I never received a response to this letter. Ute Cab February 11, 2015 738 S 400W Salt Lake City, UT 84101 To whom it may concern: I am writing to inform you of my disappointment with the performance of your company. Despite making arrangements 2 days in advance, we were left stranded immediately prior to a recent airline flight. On Thursday February 5, 2015 at 6:40 pm, we reserved a van from your company to take us to the airport. We had a large bicycle box to transport and were reassured by the employee making the reservation that securing a van would be “no problem”. On the morning of our flight, Saturday February 9, 2015, we received a phone call from the Ute Cab dispatcher at about 5:15 am, one hour before our arranged pick up time. She did not have a van to transport us and felt that she was providing good customer service by giving us one-hour notice rather than “just not showing up”. When I asked about other solutions, I was told that I could “call the other cab companies”. Eventually she hung up on me. If this behavior was considered exceptional customer service, I would hate to see what you consider a poor experience. I called all the other companies without success. Eventually, I drove the box to the airport myself, returned home, and took a cab to the airport with my wife. We have been loyal customers of Ute Cab for about 20 years. We have used Rob Sharp on many occasions and find him very professional. However, recently the service from your company has become uneven, with drivers showing up considerably late on more than one occasion. I run what is essentially a small business. Organization and logistics is a large part of the job for many small businesses, especially a taxi company. The customer’s experience matters. If you think you are in the business of only selling transportation, you are mistaken. When I call you for a ride to the airport, I put my trust in your company to get me to the airport on time. You have betrayed my trust, and I will not trust your company again by giving you my business. Sincerely,

I own a medical office, we had an elderly lady in a wheelchair that was stranded by Ute Cab. I have security cameras in my office and when the elderly lady called them to find out why it was taking so long to pick her up, they said that her ride was canceled and they did not know why. I was with our patient while she was in our office and no phone call was ever made to cancel her ride, they bumped her ride and went on another customer. When I called to ask when they would have a ride back to our office they quoted 30-45 min then sent a car that could not pick up her wheel chair. The person who I talked to could have cared less, hung up on me twice and finally got another lady who seemed to care and a cab came 90min later. I am going to deliver what she came to my office for to her home so that she never has to deal with Ute Cab Company again, I plan on giving her the phone number to call Aging & Adult services and Senior Transport services. I have never been a fan of Cab services since UBER and Lyft have surpassed the Cab industry in service. I hope other elderly people see this and use other services. Shame on Ute Cab and who ever I talk to who works for them, our Patient who was in her 80's deserved more respect and kindness. I found out that they are not Gephardt approved as their Google listing shows, Gephardt does not affiliate with them.

Took forever to answer the phone and once they did I was actually hung up on. Then when the cab finally arrived an hour and a half later, I had to pay ten dollars to the guy for him to wait for me and my newborn baby at Walmart. On the other hand, there was a really nice older Caucasian man that gave me a ride to my clinic. He was really nice to me and I asked him if he could wait for me and my baby for maybe five minutes he said of course in a very friendly way!! Then when I got back into the cab I was never asked to pay ten dollars for the wait. This cab company is very based on the day and who is driving. So it depends sometimes there are really nice drivers like over guy actually didn't even charge them five dollars owed for the trigger from my apartment to Walmart! I've had more good experience than bad. I'm giving two stars for the phone calls because they take forever to answer someone's never even answering, then being hung up on, and the man in the phone was rude as well as the driver that showed up and charged me ten dollars to wait at Walmart for maybe fifteen minutes.

The company that my husband works for made arrangements with this cab company to pick up their employees from the airport and take them to the Hilton in downtown SLC. When my husband arrived, he went to the designated cab and was told by the driver that he wasn't going to take him anywhere and that he should go over to that yellow cab (pointing to the different cab co.) and have them drive him. My husband explained to him that the company he worked for made prior arrangements with Ute cab to have all their employees transported to their Hotel. The driver still refused service to my husband. After reading on their web page about being reliable and comfortable, serving their residents and visitors for decades, I felt I had to write this and tell about how comfortable and reliable my husband felt with the UTE service, NOT111. Perhaps this was an isolated incident, perhaps i should give the driver the benefit of the doubt, or maybe for a reliable and comfortable cab ride in SLC you should just use the OTHER cab company, the ones with the YELLOW CABS!!!

You get what you pay for and Ute cab has always taken great care of me! Everyone I have encountered working there is very kind and very nice. As far as the complaints. They are kind of just common sense complaints. Think before you complain?? Are they cheaper than Uber or Lyft? Obviously not. When you use Uber or Lyft do they have to go through an intensive background check before hand? No, that’s why they don’t have those fancy airport badges. Are you covered if something happens in their car? Absolutely not. You will find this out when you call and ask them their prices or for a quote which they happily give you. I know because I have done it multiple times. If you have an appointment or need to get somewhere by a certain time. Salt lake is spread out, if you need a cab and you live outside of downtown salt lake which is where they are based out of you should probably call way ahead of time since it takes 25/30 minutes to drive to most places when it isn’t rush hour.

Talk about unsafe drivers and questionable charge for the ride. I HONSTLY though we where gonna crash. I am paying you to take me home safly and I felt more unsafe driving in this swerving cab then if I would have opted to drive with a drunk driver. At least a drunk driver would have been trying to get home safe. His head was always on his computer and almost never on the rode and he never had 2 hands on the wheel. We almost side swiped another car. THIS IS NOT A SAFE COMPANY TO USE IF YOU ARE TRYING TO GET HOME ALIVE. Also it says on the cab 20 cents per 1/11 of a mile but even at dead stop the toll was going up. My house is almost exactly 11 miles away. From the car dealership and I had never paid more the 26 with out tips. WHY WAS THIS RIDE $40. Do the math it does not add up! Talk about false advertising. THIS WAS THE MOST TERIFYING AND WOST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AND I WILL NEVER USE THEN AGAIN!!!!!!

Don't ever ride with these guys. Starting from the lady on the phone and the driver. They were rude and disrespectful to me. I was waiting with my 1 year and a half old daughter outside primary children's hospital today. The driver got lost even though I gave them the exact address. He called me and was furious because he didn't see me. I told him many times he was in he wrong place but was so rude that he didn't even bothered in listening to me and Hung up!! I have never used Uber before but since the situation could not get any worse, I decided to download the app (2 mins), signed up and in 5 minutes a super nice lady from Uber picked me up and drove us back home. She helped me with the stroller and provided the best service ever. The fare was very cheap. From now on I will only ride Uber. As a mom I tell you guys, don't EVER ride Ute Cabs. Ride Uber and be safe!

I will say I watch meter from time I get in car to time did I get out of the car. I had a trip one day where I got in the car the meter set $3 as I got in the car I went to my place call the taxi came back when I got in the car the meter said to 40 I asked why was it such a big difference and I was told that it shouldn't have been that way should be in the same as when I got in the car the second time that day to come back home the first taxi driver I feel ripped me off I reported it I was told I'd get a call back to explain but nobody called me back so I don't know now if I want to use them again I'm going to have to search myself and maybe try some other cabs to see what the prices are but I did use because I was told that they have drivers that Mike to rip you off. Some are really cool drivers.

So I call, ask for a cab, give the address, the hole works.... dude tells me "I'll be there in 15 or less." Well after 45 minutes I call back and ask if he had forgotten about me, he says "it takes time to do what I do you've got to be patient! " okay so here I am an hour and 20 minutes in to my patients, I go back into the store purchase a prepaid debit card, get on Google maps, typed in my drop off location, hit the lyft link, filled out a simple sign up forum, added the prepaid debit card info. Now I'm an hour and a half In to waiting for Ute Cab Company and a lyft is set to arrive in 6 minutes. They both pulled up at the same time ute at 1 hour and 35 minutes and lyft at 6 minutes... guess which one I got in?!?! Call yellow cab, lyft, Uber, ANYTHING BUT UTE CAB...

RUDE FRUSTRATING UNPROFESSIONAL I stayed at the MicroTel Inn and they recommended this cab company. Supposedly, they have an "agreement" that the charge is only $18 from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. I called for a ride Monday, July 5th around 3:45 am.The man who answered didn't know "which" Microtel (supposedly there's only one) so I gave him the address and said, "it's the one you have a contract with for $18"  He kind of growled at me, said he didn't know if he could get a driver to do it for that price, but he'd try to find someone.  When I finally called back around 20 minutes later, he said the driver refused it and the other driver was busy. No call back to let me know. I called Uber, was picked up in 10 minutes and paid $10. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

We reserved yesterday for a cab this morning at 6:30 to go to the airport. When they were not there we called and dispatcher said cab was just leaving the airport and it would be 30 minutes. We reminded him that we had a reservation and he replied “ people don’t understand that we are short staffed.” I asked if there was another cab closer and he repeated the above and hung up on me. The time to tell me that they were short staffed would have been when we were reserving our cab or at a minimum a call in advance to tell us they could not come. We missed our flight. We will never use Ute Cab again. Horrible experience and no accountability for following through on committed reservation.

I don't know when what world it's okay to hang up on somebody when they are the ones that got it wrong to begin with. I ordered a cab at 12:20 p.m. they said the cab would be here in 45 minutes it is now 1:30 p.m. and I called to find out where they were at and he said he didn't see me in the system so he had me put on hold for about 5 minutes and when he came back on he said I'll send someone else and hung up. I have I tried calling back and now the phone is disconnected I have a feeling nobody's going to show up. If they do show up I'm not taking the ride because there's no point in me going I'm already late. So that his problem for hanging up on me.

1 star because NO STARS isnt an option.... DO NOT USE UTE CAB if you are in a hurry. Horrible customer service tonight. After 45 minutes of waiting for them to come pick up a guest at my hotel and 15 minutes after calling a second time for an ETA, we call again and tell them how loyal our hotel is to them and that this was not ok to be waiting that long and that we may need to reevaluate using their company. How much longer do we have to wait? Their response? "Reevaluate then. f*** off, bye." NEVER AGAIN Ute Cab! Absolutely RIDICULOUS. Now my co-worker just took our guest to her location, free of charge of course. (call rep name was Scott)

My dad is a us Marine Corp veteran who has to use Ute cab to get to dialysis. He can no longer drive and my mom is working two job. Sometimes they call and wake everyone up at 3:30 am to let us know if he has a ride or not but then are mean to my dad when he calls them at 4:30 am to see if someone is going to pick him because if not then he has to find someone to take him to work. This is something that the VA pays for and he is often treated poorly. His life literally depends on these rides. Sometimes they show up, sometimes they don’t. Sadly it is not like anyone has a choice because where we live is so far out. Don’t recommend.

I jumped in a cab at the airport needing a ride to 25th S. and Bangerter Highway. The driver could barely speak English and after we had started driving he told me it would be $30. I told him to let me out immediately. I called a Ute Cab. I did have to wait 15 minutes because Ute doesn't work the airport anymore. The Ute fare was $15. The driver spoke English, was friendly, and knew where I was going! I have put the Ute Cab number in my phone and in the future I will call when I get off the plane and eliminate the wait. I won't get in another airport cab. They may be the last honest cab company on earth.

Twice I made reservations only to have no-show cab service. The first time we were told the cab was on it's way in ten minutes. We called every ten minutes to hear it will be be there soon. Finally after 40 minutes they admitted they didn't have a cab available. We almost missed our flight. The second time I made reservations 24 hours in advance and called the next day ten minutes before the cab was to arrive to verify its arrival. This time I was told there was no reservation despite an emailed confirmation. They have absolutely terrible customer service as in ZERO customer service. Use another company!

Called over and over for more than an hour. Finally answered my call and told me it would be 30 minutes. That's fine, I was on the 3rd floor, the driver called me to say he was outside 26 MINUTES LATER!!!! ON TIME, customer service was friendly, driver was awesome. The ride was actually pretty cheap. The ride took longer than it usually would but it was snowing. Act of nature not the drivers 's faul The only thing I would change is either hiring another customer service agent or I vest In a hold system to prevent the over and over call back. I would and will recommend UTE TAXI to anyone and everyone.

My wife was alone in PC and needed a ride to SLC Airport for an 8:45 flight the next morning. This meant she needed to be picked up at 7am. I called at least a dozen transport companies in the Park City area as well as in Salt Lake City. No one was willing to pick her up at such an early hour on a Sunday morning. I was told it was too early or they had no drivers available with such short notice. Ute Taxi Company went the extra mile. They agreed to pick her up and their fee was very fair. The driver showed up on time and was professional and courteous. I would highly recommend Ute Taxi Company.

I Drive by the driver in my car which has a Lyft and Uber sticker in it, the drive told my to (f) myself. I mean like just because you are old and upset in your current situation in life don't take it out on me. I can only imagine how much anger you hold for holding onto a dieing company and not able to do anything about it. Oh wait Uber and Lyft are always hiring. well, thanks for your type of service. With service like that Uber and Lyft rides should pick up a little when your company goes out of business. Until then keep doing you,, I am sure the one star ratings will continue to pour in.

The ride for my brother, who is in a wheelchair, didn't get scheduled with the usual company. He needed to go to a doctor appointment for a surgical procedure we had scheduled a month earlier. After calling multiple companies and being told they couldn't help us on such short notice, I called Ute Cab. Woo-hoo! Success! They're located in Salt Lake City but came to Provo. Ray, the driver was wonderful! He was very helpful and understanding. My brother got the procedure done and Ray waited to drive him home. I can't thank Ray and Ute Cab enough! You saved the day! Thank you!

I couldn't find a ride to work this morning and I tried calling every taxi service available and they were the only people that answered. The dispatcher went out of his way to find me a ride so I wouldn't be late to work, and the driver Moon was so polite and friendly. However the fare is absolutely ridiculous. I paid almost $35 for a ride when I could've paid just $15 if I had used Lyft, unfortunately I only had cash. The side of the cab had the fare listed as 20¢ per mile and I was also told that by the driver so why is a 13 mile ride almost $40?

Ute cab has some exceptional staff. I don't use Taxi/Cab services much until the last few years, but anytime I have called Ute I have been left with lasting impressions, prompt service, decent prices, and I highly praise them to anyone looking or asking for transportation services. (Keep in mind, I'm not that kind of consumer, I compliment great service at that time if anything) Its hard to find a sense of genuine courtesy and "above and beyond" from companies these days. I've been a taxi rider for years- although, I will say, I use rideshare apps more now because of the convenience. But, I still call Ute Cab- especially when the apps are charging ridiculous '' surge'' prices. They aren't as quick but I'll wait if it saves me 60 dollars on a trip that usually shouldn't cost more than 15 dollars. Drivers are friendly- REAL cab drivers who know the city. Cars are smoke free and clean. Definitely recommended. Taxis need to stay in business. The last thing anyone wants is Uber having a monopoly.

I am concerned with the ledger used to total amount owing . For example in the lease it clearly states that a late fee will be added for past due rent . The ledger totals mdintencr fees and rent together , (allegedly showing it as past due rent,). Therefore allowing a late fee to be added to maintemce fees , rather the tenant or Grace Mary Manor is responsible . The lease states NO WHERE that a late fee will be added to maintenance charges . This is tandems to to price grudging, and is an illegal practice .

2/22/18. Passing threw slc and my semi broke down. In needed a ride from the repair shop to a rental place about 6 miles away. I called UTE TAXI. And they said a car would be there in about 20 mins. 10 mins later a driver calls saying he is about 7-8 mins away. He was on time. Car was clean and driver was super friendly and professional. This is the first time using any taxi service in Utah. And I am very pleased with the whole experience. I believe the driver name was bob?

I called a cab for a friend of mine and Brenda was the agent that talked to she was super friendly and helpful. After a half an hour, I called to check on the status of the cab for my friend and she very nicely informed me that the cab was around the corner. Times are tough right now and we need lots more friendly, sweet people like Brenda to remind us that humanity is still good. Thank you Brenda for being a positive, bright light during a time of crisis in our community.

I would put 0 stars. I was discharged from the ER and waited 6 hours and all they could tell me was that they were waiting for someone to be in the Murray area to pick me up. 6 hours and no driver was ever in that area This wasn't the only time I had to wait for hours on end for a ute cab. Ridiculous. And the dispatcher was rude about it when I asked why no driver was available within the 6 hours I was waiting. I ended up walking home from the emergency room at 2 AM.

Called for a cab from only 3 blocks away, requesting a ride for 4 passengers. They said it would be just a few minutes. 25 minutes later they show up with a sedan that uncomfortably seats 3 in the back. No chance what so ever at 4. You have one job....... Give a ride to passengers.... Can't get the arrival time right. Can't get the amount of passengers right...... 1000% will never use a taxi again. Thanks for proving ride share to be that much better.

Had a cab scheduled for 6 AM pick up. Called the night before to book and confirm. No car arrived at 6 AM so called the cab company and was told they didn’t have any cars in the area even though I had booked the evening before. I wasn’t notified of any issues or cancellation. I ended up getting hung up on by the rude dispatcher and missed my flight as no other transportation was available. Don’t waste your time with this company. Very rude.

I would rate lower if I could. Dispatch person was rude. They made sure to mention that they dont like picking people up from the frontrunner station. I had planned on tipping well for the driver having to pull in that lot. If she had been less rude I would have just asked to be met a few blocks down. I was told to call back when I was ten minutes away. I'd reccomend Lyft. I've never had a problem with them.

I have used this cab company for many years. Not only for myself but for my hotel guests. I DO NOT encourage you to use this cab on Tuesday nights or Friday nights when the woman dispatcher is working. She does not have respect for the company she works for or the cab drivers and she discriminates on fares. I know this first hand because the cab drivers have told me and from my own experience.

I had the worst experience with a cab driver that charged me twice the fare. I used to use them all the time. I think the guy either messed with the meter or he charged double fare. I usually pay the same price everyday for a ride home from work. I can say that I wish I had a video camera on because this guy was out of this world. What a guy! Better to call "Yellow Cab" or any other company

SLC. DID NOT SHOW UP FOR SCHEDULED TIME!!!! Put us in a very stressful situation of scrambling to find another cab at the very last minute to make our flight on time. Never saw them in the 20 minutes that it took for CITY CAB to come get us. NOT RELIABLE this time and no one answered the phone when person did not arrive, no way for me to check if pick up was in route or at wrong address.

I call Ute Cab for every early morning airport run. The drivers are always 5-10 minutes early, even on a snowy morning, and never seem to mind that I'm not ready (early) when they get there. I've had the same driver a number of times over 3 years, so he's obviously loyal to the company. The cost is reasonable for the trip-I live near Liberty Park, and it's about $25.

The company I work for uses Ute Cab a lot. I cannot speak for the drivers quality but the dispatchers are rude and just tell you what they think you want to hear. They never give a good estimate on time and are extremely rude on the phone. We had a client who waited for over an hour after being told 15 minutes. This company needs some education on customer service.

Do not use this company! Be warned! They will keep your money even if you don’t use their service. I cancelled a reservation and I still got charge $83 fee, they claim it was a hold but I never used the service. I called their management office twice and they always say they will call me back and they never do. I would really appreciate a refund, it’s been 2 weeks.

Chronically late whenever we've scheduled them. We schedule them an hour before we actually want to leave and even then they have been so late as to force us to pursue alternative transportation. They've even failed to show up at all once. After that I'm leery of trying them ever again. Late once, ok, but late every time for several weeks? Nope, done.

Was the only cab I would call . Never had any issues with them. Tonite I call lady says she is sending a cab. Calls back and tells me she can't send me a cab , management said I have given them problems in the past. I'm shocked I have only called Utah cab 6 times .never gave any issues ,was always kind and respectful. Idk seriously

The driver charged me an $11 fee for using the cab for moving. I might add I was leaving an inpatient rehabilitation facility, & as my suitcase was lost, I had a black garbage bag full of my belongings. He did not even get out to open the trunk. The fare was under $10, but with the fee, it was over $20. He did not get a tip. I'll Uber from now on.

THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST SERVICE I'VE HAD IN SLC!! the cab driver was doing 90mph on the highway and reeked of beer and cigs. He took us to the wrong location and demanded we pay him. I couldn't believe how horrible this company operates. he called his dispatcher and was told to leave me in the middle of no where with my children. BEWARE !!!!

I had made my reservation the day before . I needed to be picked up at 5:00am because I had to be at the hospital at 5:30 since I was having surgery. By 5:10 they hadn't shown up so I had to drive myself . The guy called me at 5:18 and said I'm here...I said I'm not that I had to drive myself. Now I have to have 2 people go pick up my car.

Have used Ute multiple times to get to/from SLC airport and have been happy every time. I call the night before & schedule a pickup. The driver has arrived a early every time and been courteous and helpful loading and unloading my bags. I saw the unfavorable reviews and this has not been my experience. I'll keep using Ute in the future.

I scheduled a pick up time over an hour and a half before they were supposed to show up. I called 10 min and 20 min after they were supposed to show up. They told me over the phone they “were really busy and trying to get someone over there”. I almost missed my flight, PLEASE do not use them if you need to count on them showing up!

Ray was a delight of a driver, we laughed the whole way! I was nervous about getting a cab since I haven't taken one in years but I will definitely choose Ute Cab again and recommend it to others. The cab got to me quickly, was clean and driven by the nicest guy. If I need a ride again in the future I'm asking for Ray!

Very nice and polite was right on time car was clean. Didn't over charge like yellow cab did (tried charging 45 for a 15$ can ride n acted like I was a bad person for giving him a forced 20 dollar tip, had to give him money before he would go). Driver was thankful and kind with his tip as well. Nothing to complain of!

I took a taxi two ways to get my vaccine. I had two different drivers, and neither wore a mask. The first driver told me terrifying stories about being kidnapped and then finished it up with a bigoted speech, the second driver treated me to an anti vax lecture the whole way home. I will NEVER use this company again!!

Horrible service!! Waited over 30 minutes for a cab that never came! Called back and the guy told me "the driver couldn't find the location so he turned around" never got a call or anything. So now I'm stuck waiting another 15-20 minutes with my 1yr old in the cold! Save yourself the time and hassle, order an Uber!

Dispatcher wouldn't send cab due to me explaining I will pay with my debit card when I I get to my destination but can give the driver what cash I do have up front which is not how a cab works but after I explained my situation he insisted I have to pay upfront. Just another douche bag kicking a guy when he's down.

Answering our call took about 5 minutes after 3 tries. The taxi never made it at my home and didn't call back either. Dispatch sounded new on the job and was hard to understand. They don't take big bills so make sure you have small bills and no credit/debit cards. Karachi, Pakistan has better taxi service.

The driver was incredibly rude from the moment I got in the van as was the dispatcher when I tried to file a complaint. The driver pulled a u-turn in the middle of the street slamming me against the door with no apology or explanation. Worst experience ever. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN

I had horrible time booking my cab to the airport. The person on the phone gave me a lot of attitude when I was asking about how to transport an infant from our home to the airport in a cab. Eventually she hung up on me. After such a frustrating experience, I will not be calling them again.

I reserved a Ute cab for my son for a snowy, early morning commute this morning. The dispatcher had a driver waiting more than 15 minutes early to be sure my son could get to work. This is beyond courteous and professional! Definitely use them for reliable and professional transportation.

Do not rent a cab from these people, I waited 3 hrs, in front of the Midvale Smiths, I kept calling them , and calling them ,every time the stoner kid who was the dispatcher, kept talking me the cab would be there in 25 to 30 mins, and this went on for 3 hrs. There is No excuse for this!

In ER waited an hour, Saturday night. Apparently none of the cab drivers wanted to leave their bread and butter at the airport. Should be in order of calls! Called Uber, picked up in 7 minutes. Excellent driver, clean car. If I wasn't feeling so bad I would have thought of Uber first.

Called for a cab at 11pm, they said it'll take 20-30min. I called back 40min later, they said it'll take another 30min. I waited and then had to call them back for them to tell me to call another agency. Could have saved me 2hrs by just telling me they didn't want my business.

Waited 30 minutes to be picked up and the charging / fare system was insane. He said it charges by the mile but my fare far surpassed the rate per mile and miles of my trip. It shouldn't have been above $14 by that rate and was $21. Don't waste your time and money.

The bald driver was unprofessional, and made fun of my fiancé’s weight, he didn’t want to pick us up in the first place and charged us an extra $22 for a spot on the seat that did not come from us. Over all a terrible experience and will never use them again.

Claims to have wheelchair accessible cabs, but they are NEVER available when we call. They just tell us there is only one cab and the driver is off. It doesn't seem to matter what time we call or what day of the week it is. The only driver is always off.

Biggest issue with an airport pickup is timing. The driver showed up perfectly on time. Got to the airport in good time. Driver was very friendly but not too chatty. Would highly recommend!! Only a few dollars more than Uber.
