Tyamolum camp site overall was pleasant, a nice campground close enough to Brisbane and yet feels much further disconnected to the city with beautiful surrounds in a quiet area, I would love to come back if it were not for the bathroom.... I have been travelling around Australia for a while now and consider myself to be pretty tolerant and used to bathrooms of all sorts, this was on another level. The bathroom resembles that of a horror movie, I honestly felt unsafe being there at night time and it felt like Jason from Friday the 13th was going to come visit me. The smell of urine is so bad your nostrils flare up and you can literally taste the it, I would be surprised if the toilets have been cleaned within the year. There is urine stained all over the toilet seats, the sinks are filthy, my partner refused to go in there any time due to the condition. There is also no hot water, this is fine for me as I usually have cold showers, but after about 2 minutes of using the shower and water slows down to the pace of a tortoise and you are forced to endure quiet possibly the worst shower ever. Like I said overall the horrible bathroom does not ruin the beautiful and well located camp ground. But paying $35 a night I would hope some of that money would go towards cleaning the dirtiest bathroom I have ever encountered. I hope to christ I never find a bathroom dirtier.
Tried to ring to enquire about the facilities and its regulations, the person who attended the phone was quite snappy, bossy and cut me off several times. Location sounds nice, but don't want to deal with such a rude caretaker. If you can't communication respectfully with people who are genuinely interested, maybe you need to reconsider who is the receptionist is. First time ever having to do a bad review for a campsite.
Went camping here in a group of 8, and had a blast! Campsite 5 was HUGE, it could easily fit our group. It even had a fire pit and a water tap nearby. The only downside is the really long, tiring walk to the amenities block. Would 100% recommend it to anyone planning to go. Just make sure you bring enough portable chargers with you because of the non-powered sites.
Booked to stay for one night, drove all the way up from qld. The code wouldn’t work to get into the place unfortunately it was passed there closing time. I’ve contacted them regarding a partial refund and I’m getting no reply. Wouldn’t recommend at all, you don’t get very far
Very old facilities, full of spiders and other lizards, absolutely regret going there. It is a bush not a camping area. Won't recommend it at all and very expensive as well. People come and go there without booking, not secured at all.
The guy (Admin) who answered the phone was a bit angry and keeps hanging up the phone. You need to learn how to talk to people mate. The camping grounds look nothing like the pictures, the facilities were so dirty and old.
Thank you Norm, for your welcoming check-in over Easter! Facilities were good, mop and bucket supplied to keep them clean all campers chipped in with this chore, as normal, with this bush environment!
My self and my wife and our four boys all under 12 yrs old stayed here . And it was amazing so quite and peaceful. And the volunteers come and do there checks every morning very nice an professional.
Staying here now, no hot water, hasn't worked for months, returned from work yesterday to find I've been locked out. They will take your money and give you lies.
Live across the street from the camp. Very popular with campers and laser scirmish. Noise a bit of a problem but not for the campers Thanks. …
Camped overnight for a mountain bike event. Nice area and the waterhole looks great. Facilities are about average for a scout camp.
Hi have a fifty plus foot rig have used this location many times AND will be doing so very soon. AND i drive from Cairns.
Great place too go. Having the water flowing in the creek made it the best time for the kids too play and cool off in
Great scout campsite. We had Knight Moves there in 2018, which was enjoyed by our youth and adults alike.
Have been out in caravan for 2 weeks. Great little gem of a place. 2 powered sites and just beautiful
Not at all what it looks like in the pictures and the public facility is gross
Lovely area with a cute little bush walk to the river. Love the fire set-up.
