I guess time will tell what rating Tulane's SoPA deserves, but I can't say I was 100% satisfied. I'm glad I did it. It felt good to use my brain again. My advisors were always helpful. But for the sake of reviewing the whole thing and giving feedback, I have three criticisms that kept it from being five stars. The first one might seem petty, but when I was considering Tulane, I was told that after six credits, the seventh was free. That was the policy my first year. It was discontinued after that one year due to a whole reconfiguration. It went from continuing studies to professional advancement, and that every-seventh-credit-is-free went out the window, just when I was enrolling in my sixth and seventh credit. So that seemed like a bad business deal. After that, I took a couple online classes that I felt were totally worthless. I also had a couple online classes that were great, but the bad ones made me question the worth of my degree. Then, lastly, I wish I wouldn't have felt like such a Tulane also-ran. It felt like JV Tulane sometimes. For instance, I could've chosen an IT degree with an emphasis on business, but the business classes wouldn't have been through Tulane's more prestigious business school, but rather through a night school in Elmwood with nothing in common with the real one. Real Tulane students can use the Reily Center, but not us. Why not? Hope this helps someone. . .

My entire experience with Tulane's School of Professional Advancement (SOPA) was outstanding! This was one of the most challenging and rewarding academic endeavors I have faced to date. It started with my first discussion with the SOPA Professor of Practice and Director Emergency and Security Studies who convinced me that the program was designed for professionals like me who have limited free time and many obligations outside work. The faculty pushed me and solicited my input from my military experience and time in the corporate world. The staff were always very helpful and genuinely cared about my satisfaction. I was also pleased at the level of effort the faculty placed on offering career suggestions and passing on job opportunities to the students. My experience in this program and the bonds formed with the faculty and staff exceeded my expectations. I am forever grateful and wholeheartedly endorse Tulane's SOPA! Col (ret) Jordan Jones.

My experience was amazing as a Tulane student. I was apprehensive initially because of being an older adult. But with alot of family encouragement I graduate with a B.A. in Digital Design and then continued and received a Masters in Liberal Arts two years later. One of my most memorable experiences was having a chance opportunity to meet the Dalai Lama, he spoke at my graduation for my B.A. I happened to be at the Convention Center to purchase prayer flags and he walked in the door, so I had to meet him. It was a moving experience and one I will never forget. I went on to become an art teacher for Jefferson Parish, a job I had only once dreamed of having. Sometimes it is not only about the salary but to be able to do something I love doing and making a difference in a child's life is truly a dream come true! Thank you Tulane! Without you none of this would have been possible.

I feel very strong and secure in what information I'm receiving at Tulane. They have shown me that even after having a family, I can still continue my education and follow my dreams of becoming an attorney. The support I received from my director and the administrators are outstanding. They really want their students to survive the path of going to college and become very successful in life. I am thankful for Tulane and the many instructors that take the time to teach.

I am currently in the middle of this program. One that caters towards the working demographic. I enjoy the patience of the the professors and the flexibility the program provides. Personally the online option is what attracted me to the program. I’ve been very impressed with the amount of knowledge I’ve gained using resources I didn’t know existed online. I highly recommend this program not only for your professional advancement but personal growth as well.

I still feel pretty good about the experience since I am still going through the semester. I like that the classes are online, which allows me to fit my coursework in my day-to-day. With the help of guided prompts from my instructors, I am still absorbing the material as I would have, if not more so than, in an in-person lecture course. If you have excellent time management skills, a SOPA online program will work well for you.

I find the school of Professional Advancement accommodating regards to peoples work schedule. I wanted to continue my education and needed some undergraduate classes before applying to graduate school and there are plenty of classes to take and they are at 6pm in the evening. I hope to find some Saturday classes next semester. Meeting once a week for a 2 hours gives me the opportunity to complete my assignments and study.

I am very happy I was allowed to participate in this program. It was extremely challenging and educational, and I believe that I am a better professional today as a result. Not only were my professors subject matter experts, but they additionally worked in the fields that they taught. I continue and will continue to recommend this program to all of my peers and colleagues.

I have thoroughly enjoyed attending Tulane. For someone who had been away from school for over 25 years, I could not think of a better program to enter to complete my bachelor's degree. While I am happy that I am about to start my final semester, I will definitely miss collaborating with classmates and working with my advisors. It truly has been a wonderful experience."

My experience at SoPA has been my best college experience yet. The communications from the school, the help of the advisors and the great teachers are what really makes the difference for me. The class availability, the low cost of class texts and the online class option has made education fit easily in my life. I feel proud to be apart of Tulane University.

My experience with Sopa was one of surprise and delight. Not only is the graphic design program AMAZING, the school's staff is warm and welcoming. I had to have surgery halfway through my first semester and everyone was super helpful and ready to take on the challenge. All of my professors seemed genuinely concerned and communicated with me while I was out.

Great place to expand personal potential. Supportive, resourceful, contemporary and flexible to help adult students succeed. They will match your effort to get what you set out to accomplish. Great team from the front desk to the Dean. Definitely an experience worth pursuing when you're ready to advance professionally, socially and personally.

I enjoyed every moment I spent at Tulane University! The instructors and staff were always willing to assist me. I’m glad to be a Tulane Alumni!! I hate the campus that was in Madison, MS closed. It was so convenient for me to continue my college education.

My experience at Tulane was incredible. The professors were top-notch and the facilities were most comfortable. By far the best educational experience of my career. I would love to once again attend Tulane at some point in the future.

I was very pleased with how accommodating Tulane is with PA students. I was a very non-traditional student and I don't think I would have finished had it not been for Tulane's approach toward accepting accumulated credits.

The Homeland Security Studies MPS program at Tulane's SoPA gave me a wider perspective, and a better ability to understand the comprehensive nature of the multi-stakeholder environment of Emergency Management.

I love the school of professional advancement. It was a lot of working adults like myself, and the professors are amazing. Within 90 days of graduation I landed a job in my field of study. Thanks Tulane!

The program is well designed and the classes are interesting, but I am a little disappointed. I was hoping for a full online curriculum, but I will have to attend campus classes this semester.
