Very beautiful library, great place to study. Wifi works perfectly, full of charging sockets (about 1-2 for every sitting station) and very very comfortable chairs. Reserving a spot is very easy, however finding it on the map might be a bit challenging the first times. The place is very silent and kept very comfortable for any type of studying. They also offer smaller or larger study rooms, in which is possible to talk and study with colleagues. Overall very nice, come here almost every day, I would suggest this to anyone who is looking for a study spot. If exams are not going so well, there’s a few crying spots, but let’s hope you won’t ever need it. On a different note, there are also a few minor downsides. During exam weeks the place can be very crowded, so make sure to reserve a seat (and remember to log in when you arrive!!!). Due to energy regulations, the space can be a bit cold, so make sure to pack some heavier sweaters in winter, otherwise it could be uncomfortable to some people. Lastly, it often happens that people are sitting in the spot you reserved for many different reasons (forgot to log in, wanted to seat with friends or just disregarded the fact that the seat was already reserved), and this could be a bit annoying if the library is full or if you hate human interactions. But again, other than these, I would strongly suggest the place a recommend it if you’re looking for a silent and comfortable study spot.

I don’t think that with my newly acquired knowledge from my studies at RUG could I come up with a more idiotic way for students to print things. Because god forbid I could just quickly print what I need and pay with my card when the job’s done. No, better charge my student card first with 5, 10, 15, or 20 euros without even knowing what the printing will cost me, and the charging process not supporting Revolut. Once your student card is charged with money, you can’t get the money back, lol. But you can have you bank account automatically charged when your student card credit reaches below 1 EUR. But hey at least they have Starbucks so 3 stars for that ✌

Nice study spaces, clean, and nice selection of books. However, the service at the desk is terrible. The book borrowing self-service didn't work when I tried to use it so I asked for help. Never was I so rudely treated. I asked the most normal question in a polite way and was looked at and treated as if I would be the weirdest dumest person. And the funny thing is, it is the second time happening there. It feels like the people working there hate their lifes and by extent treat their customers like garbage. Very sad, because such treatment is so unnecessary.

I really do enjoy studying here, fine facilities, study-friendly atmosphere, nice and clean. I personally like the coffee scent so the Starbucks store on the ground floor does give a plus :D There are plenty of spaces if you bring your own laptops, PCs are more limited, so first come first serve. But unless it's exam period, you should be able to find a PC for yourself. Otherwise, bring your laptop and pick a spot that you can enjoy the sunset while studying seems to be just fine :D Also, fast internet haha

The vending machines are straight up Kafkaesque. Other than that, a pretty good spot for studying. The reservation system is nice, would be even better if studios could be reserved more often. Hygiene can be a problem but that's more the fault of students. Haven't been forced to interact with staff, which is a good thing, since that means everything's goes smoothly in general.

Wonderful terrace on the fourth floor with lovely sunsets and comfortable coffee rooms. Everyone complains about the people smoking, I complain about the free-smoking areas. What is the point? It is outside the library so it should not bother, and the signs only make you smoke five meters away, therefore the only change is that the cloud of smoke moves a bit.

Currently undergoing renovations (the 3rd and 4th floor are already finished) the University of Groningen library offers a quiet place to study. There are private study spaces available but they are usually already taken during peak hours. Please note you might need your RUG card to make use of the library.

Beautiful sunsets on the terrace. Modern facilities and good atmosphere. Staff is quite friendly. Generally clean, but could be better (toilets in the afternoons). However, the process of borrowing books is quite strange and SmartCat is just a mess. Also, the gates are often not working

I like the library itself, but still smoking prohibited law in front of the library is not respected and nobody from the staff doing anything about it, basically you have to go through the nasty smell of cigarettes when you go in and out of the library. So annoying.

Well-equipped and spacious place to study. Bathroom stalls are perfectly comfortable (even have sanitizing spray so you can wipe the seats!) However, the coffee machine runs out very often. The water fountains are also still not fixed, it's been a year!!

I really like the place. Spent the best of time there. The library is quiet and staffs are really friendly. There are all facilities available to ensure a good environment for studying. I would definitely recommend going to this place for study!

Nice place to study in quiet. There is wifi and a large amount of places to study. There could have been a bit more clear instructions on where to find your seat and unfortunately not every place has access to electricity.

  • Dennis Martin

Great university library with all the assets and infrastructure for a student to thrive. The book ordering system is a bit tricky if you are not familiar with it though

  • Frits Haverkamp

I enjoy staying here studying! All the facilities are good and the study atmosphere is pretty excellent. Maybe there should be more computers available haha!

  • Vinicius Barbosa

Confy environment. Good tables, chairs, cheap coffee for students (douwe egberts machine) and opens from early in the morning until late at night

One needs to consider what to wear to the UB as it's either quite cold or really hot. Also, it is way too busy during exam weeks :(

  • Jojo Schutte

  • Femmy Hoekstra

Pretty good, but quite often crowded. I do think they could turn up the heating more often, it's usually pretty cold …

  • Maaike Groeneveld

Fijne rustige studieplek, goede faciliteiten en fijne openingstijden! Bij vragen wordt er altijd vriendelijk geholpen :)

  • Joanna Sowińska

It’s a nice place to study, but please please please, switch on the heating! it’s freezing in here!

  • Sayeduzzaman Rayan

It's relatively quiet, stocked well with academic books and in a nice location of the city

  • Bankole Akinfolarin

It's such a good, neat, beautiful and well stocked 21st century library.

  • Jelle Blauw

Fijn studeren zo!

  • Max

Great place to study. Can be quite busy during exam time.

  • Diego M

Lekkere studieplek. Bijzonder zuur personeel.
