Our family of six spent a half day with Lucia on a private cicchetti tour of Venice back in 2019. I won’t repeat what I wrote in my review then other than to say that both Lucia and the tour were simply unimprovable — THE unexpected highlight of a wide-ranging, high-end trip through Europe. Fast forward three years and through lots of pandemic-rescheduled travel, we finally had a chance to get back to beautiful Venice and immediately booked Lucia for two private full-day tours. We let Lucia know that our main interests were (1) getting a real “drink” of hidden, off-the-beaten-path Venice, and (2) continuing our tour through Venice’s amazing food/wine/cocktail scene. We otherwise left ourselves entirely in her hands. Long story short, we once again had a tour and guide that surpassed every expectation. We spent hours touring and learning about unspeakably beautiful areas of Dorsoduro and Canareggio which were often literally empty except for Lucia, our family, and the inimitable city of Venice. We had amazing food and drink surrounded by happy locals, we visited (courtesy of Lucia’s friendship with everyone in Venice, I think) some closed/private locations I won’t detail here, and we spent two days with a guide whose knowledge, passion, kindness, humor, patience, discretion, and just plain old goodness/decency makes her feel to us like a forever family friend. I’ll wrap up this review this way: think of the effort and expense required to thoughtfully plan and execute a family trip to a faraway place like Venice. Think realistically about the number of times you’ll actually make it there. And now trust me when I say that a guide like Lucia is like the catalyst — the unexpected secret ingredient — who makes each of those hours and dollars pay off the way you hoped and dreamed but almost never actually achieve. She is the best tour guide we’ve ever worked with anywhere period and we could not recommend her more highly. Do your life a favor and reach out to Lucia if you’re visiting Venice. You can thank me later! :-)

Lucia was very open on our communication prior to our tour at the Gallerie dell’ Accademia. She graciously accommodated our request to focus the tour on the artwork at the Accademia. She met us punctually and with an amazingly friendly greeting. She first showed us some images of Venetian artwork to describe the differences in the modern-day buildings as she described some historical information about the Accademia. She has lived in the US for a number of years and her English is perfect. Once we entered the Gallerie Lucia’s extraordinary passion and vast knowledge about Venetian art, culture and history became apparent instantly. She had meticulously planned the sequence of paintings and artwork to view with us. She pointed out many aspects and details in the paintings while she provided an in-depth commentary about the painter and their art. Lucia has a strong connection with the Venetian art and brings it to life. Lucia was very willing to answer any question that we had. She kept the pace of the tour coordinated with our desires. The 2.5 hours in the Gallerie was an amazing experience and we are so grateful to Lucia for becoming a friend while she shared her knowledge as we explored the art collection with her. We highly recommend Lucia as your next tour guide.

Lucia is an incredible guide. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate. She is also the sweetest most patient person. Both adults and children thoroughly enjoyed her explanation, anecdotes and descriptions. My kids especially enjoyed the scavenger hunt format and the point system. She came prepared with booklets, pens and even gave them candies and souvenirs at the end. They were captivated the whole time and asked SO many questions. Lucia took the time to point out local eateries, gelaterias, pasticcerias etc and even circled them on a map she handed us at the end of the tour. If you are in Venise, I HIGHLY recommend you book Lucia’s tour, you will not regret it.

Amazing day in Venice! Lucia was AMAZING! I had studied Venice in many of my history classes at school and I still learned volumes from our tour. She was the most prepared and friendly guide I've ever had. She took us all around Venice, told us the history, and gave many recommendations for eating and shopping. We also toured the Dogi Palace and most, if not all of San Marco. Even when it came time to end the tour she was more then helpful in giving us directions and suggestions of what to do for the rest of the day. Lucia made our day in Venice the best I've had in Europe!!

We had a wonderful full day walking tour with Lucia! We walked across the Rialto bridge, to St Marks Square, and toured Doge’s Palace. Lucia is an absolute wealth of information; she explained the significance of each room - as well as the meaning behind the intricate art. We stopped for lunch at a great restaurant, and then walked to Cannaregio to continue our tour. Again, Lucia shared with us incredible stories and historical perspectives. We feel like we got a taste of the real Venice, and not just the touristy parts. We highly recommend touring with Lucia!

Our family had an amazing tour with Lucia last week! She shared so much local knowledge and history with us, but magically delivered the information in a way that kept even my 10 year old engaged! He’s still pointing out Venetian symbols everywhere even a week later Lucia is able to balance the tour so that both adults and kids are fully intrigued. We would not hesitate to book with her again. Lucia didn't have time to give our family a tour, but she went out of her way to make recommendations to an amazing place for mask painting and booked us a trip to and from a Murano glass making factory/art gallery. She picked us up at our hotel lobby and gave a mini tour to our 7 and 5 year olds as she walked us to where the boat was waiting to pick us up. The whole experience was flawless and our kids' favorite part of Venice was spending time with Miss Lucia! Thanks so much for taking such great care of us, Lucia! We loved our time in your city.

We did two tours with Lucia, one in Dorsoduro and the next day we visited St. Marks and the Doges palace. Both were outstanding! She was very good with our four children and helped them to know about Venice and love it. I have videos of them racing through the streets trying to complete the next answer in her scavenger hunt game. The rest of our two week trip they were pointing out lions everywhere we went. She really made an impression on them and I would highly recommend her as a guide for families as well as anyone else!

The St. Marks and Doge Palace tour was so much fun. Lucia is one of the best tour guides our group has ever experienced and we have hired many. She has an incredible depth of knowledge of the Venetian culture and the many sites to see in this amazing city. Her engaging personality and ability to relate so many interesting facts about the city will keep you entertained. I learned so much I didn't know despite having been to Venice several times. Lucia’s tour was one of the best. A wealth of knowledge from a true proud Venetian. A wonderful experience for our family of 6 who all thoroughly enjoyed our time learning about Venice and the hidden quirks and meanings scattered throughout the city. We loved our walking tour in Venice, organized and led by Lucia! She is warm, enthusiastic, extremely informative, and fun. She is a master of the history, the places, the dates, and the politics of the long history of Venice. She communicates clearly and brings pictures and maps to supplement her narrative. We had a great family tour with our 9,8 and 6 year old children. It was fun and creative and the children really enjoyed the walk and we had no complaints for the 2 hours. Absolutely adored her and the tour of the Doge’s Palace. She was so patient, kind and fun with my three kids. She was so informative and interesting for the adults! We all learned and enjoyed so much, and just wanted to hang out with her throughout our whole time in Venice! Highly recommend!

Amazing time exploring Venice with Lucy. We had 3 energetic boys, and she kept everyone engaged and interested. My 4 year old still talks about the treasure hunt every day! And we learned a lot about the history and culture of Venice in just 2 hours. Could not recommend more highly.
