Not gonna lie, love this school. Very diverse which is something I like seeing. But college is a time when children become adults, and also learn where they fit in society, Along with where they fit on their political views. I used to consider myself very Democratic growing up. But now that I've had time to explore the right, I find myself more right winged centric. This school is VERY divided. But weighs a lot to the left in it's students and professors. I walked into the library today to see an entire section dedicated to public student art that is more or less the physical embodiment of an echo chamber(when one party only tells why their viewpoints are correct and the other side is wrong). Posters, board games, flip books, all dedicated to misnaming the United States as haters of all other places but their own. Trump hate propaganda covered the walls, and the school supported this hate to the president. Now, I'm not the biggest supporter of Trump, he is not the best human being on Earth. But I don't think anyone deserves an entire floor dedicated to hating you. It's just inhumane and hurts my heart for this beautiful country. TL:DR : good schooling, but really hates modern America and Right winged politics.

Housing options are terrible, expensive and far from classes. It’s very disorganized and unable to meet student demand. Food options are the worst in the country with little variety. Lassonde is the only place on campus where you can get excellent sandwiches but they are expensive. PHC is dreadful, dirty and the food is consistently awful. Campus security is appalling with 2 shootings in a year. The recent shooting was preventable and the school should take responsibility for its negligence. Many of the gen Ed classes are ridiculously difficult and don’t match up to the school’s ranking. If Utah wants to improve their ranking, they need to retain students, not repel them. Improve housing, campus security, food and hire professors who want students to succeed rather than those who want to profit off them or not care at all. Favoritism towards protected groups is over the top, keeping many students from enjoying leadership opportunities on campus. The pollution is like LA which keeps you from enjoying the outdoors more often than not. There is potential for the school to be better but leadership needs to change beginning with President Watkins.

Had a very positive and moving experience here. The professors, colleagues, and students I met helped me push myself to reach levels I never before knew were possible. There is a good level of academic rigor here--expect to work hard, especially if you are studying in a STEM field. My experience with the Chemistry Department was excellent and I received a fantastic education--but I worked my butt off too! I secured AWESOME work (University of Utah Hospital), research (UUHC, Veteran's Affairs) and personal connections (professors, colleagues, students) while I was studying here. This is the benefit of having such a large, inclusive, and connected campus--with Research Park, the U of U health care system, etc. I will cherish the great memories and lifelong friends I gained while being here.

University of Utah is great school and not a bad place to work. Would give it five stars but working at the U if you don't bring a lunch every day it's food desert with not may please to go eat no time go to the sneak over to the union building the bosses will not let us go to working on student housing. Don't like the greasy pie and burnt out on subway and don't like 7-11 or the greasy b&d burger or over price greasy niackaboker. This pace is food desert. If I was a student in the dorms with no full kitchen I would starve or eat to much fast food the by the time I was done with my .education I would have heart problems and diabetes and be flat broke and in deat eating all grassy spones around the campus.

I wanted an education & to advance my career, so I took just the coding bootcamp alone at U of U & then got in bone-crushing debt, was told by my counselor that financial aid was just not an option because the course is certification / trade based, OK. I was on my own as far as finishing the course, since the course was digital it was always a whole process to talk to a professor and get tutoring it had to be prescheduled, rather then if they did the class in person so I could just briefly pull the instructor aside or raise my hand like “hey is this how this works”. Look up the loan agency they use for this Climb Credit!!!!!! Very suspicious. thanks university of utah

Not really worth considering its tuition price. For many classes you will be thrown in a classroom with 160 people and a graduate teacher with no big experience. And there is really no reason for you to take most of the generals, which just end up working as way for the U to make a good profit of you. You should also check some safety incidents from the past couple of years here. There were like 2 students being murdered, multiple sexual assault problems, etc. Also, check your major's quality at the U. Programs in Med school, computer science and engineering tend to be featured, but most of them are very average. Extracurricular activities made my experience better.

I gave University of Utah orthopedic center two Stars because I had a real frustrating experience today. I called and made an appointment for a physical therapist, a doctor I have been seeing. He wasn't available at a clinic that I normally see him at so they said I could see him today at the University of Utah orthopedic center. I spent an hour driving to go to the appointment and I show up and they take me back and it wasn't the doctor. It was a nurse assistant. I said I made an appointment to see the doctor and they said well he's not here today. I left and told them I wasn't paying for the visit.

As much as I want to love attending this school, there are a lot of disappointments. They seem to have a school-wide attitude of "on campus" only despite it being 2020. Very few, if any online courses. Only one local satellite campus with very few options. Academic advisers require in person meetings; stunned by this one. Not what I would consider a 21st century approach. If you have any other responsibilities besides attending the University, I suggest a different, more flexible school. As a full time parent and holding a full time job, this is not a great option. Might lower it to one star later.

It is a great venue inside is great, clean, staff is helpful and friendly. My only complaint is handicap parking is not enough. I go for women's basketball. There are very few spectators, and 2 handicapped spots closest to building. There are over 20 parking spots reserved for big donors or head up persons in the college. The other handicap spots are in the terrace or small lot to the west. For some those spots are close enough but for others it is very far away. I think the college needs to rethink there disabled parking for the benefit of all patrons, including the disabled.

Today I was at the neuroscience department to get botox injections in hopes it'll help my headaches and other pain. The staff was all very kind and friendly. The center itself is absolutely beautiful. Lots of great art just like at all University buildings. While I haven't yet experienced relief, I've only had two sessions and they say it takes at least 3 to get results. So here's hoping. They have working knowledge of hEDS which can be incredibly difficult to find. This is especially important when it comes to botox as if it's done wrong, it can worsen my condition.

Time and time again, I have been shown that the University of Utah does not care about the students as much as they care about the money. Being a student there you are just a name and tuition bill. Yes, some professors care and are amazing of course, but the university as a whole could use some compassion. All I have benefited from is the being able to say I have a BS, not anything I spent thousands of dollars learning. Id like to see a change. Alternately, I think the hospital and clinics do great work. Have enjoyed all those experiences

This is a wonderful School, if you want to go to a school that focuses on research this is the place for you, they are rated fairly high and many different fields, if you are a student here or married to a student the student housing is pretty affordable, and although it is not a 24-hour fitness center they do have a phenomenal fitness center as well. If you are driving just be aware that you do have to pay for parking at the gym, or pay for a pass to park on campus. You have access to buses and there are many tram stops on campus.

Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday are move in day for students staying at the Sage Point Dorms. Again the elevator is not working. All the students and family members helping them move are having to use the stairs. I feel sorry for the students & parents who are moving to the fourth floor. This is rediculous. Parents are paying a good chunk of change for their child to stay @ Sage Point. So FIX THE DAMN ELEVATOR!!! or give the parents a discount on the rent. I'd prefer not leaving a star but I don't have that option.

Couldn't be more impressed. The Dr's. And nurses were great. We had 2 appointments back to back because I we live in Blackfoot and it was nice that, that was do e for us. Each appointment we had little to no wait time, everything thing went quickly. This is a well organized and managed facility, which says a lot for such a large establishment. Can't say enough about the Doctors and nurses here felt like we were important to them and I thank you for that. Was well worth the drive

Amazing school. For its size, it has so many opportunities for STEM students. There’s a lot of research dollars and even undergrads can get involved in research. All the professors and faculty I have gotten to know are really passionate about mentoring students. It’s a fun environment for undergrad and graduate school. And the access to the outdoors from the U is unbeatable. It’s really easy to find some friends to spend time with in the mountains or in the desert. 5/5!

  • Timothy Fitzgerald

It has a fine name, but that's a lot of what you pay for here. I am a firm believer that you get what you are willing to put in when it comes to education, but I also feel like the administration is more or a corporation than anything else. The professors are great, but I would argue that they are treated similar to how the students are treated. Also, the campus is designed as if the architects weren't allowed to see the other buildings before they began.

My kids have attended the University of Utah Volleyball camps. The program director is fantastic and uber sensitive about keeping our kids safe and secure. This is an outstanding program for your little ones just learning basics or for those who know how to play but could work on perfecting their skills. I'm an alumni of the U. Many in my family are also alumni or soon to be. It's a great school with many different educational disciplines to choose from.

  • Stephen Lewis

I entered the emergency room twice, then spent 2 weeks in their care. Probably the best hospital situation I've ever encountered, and none of those are good. The nurses, docs, emergency room personnel were awesome. All of them helped me to be comfortable. They were professional, knew their jobs and I could tell were well trained. I felt completely comfortable in their care. I'm glad I chose to drive there and not go to a closer, local hospital.

  • Josh Behunin

I have nothing against the team or student body. I just hate the campus. It’s so spread out and inconsistent very easy to get lost.Parking for a game or event is impossible. One nice thing is there is a traxx station which does help and gives students a gateway to down town salt lake. The only question I have is,is fort Douglas part of the campus or not I have absolutely no clue. The hospitals are also nice and very state of the art.

  • Nathan Weyburn

I love the UTE'S football program. What you will find differently here is the music from the pep band is great. The DJ is up with the great picks to get the crowd hyped up. The mascot is funny and gets the fans going. The food choices of the consessions were great; expect to pay stadium prices though. Jersey Mike's, $20 for a 8" sandwich, a drink and a bag of chips. The entertainment is amazing and I would recommend going to a game.

  • Colton Gardner

I've loved my 4 years at the U and would recommend it to all if it weren't for the steep tuition costs. Be aware that once you are in upper division courses, tuition and fees can almost double. Otherwise amazing school with close access to the mountains and great services for students. Professors are top notch, except for the occasional inexperienced graduate student instructor whose English is hard for students to understand.

  • Stephen Petersen

As an engineering student I feel like we fall victim to the research university mentality. That teaching students is a secondary concern to research and it shows in the turn around time for assignments. And how teachers prepare for lectures. I honestly wouldn't recommend it to a friend nor would I stay if it didn't mean extending graduation by multiple semesters. Overall I'm not impressed in the increased cost of tuition.

  • Michael Dutton

My cousin got surgery in this hospital and I can assure you they took care of patient very well. And customer care is very helpful as well as general cleanliness is amazing! Great hospital for any kind medical needs and they take any medical card. Or the work with any networks secured building, No loitering, with Security checkpoints and stuff. Just within the price charged co-pay for medications providers prescribed.

  • patrick shanahan

My wife visit to the doctor yesterday and since he is a Medicare patient was basically treated that way. I don’t think she got her $45 worth. Ask her if she had anything and said she would have to be operated on and that’s all good news but she said she talk to him for about two or three minutes. I think he should’ve explained in detail what the problem was. My Wife got more information from Google and the doctor.

  • michael stephens

I love the U of U!! Since I was a child we played in the fountains at the library. Took classes and enjoyed them very much!! My son got his bachelor's in kinesiology there and loved it. My father got a teaching degree there. My sister got a Pharmacy degree there. My daughter is currently getting an engineering degree there. My sister got a math teaching master's there. Excellent University!! Love it!!!!

  • Bodi Brown

The campus of the University of Utah is gorgeous and very inviting. Campus is always bustling with activity. There is a palpable feeling of excitement and passion in learning everywhere you look. Students are very nice and are eager to help when you are lost or have any questions. Instructors are kind and work with students as peers instead of treating them like children.

  • Colleen Hatfield

I really like all of the personnel that i have interacted with at the U of U. They are very caring, like old friends. And they are very good at what they do. I am being treated for arthritis and chronic nerve pain. They have been GREAT! If you have extreme pain and don't like narcotics, try to get a referral to the pain clinic at the U of U!!!

  • Sean E

Large campus with many of the buildings looking brand-spanking new. Something very unfortunate, however, is the lack of parking. Besides that, the school spirit is amazing, and the academics fit a wide range of people, whether you're looking for rigor (oh yeah, the professors here are awesome btw), or something that's manageable.

  • Ramol Desnag

The U.O.U has a long & proud history as an institution providing quality education in a wide range of academic fields. Its campus facilities & classroom capacity have grown a lot over the years, taking with it some of its natural beauty. Yet, my campus visits continue to be invigorating & therapeutic, both mentally & physically.

  • Hannah Mittelstaedt

Had a nursing conference at the Marriott hotel on the U campus. The hotel was phenomenal. Very nice venue. Plenty of space for us all in the ballroom and plenty of space for the vendors. Outdoor access during breaks to walk around the gorgeous oak trees and peak at the stream running through the back. Would definitely go back!!!

  • Christopher Williams

The University of Utah is an excellent place to visit. Even if you have lived in Utah your whole life you should come and check out all of the events on campus. This includes if you were a student or not. The school is surrounded by beautiful mountains and has wonderful buildings and architecture. Go Utes!

  • RICHARD BENNETT

Josh at the U of U athletic ticket office did an awesome job finding me two extra Utes vs Ducks seats for the Oct.28 '23 game. He even physically ran up to the stadium to check that the seats had an unobstructed view. University of Utah =high level of customer service, delightful! Thank you so much! -Rich

  • Jake Steiner

Just a tip for anyone paying tuition in full. I called income and accounting today and was told that if you pay over the phone you can use a credit card with no transaction fee. That means you can get cash back on your tuition payment. I thought that was neat, I will be doing that in the future.

  • Dmytro Mamedov

I frequent the Student Rec Center. The facility is top notch. Great equipment and the membership fee is reasonable. Easy access as it is on campus. The biggest downside is the limited parking. If you don’t have the school parking pass it could be difficult to find a spot for your car.

  • Rachel E Stewart

STUNNING location! Next to the mountains overlooking the Salt Lake Valley. Easy to find. Simple to navigate inside the stadium. Plenty of volunteers and staff to answer questions. Heavy friendly police and EMS presence. Very clean. Wish the concessions had more variety available.

  • J Mack

The stadium expansion is nearly done. They are preping for Garth Brooks this weekend. The new suites are looking good. The new locker room is unbelievable! The team that has been working on this really deserve a huge thank-you. The U will have one of the nicest stadiums around.

  • Conor Campbell

Mediocre at best. Most of the professors don’t care about their students. Class sizes are huge. I’ve attended 3 institutions now, including this one. No school had general education requirements as useless as this one. I transferred after my first year. Don’t regret it at all

  • Gary Smith

Parent of student in attendance. Poor academic advisor guidance of student. Undergraduate business school, specifically Dean's office, not helpful in resolution of schedule issue impacting graduation date. Given high price of tuition, very disappointed in lack of support.

  • todd rexford

Helped move our son in today and everything was very well organized, staff/volunteers were all helpful and happy. We have had the same positive interactions in/around the city over the last couple of days. Grading may change over time, but so far we are very impressed.

  • Zihao Lyu

Please set up more U parking permit. I can’t even find a parking lot. There are tons of A parking lots empty and no U parking lots available. What a joke, U permit after 3pm, I don’t even want to stay on campus after 3pm.Really sick of university commuter services.

  • Sam Clark

This school is nationally recognized for their role in the scientific community. It feels like that when you go here. However, it also feels like it's a huge cash cow that's only really concerned about profit. The teachers are nice tho, most of them anyway

  • Andrea Anderson

I'm a frequent flyer, and I've been a patient at the U for 11 years. This hospital and the wonderful doctors and nurses who have cared for me over the years just give me a warm feeling when I think about it. This facility has saved my life multiple times.

  • Gwen Tipton-Wilson

We were at the game yesterday. My husband, in a wheelchair, was treated so poorly and disrespected by the staff that I will be in SLC in the morning at the ADA Attorney office to file an OFFICIAL complaint against the University. Gwen, former Mayor.

  • Jeremiah Robker

The new Ken Garff Red zone is a brilliant addition. Personal televisions, plenty of room for the family with a table. The service was very attentive. The all you can eat food, drinks and desserts were delicious. Great seats to watch a great team.

  • Brady Haws

Go Utes! I have been a season ticket holder since i attended there in the early 2000s. Urban Meyer was the coach when we joined the MUSS the first year it existed. We have enjoyed the last almost two decades supporting and cheering on the Utes.

  • Beck Family

As a student I was so excited to get accepted here. Since then it has been nothing but an emotional roller coaster ride. For example: if you get one hold you have to deal with 6 different departments and anybody who knows the University of

  • Logan Gibb

If you value your undergraduate learning experience, DON'T COME HERE. All they care about is your money and how they can get you to fork out more money. They advertise a 16:1 student to faculty ratio but they crowd classes full 300 or more

  • Hannah Grace

Absolutely love it. Just started here last week - transferred from Pittsburgh. The only complaint I have so far is the parking and lack there-of for students, however there is the Trax, busses, and shuttles so ideally you don't even need a

  • Eston Humphrey

First semester I didn't like it. I'm now on my 4th semester and it's going good. Price is a little expensive for the business college but still not bad. It's grows on your a lot. School is set up to help more younger students without jobs

  • Matt Thibault

I've been able to attend a few concerts here and the sound is amazing. The organ is incredible and I would highly recommend if you have the chance go. The one thing that is a bit difficult is parking. So if you do go get there early.

  • Habib Mengal

A beautiful institute with a wide range of facilities for it's students. The location is amazing to see the whole of salt lake city and getting a super natural feel of a good selection of the place to build the university of utah.

  • Andria Henrie

Beautiful campus, I used my phone maps to help me find the social sciences buildings. There is some construction around the north area, but it didn't have a long wait. Everyone was friendly and parking was easy to figure out.

  • Alex Lee

Not my cup of tea, the campus buildings seems pretty modern. Campus itself to me was just average, wasn't exactly fan of student center. I did enjoy the view of the mountain ranges, but that comes with Salt Lake City.

  • merry jaynes

Husband had shoulder replacement s. They were great. The staff and the nurses were very polite and kind . The cafe had really good food and it has great service!!!! All food and drinks were all priced great!!!

  • Teon Strong

I work more then 10 hrs a day, but having time come and walk this campus, is a "God" send to be up and moving and a great campus to achieve goal and steps and achievements. So worth my while. Beautiful view.

  • Edward Ritterbush

Was a clean and safe experience. They still require masks indoors so there is not a need for the covid anxiety more than usual anyway haha great place. I like any place that takes your health serious.

  • Bryan A. Haley

The Dental School here is great! Really good place to go if your having serious dental issues and need a better cheaper way of fixing it. I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs help.

Went to the concert in the Rice Eccles stadium, they put on a great show. Some of the regulations are a little over the top but I appreciate that they are trying to keep it a safe venue.

  • Michael Jones

Views of the Salt Lake Valley from the University of Utah campus, especially the Rice-Eccles Tower, are breathtaking. What a beautiful campus. A great place to get a degree.

  • Jamie Mathews

I scheduled a test here. Not at all happy that I had to pay for parking. I'm not a student. Should offer parking for free for those non-students using the testing center.

  • Chris Mathews

Parking is atrocious for first time stadium visitors. No signs to lead pedestrians to parking lots. The stadium was nice if you're in the seats. The benches are terrible.

  • Olivia Dotson

I have so much pride in this school. Very professional atmosphere, amazing professors, gorgeous campus, and fun students. So excited to graduate this Spring from the U!!
