Very poor service, for starters there is only one person working the front desk while everyone was in the back sounding like they were having a party. You could smell food and hear the employees being very inappropriate mail was delayed received a late notice the day after it was supposed to be retrieved. Not only was my package delayed when it finally made it to their location they "tried" delivering to my home. Notes were left on the outside of the gate a week in advance to help the Driver still my package was denied due to my name not being on my mail box. There wasn't a note left informing me that they tried delivering my mail I had to literally keep tracking my package. The next day I requested to pick up at the post office. On my way to the post office a letter from them for me signing off for a letter was posted on my mail box but nothing from my previous package. I went to the post office begging for help the woman at the front desk was fairly rude practically threw my ID and note from them back at me and told me to speak to a supervisor. I spoke with a supervisor still not knowing what their note instated still no one bringing up my package informed me she'd call the delivery driver and call me with any updates. Two days after expecting to receive my package and placing my name on my mail box still nothing no notice no nothing. So I finally went back to the post office the lady at the front desk was wonderful she had a long line with a few frustrated guest and kept her composure and attitude better than the supervisors. It wasn't until then when she informed me I had two items that were sent to me one that I had to sign for, thank god she helped me because it was really important mail. Next I asked if she could see if my package was there she informed me she did not see it in holding nor in the delivery mail, she found another solution and come to find out they were about to return to sender without informing me, and not even holding it for five business days at the least! This place needs new employees, management, training and better manners.

Coming from a person who both wishes to support our valuable local postal services and who hates to write bad reviews, this service is exhausting and irritating to deal with. I've had multiple packages of mine damaged due to being left out in the rain on days where it is very clearly raining and there's a perfectly dry overhang at the front of my building, or them being thrown into random bushes where I have to literally crawl and hunt for them days after I was expecting them, or they would be crammed into my tiny mail box with no regard for what could be inside. I've had mail from both myself and my roommates delivered and opened by my neighbors and even people several blocks away, and we receive other people's mail as well. I've had Christmas gifts from family members arrive in February; any time sensitive documents I try to send have always arrived past due. I've tried to politely speak about any of these issues through customer service, whether online or through the phone, and the best outcome is that absolutely nothing is changed. I work in food service myself, and could never dream of being as confusing and unprofessional as they were to me. I'm frustrated that I'm having to request refunds and reorders for at least the sixth time because my package either never arrived or arrived damaged. This postal service is literally the worst part about living in this area, and I'm hopeful that in my future residence I don't have the displeasure of being under their services again. I really do understand that it can be a difficult and taxing job, but please do not make your difficulties and tiredness ours, and please make even a little effort to ensure parcels are delivered safely and timely.

How is it? I have a PO Box there and still have not received my packages...AMAZING!! then call the 800 number and get the run around... They know exactly what their doing and could care less. Thanks for sticking it to me! UPDATE 9/6/23 So I had TWO packages delivered by UPS on 9/1/23, signed for by a postal employee working the dock, so you figure I would get both my packages correct? Nope!! Once again, the "good folks" at the MOST RATCHET POSTAL FACILITY known to mankind apparently played God or decided they would look better in my items than me!! Then I get all this nonsense from callbacks saying everything except what it was!! Someone went shopping!! Amazing how they can stack their check and just TAKE from folks who conduct business there!! It's POINTLESS to call the 800 number or get a serious follow-up as all POSTAL EMPLOYEES just lie and blame it on someone or something else. I've never seen a place where they come to WORK, not to WORK!! RATCHET like you've never believed. There is no point in attempting to contact the "District Manager" for Chicago 1 (region), it's all A JOKE!!

(Almost) lost 2 pacakges in 2 weeks. First one was stated to be delivered but nowhere to be found - but I went to pick up very late at night, and do not know if it was thought as lost or someone took it away - or may be by error it was delivered to the wrong address. For the same reason, I sent the package again , and this time with signature confirmation. It was claimed as delivered with "signature" - while it was left outside the apartment buidling with no notification or bell ring. During this crisis time, this is very unacceptable. What's the point for charging extra for signature confirmation, if the carrier does not actually get to the door and get the signature? How can they mark it as "signed" by the recipient? Wanted to express my displeasure with it and hence the reivew.

Just wanted to ask about my item that was delivered in the area to the wrong address and if it can be returned to sender. Some lady picked up when I called them and assumed that I thought she was at fault for the item's status and yelled at me. I had to explain to her St*pid brain that I don't think she was at fault, and she goes "this package never came to this location" like, no, lady, I know that. It was like she was the customer and I was the representative. I also asked her how her day was at the beginning of the call, and she just repeated herself "JACKSON PARK USPS HOW CAN I HELP YOU" like...what??? Case unresolved, but status is closed, which is nOT her fault personally; I understand that. I just think there's better ways of telling me that she's useless

THEE ABSOLUTE WORST POST OFFICE EVER!!! These postal workers clearly have no regard for the residents or businesses of The Woodlawn area. I called to speak with someone about why I haven't received any mail. The answers that I got were insane to say the least. When I requested to speak with a supervisor, the lady put the phone down and came back disguising her voice like she was someone else!! Shameful! After being so frustrated, I told the lady not to worry about it because I was on my way over there to solve this matter in person. After hanging up the phone, someone called me back. The "supervisor" who disguised her voice was on the line telling me they located my package and would send someone over with it. Dang! Does it really take all of that?

Of all of the post offices I've had encountered, this is the by far the worst one. I had a package being sent to me and on the day of delivery, I didn't get my package. I had to go back and forth with customer service to get an answer and figure out what happened. I got a break through with one of the customer service reps and was told the carrier took the package back to the post office and was there. When I came to the post office to pick it up it wasn't there and said they "couldn't find it" and told me to file a claim. I talked to the person who sent the package and they went to get answers in their state post office and were told that they believe that the carrier stole it. SO PLEASE BE AWARE!! THIS POST OFFICE AND WORKERS STEAL PACKAGES!!!!

For some odd reason, I only always have delivery issues with USPS. It's usually because they couldn't deliver the package, or they never redeliver the package for whatever reason, even after speaking with someone (whenever I call I always get different reasons). I leave specific delivery instructions & still go through the same issues. When packages need to be "redelivered" I never get any status updates, often times have to call around and wait almost an hour just to speak with someone. Not sure where their communication is internally, everyone seems to always be on different pages. Overall my experience has been terrible from the moment I moved to the Woodlawn area. This issue has been constant and although you file a complaint nothing changes

NOTICE USPS Put up more cameras in the back! There are THIEVES working at your post office. I have had 3 packages out of maybe 20 that I've sent or received that had something or everything STOLEN. Once I was sending back a destroyed iPhone to my parents to take back to the store I bought for insurance, but it was in a new looking box so my parents received a USPS Priority package empty and tore open. The next time I was receiving a credit card where the package was opened and stolen. And the last time was my health insurance card. I'm assuming they thought these are gift cards, because there isn't a whole lot they can do with them. I used to run an eBay store and I used USPS a lot and I've never had this problem in Florida.

The customer service here is absolutely terrible. I wouldn’t even want to come within one inch of this place. Workers give you the runarounds just to get you to leave with unresolved concerns, and do their very best to NOT be helpful. Upon being told to reach out their customer service line (while I am standing directly in their store, IN FRONT of someone who’s supposedly a representative), I was not even given a number, or any resources really where I could take my concerns. And of course, the 1-800 line had an hour long wait time. I have wasted an afternoon with this business, and it is very unfortunate because this is one of the only options in the neighborhood. Disgusted.

I have tried to give the benefit of the doubt... everyone has a bad day right? I’m sorry to say, this post office needs more staff and better customer service training. These folks act as if you are bothering them if you ask a question. I’ve been here several times and it’s pretty much the same: *long lines *One person at the front. * A very disgruntled customer who’s mail or package has been lost in front of me. *Rude and unfriendly service. I imagine these women are understaffed and over worked hence the poor attitudes... Whoever is in charge, make a note to read all of these very similar reviews. Support your staff so they can do better. They reflect your leadership.

Can I give 0 stars? Both of my birthday gifts that my family had sent to me were stolen by workers at this USPS. One was a substantial gift card that was not present in my birthday card (and I got no notification about this delivery - I'm assuming on purpose). The other was a sweatshirt. Tracking info showed it was delivered, but it never arrived in my mailbox or parcel lockers in my complex. When I went to this post office to inquire (a week later) the woman said she remembers personally delivering the package to my building and that it must've been someone else who took it. Really? After all the packages you see in a week, you remember this specific small delivery?

Shut the entire place down! One of the most ineffective postal facilities I have yet to encounter. Completely devoid of what it means to be of service to it's customers and community. From the front desk to the letter carriers., I am so disappointed in this facility which is less than four blocks from my home to the point that I will go all the way downtown or other surrounding facilities for my postal needs. Mail delivery is completely unreliable, I have had mail never reach me, especially bank debit cards and other important notices, even after being sent out multiple times. Facilities like this are what gives USPS a vote of No Confidence.

The young lady working at the front desk here was so helpful! I haven't mailed anything in close to a decade. I do everything by computer. So when I needed to mail a certified letter, I, sadly was completely lost and confused. Instead of getting frustrated or an attitude with my ignorance to the situation, she repeated the instructions several times of what I should be doing and just did it when I still didn't understand lol. The only downside was they didn't have any envelopes in stock on the day I went, so I had to buy a padded package. However, for the patience she had with me, it was worth it! I should've gotten her name but great job!

I’d like to take the star back because this office is terrible and deserves 0 stars. We get mail whenever the post office feels like delivering it. Most of the time my packages are delivered late. The post office reports lies that they attempted to deliver a package, when in fact they never showed. Then I receive a message saying the package is at the office for pick up at my request, a total lie. Now I have to pick up my packages that I’ve paid money to have delivered. This is detrimental to my business when I expect something to arrive at a certain time and I have to wait for Usps to deliver when they feel like it.

I never get my mailed delivered from this post office I have called to complain so many times regarding my package are not being delivered. Everytime I'm expecting a package I receive this bogus text message everytime: "Held at Post Office, Retrieved from full parcel locker" what parcel locker we don't have parcel lockers at my complex total lies. Then I get a message that I package is available for pickup when the post office knows that they've never even made an attempt to deliver my packages. I so disappointed in the United States postal service. (When you know better you do better). Unsatisfied Resident.

They regularly place other residents mail in my mail box. During tax season, several of my envelopes were delivered with the top of the envelope peeled back, as if someone was trying to peek inside the envelope. They never answer the phone, and when they do, they put you on hold for a very long time. This past summer, I had an issue with the then current mail carrier, and she contacted the supervisor while in front of my apartment with me. 30 Minutes later, the supervisor came to my apartment to apologize for the carrier's behavior. The carriers for this zip code are horrible and need to be replaced!

I have never had problems reciving mail/packages from the USPS until I moved to this area. When I went to pick up a package for the first time the lady at the window had a nasty attitude for no reason. The mail carrier for the 6230 building also has a nasty attitude. She will leave your packages in the mail room where they can be stolen and won't ring your bell to let you know that you even have a package Update: I'm not sure if anyone else's apartment building is experiencing this but I haven't been reciving my mail and they keep losing my packages

Rude. Incompetent. Disrespectful. Will lose your package. Will leave your package out in the open on the porch. Will not redeliver in a timely manner. Will not answer the phone. Will hang up on you. Will not ring the doorbell. I hope they close this location down. The people that currently work there are doing a terrible job. They are very rude and unorganized. Since moving here I have had 3 packages lost in 2 months. They will give you a run around and you will not get your package until you raise hell or call and file a claim.

You need to raise the moral of employees or something! The lady walked away as soon as it was my turn. And there is still no one at the window. After waiting 30 mins. So she can leave early. This by far is the worst post office I have every experienced. I've been a resident of the area for over 10 years and they have some lazy, ignorant, rude postal delivery staff. I have received so many other peoples mail so often it's sad. I'm tired of calling and going down to the PO to complain to no avail.I've notified the Postmaster downtown Chicago at least 4 times and nothing seems to get resolved consistently. Most often the supervisors are just as sorry as the staff they oversee.

Jackson Park post office is the worst branch in the country. The manager of this branch needs to be replaced. Priority 1 Day packages, which are not free are routinely scanned as “delivered” while they are still at the post office so it appears that they have been delivered on time. This happens routinely! I eventually receive my package usually the next day, but I have paid for 1 day delivery. The manager is responsible for this. This branch is a joke and this manager needs to go.

If I could give this place zero stars I definitely would. They rarely answer the phone !! It is ridiculous that the block I live on does not have a regular carrier so I may or may not receive mail on any given day. Whoever scans parcels need help or retraining ! Tracking says out for delivery and a couple of days pass and no package !! Please get an overhaul on new competent workers who will do the work they get paid to do !! This is one of the worst post offices on the southside !

This place deserves -5 stars. They got rid of the competent mail workers and replaced them with lazy ones. They will leave "missed" notices in your mailbox even when you are present at the location. They now constantly leave all of the mailboxes open at my apartment and leave, so anyone can go into them. Tried calling to see about getting a package that they left a slip for (which I was home at the time), and the lady placed me on hold until I gave up. Really professional. /sarcasm

This post office is messy!! I had a package delivered to me from Florida & she (the postal worker) claimed she rang my bell but my name is not on the bell so how you know who bell you rang? She claimed the door was buzzed but she couldn't get in so she LEFT my package in front of the door & i stay in a court way so anybody could of picked it up. My priority package was marked as out for delivery on a Monday, and it is now Friday and not only has it not been delivered, but the status hasn't been updated in 3 days. In the meantime we have gotten other non-priority mail packages through the USPS. No one has been able or willing to help me. This is a corrupt, disorganized, and disgraceful location and I wish there was something we could to do to band together as a neighborhood and get rid of these fools.

I had the unfortunate experience of missing my package getting delivered to my house by a certain time and I was extremely frustrated and angry that I wasn’t going to have my package by the due date. Davia and women named Mrs.Taylor? I believe from the Jackson Park Post office kept in contact with me through the coarse of finding my package in which DAVIA FOUND IT and called me right away! I was so relieved, such great service! Thank you ladies!

It’s after 5pm on a Friday and the line is wrapped all the way around in the inside and still growing. There is one clerk and it takes her 25+mins each customer to look for a package in the back. As you can imagine people like myself who just need a receipt have to suffer through this and spend an hour in the post office for something that should take 2mins. If possible never come into this location .. Never ...it’s not worth the headache.

They are very rude and are not helpful at all. They need to fire the manager and employees because they dont want to help you. I was about to go off on the ONLY person at window because i was trying to explain my issue and she seemed to not really care and wanted to get me out the way. It's horrible and i will be reporting them to their boss that's over them and see how they like not having a job because of their poor customer service.

The worst mailing service ever. I would rather have my mail delivered by a owl than USPS. and what makes them so bad is they dont care to get better. i mean look at all the terrible reviews do they even notice them. that aside im still waiting for my package thats been in transit back and forth from being out for delivery to departing from the post office. where is my stuff?! if you stole or lost it just tell me dont keep me in limbo!

This place is a nightmare... long what line with just one person at the window..called to complain about my package being left outside which was later stolen... they never PICKED up the damn phone..!! The lazy mail lady never wants to put the mail in the right mail box..everything about this post office Is just getho/rude... had to call the usps 1- 800 number to report them..hopefully they'll be shutting down soon...arrgghh

it said this facility offered general delivery. had an important package for christmas mailed here under the pretense that it would be mailed here. was told that this post office doesn't accept general deliveries and that the package was returned to the sender. what the hell. do NOT mail anything to this facility under general delivery! not to mention that there was only one staff working there, and was rude to me.

Went to pick up my package, ended up waiting in line for about 2 and a half hours just to get told “the system is down“. The staff left us waiting in line with no one at the window for about 45 minutes. Someone in that same line called and spoke to someone who was working at the time, that person was told when asking how much longer would we have to wait; ‘here I come’ and got hung up on. Terrible service

This is the second package I've had that the delivery person marked as delivered and no package has been received by me. As soon as it was marked delivered I went downstairs to collect because I work from home and nothing was there. I went to the office today to check status and the wait was insane. I guess I'll try again tomorrow as no one answers the phone there. Worst service ever. Zero stars...zero

They cant deliver a package when I'm home. You can't have a package redelivered because its not available in my area. Why would they offer a service on the slip of paper they leave you only to say it isn't available in my area ? That's no help at all. Terrible service. Thw website is useless. The phone line is a robot that says it doesn't understand the tracking number I'm putting in. WTF !

I had a package that I was supposed to get in oct and never got it. I followed the tracking and it was delivered to this post office from fed ex it said out for delivery for weeks so I had to call the company and get my money back. Now i dont even get my mail. I dont even get my bills in the mail. I don't know whats going on but they need to get it together. They dont even answer the phone.

WORST EVER!!!! The mail carrier NEVER delivers packages and always marks the packages as undeliverable even though there is someone home to receive it. And if I request redelivery, the request is completely ignored. I make every attempt to avoid using USPS for this reason but sometimes it is beyond my control. Someone really needs to take control and work toward improving this branch.

If I could give them no stars I would. I understand we’re in a pandemic but if people don’t want to do their job then don’t come to work. I literally will watch the mail lady sit in her van and not deliver stuff but when I go to the post office they say it’s on her truck. I’m irritated and annoyed because honestly you can pick another job if this isn’t the one you want to do.

This post office is severely understaffed. I often get notifications of an attempted delivery. I work in my living room next to the window less than 2 ft from my front door. No one attempts delivery they just don’t want to. I’ve also had them change the status saying “customer requested pick up” which is never true. There is also NO WAY to call the office.

This post office must STEAL packages. Many packages have just disappeared from this post office...including ones that I drop off to be mail. What the hell? Just shut them down! USPS stole my Gucci flops yesterday and last week I scheduled my Walmart items for pick up and 3 days later I came home to my bag Outside on the concrete/sidewalk. My experience with the post person was lousy. She is rude at all times. We don't get our mail some days. Checks r thown on porch or dropped n water or mail is stuffed n our boxes to the point that it is ripped getting it out of box. Reporting to the supervisor does no good. Can something be done to improve the service from this station?

Absolutely horrible experience. This is the WORST post office I’ve been to. The clerk was extremely rude and spitting out seeds while “helping” customers. I didn’t catch her name but she was beyond rude and disgusting. I hope she receives some help, because she is the most incompetent person I have ever had to deal with.

This is by far the WORST Post office I ever been to after receiving an email saying that my package was held there available for pick up I get here after waiting a whole hour for my package they tell me that it was out for delivery . Only one person was working , there were about 10 ppl in line behind me . It’s pathetic.

Ms. Green the "manager" at this location was very RUDE and disrespectful. She made every excuse possible for not having the correct answers. Mr. Hayden answered the phone, was extremely rude, and placed me on hold for 41 minutes. I was told it was his second day on the job. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I've tried two different numbers, the one listed here and a special referral number given to me by USPS and after ringing for a while, it just hangs up.They don't know how to deliver important items to residential addresses without making you come and pick it up a day late.

This has to be one of the most TERRIBLY run post offices EVER! MAIL carriers deliver mail at their leisure, or better yet, throw packages over an unsecured gate, which ends up stolen, or deliver your mail to the wrong address! Complain to supervisors who do absolutely nothing!!!!!!!!

I’ll keep it short and brief. When you ask employees to take accountability, they will threaten to call the police on you. What was the crime? Them being annoyed. Don’t believe me? Ask Regina Parker, employee of this post office. She did this exact thing to me.

BE WARNED The postal delivery crew associated with this branch is notorious for falsifying the status of their deliveries. Whether that is to avoid doing their job or to sell/ steal products is to be determined but my entire building is aware of the issue.

Did not leave any notice when my package was too big for the mailbox. When I looked up the tracking details it indicated that they had left two notices. LIARS!!!
