Love this place! Live in Twin Falls and wish we had a similar used book place there. Was looking at cookbooks and found so many that I was interested in and the prices are great! They had some real treasures I found in vintage magazines. Owners are nice :) We plan to go back with our son who is into collecting older stuff!

Really neat selection. Though the attitude of the woman working there towards my teenage daughter, 2 other adult female customers & people she was cussing at as we were leaving, is the reason why I wouldn't spend a dime there. Employee attitudes can make or break a store no matter what they are selling. Will not return.

We were waiting for a table at a nearby bar on a Saturday and I went in to browse since we had time. The lady in there is so nice and friendly! And the guy too! They answered my questions and I was able to find a few vinyl records. I wish I had time to browse longer. I can easily spend an hour or two in there.

This is a truly labyrinthine book store with things essentially everywhere. It’s pretty well organized, considering, and the selection is wild and varied. Don’t expect books in amazing shape, generally speaking, but do expect literal floor to ceiling shelves, weird finds and plenty of unexpected treasure.

Small and cute. Books are super cheap, and the atmosphere is pretty fun to be in. I could get lost in there for hours! The owners do swear a bunch, so look out for that. Smells like thick smoke— Gave me a bit of a headache. Still, very fun place to just browse!

Anyone finding fault with this amazing store is blind or most likely doesn't get it. This is the greatest store on the face of the earth! I love it so much! Owners are the greatest family! Beloved characters for sure but the store is magic! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I loved walking around the store. Lots of cool books, though most are in terrible condition. This store's only real problem was the strong smell of dust and cigarettes. I wanted to stay and look at stuff, but I wanted to get back out to the fresh air.

  • Allie Marini

This place is rad & the owner is a real character (and I mean that in the BEST possible way.) I enjoyed hearing some stories, digging in the stacks, & finding hidden treasures. I could have spent the whole day here so if you love "the hunt"

This place won't be to everyone's taste... but I love it. The elderly gentleman up front is so funny and amiable, if you stop to chat with him. The smell is intense, yes. It smells like cats, heavy dust and decay, and if you have allergies

  • AthenaScissorhands

This place is cool in a sense it is historic. The people there were dirty, the shop was dirty and smelled like a decaying house. Really tried to low ball me on some rare books I showed them, and the lady there was making fun of a obviously

I will never understand this store. It's open all days of the week and is so weird inside. They are a bookstore, with all sorts of books from all over, including old Salt Lake Tribune newspapers from the 60s. It seems as if the owners just

I was walking downtown and noticed this little place. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is only because it's kinda hard to find specific things. But that's also not necessarily why you would go to a place like that. If you have an hour

  • Carrie Ellison

Stopped by this shop on a whim today and asked the owner about a random book I've been looking for for years. He totally knew what book I was talking about and had it in his store! He knew right where it was. The whole experience was like

I work close to this shop so I decided to go in on a lunch break. The store was a disaster and there were unorganized piles and boxes all over the floor. I asked the older gentlemen and his daughter if they had any comic books to which he

  • Michael Irey

This place is super unique, family owned since 1916 here in the city! (Ask the older gentleman marshal he’s the store owner and if you have a second to chop it up with him he will tell you many interesting facts about the city) many kinds

The store has a nice aesthetic. But the selection is very outdated most of the time. Most books are in truly awful condition. The owners smoke in the store, so it smells horrible. It's also pretty dark in a lot of areas, making it hard to

  • James Mann

They do have a large selection and it is decently organized. I didn't try to sell or trade anything so I can't attest to that aspect of their pricing. For my part, I was able to get a couple books for a very good price so I enjoyed that.

I love this little shop! Pete, the owner, is full of stories and really fun to talk to. His knowledge of the stuff in his shop is beyond impressive. Helen, the lady that works there, is his sister. She is a little standoffish and awkward

  • Rajah Jay

The store was super cool to browse around in. It's kinda dirty and unorganized, but pretty alright altogether. Smells like cigarettes but it's not horrible. The guy in the front was really nice but the woman organizing books was probably

Went in and my curious son opened a swinging door and the big lady that works there got after him and said to go stand my me. Then complained about how kids should be put on a lease. The whole 5 min. We were in there she used the F word

I haven't been this excited about a shop in a while!!! Great little store with a great many variety of different items from books to movies and decorative plates lol cus I found one my would love I just know it haha. I can't express how

This shop was everything I didn't expect and exactly what I was looking for. If you are in search for a book store that smells and feels like it is violating multiple ADA compliance laws - this is the place. The shelves were packed with

Often called Pete's, this used book store is always an adventure. Not your typical bookstore, but one of my favorite places to spend an hour or two wandering. A great selection of books in all genres. Always a great selection of sci-fi,

  • Elli Steck

I called this store to find out if they might be interested in a 30-yr collection of magazines I have. The rude woman on the phone interrupted me within three seconds to demand "how old," and as I started to tell her which decades, she

  • Travis Johnson

Hey isn't this the headquarters for gang stalkers of Salt Lake City? This is were you take and report everything right? Or I mean that actually is in the basement but isn't this the cover for everything? Still a cool book store though.

  • Stephen Burr

I just left that store with my 90 year old grandmother that is wheelchair that pushed the door with her foot so that I could stop with my foot so we could go in. Then a woman yelled 3 times to not kick the door and also accused her of

  • Valencia Ortega

This lady harasses the downtown alliance as they walk past and she’s always yelling at somebody, and having degrading comments to say. She is very rude to the homeless as well, very poor behavior coming from a business owner!!!

  • sarah carden

Do you love a hoard vibe in your bookstore? This is the place for you. Books on books, but also a lovely assortment of random things piled up to the ceiling. Found a bunch of great used books here cheap. Will be back.

  • Puzzle-Queen

I loved how it was the vibe of the store was relaxing and calm. There are so many things that are, some random but really cool. A wide variety of books, most are older. Lovely place, will come back to get some books.

  • Adam G

Tons of books including some old stuff I haven't seen elsewhere. The only bad part is the shop owner must be smoking a pack or two a day so you have to deal with a pretty strong cigarette smell while in the shop.

  • John Mogannam

Small spot. Might have some good finds but honestly had to leave after 2 mins because the whole place smelled of tobacco and old cigarettes. If you can stand the smell might be a cool place.

  • Forrest Greening

I wanted to like this place, was excited to check it out- unfortunately couldn’t stay inside more then a couple minutes due to the overwhelming stench of tobacco smoke. Big thumbs down

  • Robert Baird

Enormous amount of books and trinkets packed into one place. Owners told me they are beneficiaries of the bars surrounding and the drunk buying that ensues.

  • Lindsey Dalrymple

Super unorganized and filthy. Was going to buy a book but turned off by the condition of the store. Not only unorganized, but also dirty and dusty.

  • Michael (TrIodine)

Never really write reviews. Just visited the store and thought I should make a not because of how egregiously rude one of the employees acted.

  • John Helm

Excellent store with big reputation. Owner operated. Has big selection of in store items. Family based...Main St. & 350 S.

  • Alexander Fellman

An astonishing place, with helpful and very friendly staff. On Main Street, not down an alley like Google Maps says.

  • Jeff Langley

Owners openly made racist comments towards customer. The store is also dirty and disorganized.

  • Chris Battaglino

Me: "Good morning! How are you today?" Him, not looking up: "Yeah guy."

  • Simon Smith

This bookstore is over a hundred years old, and worth stopping by.
