They do a lot with a little in this tiny store. I never feel like I’m missing out on anything when I shop only here for a given week, that’s pretty cool, given the store’s small footprint. And that truly makes it a neighborhood gem. But when you factor in pricing on top of that and feel like you always get a great deal here? Priceless! I live close enough to walk to this TJs, but far enough away that it’s not my “neighborhood store”. Sadly, the store that is always makes me feel like I’ve been robbed when I go there. And I haven’t even talked about the people yet! The staff here is just great. The folks on the floor seem cognizant of the fact that they’re probably “in the way”, but remain busy while also allowing people to shop. I try not to make matters worse for them by talking to them - I want them to be able to get their job done and move on. But they still have a friendly vibe. The employees I do talk to - at the registers - are equally proficient, but also back up the overall vibe of the team with pleasant conversation while their hands busily scan my groceries.
Indians, Arabians, Blacks, Mexicans and any nonwhite people are not welcome at Trader Joes on Glisan . I walked in no security around and as soon as I got to the bread section security and store employees started whispering amongst each other while following me around. When I got to check out two employees were all of sudden having a conversation about another customer. IBoth old employees are racist. He even took my chicken out of the plastic just to prolong my time so security can walk to front and stare at me. When I looked around all I seen was Hitler and his crew. Stop harrassing us or have the store surrounded by my people. I can shut you down.
I do love TJ's and this store has the same excellent service if you need something. I will say though that their prices have gotten pretty nuts, too, at least in the Portland location, where they're pricing produce by the each instead of by weight, where one yellow potato, for example, costs 80 cents each. Might not sound like a lot but when you can hit Winco a few miles away and buy a 5lb bag of these with like 20 inside for $5, it's pretty crazy to come here and pay almost a dollar for one potato that's smaller than a baseball.
I've been shopping with them since they opened in Pasadena, CA. It's nice to see up-and-comers succeed in the wake of giant capitalist corporations and, more recently, online shopping. Plus they don't try to make you sign up for a club card or download an app in order to get a good deal. They just keep everything at a decent price and mark it as such. Those other stores trying to trick you or monitor your online activity are just scandalous. Being treated like an actual human being is a refreshing change so thanks TJs!
Being an urban Trader Joe's, the parking lot is small and there can be a line of cars down the block during peak hours. I usually shop at the Garden Home TJs, and there are a few items in stock that differ in each one, but mostly the same. This one is buzzier and more frantic. Other than that, the same Pizza Parlanno and Lentil wraps (my fave!). Just like it's supposed to be. Say, whatever happened to the delicious mushroom burgers they carried years ago?
Shopping here is always a great time with the freshest of produce, meats complimented by every thing you would find at a supermarket. My friend said upon his first visit that it was like going to Whole Foods but with Costco prices. He was impressed with the level of service from the excellent staff. The free coffee and samples was enjoyed by him too He is jealous that his city did not have a place like Trader's Joe.
I love Trader Joe's and have shopped there for decades (like many of us.) But as a transgender person I don't feel comfortable shopping at 2122 NW Glissan location because of regular intentional misgendering by staff. Gender has nothing to do with groceries. I am going to the market for sustenance not politics. And when public facing staff continually misgender customers it creates unwelcoming environment.
Trader Joe's is a beloved grocery store for its unique and affordable offerings. Their selection of products is diverse, and you can find everything from fresh produce to delicious snacks. The staff is always cheerful and helpful, creating a pleasant shopping experience. Trader Joe's commitment to quality and sustainability is commendable. It's a go-to destination for grocery shopping in Portland.
My favorite Trader Joe's to go to! Placed in an amazing location up in NW Portland, this TJs offers a great selection of their produce and products to the community. Being in a walkable distance from almost anywhere in NW Portland, you won't know a local who hasn't stopped in this place at least once. Love this shop, have always had good experiences from the staff, and will continue to go here.
Trader Joe's is a beloved grocery store chain that provides a unique and eclectic shopping experience. Known for its distinctive products and friendly staff, it's a favorite among Portland residents. Shoppers can find a variety of fresh produce, snacks, and specialty items that cater to diverse tastes and preferences.
It was good to see TJ's stop catering to panhandlers and activists outside. Some Portlanders are actually waking up to the real problem, which was never LEOs. Across the street there was a fatal shooting by one of the so-called oppressed. This store feels generally safe but the city is still unstable.
This Trader Joe’s feels like an alternate universe, the staff (and patrons) are so friendly and kind. They gave my friend and I a bouquet of flowers! The few minutes we spent in this store was one of the best parts of our day. Plus the prices and food are great! Highly recommend ✨ …
Trader joe's is great. They have high quality items at great prices in a small store layout. The parking here can get really busy if you come in the evenings or on the weekends. And of course they have some murals unique to Portland here. Besides that, who doesn't love trader joe's!
They seem to always have enough cashiers, no matter how busy it gets. I experience great customer service here consistently. My only problem with TJ's is the plasticky packaged everything. I'm sure this is how they keep stuff cheap, but it's a bit much.
This is prob one of the worst trader joes I’ve visited. The part of town is a bit sketch with a lot of homeless people wandering the area outside the store. And the parking lot is absolutely terrible. Do street parking if you can to avoid the chaos
Ah, the Trader Joe's on 2122 NW Glisan St in Portland—the very epicenter of my lifelong love affair with this grocery haven. Walking into this location is akin to stepping into an alternate dimension, one where you're immediately granted an
Love this Traders. People are always super nice, and they tend to have things in stock. The parking lot is trash and people generally forget how to human while in it, but I can walk to avoid it, so I don’t fault it too much.
Very nice People work here, very friendly & helpful ! The store is large enough too pickup just about any ingredient "You" may need for A delicious meal, & also small enough for A quick in & out , ♥️ this place …
I'm sensitive to wheat and try my best to maintain a gluten free diet. This location carries many of TJ's gluten free items. It's a fun neighborhood, and the staff and customers are all very friendly & attractive! ;)
Best grocery store in the neighborhood, always well staffed with friendly people and no Big Brother surveillance vibe like what’s happened to the stadium Fred Meyer. Can’t beat their Brownie Mix either!
So so so happy you are in the neighborhood so I can avoid NS. Prices and selection are excellent, customer service feels genuine. Will continue to come in over and over. Trader Joe's is doing it right!
I love Trader Joe's! This is a typical location with great quality products at great prices, and friendly staff. It's a little hidden and there isn't any parking except the limited spots on the street.
I’m going to keep this simple. PLEASE BRING TRADER JOES TO CANADA!!!! We need you! So many unique and delicious foods. I literally stuffed my suitcase with everything I could get my hands on.
Not many liberals in Portland know that Trader Joe's is owned by China. Trader's they are...prices are higher for that reason and crime is welcomed as well as illegals. Know where you shop!
The cashiers will have pleasant conversation with the guest in front of you but then not look you in the eye and barely talk enough to keep the transaction moving. Check yourself
Typical Trader Joe's, good products but there is no rhyme or reason to the set up, and the parking lot is a compact crapshoot on whether you'll get into an accident.
Great location! Wonderful selection, definitely set up for commuters and single folks or small families. Fabulous staff! Security folks have dog treats.
Nicest, cleanest and best stocked of all the Trader Joe's in Portland! Fun staff, kind check out people, always a joy to shop at this store.
always a joyous experience. bart walked from the register to show us where the maple syrup was hahah. kyley was a massive help as well!
My favorite Trader Joe’s in town, the workers feel less uh (obligated) to be overbearingly complimentary, but are so friendly.
Clean. Good selection of local craft beers. Good selection of organic snacks. Die free snacks which is a plus for my kids.
They are well organized and create snacks and well prepared and thought out dishes for every season. Staff is great.
Always a delight to shop their aisles! Unfortunately we haven't a Trader Joe's on the island of Hawaii. …
Great neighborhood feel. The store was nicely stocked. The staff was very accessible, helpful and friendly.
This Trader Joe’s is in a convenient location and has a great selection of items. Great service, as well!
I’ve never had a bad shopping experience at this place. A great selection of products and a great staff.
Amazing staff. Our cashier had the kindest gesture to my partner and I, making our night.
This Trader Joe’s location is easy to get in and out, great staff and always organized!
First time to visit a Trader Joe’s and it did not disappoint. Will definitely be back!
