A superb and unforgettable experience enjoyed on UP AT THE 02 ROOF CLIMB'. My youngest God- daughter accompanied me for the daytime climb ( midday 14/10/23) ...one of the very best most memorable birthday gifts I've ever had ! We were approximately 1 hour 30mins in total including preparation time from begining to end. The climb has a strong PVC fabric walk surface, with just a slight undulating bounce experienced when walked on, but the straight walkway is suspended just above the Domes main outer roof with robust reliable guide ropes either side of the stairway. This being coupled with a strong steel central safety guideline cable to hold onto too. A sliding clip attached your harness and provided jacket, you clip onto the innermost guide cable on the walkway as shown by the guide. In essence, both your equipment and guide cable attached together in tandem with the climb. The climb begins from the main south side entrance of the 02 Millenium Dome, from a south to north direction. Fantastic and exhilarating in a gentle cool dry breeze. Athough part cloudy, clear sunny spells prevailed which made the event brilliant more so special. Yes, a certain amount of physical fitness and sturdiness walking is required. We were in a group of around 20 who made the route to the central highest viewing reservation platform ( 52 metres high) at the centre of the Dome's roof. A full 360 degree view all directions can be seen over London, primarily the Canary Wharf complex dominates the skyline to the west and the Olympic park to the north. All of docklands (London City Airport) seen east along the River Thames. Many other landmarks (some 15 miles range) can be viewed from the centre viewing reservation area ie. the Crystal Palace TV transmitter mast and nearby Shooters Hill in South / South-East London. Our brilliant guide...thank you MARTIN, was very kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and reassured our safety 'every step of the way' during the climb. A video briefing was shown before you start, and appropriate clothing, footwear, and safety kit harness guide clips provided. You can take your mobile phone with you but it must securely fastened 'zipped up' within your jacket due to safety reasons! All other belongings are kept securely locked away in strong plastic blue boxes/ lockers in custody of the staff... and of course you collect on return from your climb. Photos are taken of you during the climb, a keepsake souvenir if you buy them. The first stage of climb has a short 30 degree angle, but eventually spans out gradually in the ascent to top. Downside a little more steeper in gradient but rest assured 'SAFE,' I found all the time! Im age 65, I voluntarily went first 'up the roof' with the group following, stopping with given instruction from our guide at various points. This enables you to enjoy the view and also to regain your breathing. No problem this aspect. Our informative guide told us that the 02 Millenium Dome has twelve yellow steel support masts that give support to the structure roof, apparently each latticed mast represents a month of the year ( 12 masts- 12 months). Also the highest central point to the viewing platform is 52 metres high - representing 52 weeks to a calendar year. Just short though are the 360 degrees viewing... for 365 days in a year? Afterall, this iconic London tourist landmark, first built in 1997, significantly sits proudly on the GMT MERIDIAN LINE, Greenwich peninsula. The shape and design of this unique architectural splendour reminds me of a large coronet, beautifully lit of a night too. All the same, this futuristic jewel in London's crown is there for all to enjoy and visit. I highly recommend the 02 roof climb, all be it daytime, or a sunset walk too if you prefer. Plus personal events, family, anniversary, birthday etc. at request. A LONDON MUST ON ONE'S LIST! Best to enquire and book in advance. Thanks to my lovely youngest God-daughter, and we thank you Martin for the guide to the top of this famous roof. Experience and rating - A1, 10/10. Chris

I went up on the sunset one which was really nice the staff was friendly and helpful and the views were amazing especially with the sunset. When I arrived I had to sign the waiver on an iPad thing which form filling ain't something I'm good at so the member of staff did it for me and read it out as we went through it which was really helpful for me. I also had the drink add-on for when at the top I would have liked a bit more of a choice as the option was very limited I would have really liked a tango orange. Before we went up we had to watch a short video before going through to get harnesses and boots. We all then go outside to get harnesses on and a safety talk before going up to the platform for photos. From the platform we connect on to the safety line and make our way up. At the top we get to look around and get photos and receive drinks we ordered. We had a member of staff do a talk telling us what the things are that we can see and there is a sign that goes all the way around showing you what you can see and some information about it. The climb down was a bit steeper as you don't end at a platform like the front so you go straight down to the ground and get more photos taken and then leave through the souvenir gift shop and walk through the 02. I loved it and I'm very glad I did it especially on the sunset one which was better as it was a hot day so it was cooler at that time and the sunset was amazing I highly recommend doing this.

Hugely enjoyable 90 mins walking over the roof on a bouncy walkway. The first part is steep but then flattens out. We went on a Monday morning at 11am and lucked out with a clear/sunny experience although it was cold. Definitely dress warmer than normal as it is colder up there and you also spend about 20mins on the viewing platform at the top. Everything is provided for you including shoes (we didn’t use them as came in our hiking boots) and gilet/long sleeve jacket. You will get a comprehensive briefing and full help putting on your harness. Our guide was excellent both with the instructions and pointing out landmarks etc. You can pre-order a drink to have at the top. Only one of the 8 couples that went up with us did this. Around the viewing platform are plaques of useful information as to what you are looking at. You can take up your mobile phone but are not allowed to use it until you are on the viewing platform, but then there is plenty of opportunity to take nice photos and everyone in the group was super helpful taking photos of each other. There is also a photographer that takes several photos on different parts of the climb although the photos packs seemed very expensive and didn’t see anyone from our group buying them.

I did the O2 walk on 27 April. I am quite afraid of heights to an extent (I have also been on the cable car), neither of which I was too scared of. Going up was very easy, but you definitely have to have physical strength and energy to do this. The walkway has a trampoline/bouncy material. You aren’t allowed to bring anything up except your phone, so I don’t know what would happen if you needed water. However, at the top of the walk, the floor is grated so when I looked down I felt weak. I couldn’t walk around too much up there, I had to hold onto something. You have to wait up there for about 30 minutes while waiting for everyone else— I honestly wanted to get down at this point. I came down in the dark and rain, it was somewhat slippery and this was definitely the worst part. It felt like it was taking forever to come down and my legs were really tired at this point, yet there’s no way to really take a break— you have to get down. My legs were shaking by the end of it lol. I can’t imagine any other way to get down from here if you have anxiety or panic attacks. It was a pretty good experience though, I liked the view and free-feeling it gave me to do this. I think it’s a bit overpriced, though.

Absolute rip off and awful customer service. At £35 per person for a highly commercialised experience, we also paid £16 for what we thought were 2 miniature bottles of prosecco for the rooftop as shown on the front desk. When we were provided with 2 x 100ml glasses at the top and asked for the second bottle we’d purchased, our guide advised this was the limit due to safety reasons. We would understand this, but this was not stated verbally or in writing at the front desk, and the miniature 200ml bottle on show falsely leads you to believe this is what you are purchasing. We also bought a bottle of water which was provided on the roof exactly as shown on the front desk (not just a glass)! When we returned to speak with the staff afterwards they were polite and understanding, and then dialled the manager (Barry) who refused to attend the desk to speak with us and instead passed a message through his team with a generic box office email to contact to raise our complaint. When we again asked to speak to someone in person, he then sent his Duty Manager Jacopo who was incredibly rude, dismissive, and said we were wrong - outrageous approach to customer service. This completely tarnished the experience for us and we are appalled at the level of service received. Would not recommend!!

Went for 4pm climp on Saturday and was throughoutly enjoyed by myself and my other half. Booked tickets through their website, super easy. The whole experience was well organised. Felt safe and in good hand with our instructors. Safety video at beggining and instructors before climbing were very useful for me. I usually struggle with heights but honestly I was absolutely fine. Gillette and safe shoes offered by stuff if what you ate wearing on the day has pockets or enough grip on soles. Got a safety box to store your belonging. Could get an upgrade for a drink at the top, we personally didn't fancy. Had about 15 mind on top to enjoy the beautiful views of London before the other group arrived. Photography available on two points, we got printed from the first point as the second with the green screen looked a bit silly. But you can take your own photos or cameras to take take photos at the top. Perfect for out of the ordinary The whole experience took about and hour or so. Would recommend it to anyone.

  • Ciro Ragozzino

A great experience, and although it felt a lot longer is over and done with in not much more than an hour. The woman tasked with looking after us, Blessing, was fun and friendly and also knowledgeable too! They provide all the gear for keeping you safe, dry and warm, which you shouldn't really need in mid-July but hey ho, it's the UK isn't it?! I'm quite nervous with heights but I try and conquer my fears, not let them overcome me. That being said the first and last part of the climb is quite steep and can be a bit wobbly and so it made me a little bit sweaty palms and all that. It's large stretches of what I can only describe as trampoline material that you walk on, not steps. I wasn't quite prepared for that. That last bit, as it gets steeper, let's just say I was quite happy for it to be over haha. Definitely a fun thing to do in couples or groups, probably more so at night or on a nice sunny day. We did the 8 pm sunset climb and it was so fun! We even got to see the sunset when we were at the top. You have a breathtaking 360-degree view of the city from the top and plenty of time to take photos up there. You feel a real sense of achievement when you reach the top! The staff members were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to assist us throughout our ascent. They were extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable and made sure we all felt safe and comfortable. They prioritised our safety at all times, which was greatly appreciated. They provide you with free climbing boots and a jacket, depending on the weather, when you go up. They give you a box where you can store your belonging before the climb. We highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking a challenging yet rewarding adventure, or something different to do in London!

The place is easy to find. Just get off at North Greenwich, on the underground, and follow the canopy to the O2 arena. Their computer system is not the best as it hadn't logged our waiver forms, but this was not too much of a problem as we just filled in a paper one there and then. Our guide was good and looked after everyone in the group both on the way up and down. We went up at the twighlight time but you may have a better view during daylight hours. The walkway can be pretty bouncy but the top viewing area is very stable. Once at the top you get to spend around 15-20 minutes which is plenty of time. Expensive drinks are available to buy for you to consume on the viewing platform. The whole experience lasts for about 90 minutes. You can take your own camera/phone but it must be kept in a secure pocket. If not they can provide you with a top with zip pockets. It is worth doing this. We and others did.

Fantastic experience. We only discovered this while arranging a last-minute trip to London but if I'd known it was a thing I'd had been down to see it long ago. My daughter had to change her shoes which was a bit tricky as she has wide feet but luckily I had some spare thick socks in the bag so that helped. She loved wearing their jacket too. She is very active but did find the climb quite difficult but stuck with it and we made it to the top. There's a great viewing platform with amazing views. I've always been a fan of the building and visited when it first opened (shame the contents were absolute rubbish then). The walk down took her quite a while but we went last and the instructor was extremely patient and supportive with her and made the whole experience very enjoyable.

CHLOE!!! what a superstar instructor!! had a lovely chat and session climbing with her yesterday. we went in the evening on a saturday and the service was incredible and well organised. the climb was fantastic and provided lovely views. once safely at the top, chloe ran through some fun and interesting facts about the surrounding buildings and areas we could view from that height! learnt a lot about the city and the area which the o2 is in. only downside is that digital copies of the photos taken by the staff aren't included with the price of the climb, physicals can be purchased at the end which are great quality and a great variety of green screen backgrounds for your choosing.

Got there 15mins before the timing as requested and had enough time to fill in the waiver form before the event started. The safety video was very well made and explained really well. We had Freya as our guide. She tried to be humorous but it came across dry, so it wasn't as enjoyable. Instructions on how to put the harness could have been better. The whole experience as amazing, despite the freaky windy weather we had. But overall good weather, to see good views. It's another way to see London skyline. Very good value for money. From start to finish it took 1hr. The photos at the gift shops were also value for money too. Definitely worth going. Just wrap up super warm.

Great experience which celebrated husband's 60th. We were worried it might not go ahead as high winds were forecast but luckily didn't go over the threshold so we were good to go. Kitted out with harness and C clip which ensured you were attached to the line. Guide was great and kept us entertained. First part was pretty steep but got easier. It's a 20min walk up depending on slowest member. You stay at the top for 20 mins and can preorder a drink. Views spectacular but a lot of places are no longer visible as there are too many high risers. You get your photo taken at various places and can buy them at the end. £35 was well worth it- photos were extra.

If you happen to have read some of my reviews, you may know I do not have a head for heights. I try not to let this keep me from doing stuff like this: a nice little stroll over the O2 Arena. Amazing experience. In summer I always wear sandals and you need to wear shoes to climb over this dome. Luckily, they sell socks here, too. You can't sell them back at the end, though. At the top there is this plateau and you get a nice view from up there. People were leasurely walking about and looking over the edge while I was frozen solid in the middle. I thought the way down would be worse than the way up. It was actually less terrifying. Ten out of ten would do it again ... some day.

  • Sasha Langeveldt

I loved the experience. You see london in a different way and it's a fun activity. It's not too difficult, and for those mildly scared of heights, it wasn't too bad. We had such a good tour guide (who takes you up) and climbing group. I would recommend climbing the last of your group, it means you can take your time and make the most of the view. But I would recommend climbing down first. It's worth the experience, but very dependant on the weather. We were lucky as the sun came out and the rain had stopped. But they do give you climbing shoes, and offer you jackets no extra cost.

Was a good experience lovely views could take our time to take in the surrounding area, our guide Jabed made it even better with his humor by making us laugh and having a lovely personality, overall genuine down to earth person and can held good conversations. Asked us question and then gave us facts about it. He was making sure we was all doing ok. At the top he offered to take photos of us, got the group to sing me and another lady Happy Birthday which was nice. We wish him all the best from Lauren Birthday lady, Sandra( Birthday lady's Mum), Liyah(Daughter)

Absolutely loved this experience from start to end. Extremely professional, Nathan our leader put us at ease and made my husband’s birthday super special. We had an incredible climb with professional pictures taken and then our own pictures at the top together with a glass of bubbles to toast our achievement. The weather turned a little and we were joined by Barry & Andrea for the icy decline which was a safe and organised one. Can highly recommend this experience. Appropriate clothing is available to use so there’s no excuse to give it a go!

Good to know: wear shoes with very good grip or be provided with walking shoes. Great time and fantastic view from on top of the O2. Wish the time spent at the top was longer! Only about 10-15 minutes spent at the summit. Felt safe, secure & well organised. Drinks can only be purchased at the bottom to collect at the top - would be good to be able to also pay for drinks at the top, was a hot day and desperately needed a refreshment after the effort to climb up. Could be hard work for some people climbing up the very beginning & down the end.

Amazing sunset climb with fantastic climb guides Karl and Rachael. Felt completely safe and really exhilarated both during the ascent, time spent on the viewing platform and the final descent. At its steepest point you are climbing at 30 degrees so it is a bit of a workout, but well worth it. Karl was also telling me about all the London landmarks that were visible as the light began to fade and the city lights twinkled. I would definitely recommend doing the climb to experience the city landscape from a different vantage point.

What a fantastic LDN attraction!! Something totally different and unique and really reasonably priced (we used an o2 priority code for 20% off too). The climb was a little steep at times, especially on the way down in the rain, but we felt perfect safe at all times and in good have with Jonny our guide. Champagne at the top was a nice reward for the climb, where we had time for pictures and had the landscape explained to us with some great facts. Perfect for all the family and would definitely recommend!

Amazing experience! We just turned up and got straight onto the next available tour. Our guide, Theo, was friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to speak to everyone and make sure that we all had a great experience. We were able to make our way up and down at our own pace and it all felt very safe. As you would expect, the views from the platform at the top are amazing and it was interesting to learn from Theo about some of the things you can see. Highly recommended!

I’ve been on weekends to London lots of times but this is one of the best activities by far! Our guide was Max from Canada and she made us laugh the whole way. We went for a sunset climb and although it was cloudy it was still a great time. Would love to go again but maybe next time at night! The climb isn’t very exerting and you do go quite slow although it can be steep at points. The photo of the slope is right at the end when you have to walk backwards for the last little bit. I think I’d have even enjoyed myself if it was raining!

  • Carly Doyle

We had the lovely Adam as our guide, he was enthusiastic and certainly made the trip up the O2 memorable! We went up as a family of 4, we had a full safety briefing and all equipment included. Climb up gave lovely views over London and once we reached the top ot gave us time to catch of breath and celebrate with a drink! The climb down was the hardest and I would recommend wearing gloves. Thoroughly enjoyed this bucket list item and would recommend!

Was very anxious/nervous to do this. It was bought as a Christmas pressie by my 4 children for my partner and I back in 2019. Due to covid, we were unable to do it but we were able to extend the offer. Finally climbed on 27/06/22 and loved every minute of it. Our guide, Daryl, was lovely and we spent about 20 minutes or so at the top, managing to take plenty of pictures Fantastic views over London. Would highly recommend even if afraid of heights. It was a great experience and would definitely do it again.

Me and my brother did a 17:45pm last week, this was the perfect time with the expertise of our guide Max to get us to the top with the best opportunities for excellent shots and pictures, Max was informative and a lovely guide who really took the time to speak with us and engage. The overall experience was great, everything provided and extras such as a Gilet were provided. The experience lasts roughly 60-90mins

Had a really good time. Everything was provided for us including shoes. Full safety brief provided. My only criticisms are, it's not that cheap to do and you're not on the viewing platform at the top for very long. The views are amazing and there are several plaques with information on around the platform but there wasn't time to read them before another group came up and effectively forced us to go back down. Photo packs at the end are also extremely expensive.

  • Vivienne Wong

This was so fun and I can't believe I've not done this sooner! The Christmas carolers were a lovely touch when we got to the top. Our guide was brilliant, friendly and knowledgeable. They provide jackets, gloves and shoes, if required. You can take your phone with you, only if it's secure in a zipped or buttoned pocket. If your clothes don't have a secure pocket, the jackets they let you borrow have good pockets! But they're quite thin so do wrap up warm!

  • Ralf Pearson

Fun experience. Did it with my two kids 9 & 12. - Guide Scarlet was great. Having fun but making sure everyone was safe. - Experience took about an hour and a half - If you've done something like Go Ape you'll be familiar with the harnesses, etc -Make sure you bring proper shoes, you need something with a decent grip. - If you're wondering if you can do it, you can.

A fun thing to do. Not thrilling compared to more extreme climbs or particularly high, but more similar to a steep climb. On trampoline material. Our tour guide Scarlet was lovely, informative, and professional. This may be one of those ones where it's more about the company that you bring to enjoy the experience, rather than the actual climb itself.

The view is beautiful but definitely try to go on a sunny day. My husband and I went while it rained so it was a bit windy and cold but so worth the climb. Freya was our guide and she was awesome. She reassured us during the climb through the wind and rain. She knew all about the area and was able to provide so much information about the skyline/buildings we saw. Ask for Freya and add Prosecco to your package to enjoy at the top!

  • Mark Clay

Great experience although it could have lasted a big longer. Did a daytime climb a couple of years ago before covid were in place when they gave you shoes to wear. Now due to covid restrictions I gather you wear your own shoes and you don’t get issued a climb suit, which is a shame a this used to add to the occasion. I’d previously done the Sidney bridge climb, which in my opinion was a much tougher and more superior experience.

  • Terry Nicholls

We had a great guide called Kit. He was very knowledgeable, took great care of my friend that had a bad hand, and made sure everyone followed the guidelines. We missed our timeslot due to the tube station being evacuated, and the staff kindly rearranged a later climb for us. Couldn't fault our experience. Thanks for a great experience.

Go up on a sunny day (fingers crossed) - they still go up in rain and no refund! It’s a bit expensive and if you are used to adrenaline activities and exercise then this will be on the very low end of excitement and a very easy walk up. Go enjoy the view! I climbed the o2 today and it was such an amazing experience, I would do it all over again. The staff there were very polite, very helpful too. Our tour guide was lovely, he was polite and he was very helpful. Overall the view was amazing , the climb itself was actually really fun, didn't even take that long to get up to the top. I would highly recommend the climb, it’s worth it!

An amazing experience - certainly memorable! The whole experience is about 90 minutes long and it includes all the equipment you need, even waterproof trousers, jackets and shoes etc. Our guides were Kit and Robyn and both of them were excellent on our walk! We did the sunset walk and it was an amazing time to go up the view was fab. Highly recommend this experience to anyone

A great experience, staff were friendly and helpful with clean toilets. Order your champers in advance and toast the fantastic view! Pictures quite expensive at £25-30 but you do get quite a few so not to bad value on balance. Everything (Harness etc) was clean and tidy. I wouldn't want to do this on a rainy day but with the sun we had wonderful!

  • Tracey Heseltine

Had a wonderful time up at the o2. If your fit and healthy its easy, great views when you get to the top and the guide will pinpoint all the areas of interest. We topped it off with a glass of champayne at the top. Its a must and youl feel great after. Xx

My friends and I were traveling from out of the country and this was something we had on our agenda. Lemme just say this was an AMAZING experience! The sunset tour guides we had were so great and made the experience even better! The lovely tour lady also recommended some other spots to check out while we’re here. Definitely recommend!!

  • Carlee Field

Theo was our tour guide and he was great. He checked that everyone was safe and happy. He offered to help take photos at the top. He was able to add extra information about what we could see from the top. We enjoyed our experience. Thank you

Session was prompt, friendly guide that explained everything to us and made it a pleasant visit. The climb was great, allowed sufficient time at the top to take pics and videos. Would recommend as an activity to try if you haven't.

Great experience. The climb took around an hour in total. Good views. The instructors were kind and supportive. Bit expensive at nearly £40 a ticket but we've now ticked it off our list so probably won't be doing it again.

We climbed Up at the 02 today as part of a birthday celebration. The guide, Mark, was friendly and knoedgeable about the London skyline. A glass of prosecco at the top put the icing on the cake for a great adventure!

We did this for my sons birthday. I don't really do heights, so it was to challenge myself. It was absolutely great. Always felt 100% safe. Our guide, Rebecca, was brilliant. Views from the platform were fabulous too.

Very good experience, fantastic views. My tour guide, Karl, was very supportive as I'm scared of heights. The view at the top was the very good, even though it was tiring to get to. Overall a very good experience.

Climbed in the rain with my nephew; we had a blast! They gave us jackets and shoes with better grip. Our guide, Johnny, was funny and informative, and made sure everyone stayed safe. Visibility was limited in the rain, but we still had a great time.

Enjoyable climb with lovely views. Kids (8 and 10y old) loved it (it was not difficult at all). Very friendly & helpful guide and other personnel. Felt slightly overpriced, compared to all other attractions.

Had a great experience doing the climb of the 02. The first part of the climb was the steepest, but got easier after that. Guide was good with lots of fact and figures. Felt safe throughout.

It was good as a one off activity, more of a tick box exercise than anything else. Robyn/ Robin? our guide was excellent and gave clear instructions with some history of the area.

A reasonably fun day out to be had, and I got lucky that the day of the climb the weather wasn't inclement. I thought getting down was trickier than the ascend itself. View wise it's nothing to shout about but the experience itself is decent. The guide was great too.

  • Diego Grinberg

Great activity in London. My advice, don't look down while climbing up and hold tight while going down haha I believe the instructor was named Max and his buddy, both great guys very funny and enthusiastic.

Great fun climbing the O2 with a glass of bubbly at the top with cracking 360 degree views over the Thames Canary Wharf and London. Sunset walk was lovely too. The leaders were lively and fun and well organised. Very enjoyable. Not for those who may have weak legs.

Was a great day wiv my 2 daughters. Climb up is easier than going down. Not too bad going up. Was well worth the effort to see the views from above. We would all recommend it.

It's hard work but a fun experience and a great view of London. The guides were great. Shame the reception staff didn't tell us we could order water to drink at the top so we had to go 90 minutes without water on a day that was more than 30 degrees. More

I have been rather critical over the years about what a climb over one of londons most iconic structures could be all about but i was wrong. It is a lot of fun, it is more challenging than you might expect. It is well organised and safe but

Such an amazing outing. Although pricey the experience justifies the cost. The whole outing was fantastic. Although not above the skyline the scenic views were glorious. I would highly recommend visiting this attraction.
