When I visit Houston, I eat--and the food at Urban Eats just added to my dining pleasures in the city. I went with two other companions, and the dishes were ordered were so scrumptious I ate every single bite, no small feat as the servings were very generous. I ordered the ham omelette with mushrooms, peppers, cheddar and gruyere cheese. The meal came with a choice of breads and a choice of sides. I had the buttermilk biscuit and fruit salad, and have no regrets. The couple I was with had the duck fat potatoes and the Parisian breakfast. There was so much tasty food, and the prices were so low in comparison that I was impressed. A small store on the first floor offers a mix of eclectic vinegars, jams, cheeses, quiches, pies, and Panini sandwiches. Outdoor dining is available on both the first and second floors. With fall finally here, we enjoyed our meals on the first floor patio. I'll definitely be returning to Urban Eats on my future visits to my favorite city. Regrettably, I forgot to take pictures, but the establishment is cute and the diners are not packed overly closely together. Urban Eats is a bargain and a treat!

I really enjoyed this place! Gorgeous day in Houston so we sat on the patio. There is a market downstairs and the restaurant is upstairs. Clever use of space and great set up. I have been here 3 times total and I have noticed service is slow if you aren’t sitting at the bar. I personally love sitting at the bar anywhere so if you are like me, opt for that. Patio has bar height and regular height tables. The chairs are metal and some are rusting. I want to make note of this because white or light clothing would be ruined! On to the food! Delicious! I have never had any complaints. If you love Mac n cheese, please try their truffle Mac. It’s just too good! Any of the sliders, the monkey bread, deviled eggs. All of it. Top tier. The one thing I tried that was new was the wings. Not a fan. Won’t order again but will stick to my favorites mentioned above. Atmosphere is great, very low key and artisanal. Will continue to be a customer.

Update: it’s been 5mnths since our last visit (we live an hr away) decided to take a little trip today The service was a lot different today than our first visit, the bacon jalapeño jam and Mac and cheese was sooooo thick and definitely not how it was the first time I had it. The food was still great but the vibe of the restaurant changed. Not what I was expecting our food took 40 mins to be served and the restaurant wasn’t packed at all (3 tables and the other two already had food) (Dec 2020)First time here and I am mind blown I give a lot of great reviews and this place has left everyone in the dust. I didn’t think I would enjoy the bacon jalapeño jam more the chicken kale soup but I could not stop eating them. The flavor was intense and it was awkwardly satisfying in a great way, I just wanted more and more and was full before my entree came out. The atmosphere is great, the art work on each wall is beautiful. The food is great and the service was just as great. I haven’t even left yet and I can’t wait to come back.
A wonderfully eclectic coffee shop, bakery, cafe and specialty market on the first floor with an comfortable bar and restaurant upstairs accompanied with patio downstairs and deck patio upstairs. You have to valet park or try to find street parking...or just Uber. I love the beans they use for their espresso drinks, and the bakery offerings are worth exploring. The market has so many hard to find oils, meats, specialty sodas...and fun to explore. Upstairs is 50/50 bar and restaurant, which specializes in sliders and unique salads for both the carnivores and herbivores alike. Their truffle fries are shoestring cut and delicious and there are quite a few creative twists to explore. I do wish they had more comfortable seating at the upstairs tables, but other than that I dig this place. Their portions are generous and frequently we need to take some home, especially when we enjoy the apps.
This is probably the third time we’ve eaten here and the service is always atrocious! The server came out immediately and got our drinks and then never returned. After 15 minutes we went to the bar to ask if someone could take our order. Had to go back 5 minutes later to bar to ask them again can someone take our order cuz he still didn’t take our order. Before the second time I asked the bartender if someone puked take our order, waiter came to table next to us got their drink order and then left. I thought he could consolidate and take our order but instead he ignored us. Once we got our food he never came back to check on us. I had to ask the manager for a soda refill. Only toward the end of our meal did the waiter ask us if we were okay. This service has been pretty consistent. Food was terrible and manager didn’t say thank you as we left
Urban Eats is such a special place in Houston! To start, I’ve only had delicious meals here and have eaten my way through much of the menu. The sliders are a favorite, the monkey bread is a must for sharing amongst friends, and the brunch has something for everyone. Downstairs is the perfect spot for a coffee and biscuit while working or meeting with clients. The market makes it easy to pickup a quick side or meal for dinner later! Levi and Eric have poured the hearts into Urban Eats and you can feel it each time you walk in!

The food and coffee made it a five star experience. The green goddess salad was excellent and the desserts are as tasty as they are beautiful. Downstairs is counter service with a cozy atmosphere among the groceries. Upstairs is table service with a full bar. There is outdoor seating on both levels. Service was not as good. We were seated way in the back corner even though there were many better tables available. Our waitress was not attentive. They say up front they charge 3% for credit card use. We paid cash and it took awhile for them to figure out how to remove the extra charge. Recommend, but next time I'm staying downstairs!

We love this place. This past week we got some of the prepared foods from the case as we had limited time. Normally, we eat upstairs in the dining room. The dining area is always consistently good and the sliders are my favorite. They’re so good. This trip though my daughter had a quiche and I had Brussels sprouts and chicken salad. Everything is prepared with quality ingredients and very flavorful. The lemon meringue pie was exceptional. I always pass straight through the market area and now I know that’s a mistake. Parking is a bit of a challenge as the back exit is closed at the moment.

Tried this place for brunch, I enjoyed my breakfast sausage sandwich, my MiL and her spouse enjoyed their food, my husband did not. Because he didn’t enjoy his chicken and waffles, I have to give it three stars. He shared it was bland and they also poured the syrup on the waffles before they were served so the waffles were soggy. The biscuits were okay, the omelets and the pie were good. I do like the style of the location and that they have 2 levels along with patio seating for both. They have a deli and mini storefront which is a nice addition. The complementary parking is a plus because trying to find street parking is a hassle. It’s a cool place to try because they do offer a variety for an inexpensive price. The adult beverages were on point.
Worst take out service ever!!! First they will not answer the phone, if you are lucky and they answer the phone they put you on hold for long time. When you go to pick up your order you will have to wait for a long time to pay, they only have one cash register. Then they will let you know that they have given your order to someone else. You will need to wait another 20 minutes. They need to Invest in another cash register and train their employees better when it comes to take out service. I have tried their take out service many time each time it has gotten worse. Never ordering again they have lost my and my friends business. Worst take out service ever!!!!

Stopped in for a late lunch and was not disappointed! Since it was an off time, we opted to get appetizers, but clearly our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. We ordered the Monkey bread, Society eggs & meat and cheese boards. Everything was fantastic! The Monkey bread was warm and delicious! The Society egg, which are deviled eggs, tasted fantastic (this was my fav out of all that we ordered), and the mean and cheese board was beautifully presented with crostini type bread (so tasty!!), 3 kinds of cheeses, meats, nuts and fruit, as well as some jam and honey. They offer grab and go items, including prepared food and stuff you can stop in and buy like a market. Looking forward to stopping in again and trying other options!
Avoid, better places to spend your money with actual service. Food was good, but there is clearly a staffing or management issue. We waited over 25mins before being served water and then told a server would be with us. After another 10mins we have the same person take our order. After getting our food we ask for utensils but after not receiving them in 3 mins I got them myself and remind the staff about a missing drink order. At this point we have not got a single refill of water and just want to get out. Terrible service, food is not good enough to put up with it. Give your money somewhere else that cares.

Really great option for lunch. If you want grab and go, counter service, or table service, they've got you covered. With a variety of menu options, most people should be able to find something they'd like. Sissy and I visited for our first time this week and honestly I was shocked by all the decisions to be made. Short on time, we opted for counter service but asked the cashier lady easily 20 questions. Dont worry, no one was waiting behind us. She answered nicely and was so kind explaining everything. And you can tell she really enjoyed the food too excited about it. I didnt absolutely love our selections (we split everything) but the food was good and I already want to go back and try all new stuff.
We brought my mom and Aunt here for mother's day brunch and the food was so delicious! There was a bit of a wait, but the customer service was excellent and they comped us an appetizer for the wait. Our waiter was great and the atmosphere is chill and laid back. I will definitely visit here again *pictured is pancakes with peanut butter praline syrup with scrambled eggs and bacon (if you like peanut brittle, then you will like the syrup) and chicken and pancakes

Nice variety of breakfast options and cool little grocery/deli. Came here on a Monday morning and had the Egg White Fritatta with Grits and a biscuit on the side. The Fritatta was huge and quite salty for my taste. It's also full of cheese. The grits looked like they were in a bowl of buttery/oily soup! Tried to eat from the bottom to avoid a mouthful of butter, not too appetizing. The biscuit was nothing special. My guests had pancakes, waffles, and the chicken biscuit. Both pancakes and waffles looked great but the biscuit sandwich fell right apart. I hear such good things about this place so I'll have to go back and try something else. Also the cortado was not strong and kinda watery.
an amazing spot tucked in Houston! it is so cute and is broken into 2 parts: bottom being market and top being restaurant! the food is truly so so fresh and the menu is vast with choices! the waitress was so sweet and we were able to choose where we sat. the fish was cooked amazingly and their lunch combos are tier 1! p a r k i n g: the parking here is very limited. please keep that in mind if planning on dining here, they have a small parking area outside and are able to park around the side! we went on a Wednesday which helped.

I only gave 4 stars for the food because I haven't tried a wide enough variety. We mainly came for the drink so. The drinks were amazing! I mean amazing. The nest I've had in a while. The 2 drinks were something like a cucumber Martini refresher and their version of a French 75. Simply amazing. The bartenders were super nice and attentive. We plan to return in order to partake in the bottom level desserts! The food I might add, did look delectable so I'll review later about it.

Sitting in the patio we saw everyone scraped the front of their car’s terribly coming into the parking lot.
Visited last week after an exhausting day of traveling. My friend and I walked in and ordered takeout. This was my first time back in about 3 years. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly. Unfortunately, half of our meal fell flat. They forgot to include our macaroons (partly our fault for not checking). My fries were stale, which is odd. Taste as if they sat out for a while and then were refried for my order. The lettuce on my sliders was bad. Had already turned and I had to pick it off. The wings on the appetizer menu were fantastic. Very flavorful.

Great location- Great Atmosphere- Mostly Good Food. I love taking out of town guests to Urban Eats due to its location and great atmosphere inside. I normally order and eat family style, so we get to try a bit of everything even though the portions are not large (for American standards- but normal european portions). The service is always exceptional, and the food is generally good. I like their Mac n' cheese, although its on the spicy side for some. I have had the hen in the past, and it was exceptional, but this last night, it was very very dry. The baked goods are exceptional.
Mama, what a good first stop on my Houston Restaurant Weeks tour. I knew from the warm greeting by Robert that this was going to be a great meal. At $39 this meal didn't disappoint at all. The fried green tomato stack was the sleeper hit and probably my favorite part. In fairness, I was soon too stuffed to finish my dinner or dessert. I would definitely return. Pro Tip: if you are trying to avoid a crowd Tuesday nights at 6:30pm give you the ability to social distance cause it isn't as busy.

New to Houston, I saw this place on a drive one morning so a few friends and I figured we’d check it out. There was a bit of a wait to sit inside at the upstairs portion of the restaurant. However, there were plenty of tables outside for us to sit. Service is walk up - at least for outside - they then bring you the food. They had quite a few options to choose from and surveying the table everything was pretty tasty. All in all I’d definitely come back for a low key brunch.

I just finished dinner here and let me say I AM PISSED!!! I ordered the salmon sliders. Needless to say prior to me complaining there was about 0.1 ounces of salmon on the sandwich. I then was giving more fish but had to wait for 15 minutes. Had to put the new fish on my old sandwich. 2 drinks and $24 later I yet to have any type of buzz. Yea let’s just say it’s a NO FOR ME AND YOU COULDN’T PAY ME TO EAT HERE AGAIN!!!!

I had an amazing goat cheese salad here. It was DELISCIOUS. The goat cheese was excellent and the salad was crisp and tasty. I love that they put automatically give you extra dressing. Our server was delightful and I couldn't have been happier with the service. We wanted to sit outside and enjoy the view of Houston, but unfortunately it was raining so we didn't get to. Urban Eats is a perfect place to enjoy a quiet evening coffee. Their coffee is amazing – bold yet smooth. I love their green goddess salad. If you are a dessert lover, this place is heaven. Everything is so delicious. They have a counter service downstairs. Upstairs, they have a table service with a full bar. You can also enjoy the outdoor seating available on both levels. Service could be better as the waiters were not very attentive. One more thing, they charge you for a credit card, So you better take some cash with you.
All I can say about Urban Eats is that chef here really knows what they are doing. They combine excellent ingredients elevated with care and thoughtfulness ti create some culinary experiences as good as anywhere else I’ve been. All in a light fun environment that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Highly recommended.

Urban eats has a beautiful spot & I loved the rooftop patio. My food was ok, I got the picnic sliders and was somewhat disappointed that the meat was a little dry and chewy. The flavor was great though, so I only share that to provide feedback - not criticism! My server was delightful and the rest of the staff was very kind and helpful as well. I will be back to check out the coffee, cocktails, & the decadent pastries! Thank you!

How anyone could give this soul filling place less than 5 stars is beyond me. Everything from the cozy, garden style patio to the carefully chosen retail items to the delicious fresh ingredients, this place has 10x TLC. The service was over the top friendly giving my granddaughter and I am extra piece of bacon on our shared plate. Lots of restaurants talk about “grandma’s gravy” but this place not only prepares her recipe but also that cup filling feeling.
The menu is small and selective. I’m not sure if me and my family went on a bad day but the food was mediocre and definitely wasn’t worth the prices. The chicken was dry and my kids didn’t eat the waffles and they love waffles. The the drinks tasted like water but the server was attentive and helped when he could.

I really like this cute little charming market. There's a cafe and shop downstairs with the same menu. Upstairs is full bar and restaurant. We sat outside on the balcony, which decorated with string lights and fresh herbs and vines. Such a lovely place. I want to go back in the evening to enjoy their main dishes and of course the night view.

A delightful find! Fried green tomatoes for appetizer was beautifully paired and had an amazing taste. Beets! Beef sliders were great and fries phenomenal. My salad and chicken soup were out of this world. Artwork was fetching. The outside view was breathtaking. Downstairs market had a huge selection.
Went for breakfast during the week. It was excellent. I had waffles with mixed fruit and my wife french toast with fruit. Both were delicious. Also the lattes we're great. The breakfast is served in their market which is nice. Plenty of tables and a nice lounge area. Would definitely go back.

Great restaurant atop a neat grocery-type of deli. They offer both breakfast and lunch options during the day and have an expansive menu. Everything we got was delicious but I especially recommend the monkey bread which was in no way dry and was very fluffy and tasty.
First time eating here, had a great experience. Wife and I are vegetarian and had the artichoke monkey bread (the best), fried green tomatoes BLT sliders and pomodoro primavera pasta, all were fantastic. Service was on point, will definitely come back.
First and last time coming here . Dry old burgers and the “Mac and cheese” didn’t taste like cheese more like pasta noodles with food coloring and bacon grease for flavor. Just gross and expensive.

Seriously the best brunch I’ve ever had! I was trying to save room for dessert but couldn’t stop eating the naan and fries! It was all delicious but the brunch loaded naan is what I daydream about when I’m running every day …
Service a bit rude at first. First time and wasn’t very delightful. Servers/counter servers must be more helpful with guests that haven’t visit the restaurant before. Very great farewell! Need to have the same energy as when you come in.

This restaurant is new for us! (It’s been here 9 years tho). We went for lunch. Service, food, ambience was excellent! We had the Fried Green Tomato sliders with shoestring fries and the Cowboy sliders with wedge fries. Soooo good!
Food is great here during lunch time. Recommend their daily special. Didn't get a chance to try out the breads or the desserts cause I was so stuffed with the entré. I tried the meatloaf with Mac and cheese and it was delicious!
I visited here the first time, and it was so good 5 out of 5 everything was perfect. So I visited here again but it wasn't as good as before. They used old espresso, with no crema on top. The food was salty. I'm so sad …
Great overall experience! Worth stopping by for lunch if you are in the area. The menu is a bit pricey, but the food quality and taste makes up for it. Service was just okay but everyone was very friendly.
Chill spot with some delicious food!! Nice outdoor seating that’s dog friendly. Close to the Buffalo Bayou park, so we like to stop by here after a nice walk!
