As someone traveling through the area, I had no previous experience with local laundry facilities. A quick Google search led me to U-City and quite possibly the best coin laundry experience I could have hoped for. The owner was on duty when I visited. With his natural customer service skills, he was very genuine with his willingness to assist me and answer any question I had. He offered "old school" service in a society that could certainly use more of it! The machines were top quality and offered the technology that was efficient in both time and careful handling of my laundry (which included clothing, bedding, canvas and a sleeping bag). The dryers were amazingly fast minus the extreme temperatures often found in commercial equipment. The prices are VERY reasonable, too. I found the entire business to be immaculate. The bathroom was spotless, as well. If you frequent laundromats or just occasionally need one, do yourself a favor and visit the best in town.......U-City Coin Laundry. They take the term "coin laundry" to a whole new level of modern technology . They are located in a shopping center along with other businesses you may need. Once you experience U-City Coin Laundry, you will leave with so much more than clean laundry.

March 7, 2021 Sunday Wash after 7 pm. I intended to load (1) in the $6.50 washer; 2 loads in the $4.50 washers. $4.50 washer area is small. You might say three is a crowd. The kid attendant was folding her wash and talking on the phone like it wasn’t already loud there. Noise can be a factor when doing laundry and the area is tight. The carts is only 1 way in between the wash in the two middle floors. Social distance could of worked there but there was no set of rules to this effect. I also experienced the parking area is not suitable for disable parking. No play. I was washing (on a prior week) weighted blankets. I am not lifting a tee shirt. So loading three loads in there baskets and those baskets kept rolling away. Problem with that too! I can complain about the respect on that Sunday night the managers daughter proved she had no respect by cursing right back to repeat what was said. Who is it to her business to say you’re acting like children. I refuse to accept the explanation why she did not seem to be helpful? Elderly people have to help themselves to take care of there own wash too. I need to speak to Bill about these issues.9:54 pm 030921: T

The lady inside is weird. HOW CAN I HARASS HER BY TAKING SELFIES OF ME DOING FOLDING MY LAUNDRY??? The place is clean. But she took a 2 face mood and ore diacer on myself. Trying to make it seem as if I did something wrong. I was just there to wash my laundry I felt discriminate,. Right when I was folding my clothes she flip out, she got all paranoid, probably thinking I'm not a religious freak, and rush me out, telling me that she doesn't want MINE KIND here again...Lady THATS DISCRIMINATION She got mad cause I took selfies of me folding laundry in here place. She is a black women. Soo she gonna okay the black card. Making for of an issue. I have the right to share my experience. It's not against the law!!!! I have the freedom of my 1st rights freedom of speech

I was really impressed by my first visit here! Very modern machines, at first I honestly didn’t know how to use them… The attendant on site gave me great advice on which machines to use for the loads I was doing and how to make sure my blankets were dried properly. I asked her a million questions and she patiently answered them all, and was joyful about it. I’m grateful they accept credit cards! Also, there were a lot of machines, 8 loads, 4 loads, 3 loads and single I believe ? I used the 8 loaders and got all my blankets and towels and tons of laundry done in a decent amount of time. (I recently moved in from out of state and had a LOT of laundry!) anyway, would recommend to everyone!

06/09/2022 Clean. The machines take quarters or credit cards. There is a change machine too. Both vending machines were out of order when I was there. There are some stools next to a counter that has a couple of outlets to charge devices. There are a few chairs too. Restroom open when attendant is there otherwise it's $0.25 to use. No front loaders. The smallest washer is $3.75 about 27 minutes on warm wash. The largest washer is $12.00. The dryers are all $2.00 for 30 minutes. Drop off service is available too. Plenty of parking spots in the back. The plaza has a grocery store in it plus various restaurants and a Rite Aid pharmacy. #nomadlife #stealthcamping

UPDATE I was charged double for the dryer and also charged $9 total for one load of laundry. Sorry. BAD. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. PRIOR REVIEW GOOD This may be one of the nicest in San Diego. From time to time, I've had to use the coin-op laundry and I've noticed that this has consistently gotten the highest ratings. University City is centrally located and this laundromat has a lot of parking in back. It's a relatively peaceful parking lot. It's a very clean and organize place and I would say that the service from the woman working there is truly outstanding. She's very articulate and attentive and kind. If you need a coin op I definitely recommend this one.

safe, clean, well-maintained, well stocked. this laundry mat is my new go to place for bulk items. they have several size washers and dryers, including super size ones. all the equipment is clean and well maintained - saw several machines getting the regular maintenance and upkeep, not just repair. the place is clean and well ventilated. plenty of folding tables and rolling carts for laundry movement and preparation. highly recommend. the two employees that I interacted with were very pleasant and knew the business inside and out. there is also a laundry service at this location.

We were doing our laundry today and Michelle was so rude and told my son to wear headphones while he was watching his phone because it was so loud which is not true and nobody was around us and i told her we werent bothering anyone and she was I'm the manager and in charge here witch I respect but we weren't doing anything wrong and she was out and customers looking for her and instead doing her job came to tell us this nonsense! We never ever disrespect anyone I'm a business lady and I know how to tread my customers with respect!

I've only been to a handful of laundromats in my life, and they are usually terrible. This place is not one of those! It's clean, tidy, and has machines readily available. People are polite and courteous. I love the card payment system, it does charge your $20 up front, but when it clears your account it is only the amount you spent. The location is great too, cause I get a coffee while I'm washing my clothes, and do some grocery shopping while they are drying. Makes my day so much more efficient and lot less stressful.

Great laundromat, quiet area, patrons are all respectful to one another — the owner keeps everything clean and maybe the vending machine with $1.00 Coke cans works but I’m not taking my chances Reason for 3 stars — washing machine #209 took my CC info and then didn’t allow me to use it, essentially eating $20.. I called the number listed on Google and it went to a voicemail that was full. If you’re the owner, please contact me regarding the faulty equipment and reversing the charge to my account. Thank you!

So easy and convenient! I walked in and asked the first person I saw about the laundry drop off service. She took me to the little scale that weighs your laundry to determine the price, I explained that everything I didn’t want put in the dryer was in a grocery bag. She gave me my laundry detergent, softener, and dryer sheet options, I paid, and I was on my way! Just picked up my clothes and I am very happy! Highly recommend. Just $17 for 10 lbs of clothes. What a great service. So convenient. So well folded.

This is the best laundromat I have ever used, very clean, consistent, allows me to use credit cards for all purchases, and a free bathroom. Unfortunately, no paper towels in the bathroom, but that's the worst criticism I can make of this place. I wish they were open 24 hours but I can understand that's not very practical. I visit every two or three weeks, and the place is just as good as it's always been. In fact, the people who work there now are a little better than the ones from the past.

I have been coming to this laundry for 7 years, 1-2 times a week. They supposed closes at 10 pm, the last laundry is allowed at 8:30 pm. I leave my daily work at 8 pm. It take me 20 minutes to get to this laundry, because it was my favorite. However, in the last month I have received a terrible attitude twice from the person I have come across working there. Today was the last time my foot stepped on that laundry. Too bad, I really enjoyed going to wash there.

  • Justine Jiang

If you do a drop off service, keep in mind you are operating based on the laundromat’s convenience. I recommend if you come here, you do the washing yourself instead. Got a text message today saying that my laundry is ready for pick up. But when I showed up at 2:40pm, I was instead greeted with a sign that said return by 4pm. If the person is gone for 10 or 20 minutes I understand. But almost 90 minutes?? This is ridiculous

Dirtiest laundromat I have ever seen. Doesn’t look like it’s been swept in months. But they won’t allow dogs in there for some reason even tho my dog was the cleanest thing in there. I understand tho just thought that was funny. They have no top loaders for small loads. $4 is the cheapest washer and I could only fit a single load into it. They do have a restroom for anyone that wants to use it tho. Anyone.

We needed our clothes cleaned while visiting La Jolla. They did a great job! She remembered to ask if we wanted Free & Clear, which we did. We also took her up on the option to hang our collared shirts (but not our pants). The hangers they use are really nice, and they even bagged the hanging clothes, which I hadn't expected. Well worth the money. We'll use them again when we visit the area in the future.

  • Melissa DeMille

It used to be great until they raised the prices today. Now it costs $6.00 to wash and dry one load of clothes. The employee told me they only raised it 3%. Unless it cost $25 to wash a load before- I don’t think so. The price was bad enough before but now it’s just absurd. I have lights and darks. It would’ve cost me $12 to wash my clothes for the week. Nope.

  • Shari Ciancio

There are a lot of washers and dryers, but many were out of service. Bathroom clean, but they do not provide seat liners. Soap dispenser empty. Door to bathroom locked open, so doesn't cost to use, but anyone can walk in on you. Facility clean. Other patrons, respectful. Plenty of convenient parking immeduately back of building.

  • Adre Rivera

Favorite Laundromat in the area. Good parking in back, and if you go at the right time you can get a shaded parking space against the back fence for most of the day. It's a clean place, has a bathroom, tables to fold, prices are around 5$ for 2 loads and it's not busy somedays. Location is good to waste time in.

  • L H

It’s small and kinda dirty. The bathroom is gross and has no TP, even though you have to pay to use it? The dryers say they have a delicate option which is supposed to be “no heat” but it’s definitely heated. Annoying that you can’t do anything less than :30 on the dryers for $200. Overall rip off.

  • Andrey Lvovskiy

This place is really good. It has big clean washers and dryers both taking cards. There is a change though. Cleaning supplies can be also purchased here. The interior is clean, light, with comfortable seats and cool photos around. I always go here when I need to wash my big blankets.

  • DeeJay Johnson

Nice & clean with newer machines that take both quarters & cards. Yes @ first I thought that the driers were a'lil overpriced ($2&$4) but @ that price it gives you 30mins. & actually drys the complete load "that was half jeans" the first time around. Great place

  • Kiaser Soasa

The machines are ‘high efficiency’ meaning they do not use enough water to clear your clothes plus the staff is rude and the laundry is even more expensive in Del Mar for machines that don’t wash your clothes. Do not come here to do laundry lol

  • Beth Severt

There twice. Very nice, good washers and dryers, bathroom on site, two entrances, bar type seating, outside seating, shops and eateries in same area, wheelchair accessible. Free parking, bathroom. A little pricey, $3 cool/cold wash $3.25

  • Annette Jarman

Today I used the wash and fold service at U-City Coin Wash. The service was great and my clothes were ready for pickup in just a couple of hours. The clothes were all sorted and folded very nicely. I’ve been to other wash and fold places

  • RJ Bundoc

Very clean with nice people! Needed to get some washing done on New Years Eve, even though they closed early, the manager allowed us to get a load in. He was very friendly and the facility was very clean. They have huge tables some with

  • David Sonsteng

This looks like one of the nicest laundromats I have ever been too. Unfortunately the listed hours on here aren't exactly correct. While they may be physically open until 10, their last load is at 830. I am in town on vacation and got

  • Lisa Sauerwein

The machines are clean for the most part. They have convenient debit/credit machine slides on each machine to pay. The only issue is they make you pay to lock the bathroom door. If you need to go, use the restroom at the nearby market.

  • changelyng

When I show up ten minutes before.close to drop off laundry, I expect to be allowed to do so. Dropoingnoff takes four minutes. Coming back tomorrow wastes my time and gasoline.i dont appreciate that at all..

  • Kayani Melanson

Would love to know how often they wash the machines. Found algae? mold? Something green when I was about to pull a load of laundry out of a washing machine. Definitely not worth $7.

  • Sins Of Wanderlust

Clean and organized laundry with lots of machines. Prices are reasonable and all washers and dryers take coins or card. Detergent and soda avalable in vending machine on site.

  • Heather Nicoletti

Always clean, staff is always friendly and very helpful, the machines always work the way they should. Great place to do laundry. The owner always makes you feel welcome.

  • Mitchel Squires

Great service, the staff are very helpful and kind. The location is clean and organized. Machines are kept up. Hope the owner knows how great the employees are.

  • Virgie Chostner

Very clean. The employee is kind and helpful if needed. There is plugs to charge your cellphone if needed. You can use your debit or credit card or quarters.

  • Wahyu A Harun

Clean place, lots of machine to use. Lots and huge parking space. Good neighbourhood. Strongly recommend to wash your laundry with machine. Cheap and fast.

  • Darren M

I have to admit I seldom do laundry and i was dreading going . Having just moved here We tried a different laundromat before we discovered this one.

  • Jeff Wansart

Clean and always open machines. Full load wash and dry should only take about 45 min. Plenty of stores around you to keep you busy while you wait.

  • Jacob Perez

Credit card system wonky. It charges $20 to card then refunds what you don’t use. Other than that it is a very decent place, very clean.

  • Larry Terry

Great location, nice wide parking lanes, reliable machines, and an amazing attendant with excellent customer service.

  • Edmund Henry

It's a fine enough laundromat. Machines accept cards which is convenient, and they have free WiFi.
