that. I was - almost literally - breathless when I saw our luxury camp in the middle of the Namibian desert under endless starry skies, and waking up with the sight of an Oryx just metres away. This was a true bucketlist trip for me, thank you so much François and JD for making that dream come true.

Met JD and Francois in Timbavati private game reserve, during our holiday in South-Africa. During one of the game drive they told us they have their own travel agency called 'The Travel Cafe Cape Town'. They asked if we wanted some tips for the rest of our travels. So we said: 'sure!'. From there on they helped us out so much. From activities to restaurant tips (they even made reservations for us, so we could get the best table available), got us a wonderfull route through the peninsula of Cape Town and tipped us an excellent paragliding pilot to cross that of our bucketlist. Also met them again in cape town for some drinks. It was great spending some time with them again! They brought so many extra to our holiday and made it something special. If you considering travelling to Africa, contact them! I'm sure it will be a holiday like no other.

I cannot recommend The Travel Cafe enough - I wish I could give more than 5 stars. My expectations were blown out of the water and I’m so glad to have worked with JD & his team. We traveled to South Africa for a friends wedding, so we spent some time in Cape Town, wine country, and then to Kruger for a Safari. All of the accommodations were top notch as well as the activities/excursions we did. JD & team were super professional with great communication, which made our travels experience seamless and easy. It was so nice to have everything expertly planned out for us and to not have to worry about a thing, which let us relax and have an amazing time! We had an absolutely unique and memorable experience in South Africa thanks to the care and passionate attention to detail the team at The Travel Cafe Cape Town delivered in the way they put our dream holiday together. They organised an outstanding itinerary ticking all our boxes and requirements, every thing booked perfectly but with the ability to optimise (i.e. change :-) our activities to suit the weather, our wishes or new requirements. They use a clever little App that guided and supported us during the 2.5 weeks of travel in their beautiful country but were on hand at any time to answer questions or help us with our needs. The Travel Cafe planned an amazing South African holiday for us. They listened carefully to what we like and worked around our budget and our needs (we were travelling with a toddler). Our final itinerary included Cape Town, a safari, the wine lands and the garden route. They gave us a brilliant personalised document with driving times, restaurant tips and highlights to see en route. We hope to come back soon and explore all of the tips we didn't have time for! We don't usually use a travel agent as we are quite hard to please but JD and Francois took the time to get to know us and provided multiple options for us to choose from. They also went out of their way to organise the return of a sentimental item I foolishly left in one of the hotels. I thoroughly recommend their service to anyone travelling to SA.

Excellent in all aspects. I booked three activities with The Travel Cafe to try and get the most out of my week, which I certainly did. Francois responded to all of my queries quickly and knowledgeably, which made booking easy. The Peninsula Tour and Hop on Bus were both excellent things to do and great value for money, and though my kayaking had to be cancelled due to safety concerns, I received a refund in person the same day and still had a great day climbing Table Mountain - and great night, thanks to the range of bar and restaurant recommendations Francois included with my information. I will definitely be returning to Cape Town and will definitely come to The Travel Cafe first for activities and information.

OMG what a surprise ! The Travel Cafe is exactly what you are looking for when you want to travel: good itineraries, fantastic addresses, exclusive places. They recommended that I did snorkling with the seals and it was the best experience I have had in the water so far !! Same same for the sunrise on top of Lion’s head (see the pictures!) I would have never done that otherwise. I could not recommend more :).

We enjoyed a fantastical experience in Cape Town!!! We wanted to make different changes depending on the weather and Francois was always well disposed to our requirements, proposing new activities with a very well knowledge about them.
