A woman staff in front of changing room is so rude! I just been there to try a white dress, I like it but there is a black mark, so I ask the boy near me, he is so nice, but I think he is the new one so he asked her in front of me, said ‘ this customer really like it, but here is a black mark’ she was so rude and said ‘that’s it!’ And she didn’t want to check is it another one in the store or any other store. Of course I love this dress and I want it, so I ask the girl patiently ‘ if I take it home and wash it by myself the mark still there, can I return it?’ She rolled the eyes to me and said ‘NO!’ Even the boy near me he was surprised! I think she is racism because I am an Asian girl. I am a loyal customer in here many years and I bought a lot of clothes in here, but today I am so disappointed!!! This is the picture when I try the dress and sent it to my friend asking opinions. It proves that every single world is the true! I just out of the store and writing it in the Melbourne central downstairs

I love shopping at Universal, but i hadn't been in-store in a while. I went in with my boyfriend on 23/10/19 to help him buy some new pieces for his wardrobe and was greeted by some lovely shop assistants who were more than willing to help me. But a beautiful girl called Marcia came and attended me when we were at the fitting rooms. She was so attentive, passionate and knowledgable and helped give my boyfriend advice and alternative solutions. She then called over the manager Tom, who was a delight, and they both were so fun and made great conversation. Totally made the vibe 100x better and we ended up buying over $500 worth of clothes. I just think those two need as much recognition as they can get because despite it being busy, they were both attentive, caring, offered alternatives and made us smile. I work in retail and strive to give service like those two give. I think it's rare to find workers like them and thought they needed to be recognised!

Best retail experience ever. Friendly, passionate, efficient, enthusiastic & helpful staff. Clean & tidy store. Staff went above & beyond to help me pick an outfit today & were honest about what did & didn't suit. One was helping me chose the initial item, another was getting shoes for me to try on with the rest of the outfit, while another found clothing items suggested by the staff member directly helping me. All had beautiful smiles & gentle tones of voice even when I was at my least decisive. Extremely happy with overall experience. 10/10 would definitely recommend & return here next time we're in Melbourne. The staff worked co-operately & collaboratively to help me find what I needed. They spoke very respectfully to each other (which is seemingly not common practice elsewhere).

Every time I come in the staff are always so helpful. The last time I went in, the workers spent that extra couple of minutes figuring out what I was looking for and recommending a few things, overall just making sure they knew what I was after. Eric, Nico, and every other staff member in that day (17/08) were the most helpful staff I’ve had the pleasure of getting assistance from in a long time. (Sorry if I butchered any spelling)

Went shopping here on a Tuesday afternoon for my friends party, and we were really impressed by the customer service. Unfortunately we didn't need up buying anything, but the workers put a lot of effort into assisting us into finding similar styles to try on and were really useful. Customer service can make such a difference to a shopping experience and overall actually enjoyed shopping in Universal store.

Is it normal that the staff does not help the customer to look for an item? I do not care if theres no stock for what I’m looking for but at least help me, then say “I think we only have it online for now”. She was doing nothing besides folding one single shirt for 10 minutes and still not able to help me out. Well, I still give 1 star for telling to buy online.

strangest retail experience i have had one of the workers were singing so loud it was distracting from the shopping experience and the workers were yelling for each other across the whole store because management had left them understaffed - quick fix, tell your workers they are not at karaoke and better manage your rosters …

Y'all it has been a LONG TIME since I've been in a clothing shop with such friendly helpful staff. They're running around grabbing sizes and styles and giving advice and the change room area (which has comfy sofas for those of us not trying stuff on) has quite a festive vibe going on. Will shop here again …

My teenager love this shop and while they shopped and tried things on my daughter and eye were able to sit near the change rooms so they could show us the outfits they were trying on. The staff were so helpful without being pushy and all genuinely seem to live working there. A breath of fresh air.

Both Morgan and Harrison need a pay rise asap. The most genuinely lovely and helpful people. Morgan at the change rooms gave honest feedback on the outfits we tried on, helped us get new sizes and seemed honestly willing to be of assistance. An awesome experience each time we've been there.

I came here a couple of days ago and I was served by the lovely staff member Sez. She has exceptional customer service! As she recommended me different fits to match up, with the black corset top that I was currently trying on. She was so helpful and has a really good eye for detail.

Happy to sell dirty shoes and then blame it on the floors of the shop when questioned. If customers trying on shoes and walking around store are going to make them that dirty, CLEAN THE SHOP FLOORS! Box was also damaged. It’s quiet obvious these shoes are not brand new.

Girl with black hair called Morgan had a great personality and very helpful. Thank you so much. However they lack stock of smaller sizes. There’s so many choices in size 12 and 14 but very limited in size 4 and 6. They really know how to disappoint petite girls.

I was helped to buy 2 pairs of jeans as well as a denim skirt by 2 very sweet team members Paris and Sonya. They were extremely accomodating and determined to help me find the perfect fit, which they did! A really great shopping experience :))
