Waited an hour and a half to see the special baby clinic team today for special needs babies. Dr. Jennifer, the Neonatologist, had terrible bedside manner and stripped down my baby without asking for permission after I asked if the OT checked her hips for the hip dysplasia (they were recommending I get an ultrasound for) . She did not tell me clothing removal was necessary to check nor inform me of what the procedure looked like before starting. She just walked over from the corner of the room she had been standing in the whole time the OT was assessing my baby, and (honestly what felt like she really didn't want to be there or be bothered with hands on work) stripped her down undid her diaper and began what look like forceful pushing on my infants legs trying to "make them pop or click". I was frankly horrified. This is my second negative experience at CTH. I wish I had stopped her and advocated for my child. I assumed the check would just be a gentle touch assessment through the clothes like the rest of the assessment had been at the appointment thus far. Even our general Pediatrician asks for permission if clothing removal is necessary and tells us what she is going to do Before hand. It all Happened so fast and we were so exhausted and had two more kids to get home to, so we just gathered all the information we could from the appointment and then left as soon as possible. The terrible medical care and lack of humanity from the doctors in New Mexico truly saddens me. We won't be going back if it an be avoided....find somewhere else.
My son has been a patient of the Ortho Clinic for well over a year. First with Dr. Kallur, who amazed us with his true concern..(he ensured to do my sons Corrective surgery with Dr.Druxberry, before he dr kallur moved and left his patients in the more than capable hands of Dr.D (I'm sure I messed up his name).. And we have been just as impressed with Dr.D. All of the staff at Carrie Tingley and the child's surgery and recovery unit were complete angels! First everyone gave us hope that my son could have a normal life, and they became our angels. We could never express our Appreciation and love for this amazing people that had their hands in caring for my son. Especially during the hectic time adjusting to CoVid and them all ensuring our health (mental and physical) well being and being so compassionate when we were in such need of their care. They changed our lives and have done it all with a caring kind empathic environment of efficient dedicated staff that acted like every patient were their only patient!
I Called to make an appointment for my son today, who may have a fractured or broken arm. According to the scheduler they cannot get him in until tomorrow in the late afternoon because the fracture clinic is only open in the late afternoons and on certain days. Also they have up to 10 days to offer him an appointment. My son is in pain and is also three, he has had his arm this way since Saturday, I did an online visit, took him to an urgent care with x-ray capabilities, and ultimately ended up with Carrie Tingley. There is no urgency when it comes to children's injuries apparently here at Carrie Tingley. Also it would stand to reason that they would have an on-call doctor, for injuries like these that don't usually happen during their business hours. It's frustrating that my son's injury is not of importance to them. I am very upset with Carrie Tingley's operating procedures. This is not acceptable and I would hate for anyone else child to be treated in this manner.
All the emplloyees there are very friendly n helpful. But there process is terrible. Appiontment for my son at 9:20 seen at 10:00 they took off his cast at 10:05. Then went for Xrays had forgot about us. We sat there for an hour. Went back at 11:06 then 1 of the Assitants tells my son he is going to need the cast for a few more weeks. Meanwhile my son and I feel terrible with incorrect info:/ Then Dc.Mercer comes back n tells us its healed no cast needed we can go. My son is 5yrs old wanted to take his cast home with him, somehow it got lost. My son left in tears he was looking forward to take it home:'( . They tried to fix their mistake with a prize, appreciated but my son all the way home was crying and sad. What should of been a good experience but was terrible! They need to be more organized on how they see the patients and who come 1st to improve service... left at 11:40
I had called to see about the possibility of rescheduling an appointment. I was given the new date, which I texted to my spouse, it wasn't even 1 minute of time, we decided to stay with the original date. The woman in the phone must if thought I hung up and started to complain about it to a coworker. I was still on the line, I told her this and she hung up on me. I'm sorry I made you do your job. I had to wait five mins while she looked up the next available date. If your going to start talking bad about people make sure they are no longer on the line. What kind of ungrateful people do you have answering the phone at this hospital? If they don't like that they have actual work to do, they should just live off the government.
My 12 year old daughter had severe scoliosis. Her curve was at 97 degrees. I met with Dr Bennett and he was wonderful. He felt just as bad as we did about having to tell us she needed Spinal Fusion Surgery. He and his staff explained everything so that my daughter (who is developmentally delayed) could understand what was happening. Once we had the surgery they gave us updates throughout the surgery. Once it was done he personally came out to talk with my husband and I and sent us pictures of her x-rays from his personal phone. Personally checked in every day she was in the hospital. Staff was great at the hospital. Very understanding. I am so grateful that I was able to find them.
My 5 year daughter broke her ankle Friday night. Saturday morning we were in a presbyterian urgent care where they took x-rays and referred us to Carrie Tingley. I called Monday morning and got an appointment for Tuesday afternoon. The staff was so caring and efficient. The doctor took the time to explain the brake to to me, while two others were casting my daughters ankle. There was a fourth doctor whose sole purpose was to talk and play with my daughter and explain to her what was happening in terms a 5 year old would understand. They were able to turn something that could have been terrifying for my daughter into something fun.
The female staff was amazing and sweet! But the doctor that I waited 5 months to see for an appointment for my daughter couldn't call me to tell me he couldn't see the unltrasound images because we are from SJ and full on asked me if she had this or that and what severity it was. Ummm that's why I'm here... Complete waste of time and the fact that they didn't even look at imagining to see what is wrong with my daughter rubbed me in the wrong way and it took a lot for me to bite my tongue. Never again Carrie Tingley never again. Kids deserve better and a more caring team.
They shouldn't be calling on days that their office is close. I have a whole voice mail saying call back and an appointment was never made, so call back to schedule it. I call back just for the office to be closed and the number they called from is not in service. when I have it logged and called multiple times in months advance to confirm there was an appointment for pediatric neurology they have said yes theres one and have had the date to tell me when but now it's just cancelled. It's very important and for it to just disappear from the system is upsetting.
The therapy department doesn’t have any consideration for patients. I checked in 17 minutes after my appointment at 11:00 am considering they give an extra 15 minutes to be late. I talked to the person in charge of that department explaining my reason of being late and they told me that they couldn’t take me in. I have to drive an hour to get to my appointment, the gas prices are very high right now. They gave me no consideration whatsoever. It’s the only department at UNM hospitals that I have had trouble with.
I wouldn't recommend this place. I was told 3 different things by 3 different doctors about which bones my daughter broke in her arm. The first was at the ER and the second two were here. The wait is also horrible especially if you have little ones. It felt as if they just try to see as many people as possible in a day instead of really spending accurate time with each patient. If at all possible I would highly suggest somewhere else! To bad davita doesn't accept molina or else we would have gone there.
People are kind, just needs more cleaning and seating for wait rooms. It's a hit or miss when talking to receptionists. Some are helpful others ignore you. Just depends. Seating in waiting rooms/area is awful. They have a room for kids to do activities so that's nice just the hours it open needs to be paid attention to. Staff or therapist are kind and helpful. Orthotics here are done well. Therapy room was clean, and equipment all looked in good shape.
I don’t not recommend this place if you have Molina or United healthcare. My daughter has hip dysphasia and it has taken her 2 monthes to even get seen for a consult. She is 5 months old and now she is only allowed two appointments. The staff is very friendly but other than that their a pain in butt. It’s a real bummer because the only place in the state that works with pediatric orthopedics don’t take your insurance.
Worst place ever. The wait was super long, the dr walked out half way between explaining my sons xrays and talking to us and said he’d be back. Waited another 20+ minutes then talked to the nurse who said that the dr gave them our chart and said we can go and come back if needed without even being able to finish speaking to the Dr. The nurses were nice but everything else was just totally unacceptable.
Nice facility. But Dr Mercer does not care about the situation with her patients. The physical therapist and the attending resident cared more and has concerns about my daughter way more than she did. Then when it comes to calling the scheduling number the lady that answers is beyond rude!! I may go back if it's any other doctor but I will only schedule if I talk to the actual clinic.
My son had an appointment at 9:30am when they called to confirm they were very specific about being on time if not we would be charged a fee and they would have to cancel us out, we made it 10 min early to my son's appointment and we waited over an hour to be taken back and then the nurse said dr. Williams was falling behind and they weren't sure how long it would be to get seen.
I have an 8 month old and had to take him in for a PH study and they made sure he was at ease and tried to make sure that he was comfortable the nurses and tech were great with him. As a mom he is my first priority I want to make sure he is well taken care of and they listened and understood how he needed to be approached and handled during the procedure . Thanks you.
This hospital is amazing they helped my son so much he had a torn tendon.. He got surgery n we have been doin rehab! Celestina is amazing in helpin my son re use his finger they have an amazing place 4 john to start re using his hand its like a playroom where he can use his hand to swing on bars n rock climbing i love this place …
Worst service ever , doctors walking around the hall constantly & I haven’t been seen been waiting for an hour. Once seen all I was told to do was jump n touch my toes, the er has told me to go over there because I had broke a bone in my back after I was seen they told me nothing is wrong
I travel 3 hours to get here, and the staff is amazing everytime! From the medical assistants to the Xray techs not to mention the doctors who go above and beyond to exactly lain everything in depth so you feel at ease. I leave with the trust that my children are very well taken care of.
Staff was incredibly friendly over the phone and during check in. It was really nice to find a place that didn't feel like they were trying to just rush through an appointment. Dr. took time to listen, examine and to explain options. Extremely impressed with our experience!
Been here twice with the worst experiences ever. Staff is so rude and condescending and unhelpful. I would pay extra to go anywhere else in Albuquerque!! If you get Chasity on the phone to make an appointment, good luck, she's the rudest person I've ever dealt with.
Made my 2 month old wait almost 2 and a half hrs before the doctor even saw her. Went in for the appointment at 2:35. It’s now 5:07 and we’re barley leaving and the hospital was empty. Ridiculous to me. No curtesy call didn’t let us know they were running behind.
I found the doctors and nurses and the front desk personnel to be very friendly and very helpful. We did have to wait a bit, but not longer than your average doctor office wait. I felt like we were in good hands when seeing the orthopedic doctor for my daughter.
Love the doctors there. They make it feel like my daughter is their only concern. A nurse even gave her a book. They extermely considerate of your time if you let them know you have a schedule and will put in extra effort to meet time constraints.
For a first timer I had a pleasant experience, staff were attentive and pleasant! My scheduled time was mixed up (don’t know how that could of happened), but were still able to fit me in with a speedy wait time.
Horrible, I took my daughter for a neurology appointment. Dr Wolf was horrible and seemed to not care for my concerns and acted as if I didn’t understand what was wrong with my daughter. Never coming here again.
Growing up Carrie Tingley Hospital was awesome! The Doctors at the time were caring ang friendly! Also I remember the game room, which was my favorite area of the hospital, I am happy you are still open!
Cannot complain about the services my son are receiving from this hospital. The staffs are courteous & make you feel comfortable. I would recommend this facility to my friends & families.
Doctors and staff in this facility or excellent with children and the wait normally is not too bad every once in a great blue moon you may have to wait longer than your scheduled time.
The doctors and staff here are absolutely amazing. They are very attentive and give you all the time you need. They thoroughly answer your questions and help in whatever way they can.
The doctors are great but general communication and organization is horrible. Check all options before going here. There are other places that are run much more efficiently.
Service was horrible . they forget about their patients and have you waiting for hours to be seen . Doctors and nurses weren’t helpful and just walked around doing nothing
The waiting time is ridiculous! I’ve traveled 2 hours to get here for us to wait 2 hours to get seen. However, the staff, nurses were very nice and so were the doctors.
The world has to learn how a innocent children love and too love as you are an innocent person as a race the human race when we learn how to race together!!!!!!!
Just went today so that my 6 month old could get a cast. It was a good experience overall. We were moved along through very quickly and the staff were friendly.
Really great service. Dr Kalampokis is one of the best Drs. really explains everything so you understand. Staff were really nice as well and helped out a lot.
The whole time we were there was great all presonal was very kind respectful all my questions answered i can say my daughter was in good hand there
I have tried to schedule with Carrie Tingley important checkups and as always the call gets dropped and they don't call back...which is unlikely
Es un hospital con el mejor servicio tanto en Español como otros idiomas resolvieron mis dudas y me están ayudando con el problema de mi hija.
No available providers for months for 9 month old child who needs immunizations and well visits. Ridiculous, horrible hospital.
Very caring and friendly staff. My grandson sees Dr Sylvia and I just love how caring and knowledgeable she is. Very great
The people are outstanding I never have to worry about my child when he is in their Care
People really care about helping others which shows with everyone at Carrie Tingley.
Great place. Dr. Treme and Dr. Kullar are awesome. Thank you for everything.
