Do not rent here. This place is something else. I made a reservation online and disregarded the terrible reviews because I thought it could not be that bad, but it was. The first issue I experienced as soon as I got there was long lines of people waiting to get their cars. Now it’s my turn to get my reservation I just get called to get put on the list and then when I ask how long it’s gonna be, the response is “I don’t know”. The staff doesn’t make the situation better. They are rude and have attitudes if you don’t go with the flow. So I wait for an hour for my rental trying to understand why it’s taking so long and honestly to this date I still don’t know why it took so long. I guess maybe they didn’t have enough cars. Finally, I get called up. They have a car for me but unfortunately it’s not what I reserved and I refuse to take it. They informed me they don’t know when I will get a car and the reason they gave me the car they did is because that’s all they had at that moment. So after that, I made a decision and decided I would just cancel the reservation. I came up to them and asked to cancel and they had no issues, they seemed glad I cancelled. They said it was fine we will cancel. Tell me why today I get a notice in the mail saying I’m gonna get charged for not fueling up my car rental tank? And sure enough, I have a credit card charge for $56 for not fueling up the tank on a car I never received. I go ahead and call the number on the letter and there isn’t too much of a difficulty explaining the situation and getting them to reverse the charges. So now I will have to wait and see if the charges get truly reverse or if I’m gonna have to call again, but even with this, I will never come back here again and probably will never go to a thrifty again. On a positive note, I ended up finding a good car rental agency that I typically don’t rent at and that was Alamo, they came through clutch with a last-minute rental since I couldn’t get a rental at Thrifty. Seriously the fastest I have ever received a car. I will go ahead and leave them a good review next. Take my word for it. Don’t come over here. See the letter I got.

The company stopped allowing customers to sign up for their rewards program while they revamp the program allegedly. I couldn't pre-register my info prior to picking up as there was an issue with their site. Upon arrival, there was a room full of people waiting. The rep said the wait was roughly an hour to 1 1/2 hr. There was a 2 1/2 hour wait to get a vehicle. The rep said there was nothing that she could do about the inconvenience at that time but I could tell them upon return and maybe get a voucher. Which they did issue a $50 voucher, but I won't use them again. Bad service all the way around. The employees attitudes towards everything is real nonchalant. I was also charged for an additional driver. I told the young lady that it should be free since I had AAA. She neglected to say that they wouldn't honor it and that I was being charged anyway. I would've declined. I didn't notice until after the fact when I returned the vehicle. The other well known rental companies don't even charge you for a spouse. I would not recommend Thrifty to anyone.

What I should've did was read the reviews before booking here. Never again will thrifty get any of my money. I was upset at the fact that I had to wait over an hour for a vehicle that I reserved well in advance. I mean there were people waiting inside and outside. So many people that there was no room to sit or stand unless you stood in the parking lot. If you do not have the fleet available then I should not be able to reserve the vehicle. Seems like a money mill to me. The lady at the front desk was RUDE with horrible customer service skills. I would MUCH rather pay more money and rent from enterprise or hertz which is what I will do moving forward. Also, I see your automated responses to other customer reviews. Please do NOT forward my review to local management only for nothing to be resolved. Instead forward my review to the next level of management AND have them contact me as well which I know none of this will happen.

I should've read the reviews before my husband made a reservation. We've been waiting over an hour for a car, several people have walked out and went elsewhere. The front desk ladies are very polite, sad they have to be the ones to hear everyone get upset, as it's not their fault the place is horribly ran. i just dont understand why everyone is waiting hours for an availabile car. As I'm leaving this review, families have up and left, another customer is complaining. They wont cancel as there is no cancellations unless it's medically related. Will never come here again. *After witnessing 2 different men complain, they magically got their cars in about ten minutes. After they were told they were a few people in front of them. What a mess. We ended up walking out after the 3rd wave of people arrived and there was basically only standing space left inside. Money wasted and a horrible way to start a weekend trip.

Listen to reviews people!! Stay away from this location to save time/money so you don’t start off your trip on a bad foot. Trying to save a few bucks (bc I have always only used Enterprise or Hertz) & used Thrifty. I made the reservation online for a friend & didn’t even have to pay upfront which I thought “okay, great” leave some room in case I decide to change my mind. I didn’t have time to look for other rentals because it was a last minute trip and the price looked decent. …Well, it’s a ploy to get you in and charge insane fees to include “mandatory insurance”, when its known your own auto insurance will kick in if anything happens. How a reservation for $280 went up to $540 is beyond me!!!!! I’ve never had an Enterprise or Hertz reservation change so significantly when picking up. Morale of the story: if you want quality, honest customer service DON’T BOOK HERE!

This experience was horrible. When we arrived by shuttle the office was full, inside and out. Only 1 person was working at the counter. Several customers stated that they have been waiting over an hour. When I reached the counter the clerk stated that she was only putting our names on the list and not processing because she was waiting for cars to come in. I asked if the cars were being cleaned and why after each car is cleaned no one has been able to leave. She didn't have an answer. It's over 20 ppl waiting she finally stated it's only one of her and only 1 machine( what ever that means) I guess she talking about a cleaner. She also stated that the she to get the line down b4 she give away the 1 car that is available. She telling us that it may be 1 to 1.5 hour wait.

Mixed feelings due to rental counter had only one girl trying to sign in about 12+ rentals. Therefore had to wait quite a long time to get car. But, the girl was very courteous and the crew in back tried to help her as much as possible. Thrifty was severely understaffed for a Sunday evening which usually is busy due to business people flying in for business next day. Such as I was doing. She was going into overtime because it was closing time at 7 pm. Houston is a large metropolis so no excuse for Thrifty to be so cheap on employee coverage plus closing so early!

Mixed reviews... there are two customer service reps, one is especially rude and should be terminated, and the other is very pleasant and exhibits good customer service attention. I am a frequent renter each time, having waited 1 hour or more for my vehicle to be ready. Recently, the vehicle assigned broke down (would not start) having to be towed... another whole different frustrating review. While nice vehicles, they aren't cleaned nor cared for as they should, especially for the price we are paying. Very disappointed in Thifty service at this location.

Even with a reservation we had to wait over an hour while available cars were parked in the lot. Staff was not helpful. Renting a car from them was a huge mistake and we’re stuck here without an alternative. Now at 1.5 hours no luck yet. 11 cars available 1 Lady at counter. Horrible!!!

Have a reservation but they said they have no cars, so have to wait for cars to come in. Maybe an hour. I can see lots of cars at hertz and enterprise, and never doing dollar again.
