I see the negative reviews. To many of you, try speaking to them like they are actual people, and have your forms filled out at when you get up there. You wonder why they are sometimes rude or slow, this is why. I make the trip in weekly and see it time after time. Christmas week, I saw a woman reach over the counter and take a pen right out of the USPS agent's hand. So, of course, the agent said "Don't reach into my space please." It today's world, a nutjob citizen in a government facility is a very real issue. If you want super fast service, use the idiot-proof kiosk they have. Have your mail ready to the point where they weigh it, stamp it, and you swipe your card. That they speak in monotone is expected. They are processing thousands of pieces a day and I, for one, appreciate the consistently good service I receive. Did you know they'll talk sports, cooking and grandchildren with you? Gasp! Some of you are miserable when you go in there, which is why you may not be treated as well as your parents taught you to expect every step of the way in life. Great office with great agents, which is why I go in there week after week after week. Go ahead, step out of your comfort zone and stop treating them like the help.
The older woman with the glasses at the end is rude and obnoxious (Lavern) I was sick but had to go into retrieve a package every day for a week. She shakes her head before she talks to you. She claimedd package was not there. She would yell at me and treated me with disdain and contempt . She would not talk to me other than “it ain’t here. Next!” I finally was given admittance to 2121 Wood Ave. The supervisor had to physically come with me to the post office to intercede with tough Laverne. Laverne had the packages at her feet but claimed she did not recognize the scan as it was from Europe. She was sooo gracious when her manager came in although the day before she had insulted him in front of cumstomers. She was too lazy to give me the package all week. because it was heavy. Customer servive usps told me package was there. It was at her feet but needed her manager to get her to give it to me ! she treated me like a dog.her arrogance and her meanness are deplorable. She speaks to her colleagues while she’s with customers (calling them baby) she (/he?) is vicious and rude. this kind of behavior should not go on. Don’t take it. Complain. We are not animals.
If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. The employees are incredibly rude for no reason. I was forced to purchase a faulty envelope that was unusable (it was somehow glued shut along the length of the opening) that I didn't realize until after I wrote on it thinking it would be usable since it was on the shelf. I wasn't rude at all but was firm about not wanting to pay bc its unusable and not my fault that the a faulty product was on the shelf. But then the manager held my other packages HOSTAGE and threatened to not give any service if I didn't pay the measly $2. Even if I was in the wrong, this was no way to handle the situation. Like I get you hate your job, I've worked retail and customer service before, but it's not hard to treat others with basic decency especially over a $2 product. I ship a bunch of products and will no longer give them my business. Do yourself a favor and walk the extra 2 blocks to the M street store. Way better experience.
Good location with helpful staff. This location helped me with a very puzzling issue and deserves credit. USPS accidentally delivered a package of mine to the Pakistani Embassy in DC. So bizarre it's almost funny. The lady behind the counter explained what had happened and gave me clear next steps. Then, USPS sent a worker to the embassy to retrieve my package and delivered it later that afternoon. Much to my surprise! I'd given up. I was frustrated and confused, and the workers at this location helped me understand and resolve the issue. They were patient and polite. I'm very grateful.
It is now 4:52 pm. This PO branch advertises that it is open from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. Yet no one is answering the phone. I have dialed twice, and listened to the phone ring, first for 1-1/2 minutes, and now for more than 2 minutes. Not only that, I have not received mail in two days, two packages that were sent to me via UPS SurePost (where the Post Office collects from UPS and delivers the package to the final address) have been "lost" in just the past week, AND I never got a redelivery of a certified letter. SERIOUSLY?!?
Worker was picking her teeth with dental floss. I asked nicely if they had any certified mail receipts, she said I need to wait in line and not approach her. She then started yelling at me saying it's a pandemic. Mind you she has no mask on at this time. She then refused to serve me and let people behind me in the line ahead of me. The whole office denied me service. Toniq is super rude and deserves to be fired. Station manager is non existent. This incident was filed with the proper channels I do hope something is done.
Horrible experience with the staff named Anna. She yelled at me about she didn’t know anything about return and blamed me not providing any info. Then I called Dyson about the issue and then she suddenly understood everything about the return but still complaining to the Dyson representative that I didn’t tell her it is the Dyson return. That’s funny, if she knew Dyson exchange method, how could she not know the Dyson product in front of her??? What’s wrong with this woman?? Worst of worst.
You know it’s bad when you, the customer, are more friendlier than the people who actually work in the establishment. Very, very rude black ladies that work in here (never any different type of race or gender). They should get some more diversity, as everyone one of them acts like they hate their job towards the customer but laugh and smile amongst each other... I also had some sentimental letters that never reached their destination after sending them out last month from here.
Worst customer service I have EVER experienced. These women were ruthless, cold and flat out disrespectful. I asked one question very nicely and was YELLED at. Then, an older woman walked in with a question and ALSO was yelled at. This poor elderly lady was treated like an animal as was I. I will NEVER be coming back to this store and USPS should reevaluate the women they have working. I'm disgusted with their behavior- at least hire people with some sort of soul.
So, I went to ship a package today, only to find a completely new staff at this location. My only gripe is the reaction I received from one of the female staff members after telling her I wanted to pay with cash. She said something along the lines of, "Nope, uh uh, I don't do cash." It shouldn't be that difficult to politely tell me to go to another staff member instead of being so rude. Fix your attitude next time for future customers, that is all.
I don’t understand why many reviews seem to have problems with the staff. I lived a block away from this location, and would often ship many items as a reseller. Every single time I needed to ship something the staff were more than helpful and always treated me very well. They were all extremely friendly and would often greet me with a warm welcome. I was honestly shocked by how nice it was to do business with a USPS store.
Worst and worst postal office. I mailed a package from NY with express mail and it was supposed to be deliver on the day after before noon. 2 days has been passed and my package is still waiting for scan. I called this office since 9 a.m up to 5 p.m every 10 minutes and nobody answer the phone. This is the second time in a week, yes, in just a week that I got problem and same issue with USPS postal office
It is not helpful if they always scan a package as "delivered" when it is actually not delivered and was only in their warehouse, and the delivery person did not even show up in the building at all. A lot of things can go wrong between the warehouse and the actual on-site delivery. Scanning things as "delivered" when it is absolutely not is really not helpful, and I am not sure if its even legal.
The two ladies who were working that day, do not have any education, training or intelligence to perform their function. Specifically, the lady who helped me, was unwilling, everything I asked was a problem. The postal service must carry out a greater selection of workers. Terrible level of person and intellect. It's sad to see the deterioration in the quality of postal services.
I've never had a bad experience with USPS until I encountered this post office. The last two packages I sent from here were either a) destroyed or b) delayed by weeks (even though sent Priority). The women who work there are consistently the rudest I've come across in DC (that should tell you something) and I wonder if my mail was damaged and delayed intentionally.
I live in the neighborhood and use this post office often. Every once in a while I have a good experience here but most of the time the staff acts like everything they are doing is the biggest inconvenience to them despite it being the job they agreed to do. You'll get your things shipped out of here but be prepared to be met with attitude from the employees.
We were in DC for a surgical procedure. I was trying to ship some clothes home so we wouldn't have as much luggage when flying home. The USPS employee was extremely helpful! She advised me on which box to buy, gave me an estimate of shipping costs, and even gave me a partial roll of tape to take to the hotel to box up the clothing. Excellent service!
I’m afraid of the people who work here. Every time I have to go in, I expect to be fussed at at for something I didn’t understand. I’m sorry, I’m trying to follow instructions, please don’t be mad today, please don’t yell at me again. It’s truly anxiety-inducing and I try to go to other branches when I can.
Most miserable people behind that counter I’ve ever encountered. I felt like i was at the airport which should not be the case. The one by the watergate mall, the employees are the same way. What is up with these people. If you don’t like your job then get a new one because customer service isn’t for you.
It’s never a positive experience going here. Today I was yelled at for approaching the counter. The ladies there have consistently been disrespectful and I’m unsure how they are still employed in a customer service role. My advice? Go to any UPS location before coming here.
Very rude and nasty staff. One of the staff members yelled at me yesterday just because I was standing on the wrong line. I believe the current staff members there should all be fired. If you gonna be in customer service you need to have a better disposition than that.
Absolutely terrible customer service. Extraordinarily rude and essentially volatile. I will never come to this branch of USPS again and you shouldn’t either. As someone who has worked in customer service, I wouldn’t dare treat a customer the way I was treated here.
The front staff got mad I approached the counter when no one was in line. Also rolled her eyes when I politely asked to verify the tracking number on the receipt. American customer service at its best. Her entire face screams how much she hates her job and people
Unfortunately, all the negative reviews are accurate. This location has incredibly rude and unprofessional employees. My experience here was by far the worst out of any USPS office I’ve gone to before. Recommend going elsewhere if possible.
Needed to buy just two postcard stamps! Breanna was patient, kind, and ready to assist me! Will stop here again if I’m in the area! Just remember to be kind to all the USPS employees and hopefully they will return the favor!
This is by far the best post office I’ve ever been too. The two young ladies are so friendly, helpful, and efficient at getting you in and out quickly and at the best price possible for your needs.
It's Christmas and the lines went quickly! Sara helped me repackage a gift and saved me not only money but lots of time too! Thanks to all who work so hard to get out our cards and gifts!! Gail
This is the only post office I can recall seeing that is NOT flying the American Flag out front. On 22nd NW right next to 1255 22nd St NW parking garage entrance Next to Martiott hotel
Horrible customer service, no wonder they are always slow, and no one there. Better to walk to other USPS then deal with this people there. Very rude and unprofessional.
the postal worker took my packages from the dropbox inside and put them outside. all because i brought a bike inside the store. since when is a bike a safety hazard?
This must be the WORST usps out there! I sent my package to DC about 2 weeks ago and this place lost it! The status of the mail has not been updated since last week!
I found the postal officers here to be extremely helpful and patient with me even after I'd made several mistakes. Not sure why everyone's saying they're rude.
Its disrespectful and not professional to yell at people…I had an unpleasant experience with Ms.Tensley this morning..hopefully she revise her attitude
This USPS is the worst. Every time I come in the customer service is terrible. Additionally, they overcharge on simple items like tape and envelopes.
Website says the lobby and PO Boxes are available until 1pm on Saturdays. The front door says it’s only open until noon. Get your act together, USPS.
Office hours don't mean anything to the people that work here. Everything was closed at 11:45AM when it says open until 12:00PM on Saturday.
It's a post office. The staff was helpful. No lines at 11:30 a.m. The decor was typical post office. Much better than the one on PA Ave.
Slow and incompetent. Failed to pick up a major mailing when they had said they would, and cost us an enormous amount of time.
I wish I could give this 0 stars. Employees are so rude and verbally harassed me. I would not recommend going here EVER.
A little more politeness in dealing with customer issues would go along way. Answering the phones would help as well.
absolutely the worst customer service, especially the middle aged african american female at the counter on Tuesday.
Always an unpleasant experience with the staff here. Hope the USPS can replace them with machines.
Always closed earlier 1 hour. Law said close at 5 but they always closed at 4pm. Horrible service
I’ve only ever had good experiences here. There’s usually a line, though, so be prepared to wait.
Why are the reviews so terrible? LaVerne was great but everyone seemed friendly and helpful.
All these negative reviews are BS. Let’s look a bit deeper to motivation!!
Tried calling their number for 2 hours with no luck. They lost my mail.
All too typical - only one counter open and terrible service.
Very poor customer service. Lazy and rude USPS employees.
The ladies who work here are delifhtful and helpful!
Worst service ever. The personnel is very rude.
This post office is very good, actually.
Laverne and Sara are extremely helpful!
This is the worst service that can be.
Nice ladies helpful, always courteous
