This place is RACIST‼️ They were so rude and talk down to every patron that is black; which is their clientele. I asked for my big toe to be full rhinestone and my nail tech refused and said it was too much work. So he said he was getting the manager. The manager also refused telling me she didn’t do toes. I was extremely confused and embarrassed. My best friend was upset because her tech was tossing her hand around and being rough. I got quoted two different prices for the rhinestone nail. The tech said $10 a toe and the manager told me $15. If that wasn’t enough she stopped after she put my nails on to take a LUNCH BREAK! Complete disregard for my time and was of the upmost disrespect. She probably wanted me to leave. I really wanted my nails done and my friend was also being serviced, but never will I ever let another human treat me this way. Once I finally got out I realized she did not give me a full rhinestone nail on my toe. She used a glitter polish as a base and scattered the rhinestones around. It was the worst experience of my life. Before I left I witnessed other staff talking very disrespectful to the clients and the customers whispering their grievances amongst one another. I hope all of these ladies find the self respect to stop supporting this business with zero ethical standards.

First of all- let’s talk about the fact that when you get a fill in- they do NOT clean up your cuticles. They will literally work around your overgrown cuticle bed. Then- they set your arm on a lil dirty jar while they do your nails (no arm rest). And lastly (which was the biggest turn off) is they have a bunch of stupid signs posted throughout the shop regarding what you can/can’t do when paying for services. (Ex: you can’t split payments. If you’re getting more than one service, you have to pay separate for each one) They even go as far as having these signs posted in the restroom. Hey- if you don’t like or trust your customer base- then get out of the neighborhood! When you walk in, they have a black, Burly lady security guard at the front desk. I guess she’s the “muscle” of the establishment. You tell her the service you’re getting, then she screams it out so the Chinese people know. By the way- my nails were horrible and only lasted a week. Run- don’t walk!!! Not worth the trouble. The entire vibe is weird!!

Last time dealing with Vicky. She is unprofessional and does not appreciate her customers. I got my nails done yesterday 8/18 and my nailed chipped the next day. (NO Chip polish mind u) To be proactive I called to let them know and explained I'm not in Chicago at the moment and can't come in ro get it fixed today, but tomorrow. The manager who is male . Tried to force me to come in today or pay $10.00 tomorrow. I asked to speak with Vicky in case she could understand the situation, which she did, but explained they don't know who did my nails. Mind you they take everything BUT blood for credit card payments, but you can't find the receipt for who did my nails? Come in and speak with security and work it out tomorrow she said. This lady needs to take her business out of this neighborhood as it doesn't add anything but tension. She doesn't respect her black customers and we should spend our money elsewhere. It's time out for one-sided service!

I went here like last week for an event i had, my nails already look old and look like they’re about to slide off, they didn’t cut my cuticles and barely did any nail prep. they didn’t cut my real nail or anything, just applied acrylic powder and that’s it. then they painted my toes, and 2 days later the polish came off my big toe so easily as if it was a sticker or something. i shouldve read the reviews beforehand. also, they charged me about $75 for nail acrylic & feet polish, the lady doing my nails seemed annoyed and bored which i don’t care, it’s her job and she’s being paid for it but when i said my nail was crooked, she acted as if she didn’t hear me before. and the front desk lady was helpful but not so professional. update : 3 days later after my og cmmnt. (11 days total since i got my nails done) and it’s acrylic powder but 2 popped right off. gotta get them redone for my bday now

I went here while vacationing in Chicago. First thing I noticed is there we close to no sanitizing of any kind. I had to request the foot technician to fully clean my chair after I noticed a fingernail was left on the table of the station I was asked to sit. When asked if they offered SNS services no one knew what I was speaking of. They kept calling it dipping powder, however there was no dip. It was similar to getting gel/acrylics however you use what they called dipping powder. There’s a charge for EVERYTHING. If you want your nail cut..it’s a charge. Nails shape..extra charge. Soak off for nail services...charge. Finally I got my nails done Saturday and today..Monday...and the top coat is peeling already. I’m just happy to be back home in Georgia where the SNS fill in is $35 and includes your soak off, nail cut and shape. $25 for a pedicure and it includes the salt scrub.

Vivian did my mink individual eyelash extensions. She said she did her own so I told her she could do mine. I specifically wanted them SHORT and NATURAL. Exactly how hers looked. I left out of there with those long thick eyelashes. They are glued really good but I found out it’s hair glue so idk / can’t take them out properly without the fear of damaging my eyes. If the long butterfly lashes is your thing try them out. But for a natural look where you don’t look like you contour your face everyday this is not the place. Aight so boom I went back about a month later lol. This time I tried to be as specific as possible with what I wanted for my eyelashes and Vivian came thru. I like them. Eyebrows are still a little hard looking at first but they lighten up. But overall she did very well and she was very polite and I definitely would go back. (Changed from a 3 to a 4 star..)

I came up for a wedding and visited my family. As a girls day we decided to go get our nails and feet done. The service provided wasn’t service it was in fact very rude, unprofessional and not consistent with what was asked for. I asked more than several times to make my nails nude. I was told okay that’s an extra $5 dollars, I said okay great. As my nails where getting done I repeatedly asked about my matte coating and I was told okay. My nails where finally done, still no matte coating. When I asked the finally time I was told it couldn’t be done on my feet but it could be on my hands. Had I known I couldn’t get what was requested I would have never gotten anything. The owner was rude, so I’m sure the workers feel as if they can be too and they were just that. I wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone !!!

The facility was really busy but, there was order in the place! I waited about 45 minutes for Vicky to do my Eyebrow wax and tinting... the wait was because everyone wanted her. I loved all the brows she did...and I'm sure mine will grow on me. I docked off 2 stars because the wax literally ripped a layer of my skin off in 3 different areas. The alcohol wipe was brutal. Beauty is pain...but dang! Idk if there needs to be more wax, or if she needs to not rip as though she's angry with the world. She was polite, however. Didn't notice the pain was from the skin missing until I got into the car otherwise, I would have pointed it out. Place is also cash only...but there is an atm. Overall, the look will do! Update. Taking another off due to scarring. Hoping they'll clear up with vitamin e oil and aloe Vera.

She was very rude and unprofessional while she serviced me going back and forth between doing my nails and doing eyebrows while talking rudely to me. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND VL NAILS TO ANYONE.

My toes are horrible I will not be going back here and I don’t recommend other young ladies to go here either. I was mistreated and disrespected by staff and my toes weren’t done professional. I only wanted white polished toes and their horrible. This just happen today on Aug 20th 2022 at round 1:00pm. I don’t even usually do reviews but I don’t appreciate how my toes look at all! I use to love going to this place when they were located on 83rd. Now and the since the pandemic their prices are ridiculous high and the services is horrible. When you go to the nail shop it is suppose to be a relaxing experience and this place it’s not. Customers are yelling and fighting every time I go. I simply starting only going to this place for eyebrows because Vicky does nice eyebrows. However, the last time I went to get my eyebrows done a customer began arguing with the security (like is there security in a nail shop ) and Vicky ruined my eyebrows. I will not be returning to this place. Nevertheless, I really hope they can get back to how it use to be.

The owner Vicki has a very horrible attitude and does not speak to her PAYING customers respectfully. It’s very unprofessional and I will NEVER go there again. She projects negativity that others bring to her towards the customers who have nothing to do with these situations and when she’s checked, she gets defensive. It’s unfortunate that many people end up cursing her out and calling her out of her name to check her, then she humbly stops. She’s infiltrated our neighborhood and garners all of the African American business and money, yet she has no respect for the people that keep her in business. As I stated initially, NEVER AGAIN!

This place is trash! It seems like they only know how to do fake nails. If you have natural nails you will be disappointed. The nail techs are rude and don’t care about providing good customer service. The workmanship is the worst. The first time I had my nails done here, my gel manicure started peeling off after a week. The second time, the nail tech made my nails bleed and kept making it worse. The dip manicure (pictured) started coming off the same day. I was unable to go back to the shop because I had a flight to catch. I was out of town for over a week with horrific nails. Save your money and your time, go somewhere else.

Do yourself a favor and find a black owned nail salon. These people play right in your face. 75 I spent on nails and eyebrow waxing. Shorty put Makeup on my brows when I only paid for them to be waxed not shaded in because I actually plan on washing my face when I go home. She knew she didn’t know what she was doing so she put makeup on them to suffice her uneven waxing job. My nails are nothing like what I showed the man who was doing them. Even a lady next to me was displeased with her nails and was ready to go smh. I should’ve listened to her when she was TRYING to warn me. Please avoid this establishment. Do not go here.

I went today to get a full set and pedi. I wish I could give 5 stars because the pedi was wonderful. Now when it comes to the full set she cut me due to her rushing. Also had a attitude after she cut me because I couldn’t relax my hand. I wasn’t offered a discount and due to her attitude she got no tip. I gave her tip to a random guy on the streets who very much appreciated it. Update after week 1 I had a nail break and all of them were lifting in the back. The pedi was no chip but 2 of my toes are missing the whole polish. Why charge so much if you’re going to use cheap materials??

Literally just left the salon 20 mins ago and I’ve already had to super glue my nail back together after getting a FRESH FULL SET! How does that even happen ? This was the quickest I’ve gotten my nails done before . I should have known something was wrong. The only reason I came here is because my nail tech was busy. Then I got my lashes done and the lady messed them up and had to redo them, and they still aren’t up to par. Everything should be perfect considering the prices they have are expensive. After I go get my nail fixed tomorrow , I won’t return.

Came to this place as a recommendation for eyebrows since our usual esthetician was unavailable. I didn't really care for the service. Everyone was waiting for one last(the one we were recommended) and she didn't do the best for me. I like that she had her things precut and ready but she used the same brushes on everyone! The brush to brush color on the brows and to highlight after waxing. This place looks to be expanding so it would be nice to see it fully finished. But overall, I would go for that service again.

I am very disappointed with the service I received. After being with my nail salon for over 15 years,they went out of business. I decided to try V Nails and I was very disappointed, I have been there three times hoping for better service, and this last time was the worst. I paid for no chip and my nails started chipping in a week, my lashes fell off in a few days. The only service I was pleased with is the pedicure. I am in the process of finding a new place. I went Aug 6th, The place was doing repairs when I went. I got my eyebrows feet and nails done. My eyebrows were great, but the lady that did them was really rough. It felt as if my skin was going to come off with the wax . My nails are cute. The young lady that did my feet was really scrubbing with the pumice rock, she reopened a stitch that was over 30yrs old. (My feet are not bad) Then she kept saying when I come back ask for Angel. I THINK NOT... I'LL COME BACK BUT, ANYBODY BUT ANGEL

I've had mixed experiences with their customer service/services. There have been times when the nail the nail was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service. These experiences were a delight, and I left satisfied. However, there have also been instances where the customer service and nail service fell short. When nail techs seemed disinterested and lacked basic courtesy, and rushed on my service. I still go here just wish customer service and overall quality would be consistent.

Today is my last time coming to this salon. Clean salon, friendly staff, but the nail work & pedicures are not great. Vicky do an amazing job with eyebrows, I have to give them that. I’ve been coming here since they opened. I always get no chip polish but it always chips within days. The last two times I’ve come here I’ve selected nail polish & the technician Denise said they ran out of the color. She also manages to not polish the side of my nails, & nail beds. So disappointing.

I usually have a good experience but today wasn’t the best . I just left , the young lady doing my nails cut me deep with the Emory board, after being cut the side of my finger instantly bled , she poured a green solution on it (didn’t even toss the emory board), I asked her if I could go wash my hands. She ignored me , after finishing my nails she said $105 total for feet and nails , I felt she should’ve subtracted some from total since she cut into my finger so deep

I've been going here for years. Really loved it at one time. Now they have new techs. I got a pedicure and the tech cut my cuticles with the drill. I bled so bad they had to put SUPER GLUE on it to stop it. I also got my nails done with tinted acrylic that are already chipping after 1 week. It saddens me because it's really hard to find a good nail shop and now I have to search for a new one. Oh by the way they only discounted me 10 dollars for this whole ordeal.

Vicki use to be the best in the city to get your brows done. The last 2 times I wasn’t pleased. The first time she took too much off leaving them thin she didn’t make me pay. I gave her another chance because I figured she was very busy the time before. Months later I return she did the exact same thing I only wanted them cleaned up and filled in she took sooooo much off. Vicki slowwwww down and take your time.

My favorite nail shop been going here for 10+ well should I say going to Vicky for 10+ she is amazing very nice place clean sanitized. She’s very respectable. She get your eyebrows on point even though she’s heavy handed she get the job done. Do not waste your time! I went to Vickys nails after over a year hiatus from this dump and was quickly reminded why I stoped coming here! I received a no chip that was chipping within 3 days! There were towels all over the floor. Poor communication with the tech! The list goes on! Never again will I waste my money here! There are too many options to settle for this type of F-cked up service!

My eyebrows came out good this time but the first time not so much... I love mood polish and their selection was very limited and the color chart didn't show the transition from hot to cold... This is my second time going to VL Nails & I'm on the fence about going back... I guess three strikes and you're out, lol... One good thing about the nail shop is that they open as early as 9:00 a.m.

I went to get my lashes done and the next day they looked horrible, went back to get a refund or get them fixed and they didn’t do either, I called the police but they couldn’t settle it because they Claimed it was between me and the business. Basically they are not accommodating to their customers and money hungry! I was a regular customer but I will never be back in there!

I went to get eyebrow tinting. Vicki who appears to be the shop clown, and the fast eyebrow waxer on the south side of Chicago, doesn't take the time to ask what you want. She over drew on my right eye and made both eyebrows thin. I woke the next day having to draw my brows in because it looked like nothing had been done. No I will NOT GO BACK AND I WONT RECOMMEND HER.

The nail tech rushed through my service, didn’t know how to do ombré nails so I settled for a different style. I had an overlay with no chip, chipped in a week, even my toes, which never chip, even with regular polish. Didn’t receive everything listed on the menu for the premium pedicure either. Don’t go here. Too huge for them to actually take care of their clients.

Love the fact that they are always open and have availability but the service here is terrible and the technicians all have the worst attitude and appear angry as if they hate their jobs. Sometimes you get lucky and find someone who does great nails or brows but most of them rush and end up messing up because they are paid by how many they service. Good luck

Place is extremely unorganized. If you’re getting your eyebrows waxed along with any other service, they make you pay for everything before you get your eyebrows done. Then when you tell them you paid already, they act like they don’t believe you, and want to call their security guard on you. Wish I could rate 0 stars. I’ll never come back to this place.

I liked my nails from them in the past but My last experience made me not want to come back. They kept switching prices on service. I told them what I wanted up front and asked the price. A lady told me 55 then went up to 65 in the middle of doing my nails and all I left with were some basic a$$ one color nails medium length no design no nothing.

This was the worst ever. They are NOT social distance. Way to may people inside. The nail tech didnt understand my request and got an attitude with me. I was a walk in & was serviced immediately. I got a pedicure & manicure. The other 2 people that were with me got a pedicure manicure & 1 of them got full set plus pedicure & eyebrow waxing. We all got done approximately the same time. They were friendly, professional, thorough, & didn't waste anytime doing the job.

They are very much unprofessional. And there nail polish quality is really bad. Your paint comes off the same day even with no chip. I would not recommend to come here. Ever! My nails looked great on Friday but by Saturday the no chip polish chipped. They fixed the nail polish free but by the next day the polish on 2 other nails chipped. The door of the business says they open at 9:30 am Sun through Thur however i arrived at 10 am on a Tue and the business was not open.

I really enjoy going there , they get you in and get you out most of them act very professional and some really care and they take their time and take care of you not all of them but some of them do care so I've learned the ones that does a good job and take care of their customers.

I only go for my eyebrows so I cant say much about other services but they keep a consistent flow of traffic... Vicky is the Best (5-stars) with the brows though!! She can be nice and mean so just speak (maybe ask how she is doing) and keep it pushing because you never know.
