I am a member of a South African family who recently shared quite a remarkable experience with Mr Milton Tellington. My Beloved Sister-in-Law Lynette Bernice Soudien lived in Washington DC for more than 30 years. On the 7th January 2022 she passed on just 3 months before the anniversary of her 70th birthday. Her sudden death was a tremendous shock to the family which was worsened by the fact that none of us were able to undertake the journey to DC to attend to matters related to Lyn's estate and the disposal of her remains. We were forced to manage this process by making use of the internet. The initial Virtual journey was extremely frustrating and depressing as we tried to secure the services of a DC Funeral Home to assist us with undertaking the cremation of Lyn's remains and for her cremains to be sent to us in RSA.Then all of a sudden, through the assistance of a wonderful South African Lady who was introduced to us and who also resides in DC, I was referred to Mr Milton Tellington. Milton, in all sincerity, we as a family humbly acknowledge that this was Divine Intervention. GOD witnessed our plight, took pity on us and then GOD mandated you to assist us. You selflessly undertook to shoulder our burden and complete the task on our behalf. Amazingly your cost was so much lower than the other quotes we received. Mr Tellington, on behalf of the Soudien/Weimers/Kesten families in South Africa, we humbly thank you for your empathy which allowed you to selflessly assist us in dealing with the completion of all the matters related to effect the disposal of our Beloved Lyn's remains. Mr. Milton is the reason why my family will never use any other funeral service. My husband passed in July, I was in the hospital with him and had to make arrangements while in the hospital. Mr. Milton treated me like family. He held my husband ashes for months until the urns and other cremation jewelry was delivered, he transferred the ashes at no charge nor did he charge me storage fee for the months he held my husband Ashes. He also allowed my many many packages to be delivered straight to his funeral parlor. Words can’t express how greatful I am. Mr. Milton, is horrible after he gets your money. He was kind while we where looking for someone to do a direct creation and ship the cremains to our family in Ohio. He was unformed about what was happening in his funeral home with our loved one. He hung up on us and refused to take accountability for anything. Everything was out of his hands. I recommend that you not entrust his hands with your loved one.We are looking for closure and he is looking for a quick dollar. No sympathy or empathy. Stay aware from this predator.

Tri-State Funeral Services were very good. They let me know exactly what I needed to do, arranged paperwork and processed everything quickly, enabling us to organise my father’s body to be cremated in time to bring his ashes home with me, ensuring that his ashes were packaged in a way that flying with them and airport security wouldn’t be a problem. I would recommend them, they were compassionate, helpful and communicative, which is just what I needed at such a difficult time.

If I could give them no stars I would …Today I came in helped with final arrangements with my friend for her mother and the lack of empathy and sympathy that was shown to us just because it was a direct cremation baffled me…me being in funeral service myself I no what custom service is in the owner showed none …:so I would not recommend there services to any one please show more empathy in sympathy to the family that you are serving because they do not have to use you .

Mr. Milton Tellington the owner of Tri-state Funeral services and his staff are the epitome of Excellent! They are compassionate and caring as well. I have used other funeral homes in the past, but not any more. This funeral home is a blessing to anyone they provide service to. My family was treated horrible! They acted nice at the beginning, but once they were paid everything changed. They were very unprofessional and really heartless with the way they treated us while we were dealing with the lose of our father. My advice is to not go here. They should be ashamed of themselves for the way they treat people while they are grieving!

This was my first experience in making final arrangements. The Tri State Staff was very professional and patient. Mr. Tellington took his time explaining the process to us. Mr. Milton and the ladies on his team are phenomenal, they went above and beyond to help my family out in a very difficult time, from the communication , quick responses to empathy. I appreciate the affordable costs of cremation and live-stream ceremony. I do wish Mr. Milton wouldn’t always sound so grumpy though. At the end, overall I am happy with his help during this hard time, although there were some rocky moments but we got through them. Thank you.
