Overall still a great University but I am concerned on their current admission process, qualifications and outreach. The university may be hurting for funds and appears to enroll less than desirable human beings that tarnishes the creed and honor of UIW alumni and successful, hardworking and productive students who have high values and morals. I won't go into great detail due to the graphic disdain and harm to especially those of female identity gender but the safety of all great and innocent students is in question and the output of future students may eventually lead UIW to be a less than desirable educational institution to be associated with...I hope whoever is now in charge is replaced with a leader who knows the difference between their own personal selfish agenda and instead fulfilled by an example of one who Understands integrity and creates those who value society as a whole for the better and harnesses their Strengths and Talents for good and growth of all.

I'm neither student or staff, just a passerby who ran out of gas on the ramp nearest the University. I was in my way to Houston from Denver and ran out of gas. I wasn't aware there was no gas station within reasonable walking distance. I stopped at the school maintenance building and Shannon took me to their gas pumps which are tinted with chemicals to be unusable to cars. He then took an early lunch to take my gas can and I to the nearest gas station four Mile's away. My debit card would not work because I used it traveling without calling the bank. Not only did he buy my gas, when he dropped me off at my car he gave me a $100 bill to ensure I would get to Houston without difficulty. If this is the spirit the schools maintenance staff has they have gone to great lengths to ensure all their staff must share this spirit. Thank you Shannon! You were a saint that day?

I was a student and I tried parking my car at this College and i couldn't but let me tell you some people are getting away with a major scam. They aren't students or staff and they took up almost two parking spaces just because they don't want to park at the Airport. I saw some couple get out of taxi and they had a lot of luggage and they were transfering it to this huge SUV which took up practically two parking spaces. I saw no parking decal or hanging tag. It was tough because i had to drive around just to find a space because of these dum dums. There should be a rule that only faculty, staff or students that are authorized to park here not friends of friends. These people need to get a crowbar and crank open their wallet and stop being so dam cheap and park at the Airport.

If I could give ZERO STARS I WOULD. Believe me it’s a severely lacking school that charges TOO high for a less than sub par education! This school is pretending to be a “higher quality” private institution but it’s lacking anything that makes it even notable. There are RUDE staff, INCOMPETENT workers and a lousy library nothing intelligent or helpful here they will just rob you for your money and lead you to failure. Save yourself the time and hassle DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE to apply here. Horrible place and people, nothing is good. The staff here is horrible and totally unprofessional or friendly to say the least. They suck at what they’re suppose to do and you can get a way better education at some of public institutions who aren’t trying to rob you for your money.

A terrible let down. 1/2 of the professors are adjunct/community college fill- ins. Business office employs an unpleasant man whom doesn't understand how money works. He will run you around before standing firm on their ludicrous policy: No registration until balance is paid in full. Even when fully aware that my GI bill is on it's way. The VA is incompetent. 1. Leaves out vital steps, ie. Obtain NOBE A. getting this from command took 3 weeks 2. Throws away paper work after 30 days A. The process will take about 3-4 months Together this will screw you. 3. Forgets to submit verification. Even after I finished it at his desk. Looked at him dead in the eyes and explained the importance of this money. 4. Spells name wrong, Dunkin!!!! Really! Spurs much! C'mon.

Love my college! I feel like it is truly a home! Doesn't hurt anything that I am fortunate enough to be a sophomore going to school with my brother and father who are both seniors this year! This college truly cares about you and you life to become a successful graduate! The faculty will always be around to help you achieve a solid GPA! And the grounds are so beautiful with downtown San Antonio being a 5 minute drive away you are at the hub of beautiful city! I am a student going for a master's degree in accounting and am so fortunate as to find many mentors here! I would absolutely recommend this college to be your first choice at better a better education! As well as receiving financial aid that I have a free ride for my first 3 out of 5 years!

I took the Dental Assistant program and I gotta say I loved it. It was well executed and informative. I was certified in 3 months. And although the program is a little pricey considering its out of pocket, it is COMPLETELY worth it. The instructors are there with you every step of the way. Very friendly and patient. They really go the extra mile to make sure you understand the material. Even after you complete the course, the school is sure to help you find a job. Resume and everything. I am so grateful to the instructors. I recommend it for anyone whom deserves a higher paying job. Anyone can do it. I hadn't even graduated high school yet and i was more than capable. Highly recommended.

Interesting college. A conversation with a faculty member who teaches cybersecurity was funny, fruitful, and informative. However, contrary to their name and Catholic roots, the administration does not have a commitment to being a truly Catholic college. They have a gorgeous church but only use it occasionally due to the “cost of utilities”. When asking for directions, it became evident that some students didn’t even have a clear idea of what a chapel was, much less where to find it. I hope that in the near future the leaders of the college will take a more proactive approach to create something unique and truly Catholic.

They hired an awful police officer that had had 10 different LEO jobs in 9 years that is an agitator. UPD Cpl Christopher Carter murdered Robert Cameron Redus off campus and the university was quick to buddy up to local officials to wipe their hands clean while that dangerous individual with a badge and a gun is still out there, ready to violate someone's rights and escalate the interaction. Carter's neighbors have given statements that he is a person that looks for trouble and confrontation. Students aren't safe here and ppl aren't safe to drive in the area.

****** Bad experience...... suspicious person in parking lot and campus police will not take a report. The guy was trying to take my truck tonneau cover. Parking lot close the Goreman Bldg. (Parking area near Hildebrand) . Every One that works for the university extremely nice/helpful. I had a wonderful experience with all staff. I was late to the cafeteria and the worker helped me after they were close. He re-opened and gave me a much needed bottle of water. What a wonderful place to be.

This was Incarnate Word College when I graduated in the years 1979 and 1981. The College had the best professors and best Nursing Program bar none!!! I enjoyed my years at this college immensely!!! Many of my contemporaries from Brownsville,Texas had very similar feelings as my own!!! If I had to do it all again I would still choose the University of The Incarnate Word because it is the ultimate best!!! With great love for my alma mater Incarnate Word College, Marian Kaye Harvey

If you are an international student make sure to do everything by yourself and double check all the information they gave you before you even apply, and DOUBLE CHECK more if you are a transfer student because thing could go messy with schedule and classes. I would give 5 stars for some of the professors but they keep changing the staff and it's really hard to catch with some of them! In general, the university have some good but the bad are more if you are international.

  • Naomi Pierce

They're incompetent and overpriced for the kind of education you receive. Holidays have also been handled poorly as in the school is desperate for tax money. Some of the classes have a rule where attendance counts towards your grade in a very vital way, and there are no exceptions even if an emergency pops up like a car accident. Would not recommend for anyone.

  • Ariel B

I'm a current Junior at UIW and I LOVE it there. I'm a Biology Major (3.8 GPA) with plans to go to Physical therapy school. I almost went to UT but am glad I didn't because I love the small class sizes that UIW offers and the fact that I know my classmates and my professors on a personal level. The campus is beautiful and I'm close to home!

  • Darling Romo-Lopez

This is a "must see" in your list of places to go during the holidays when in San Antonio. The lights are gorgeous and bright, not like the dim wimpy lights on the Riverwalk. The good news is that it's free, so load up the family, put some Christmas music on and enjoy the drive!

  • Heather Rempe

I would recommend this program to anyone who has a desire to be an RDA, registered dental assistant. The Dental Assistant Program here at UIW is a program I would highly, recommend the instructors truly care about your success and go out of their way to ensure you succeed.

  • David Whitmore

Excellent school with some outstanding professors. I am familiar with a couple in their fashion section; both of whom are outstanding people that really care about their students and others (like me) who they witness creating things, freely offing their knowledge.

  • Quentin Moore

I'm currently paying tuition for a class that i did not take because they thought it was a good idea to send all of the correspondence emails to the school email i didn't even know i was enrolled in. They say they support the military, but i'm not so sure.

  • Cynthia Gomez

Beautiful campus; community and global engagement opportunities; student-centered learning and mentoring; academically challenging and tailored to meeting the needs of today's global and technologically-advanced environment. Exceptional university!

Teachers demonstrate rare skill in exposing and developing the talents of their students through progressively complex learning experiences. Extremely satisfied with the quality, rigor, and results of my education from this exceptional institution!

  • David kepes

UIW is an outstanding institution of higher education. I enjoy the campus, spirit and warmth of everyone there. Originally a mission of the Sisters of the Incarnate Word, this school still reflects its loving and Noble origins.

  • Debbie Pena

We participated in the UIW Graduation parade. We appreciate the thought and effort from faculty and UIW staff to make this day special. The Christmas lights made a beautiful backdrop for grad photos. #Cardinals #classof2020

WOW. We went to see the Christmas lights and they were magical! They surround the campus on all the large perimeter trees. Definitely worth the trip. This will become part of our annual Christmas experience. D

  • Martha Saenz

Beautiful campus. While private university, this institution opens to the public with Light the Way, a Christmas program students work on and contribute service hours. Mother House opens monthly for mass.

  • Felix Ortega

I gave 2 stars because there wasn't very many lights up this year. It's a tradition to go on my birthday, kind of disappointing.
