Had this review in my drafts from February 2023. I went to this post office & I was horrified to see Jackie yelling at a Latin woman who appears close to 70 years old who didn’t speak English. Jackie for whatever reason was put on the line responsible for the passport appointments, which is SO very important to people’s real lives! Jackie yelled at this woman (who at this point was with literal tears in her eyes with humiliation & I’m sure a feeling of helplessness) & said out loud in a horrendous manner, intonation & with very obvious body language how she ‘didn’t want to do this & essentially didn’t have the patience’ for helping this woman who only spoke Spanish. This is all within seconds I witness this as I had only been in there for 30 seconds before I immediately stepped in to help translate for this well mannered older woman. Jackie is a horrific employee & should not be responsible for such important moments in people’s lives. Please put her in the back where no one has to ever interact with her ever again. She even rambled out loud to her coworker in the booth next to her (who actually was kind of nice) about how annoyed she was with this older Latin woman. Which is insane to me, as if I’m not a bilingual woman who understands everything she is saying in regards to belittling this woman. After trying to be as patient as possible with Jackie (as I know you don’t fight fire with fire), Jackie finally gets her mean self up & gets a colleague of hers in the back who in fact speaks Spanish & could FORMALLY help with the process. As I could not since legally I am not a family member of the woman nor an employee of USPS (according to Jackie, anyway). So all this time there was a Spanish speaking employee there?? But Jackie found it more thrilling to berate & belittle this Latin woman old enough to be her mom! These are the type of employees who need to seek some sort of inner peace because they use their little weight over someone to make them feel less than. When in reality it is the employee who is projecting their misery into others. Iyanla, fix Jackie’s life please. She is in need of a major therapy session.

I'm only giving one star because it's the only way to place my comment on this post. They really get 0 stars on all levels of work. Starting with management and going into staff and finishing with mail person. I can't give them one thumb up but I will give them one finger pointing up and that's the middle one. I'm sorry to say, but this has got to be the worst post office in Brooklyn, NYC, NYState, America or the world. I've come here so many times and only had one success story. That only happen because my wife knew one of the workers there who has since left this post office. I can't even tell you the times of waiting on a package and tracking it. It will says online, no one was home or delivered. Yet there has been someone home and package was not delivered. They can't even ring your doorbell. Then 7 out of 10 times, the mail person can't even place a card in the mail box so you can pick up your package at the post office. I just write the tracking number down on a paper and show up with my I.D. Then most of the times they can't even find your package. Just go and read more post from other customers, it's not just me who feels like this. This is the one office you would want to go postal on them. To be honest, there is to many horror story's to mention. I'll be here all day and into tomorrow just writing about this place. Hey it get worst just read on. I ask for a supervisor/site manager to complain about the mail person not putting the cards in the mailbox for pick up and not ringing the bell. She came to the window with attitude. So that's why this happens here, this services starts from the top and works it's way down to the workers. SMH Update 11/27/18 My last three transactions/experience have been very positive. I didn't wait over 15 minutes each visit to receive customer service, the workers have all had a cheerful attitude and they even found my package in less than 5 minutes each time. I almost felt I was in a different Post Office. If this keeps up, I just may bring up my rating for them.

I’ve never written a negative review for any place I’ve ever been to because I’d prefer to avoid getting people in trouble but this post office is a special case. By far, without question, the worst post office I’ve ever been to. I’ve been going here for years and there’s consistently an issue. The staff is straight up lazy, they don’t even have a proper drop off box and they almost never have tape. But today was my last straw, this morning to avoid all the lines at this post office because half the clerks are usually in the back talking and laughing, I went there at opening time. I and 4 other people sat there and watched as 4 clerks just laughed and spoke with eachother with the lights off for 40 minutes after opening time. This is why they ALWAYS have lines. This staff doesn’t want to work and they need a complete overhaul from management down. This place is absolutely pathetic.

First off the supervisor Alfedo doesn't want to help at all. He never takes any of my complaints seriously. I had 2 packages lost this year. I spoke to the stupidvisor Alfedo and everytime he tells me that he will call me and he doesn't. The clerk tells me that he is not there for the past 2 days when he actually was. I told her I spoke to him yesterday on the phone. So I left the post office and called the post office and lo and behold supervisor Alfedo picks up and as soon as I asked is this Alfedo he hangs up on me. I've been coming here all my life and this post office is getting worse and worse with all these new postal workers. I don't see not one of the old schools workers anymore.

I think they’re doing a solid job here with the amount of staff that they have. The service isn’t lightning quick but it is efficient and staff are knowledgeable. Also, a woman nearly passed out in the office today and all of the employees really went out of there way to help her. Made sure she was hydrated, got her some crackers, a seat to sit down, and monitored her until she felt okay to stand up again and go about her day. It was really nice to see them taking care of her, especially when we’re in a time where people only seem to care about themselves or are quick to pull out their phones and record. So thank you for that USPS S 4th St. Keep up the good work y’all.

I was awaiting a package that i still had not received. So i went to the the post office directly to see if someone was able to help me. I was helped by this young gentleman named Alfredo. He was able to locate my package once i gave him all of my information. He was very knowledgeable & efficient. I left that same day with my package. Best experience I’ve had in a long time. Thank you for all of you help!

They do not deserve any star. My third try to pick up my package, my third ruined morning. First time someone started screaming and promising to shoot out, second they mixed up the windows and after having stayed for 20 minutes in one line (it said general requests) they said I should move to another line. The location itself is terrible too. I saw a naked woman peeing on the street near the building.

They do not carry stamps. Apparently, stamps are the cornerstone of mailing items. How possibly does the USPS not carry stamps when that is the core of their business. An absolute joke of an establishment. The staff are even worse. Not sure how this place is in business. Wonder where my tax dollars are going because it sure isn’t to this government establishment.

My mail carrier for Zip Code 11249 has repeatedly failed to pickup my Scheduled Pickup that I filed online and received a confirmation number for. Multiple times, they have marked that the pickup was successfully completed, even though they did not pick up any of the packages. Whoever is dispatching the couriers could not be bothered to do their job properly.

This post office should be investigated for crimes- they stole packages of mine and the entire place is a total mess, overflowing with boxes. Several people in my building have had packages stolen by this location, it’s disgusting. The people working there don’t care about anything, they’re rude, dismissive and of course not helpful.

  • Anthony Perez

This is not my local post office but every single time i come here the customer service is so HORRIBLE! . They also keep making up random rules like we cant use certain packages or have certain stickers on the packages. Never hurd of anything like that in any other post office. This office needs a brand new staffing team immediately.

Hoping this place gets some more resources from USPS. It's a really busy location, and over my 9 years of visiting I always feel like they are understaffed for the amount of customers. The waits can be long so aim for less busy times. Once I reach the window, every experience I've had here has been positive!

Came to buy stamps today and the lady was super rude for me, yelling that her computer is not working. They have very weird vibe there. Screaming, laughing loudly. Didn’t get stamps from her but know everything about her daughter not going to school and all her private stuff. Very unprofessional

  • April Suratos

Came here to pick up a package and the ladies were lovely, friendly, and personable. I observed them interacting with other customers and they treated everyone with kindness and clear communication. They were able to quickly find my package. I was in and out within 5 minutes.

  • Aneta Dudzinski

I'm trying to contact the post office fir the past 2 hours. Each time I'm being connected with automated service, which is terrible. I'm asking for a representative and each time I'm being switched to survey. Terrible!!! Nobody ever picks up the phone.

This was a full on Brooklyn experience. People yelling, angry, cussing — shenanigans galore. Pretend you’re an actor on the set when you visit and it will be an entertaining show. Lines weren’t bad in Thursday afternoon. Pleasant, comical staff.

  • Michael Pratt

I came here at 10am for help finding a misdelivered package. The staff was helpful in figuring out what went wrong, and by 2pm the missing package had been found at the misdelivery address and delivered to my address.

  • Rachel S.

Jackie is the sweetest and kindest at USPS south Williamsburg always has a smile on her face and willing to help even when its crazy busy and people are being super impatient. …

  • Johnathan Perez

Like All USPS locations. Under staffed & long lines. This location caters more to passport applications. Then shipping. Also the self kiosk machine is never working. What a surprise.

  • Pianissima Andante

Fantastic service. I arrived around 10:30 am and was serviced by clerk 41. Extra nice, patient, informative and courteous. Look forward to coming back. Keep the great work!

  • Brenton Combs

Always helpful and friendly. Any poor review is result of the us government and not the staff here. Thanks to Charlene who went above and beyond to locate a lost package.

  • Andrew B

The laziest, dumbest people on planet earth can be found working in the confines of this building. They actively make the life of everyone in the surrounding area worse.

  • Elijah Clinton

It’s so bad and most employees are rude. The self service kiosk never works. Don’t come here unless you want yo be tested. I feel like this location should be closed…

  • Matthew Bell

How can a post office be out of stamps? How come they won’t take cash? It should be easy, I give $1 you give me stamp…too complicated for this post office.

  • Anthony LoGiudice

Took 6 days and counting for a package to deliver from a place that is 2 hour drive away . Unbelievable. Can USPS hire people that actually work

  • Brock Fansler

My home post office is total trash so having a functioning APC, secure drop box (instead of an overflowing cart) and envelope slots is a 5 star

  • Nicholas Jimenez

They told me they can only scan 4 of my 7 prepaid labels……. Out of my 7 years of consistently going to the post office I have never heard this

  • Tory B

Don’t come here for anything let alone passport pictures! I had an appointment one hour and 30 mins ago, still have yet to be seen.

  • Jenna Fusfield

Could not have had a worse experience here. there were zero employees at the window for over 15 min with a line or 30 people

  • Caleb Foust

The woman at the counter went out of her way to help me renew my passport even when I made several mistakes (go figure.)
