Fast commute once you get to the Train Station. There is no bathroom which sucks for people with small bladders and there are no stores are shops near by that you can pop into. Rude people shoving past you on the small escalators trying to make the train only to realize the train hasn't showed up yet and they were aggressive for no reason. Trying to find a seat might be challenging since the people standing tend to block all the empty seats. If you are in a hurry to catch your train forget about it and catch the next one. It take three escalators to get down the the platform. Hopefully the escalators are all working. I had to go down several flights of stairs one day because the elevator was broken. If I wasn't poor and downtown Bellevue didn't charge for parking I would commute to work. I save no time weather I am commuting on the train and a bus or driving. The one good thing is I save gas money!
Okay whoever designed the exterior deserves praise, but the interior is a nightmare. Outside is a lovely Transit oriented oasis in a stadium parking lot nightmare. Bike racks, hurrah! Low inclined ramp to the station, hurrah! Beautifully melding concrete pathway and green space easily navigated by pedestrian or bike... Yes. But the inside... Escalators are always broken, it takes a full 5 minutes walking to get to the platform down like 3 flights of stairs. Pretty bland interior with very little signage. Not friendly to out of towners. This urbanist gives the exterior a 5/5 but the inside is a 2/5.
A pain to get to from most of campus but delightful otherwise. Spacious and clean. So different from the NYC subway scene, but this one does stop less often. There's a lot of transferring within the Seattle/Kings metro lines but it's clean, bus drivers are always friendly, and air conditioned. be careful if you choose to skip out on paying for a ticket (unlike NYC and others, there is no swipe system, you just buy a ticket and produce it when and if requested). There is a $250 fine if you get caught. I was never stopped and asked for a ticket but keep this in mind.
Sound Transit is easily the most incompetent metro transit system I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Constant delays and lateness, broken escalators and elevators that are down for weeks on end, rude staff who harass paying customers. And for all this, we get handed a 54 billion tax bill. Would love if the state or some competent organization would fire the administration of this joke "transit company" and either take control of it or hire more efficient, courteous and effective staff. What an embarrassment to our fine city. ☹️
Sometimes the train takes forever to show up. Lately with covid, it has taken upwards of 30 minutes for the train to show up at night. It is pretty sad how long it takes when it should only be a 5 minute ride for me to get home. It may be better for people to take a bus or uber, rather than take the lightrail right now. Note: This is the first/last stop, so if you are getting on the lightrail, get on whichever train is leaving first. They both go the same direction and to the same stops.
My 1st time take the trip from SeaTac to Husky station due to the increase of fare for rental Car and airport shuttle plus other transportation during the pandemic! This is the final stop. The station staff was a great help & show me where to take the train! The journey was smooth & I saw a lot of places that I have never been to before. Great View by not driving! I'll do it next time to go back home from the airport. After that I took the Lyft home that cut the fare in half!
This was my first time riding the light rail, and as I'm not familiar with public transportation, I didn't know what to expect. This station itself was very clean and sanitary and the train arrived directly on time, though an inspection caused it to leave a little late. However that wasn't an issue, as the inside was clean and odorless. It wasn't crowded whatsoever, and though masks are required for every passenger, it was an enjoyable, stress free experience.
Came to Seattle, WA w/my niece to visit - never been before - and getting around was made easy, affordable by the light rail. LOVE that it was extended to UofW because I was able to book a room by the university at a much more affordable rate than down town and easily jump on the Rail to go Dtown. Very clean, runs often enough (10-15 min) and DO buy your printed pass or load your card - they DO check at random ;)
Clean and accessible station. It does require a little bit of walking if you are coming off a bus. But the walk is smooth and pleasant. If you are taking the Metro 372 bus, get off at the Rainier Square stop to get closest to the station. Google recommended a different stop that would have made a longer walk (always ask the bus drivers for directions :-).
The station is modern, accessible, safe and clean at all. There are not many passenger seats along the station, so I had to stand while waiting for the trains. The trains came on time (~ every 10 mins). The north elevator did not work well so I think it needs to be fixed soon. Overall, it was a great experience at this station.
A joy to ride and makes capital hill, the downtown and airport careless travel. I suggest the schedule should be extended to 2:30 am so anyone clubbing can safely get home without driving. On the other hand Seattle's street cars are a boondoggle and create congestion when compared with our existing metro electric buses.
This station has it all! It has trains coming in and out, stairs, escalators, limited and confusing parking by the stadium, signs with lots of arrows and words on them, and sections that are closed for cleaning or maintenance. Plus as a bonus it has lots of people going in and out. What more could you want?!?!?!.!??!
Good service but bad location. Station is clean and pleasant to wait in but is a long walk to anything of note (including the hospital and campus) since there isn't anything directly adjacent either than a stadium used a handful of times a
The University of Washington light-rail station located adjacent of Husky stadium is well maintained by the Sounds transit systems,an mainly used by the UW Medical center personal/students to commute.TheRealInternetMan …
This station is clean and well-updated. I've never had a negative experience here. If you go on the weekends, you might encounter large groups of drunk college students.I do wish it was closer to more than just the stadium.
Great station. Getting down to the platform and back up again can be a bit of a slog, but the functionality, aesthetic, and proximity to horizontal traffic lights more than makes up for the issues it has.
Love the link rail! This one is at the very south end of campus so I can't wait for the U-District station to open in 2021 by the UW Tower. That will be so much easier to get to for most people.
Historic place, Architectural Master piece and great educational institutions of all time. Must place to visit if you are in Seattle area. Parking is bit challenging over weekends.
Clean, good location (stadium, medical center, Burke Gilman - connecting to UW campus and U Village), security on site. Light Rail is a much needed addition to the U District!
World class rail. Thousands of students leaving their cars behind. Commuters avoid downtown parking issues. First class, clean facilities; indeed, what's not too like?
Perfect location for getting to the stadium, university campus or hospital. Great surface connections to buses. Great for bike access to the Burke-Gillman trail.
20dec2021 MON morning, at the (Sound Transit) University of Washington Station for my ride on the (South-bound) 1-Line. The Station was clean and neat. …
It's been a long time coming, but finally the UW Station is open, and I got to Capitol Hill in around 4 minutes and downtown in around 8 minutes - not bad.
Nice, newer light rail station. North end of the line. Trains run south to Capitol Hill, downtown, South Seattle, SeaTac Airport, and Angle Lake.
Surprisingly good access to the campus thanks to the flyover, great station, I only wish there were card readers at the platform level
This is the cleanest and most impressive metro stations I've been to in the United States. Very clean and designers did a great job!
No bathroom. Why is it that every station does not have a way for those of us who commute long periods to go to the restroom?
I love Taking the Light Rail here. And taking the train to the University of Washington is better then driving.
Stopped by to check out the University of Washington Huskies gift store. Lots of great stuff, fairly priced.
Beautiful new station, easy access to downtown and the airport! Great addition to Seattle's mass transit.
Beautiful station, well lit in the evening, convenient rams over the street, makes crossing to it easy.
Clean station but far from University, bus transfer points, and basically everything but the stadium.
What a mess. It's impossible to pick people up here, there is always traffic. Montlake is the worst.
Light rail 1-Line station beside the stadium, but I half expected it to have purple somewhere
Wish this was here when I was in grad school here. Beautiful piece of design and engineering.
A place you should always avoid. Never go there . Never If you don't believe me, you can try
Nice transit system, but lack of availabile parking dramatically reduces its utilization.
the light rail is really fun but this station needs more buses right next to it
Awesome station. Clean. Safe. Fast access to downtown without parking hastles.
U can avoid I-5 traffic going to sea-tac airport. VOTE YES FOR ST3!!!
Nice & smooth ride for the first time from SeaTac to Husky Stadium.
The station is conveniently placed close to the lightrail.
Super fast to downtown from U-District. Like, 6 minutes
Free gum on the railings and the trains sound nice
Easy to use to get to and from the medical center
Signs indicating train departure times broken.
Easy way to get around if staying near UW
Nice station, but very slow elevators.
Opening October 2nd Saturday 2021
I love it. Reminds me of Munich!!
Why is it so far underground
Just a nice quiet station
Really nice clean station
Brilliant train service
Chill.....ain't no ASU
Bow down to Washington
Great train station!!!
