MILITARY STAY AWAY!!! One Star because it doesn't allow Zero. I've given them the benefit of the doubt for two years & Veterans are taken advantage of here. It's all about their numbers. DO NOT bring your GI Bill here for two reasons; they will abuse your funds AND they don't know how to process the paperwork. Not only does it take months to receive your education benefits but their excuse is always, "The VA always takes this long, it's not us." Really? I never had this delay with my other two universities since the start of the Post 9/11 back in 2010. They don't submit your certification, if they remember, until the third week of attendance to ensure you don't drop the course. Classes start at over $1300 and they only offer 5 week classes. All books are electronic so you pay for something you no longer have access to after your 5-week class. Then if you get on their bad side they will, out of nowhere, come up with this excuse that there are no more "on campus" courses available so you're required to take online only courses which cuts your BAH in half and then again, they forget to update the VA so you're stuck with possible back pay or no pay the next class. Don't EVER take a break from classes, even if the class you want to take is not available at that time, because after a 14-day window you must submit an "Appeal for Re-entry" to get approved from the advisors where it took them SIX MONTHS (Jan 2017-June 2017) to get me in classes again. Oh yeah, and coincidentally they have a 6-month penalty where you cannot get back into classes after any gaps in your schedule without this appeal. I've had my academic advisor sign me up for the wrong class retaking a class so I paid out of pocket while my financial advisors (yes, plural, there's been at least three) withheld my Financial Aid from the academic year prior making every excuse in the book so that I had to begin email communication to track their excuses and escalate it to supervisors. First, they claimed it was lost, then they said it was a glitch in the system, NOW they claim, after I had to fill out a Credit Balance Request to have my Pell Grant disbursed to me, that every time the deposit gets closer there's another excuse for delay in payment. Funny that each time monies are to be distributed to me it's not until my class is complete so that I have to sign up for another class with them to continue the processing of my delayed funds. Kind of like that Statefarm commercial with the old man fishing the dollar in front of your face. Keep in mind that I screen shot my student portal where it states that I elected NOT to have funds withheld from me due to the VA benefits being a 100% guaranteed tuition payment. It's nice that they gave me the option, but this doesn't stop them from withholding my Pell Grant with no reasoning for it other than they can. I've been completely taken by their disregard for my education and the handling of my VA benefits. Instead of being encouraged to further my education as a single parent, I seem to have been taken advantage of and disrespected. As long as this is posted for all students, not just Veterans, I hope you heed warning. God Bless.
I wish I would of done more research before attending this school, at first it wasn't that bad, and the promise of two years and I will have my Bachelor's degree was to good to pass up. After being here for a couple of years and still have about another year still to go … The building its self is under constant construction, so during presentations and lectures you hear nothing but the construction going on. Half of my instructors have no idea what they are teaching, and just read the book a day or two before the start of class. Most of my classes, the students were helping out the teacher, and a couple of the classes the students stepped in to be the teacher. For the financial advisors and academic advisors, that is a complete hit or miss. My first advisor had me in classes that I didn't even need to be in, and whenever i tried to reach her, she was ALWAY on "vacation". I finally had to call and complain and ask multiple times to finally get a new advisor. When/If you get a good teacher, the classes are good, but you will more than likely be put into a group that does little to no work what so ever until the last second. The only good thing about UOP in San Antonio is that mamacita's is across the street for a well needed margarita after class, due to trying to understand what assignments are due when and what needs to be put in them.. cause you will never get the same answer …ever
No rating for this scam of a university. I took numerous classes online at UOP a few years a go and I have 1 class that the unprofessional professor failed me in. Mind you I have A's and B's in all my other classes. I appealed the class because I was not able to finish and wrote letters and received correspondence thinking this issue was resolved. What do you know...I go to register for school and complete my degree and I cannot obtain my transcript from these con artist because they are reporting that I owe them over $2K for this class. I will NEVER refer anyone to this scam of a school and I hope they get what they deserve like all the other scamming schools (close their doors)!
I've only gone to this specific spot a couple times to in-process, but service was okay. They are specifically there for business. My academic advisor at this place knew what he was doing except he didn't know a few questions about military related academics. My advisor kept encouraging me to come to the building and even tried to get me to do the classes there instead of online. I didn't like that, almost felt like a picky car dealership salesman.
I’m in this school and whenever I ask a question to the teacher she just gives me a warning and letters to parents for asking a question Really? And nobody learns by that also if they continue this racket they will get even more horrible reviews.
Why is this University so bad at reviews. I thought it was suppose to help people succeed in life, but yet it's doing the opposite which is setting you back on your future. Was gonna attend here but I'm glad I had a chance to do research.
What a joke
