Daria’s advanced skill as a colorist and stylist made it possible for me to gracefully and happily transition from a poor cut and color to my natural color. During this one-year transition, I always left the salon very happy with the results! In the many, many years that I have been going to stylists, I have never been comfortable saying, “Whatever you think will look good, sounds good to me.” And yet, this is exactly what I say to Daria each time I visit and she has never let me down. If I were not able to see Daria, I would feel comfortable with any of the stylists at Urbaca. Each stylist is thoroughly vetted before beginning their internship and they complete ongoing training. I believe Urbaca’ s key tenets are: a sincere interest in clients and staff, honesty, education and training, and professionalism. I drive approximately one hour each way to my appointment and it is worth it. (I have not been compensated in any way for this endorsement which is based on my experience visiting the salon for 14 months.)

Charlie (I should have asked for the spelling and pronouns) is absolutely, without a doubt, awesome!! I was super nervous, as I am a mother of a crazy 2 year old plus I don't get my hair done professionally that often and he made me feel more than welcome. I have never been to a stylist who is so warm and inviting! Most of the time I feel judged for how little I get my hair done. But this experience was beyond what I needed. He was proficient and informative without being a know-it-all, which is more than I could of asked for. He gave me great tv show and podcast recommendations! Asked how my life was going, and kept the time flowing. He charged me regular price even though I know my hair was a full transformation and gave me product recommendations for my type of hair (which I have been on the hunt for). Honestly I don't take the time out of my day to give a review and here I am giving you reason after reason to give not only this salon but this hairdresser your time of day. Amazing!

Brandon Edwards my favorite hairstylist I have ever had the pleasure of seeing has moved to Urbaca salon recently and I would recommend his services to anyone. He is very careful about every detail and very passionate about what he does. He is very talented and offers way more services than I will likely ever take advantage of. I am probably a pretty boring client for him since I am very "normie" with my haircuts. I have never been one for super flashy attention grabbing style. But he is very good at meeting his clients where they are and providing a look that fits their style. He is more than anyone else I have ever seen been able to encourage me to care more about my hair and how it looks, and is able to help me garner compliments from my wife every time I come home after getting a fresh cut!

I came in two weeks before my wedding for a trim. Antonio was wonderful! He discussed my hair with me, we talked about what styles were possible with my texture and length, and he gave me some tips on how to add volume for the big day. He told me that as a stylist, he much preferred to cut/color wedding hair closer to 3 months before the date, as opposed to 2 weeks (totally understandable!!) But was not at all judgemental, which was a lovely respite from all the planning stress. Some stylists will blindly agree with anything you suggest, and some will disregard whatever you say and just cut your hair as they see fit. Antonio was a perfect balance, he listened to me, and offered realistic and valuable advice, based on his extensive experience.

There idea of a bailage hair color is full high lights with soft roots. Which just looks like a bad dyed job with a horrible shade of yellow. One of the main reasons that I pay to get my hair colored is to have a professional bleach job done so I do not end up with that horrible shade of yellow. When I said cut a lot of texture and layers into my hair, the stylist took it as just trim my hair a bit. The hair comes with a guarantee and if you go here you will end up using it. Which unfortunately going back a second time does not improve the hair at all and all you get is a rude stylist and the feeling of throwing away $268.00

Brandon is incredible! I came to him after a few rough cuts and colors at other salons. During our consultation he asked a lot of questions and came up with a plan to get my cut and color in a great place. I have THICK hair and tons of grey I’m trying to hide. Brandon did the best job communicating options and process up front and every appointment since. I trust him 100%. Over the last year I’ve been seeing Brandon I get compliments on my hair all the time. He’s also taught me tips along the way on how to style it. On top of his amazing skills, Brandon is super fun to be around and the time flys in his chair.

ANTONIO is a god sent! He’s super fun to chat around with and had some fun stories to share while he did my hair! He made me feel comfortable and I was EXTREMELY happy with the results of my hair! ❤️ I even got a cute pair of earrings for the ride home! The whole esthetic of the hair salon was beautiful too! I've been going to Urbaca for years and I can't recommend enough. Every haircut from Charleigh has been the best hair cut I've ever had. The front desk is kind and caring, they make the space so welcoming! There's also lots of plants around the salon, which makes the space even more comfortable. I've also been very impressed with their safety precautions after phase one reopening during the pandemic. Everyone is clearly working very hard to keep customers and stylists safe! Keep up the great work, y'all!

Sierra is one of the most professional and talented and respectful hair stylists I have ever met .. she transformed my simple hair trim into a meaningful experience with her professionalism , attention to detail, and skill . I went in for a hair cut very tense because it was my first time and walked out a very happy customer . The place is very clean and well lit and has a zen feel to it , a definite hidden gem. The staff are courteous . Totally recommend this place especially Sierra !

The entire staff was professional, courteous, competent, and friendly. My stylist Antonio took wonderful care of me. The wash was relaxing and through in a comfortable chair with temperate water. The cut was effecient and exactly what we talked about. The style was gorgeous and I purchased the product he used on my hair. I'm extremely happy with the end result. The price is worth Jasmin's magic finger scalp massage! Yes the hair cut is great also, with consistent results. Some places treat you like a king the first time round. Then just want to cycle you out quickly the next time round. With Urbaca it's great professional service every time. The atmosphere is very nifty with tall ceilings and lots of good light. Very relaxing experience I'll be back even after I have left Portland.

This was my first time visiting Urbaca Salon and it was such a great experience! All of the staff was so warm and friendly! I was offered a drink immediately upon arrival and I was completely in love with my hair. I didn't get a photo of it that does it justice bit Amanda added a cute braid on the side. I really just love the whole vibe of this place. The natural light, the plants, everything. 10:10 for me!

I had an amazing experience at Urbaca Salon today. I flew in for a wedding this weekend and needed a last minute haircut. They were able to fit me in even after my flight was delayed. Charleigh did an amazing job during turning my hot mess new mom hair into something beautiful. I had so much fun talking to Charleigh. Wish they were a stylist back in my hometown. I would highly recommend checking them out!

Daria is a true PRO! Never met anyone better! She fixed my hair in one hour. Another salon damaged it and I walked around in a hat for TWO WEEKS not knowing what to do, went to Daria and truly realized that there are TRUE PROFESSIONALS in the hair industry. Antonio is the absolute best! I bounced around salons for years trying to find someone I really loved and finally found him. He’s so skilled and attentive to what you want. Super professional, high quality, and my hair always looks and feels incredible afterward. The cut and colour stay amazing for months and months too. Can’t recommend him enough - if you’re new to the salon, definitely request him!

I had my first haircut by John last week and he did an AMAZING job. I think it's the best haircut I've ever had, and my baby-fine hair is not so easy to work with. The new cut really works, falls into place and looks great without a lot of styling or product needed. I've already booked my next appointment. The entire staff was super-friendly and I would highly recommend Urbaca Salon and John Lee!

The stylists are are friendly & *very* skilled. (They have to do an apprenticeship before they are hired for real). Charleigh (they/them) in particular is great for color & cut, as well as eyebrow shaping. It has a very upscale feel, and they aren't cheap, but their prices aren't as high as you'd expect (& nowhere near as expensive as high-priced, worse, places).

I came to Portland to visit for 3 weeks and decided I couldn’t leave after discovering Brandon Edward. He is by far the best stylist I’ve ever had for my short, curly hair. He has full reign over my hair color and style and I am never disappointed. Besides being highly skilled and creative, he is a genuinely wonderful person. I highly recommend Brandon.

Love my salon! Charliegh is such an integral part of my self care and I love their exciting spirit! (Also my red hair is magic!) The space is open and airy and even on a typical grey Porland day, its bright and beautiful. The rest of the staff is very caring and friendly. They offer so many services-even jewelry! Go here, get fierce!

The salon is in a space with wonderful natural light. Between that, and the layout of the stylists’ stations, it was a comfortable atmosphere. I was fortunate enough to get in last minute to have my hair styled for my birthday, and Rosemary did a wonderful job. The front desk staff was also very warm and welcoming.

Saw Charles yesterday for the first time for a trim. What a great cut! I got up this morning and washed and styled as usual and WOW! I already had a pretty good cut so I didn't think it was possible to get better but it is. He is such a sweet person too and easy to talk to. Thank you Charles! See you next time!

Awesome salon! Urbaca's staff are pleasant, stylists are professional and it's a great atmosphere. The stylists/colorists are always learning new techniques & staying educated. I go to Gretchen, who never disappoints! She's incredibly talented, fun and an absolute pleasure. Briony is also a favorite of mine!

I love Bryony at Urbaca. She has guided me through so many different hair phases throughout the years. She's so kind and also has really really great opinions. You can come to her with a general idea and she'll help you shape that into reality and it's perfection. She's wonderful!

They lied and told me they was able to do my hair and style it the way I wanted it. They did not cut it right or even they did not style it the way I wanted it AT ALL!! Then they still charged me full price!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL unless your old with straight hair.

Rosemary is the most lovely person and she gave me the best haircut of my life. Normally I leave salons crying and missing my old hair, but she cut over a foot off of my hair and I feel so chic and edgy. Lovely atmosphere in the salon and from all working :)
