Trinity Academy is a small new Classical Christian Middle and High School in Portland. My 17 year old daughter is in the inaugural class and she is having a wonderful experience. If you are a student or parent evaluating Portland Christian schools for options that provide academic excellence, small class sizes, affordable tuition, and welcoming of families from diverse backgrounds then I recommend you take a look at this Christian School. We evaluated other Catholic Schools, Classical Christian Schools, and other Portland Christian Schools but were impressed with the joyful and discerning Christian culture, advanced Math/Science, Fine Arts, and Socratic approach to original texts in the Humanities at Trinity Academy.

I am a 12th grade student at Trinity Academy and I think that Trinity Academy is one of the best schools in Portland, Oregon, because of the high level of academic excellence that all the students and teachers work together to achieve. I looked at several Catholic schools in Portland for high school before deciding to come to Trinity, where the teachers’ excitement for what they are teaching radiates to all of the students and instills in us a love of learning. Whether it is discussing Aquinas’ Treatise on Law, working on watercolors, or modeling projectile motion with Matlab, I have enjoyed many opportunities to grow intellectually and go deeper than a basic understanding of the material.

My wife and I live here in Portland, OR and are presently homeschooling our 2 young children using the classical model. I'm frequently impressed and amazed by how much my kids are learning and retaining through this model of education. As we look ahead to middle and high school, Trinity Academy is our top choice. Not only is it Christian and classical, it is led by a very qualified staff. Take a moment to read their schooling and experience. Most importantly, I can entrust my kids to Trinity because they will not merely be going through the motions to get into college, but be cultivated and developed in a culture of life long learning, character and curiosity.

Trinity Academy is an impressive Christian school in Portland, Oregon. I recently attended their Spring Fine Arts Night and thoroughly enjoyed their performances of music compositions and literary recitations both spiritual and secular. Their classical approach to education not only gives students a deep appreciation for compositions by Mozart and Bach but empowers them to create their own musical contributions. I was impressed to hear the students own complex compositions performed by a professional String Quartet. After their performance, the students proudly displayed their ceramic pottery and sketches. Bravo, Trinity Academy!

I attended the Trinity Fine Arts Event this past Friday, and was blown away by the quality of the student musical compositions! These are 10th graders learning the principles of composition, including intricate counterpoint. It's tough enough to get the rules right, much less to draw a beautiful melody out of the form. But each of these students (including one who had had no musical experience whatsoever coming into 9th grade) managed to do both. As a one-time educator, and a lifelong music lover, I am so thrilled to see that the arts are alive and well in Portland Private Schools!

My two daughters attend Trinity Academy in Portland. A Classical Christian School, Trinity delivers a very strong math and science track for every student in addition to the liberal arts. We feel that when our daughters have completed their Trinity education, they will be well prepared for any field of study at any university they may choose to attend. Beyond the academics, the faculty is top notch and each teacher models Christian values for the students. I highly recommend Trinity to any family looking for excellence in Classical Christian Education.

Our four children attend this gem of a school and we feel so fortunate to have found it. Trinity Academy has built a culture of discovering truth, beauty and kindness--and it shows. In our third year of school here our children, and our family, have felt this wonderful reality. A curriculum that stands upon the Trinity Schools' award-winning model, a faculty and staff that are dedicated to this school, and an inspiring community of learners and parents are just some of the hallmarks of the excellence we have found here.

As an educator and an Orthodox Christian, I am deeply impressed by what Trinity is accomplishing. Both the depth of the classical curriculum and the breadth of the vision of the academy are truly inspiring. The competency and passion of the faculty are second to none. I only wish we had encountered Trinity soon enough to send our own son there!
