What can one say about their fur baby. They love you unconditionally and are always there to make you laugh and put a smile on your face. So when Tank, our English Bulldog got sick, we were nervous and devastated. We wanted to make him feel better and didn’t know how. We reached out to the Veterinary Emergency Group, we let them know the symptoms over the phone and they advised that he should be seen “by a 24 hour Veterinary Emergency clinic.” Not, “oh yes bring him over to us.” That statement that the doctor made, had us. Upon our arrival, Dr. Butts was the veterinarian on duty along with Tanks’ “personal care” team. Jaelyn, Rocio, and Jessie. These three young ladies went above and beyond in providing care for our big guy. Not just that, they made sure that my wife and I were in a good space. Emotionally and physically. They offered us snacks and drinks. They offered us floor chairs, and blankets. Not just them, but all the staff would ask us every few hours if we were ok, if we needed anything to make us more comfortable. Once they said that we could spend the night with our big guy, we were 1000% sure that we had made the right choice. The over night doctor(Dr. Taylor) was very attentive and so was his over night primary nurse Liz. She was amazing. I don’t know of any other pet ER locations that allow you to stay over night, much less accommodate you so that you’re comfortable, here, they set up a different room for us to spend the night. The ENTIRE over night staff was equally as caring for us. To many wonderful and gentle people there to name, but they were ALL great!

My kitty Goose went in for vomiting and turns out she ingested a bikini string. Dr. Butts and the rest of the team saved her life and I couldn’t be more grateful. Dr. Butts was so kind and made sure to explain things in ways I understood/answered every single question I had. She told me about the surgical risks in a way that minimized stress but still emotionally prepared me. They made her and me feel so comfortable, and didn’t pass any judgement when I hardly left her side for two days. One of the vet assistants Brittany (I think that’s the term, I’m sorry if I’m wrong!) moved in one of the lobby couches to where Goose was staying and I was sitting in a chair, so I could be more comfy throughout the night. VEG beyond exceeded my expectations and I had no doubt at any point that Goosey was in great hands. At every single point I felt heard, informed, and never judged (even when I’m sure I was in the way at some points bc I hardly left lol). Jaelyn was also super sweet and kind to me throughout the process (and even gave me a sticker that looked just like Goose) Thank you to the rest of the team as well, who kept checking on us and bringing me snacks/water. I’ll never stop raving about the care Goose received, and even the care I received! If you need your pet looked at, this is the place to go I’ll forever be grateful that Goose is still here with me.

Our dog Oakley had cancer and was doing well. . . until she wasn't. It was Sunday morning and she couldn't walk. We knew she needed to go to the vet asap so I looked at the online reviews for VEG - Houston. When we got there they triaged us quickly. I was especially grateful for being able to stay with her the whole time. Since it was quickly determined that she had fluid in her chest and stomach, we knew that we had to make the right decision for her. I was planning on home euthanasia, but we weren't going to be able to do it that way. Everyone was kind and compassionate through the whole process. Not the way we wanted it to go, but at least we know she is at peace and not in pain any longer. While I wasn't concerned with the final cost at this point, they did not charge us for the office visit since there was minimal done but determining that she had the fluid. They didn't have to do that and I doubt many other emergency vets would have offered upfront to forego that charge. I hope we don't have to visit them anytime soon, but if we do, I will go without hesitation. The open concept is wonderful. I highly recommend.

The absolute best at what they do!! Their compassion, quality, and attention to each patient that walks through the door is exceptional. I am so grateful for their sympathy and quick-to-respond reaction. It truly meant the world to me (as I am sure to all pet parents). I felt the genuine care the moment I walked through the door. I had to leave my 14-year-old 5 lb dog overnight and the nurses took such great care of her. Nurse MJ would send me update text messages of my dog at night (and even sent me a picture of her)! That small gesture was the most kindest and compassionate thing a nurse can do. We who are pet parents know the anguish one feels leaving their loved one at the hospital overnight. Therefore, I immediately knew this ER was amazing (amongst all the other things I described). I HIGHLY recommend taking your pet here for any emergency!! They will be in great hands and they do the most for your little fur baby. Thank you all very much!! <3

I can't say enough about VEG. Every single person we dealt with while our dog was in their care was exceptionally kind, compassionate, and helpful. We were offered the opportunity to stay with our dog the entire time he was in their care. They even offered to allow us to stay overnight with him. That offer alone was very reassuring. Allegra, Dr. Lang, Dr. Butts, Dr. Panelli, and Jaelyn were all involved in our dog's care and all of them went above and beyond to keep us informed about our dog's treatment. We got pictures, texts, and phone calls which we really appreciated. Our dog ultimately had to be transferred to a specialty hospital after VEG stabilized him, and VEG reached out the following day to check in with us. When you are in a scary situation with your pet it is so very reassuring to work with deeply professional people who clearly care about their work and the animals they care for. Thank you, VEG for all you did for our dog and us.

I just left VEG after my dog Cloud decided to swallow a large chew and I’m so glad I came here! I called ahead of time to fill out paperwork via text. Luckily VEG is half a mile from where I live so I immediately went there to have peace of mind after my dog swallowed something large. I was immediately greeted by the entire staff with so much compassion & good energy. I felt so safe in this space and my dog did as well! They listened to what happened to my dog and immediately took action! I was given a price breakdown after they gave a diagnosis and went to work! They took X-rays to see if they could see the object in my dogs stomach and induced vomiting. Only food showed up on the first try but the large object finally showed up on the second try! Everyone in the room celebrated that my dog was safe! The staff really went above and beyond in navigating these stressful situations for me and my dog and I’m forever thankful! Thank you again ❤️

Nurse Allegra and Dr Sanderson are awesome!! My dog Atlas, a 7 yo Husky/GShep mix sustained a deep fore leg laceration injury from what was meant to be a day of pampering at the groomer. He had a severed artery. I came to VEG due to a GPS error since I meant to go to a much bigger pet ER that I was familiar with from a prior pet emergency. My wife thought you all would be limited to urgent care but I said the name clearly says Emergency and we didn’t have time to search for the other place. I was extremely pleased with our pets care. I loved the open care concept which made our dog, Atlas less anxious because he saw his family nearby. I was able to pet him and help out which made me less anxious too. No one wants a day at the ER; but the customer care was superb! I especially appreciate them also because I’m a family physician and I know providing quality compassionate care is an art and a passion.

October 18, 2023 was a frightening & sad night. We arrived at the hospital and the staff were waiting outside with a gurney. Everyone moved quickly to help our Jazzy. We were able to stay with Jazzy the entire time which meant so much to us and to Jazzy (sorry if I was in the way). Sadly my girl had bloat and surgery was the only option. I felt surgery would be too hard on her being 16 years 9 months, I couldn’t put her through that. We had to let our girl return home to the most beautiful place, Heaven. I promised Jazzy that her brother & I would be with her till her last breathe and we honored that promise to her. I want to thank Dr. Panelli, Kayleigh, Stephanie & the staff for showing my girl so much care and compassion. I can’t thank them enough. On Christmas day, our Pomeranian Frankie faced a critical moment, prompting us to seek immediate attention. The exceptional care began with the front desk staff and continued with Paula, our informative and compassionate tech, who promptly placed Frankie in the oxygen chamber. Dr. Sanderson, a knowledgeable and empathetic professional, assessed Frankie's condition, addressing all our questions. Despite slim odds, with Paula and Dr. Sanderson's expertise, it became a true Christmas miracle as Frankie not only pulled through but is steadily recovering. The outstanding service extended beyond our visit, with a thoughtful follow-up the next day, demonstrating continuous support for any post-visit concerns. I would wholeheartedly give this facility and its remarkable team a 10-star review. Thank you for everything you've done for us and our beloved Frankie.

An emergency vet is never the place a pet parent wants to end up, and it certainly wasn’t on our agenda today. Unfortunately, when our 2 month old kitten misjudged a coffee table to couch jump (that he has made numerous times), we didn’t really have a choice. Lucky for us, Veterinary Emergency Group was the closest animal ER to where we live and we got our guy there post haste. The entire staff there was so welcoming and calming, offering this mess of a cat mom water and Kleenex while my partner was able to explain what happened. Every single staff member we interacted with was so calming and just really helped to deescalate our nerves and anxieties while also providing our kitten the best care. While I hope to not be a repeat customer, I will absolutely return to VEG for any emergency issue in our future.

I am so grateful for the experience and professionalism I received from the entire staff. I woke up in a panic my baby was acting very strange and unable to breathe. It scared me so I couldn’t even talk to explain her behaviors over the phone. Quiesha the receptionist was so welcoming and kind she really calmed me down. She transferred my call to a staff member in the back I believe it was Sally or you can just call her an Angel. She asked about Gracie again I tried my best to explain, after she told me to visit the hospital. Dr. Nahir Panelli examined Gracie she was very gentle with my baby and provided feedback and encouragement. I was not prepared financially or mentally but they went above and beyond to make sure my baby received the attention and care she needed. And I am forever grateful, Thank you.

Absolutely the highest quality emergency medicine you will find in the Houston area. They are extremely caring and very compassionate. From the moment we walked in the doors we felt like a priority to them. I didn't catch the receptionists name but she was super kind and Sonny and Dr. Taylor were fabulous. They sat on the floor with us and explained everything calmly and were very gentle with fred. They had great communication and made sure I understood the next steps. Fred is at home feeling better thanks to their care, and being able to be with him the whole time did wonders for my anxiety. Hopefully we won't need an emergency room any time soon but if we do there are no doubts in my mind we will return here. Thank you all so much!

ABOSOLUTLY LOOOOVED Dr. Shalsee Vigeant. My dog sliced her paw up pretty bad, and when I say the care for her was unbelievable it was UNBELIEVABLE. My Pit is my first actual dog and she is 100% spoiled, so you can imagine my love for her. The doctor allowed me to be with my baby while she was being sedated and while she was getting her stitches the whole way through her emergency visit which was awesome for me. When I tell you I was worried I was worries as if my 10year old daughter was laying on that table. The knowledge the doctor has on certain injuries, which pushed her for a certain stich was amazing to me. If any emergency's come up I will definitely not hesitate to call and make sure she is onsite.

This was the BEST veterinary experience I have ever had. We came in with our pup (Kenai) having an allergic reaction and swelling in the face. We were terrified and the staff was so welcoming, understanding and kind. The doctor and a nurse greeted us at the door and we were immediately taken to a triage room. We were offered blankets and snacks while we patiently waited for kenai to feel better. They took care of both us and our dog and were very compassionate and talked us through every step. I don’t have the words to describe how incredible the experience was but I will be forever grateful for how kind they were and for helping our sweet kenai. Thank you!!

Staff was fairly nice but the wait time for anything was soooo long. And I was a little annoyed as the Vet wanted to give subcutaneous fluids to our cat but she wouldn’t tell me how much she was going to give because she was afraid we were going to do it ourselves at home….because we are in the medical field ourselves. So she kept saying she would have to calculate it after we agreed to it. The thing is I was going to do it there but after she kept refusing to answer my question I decided to just google it and do it myself at home. I understand it’s a business but it’s a valid question to ask and greed shouldn’t the reason they don’t answer

Despite the outcome of our visit, we had a great experience at VEG. Dr. Butts was incredibly compassionate through our entire visit, taking time to explain what was wrong with our sweet girl, and walk us through our options. The entire team was patient and kind. Ultimately we had to make the difficult decision to let our girl pass due to a horrible prognosis and rapid decline, but I will always be thankful for the support of the VEG team. They did not rush us, allowed us to make the decision when we were ready, and supported us through the process. While I hope to not have to visit VEG again, I know that they provide excellent care.

If I could give 100 stars I would. The care this team put into trying to save my recent rescue was unbelievable. Every single member of their team was hands on, attentive, sweet, compassionate, and hardworking. Background: we adopted Pepper and shortly after getting her home, she started experiencing bleeding. Brought her in and she had to go into emergency surgery. The team fought to give pepper a chance, and we will forever be grateful for that. Thank you to the VEG team for your top tier care and for giving pepper the chance she deserved. I am so glad her last few hours were being loved by a family, and receiving amazing care.

My 8 year old dog was attacked by 2 bigger dogs last night around 11pm and we rushed her her. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!! They way they took care of our little baby was incredible. The staff was so sweet, welcoming and friendly and explained everything that was going on. They explained the prices and broke everything down for us, nothing was forced. They allowed my husband and I to stay by our dogs side the entire time and luckily she was able to walk out of there with just a few stitches. I will definitely be coming back here in the future. The staff was amazing! It’s the best experience we’ve had at a vet.

So good, I wish they were my own doctors haha. They were so nice and helped me get my pup seen by an eye specialist when they recognized instantly that it would be necessary. The whole experience was top-notch from Dr. Taylor to all of the supporting staff. They were able to synthesize an emergency serum on-site that saved my dog’s eye while I waited for the specialist’s office to open. My only complain is that there’s no picture on Google of the inside of their triage room, which looks so cool I want to show my friends haha. This is for sure mine and my family’s new emergency vet from now on, and thank you all so much!

Dr. Butts was amazing. She helped keep me calm and explained all of my options. I eventually had to choose to put my cat down since he was elderly and I didn't think he would have a good life after surgery. Dr. Butts made sure to make me feel comfortable in my decision and not to shame me for choosing so. Everyone here worked with me and showed me several different payment plans and types. They also made sure to show me less expensive options for treatment and for putting him down since money was a concern. I can see why my vet recommend this place and I plan on coming here if any of my other pets have issues.

I came in today due to concerns over my dog . They were by far the best emergency vet clinic I have been to. I was nervous of taking him as I have seen other emergency vet bills (clinics) through the roof and they always say there’s only one option. Thankfully here they were open and honest. They gave me different options I could choose from. As for pricing, it’s not too bad compared to others. The veterinarian was very kind and knowledgeable and answered all my questions I had. The team in general were so welcoming and kind to my dog and my dog was comfortable with them. I definitely recommend them .

Absolutely the best emergency room for pets that I’ve ever encountered! This ER is ranked #1 in my book. My baby was having respiratory problems and the team immediately went to work with him being top priority when I enter the doors. Staff very attentive , kind, compassionate and patient! Dr. D was simply amazing, special shout out to the Nurse Tech Allison is such an amazing , caring , considerate & supportive person professional, she made sure that me and Butter was taking care of the whole time, I love you girl! ! I highly recommend bringing your pup here when you are in need of an emergency! It was a smooth process from start to finish. Fast check in and the staff was so kind and nice with my pup & myself! My poor lily had been stung by a bee and she was limping on her back leg & in pain! But she was quickly seen & given the proper care to get better. They make sure to walk through what will be done & make sure to let you know the estimated cost before doing anything! I hope I never have to use an emergency visit again, but if I do, Veg will definitely be my first choice to go to! :)

Competent professionals who are so incredibly good at their jobs. My dog fell from the second story of my house and I rushed him over in a state of panic and they immediately got to work. They explained everything and were very patient with my questions. Costs were extremely reasonable considering the nature of his accident. As an ER group, they could charge patients exorbitant amounts and get away with it—but they don’t, and they really seem to care about the animals in their care. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars.

VEG was one of the best vet experiences I have ever had. After my dog was attacked by a raccoon, I was referred to VEG by a local vet. I called them, was checked in, and greeted by name upon arrival. They allowed me to be involved in every part of the treatment process, which is huge for my fearful dog. He was treated entirely in the lobby, I placed the muzzle, and was allowed to give him treats the whole time. I can’t recommend this VEG enough for anyone who has an emergency. You and your pet will be well taken care of!

Our cat, Indy, was having urinary blockage problems when we took him to see VEG. We could not have been happier with our experience. The team is super warm and friendly, it's very clear they are knowledgeable, and we felt very attended to the entire time we were there. We primarily saw Dr. Dodd and Kimberly and they were both fantastic. Best of all, we got to stay with Indy the entire time, even during procedures. Always the hope that we never have to go to an emergency vet again, but if we do it will definitely be VEG.

I was so impressed by the speed and quality of care that my pup received here. He swallowed a ball of aluminum foil while on a walk in the neighborhood. We called VEG and the receptionist immediately put us on the phone with a doctor who recommended we come in. Everyone was professional and helped me feel calm during a stressful situation. They triaged my dog, provided a quote of their services, and treated him within minutes of walking through the door. Highly recommend VEG for emergency veterinary care.

This Vet ER took such great care of my dog Kain. They tended to his injuries, made sure i was comfortable and were very honest about the treatment he needed. Kimberlee and Dr Butts were amazing. When i called worried about cost the receptionist assured me to just bring my dog in and we could figure the finances out later! Everyone was so sweet and attentive! The others nurses that took care of my fur baby was amazing as well! Definitely wish they could be our normal veterinary but we will be back!

We recently moved to Houston and needed a vet for a dog bite wound in the evening hours. The team at VEG was excellent. They greeted us at the door and walked us straight into the area where our dog was taken care of. Every one we interacted with was very helpful and considerate. We were only there for about an hour and got the exact care our dog needed. They even sent a follow up text to check in the next morning and did not hesitate having us come back after an allergic reaction the next night.

The staff here are very knowledgeable and caring. We took our cat in due to some general illness, and the staff helped us figure out it was actually a rare poisoning from minoxidil. They were able to keep here there on the medicine she needed until the poison worked it’s way out. They’ll even let you come in as often as you’d need and let you stay with your pet nearly the entire time. Really thankful for everyone here, our girl clearly liked her stay and wouldn’t be home now without y’all!

If you are considering an emergency vet, I urge you to please use VEG. They are everything and more. Their attention to detail and love for animals is beyond anything I can accurately put into words. Although my dog ended up passing, I know in my heart they did absolutely everything they could to help her. They made the process of having to put her down as beautiful and easy as possible. VEG, thank you so much for everything. My dog Annie and I will never forget what you did for us.

Unfortunately, our family had to euthanize one of our pets yesterday. The team at VEG was absolutely wonderful and helped lessen the difficulty of an already difficult situation. The nurses who helped us, Sonny and Ashley, were so very gentle with our cat who is historically extremely skittish. Dr Butts took the time to explain the entire process and told us exactly what to expect during each step. Everyone was so compassionate and wonderful

I highly recommend this place . We were seen immediately and Dr. Rome and her staff were amazing. My fur baby could even sense he was in the right place for his care. To top that off, Dr. Rome did a follow up on Vixen the next day. How amazing is that? The care didn’t end at check out, she cared enough to follow up. Now that says everything about this place. The staff was amazing too. Thank you all of you for your pleasant hospitality.

I see why they have amazing reviews! Not only do they have great coffee to keep us up, but also their staff is top tier. Dr. Cara and Erica took care of our baby girl Jade and made us feel comfortable explaining everything that should/could be done for her instead of bombarding us by racking up a bill. Everyone there from the front desk to all the staff in the back were very friendly and welcoming! 10/10 recommend!

Outstanding care and wonderful, caring staff. While I hope I don't need their services again soon, here is where I would take my animal for any emergency. I appreciated their communicating clearly with me about not only the situation with my pet, but options for treatment and costs. Their follow-up afterward was also much appreciated. The doctor and tech Lauren were Amazing in their care of my sweet Daisy. I was scared and upset and they quickly did the exam as well as clearly explaining my options. Lauren was so helpful by explaining all the medications and offered a card with her name to call with any further questions. I highly recommend VEG for any animal emergency; they will take amazing care of your fur babies.

Highly recommend VEG! Brought my dog here on Christmas Eve and the staff was extremely friendly. My dog was seen right away. They clearly communicated & thoroughly explained everything to me throughout the entire treatment process. I could tell the staff loves their jobs & truly love and care for animals. I will definitely be returning here if my dog ever needs emergency care again.

I usually don’t leave reviews but I’m making an exception. We had to put our sweet Precious to sleep 2 months ago. Everyone at this emergency center was amazing and walked us through each step and gave us as much time as we needed with our girl. They also unexpectedly sent us a card signed by the staff. I highly recommend this emergency facility if you want the best care.

Came in with my cat, Cali, who had ingested something and was vomiting because of it. The whole team here made me feel very comfortable and well taken care of. They were so helpful and every employee was so kind. You could tell that every person loved their job and they were so good with our dog. Our dog ate a chocolate cake, so we called then on our way. We were directed to call poison control and they worked together for his treatment. It went smooth and he left feeling good.

Very frantic as my Cane Corso was loosing a lot of blood and not responding; from an injury that appeared to be buck shot wounds. The staff is absolutely amazing, kind, and so knowledgeable about everything! They truly care about animals and I felt great about leaving my dog in their care. Called and had no wait- they immediately brought my dog in and I got to be with him the whole time. Kim and Dr. Dodd were amazing and had a ton of experience and knowledge to make sure my dog was well taken care of. They made me feel comfortable and I knew my dog was in great hands!!

Went tonight to get my dog checked out. Groomer cut her ear and she was bleeding. The vets were quick and explained our care options. Definitely better and faster than other 24/7 vets I've visited. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will come back in case of an emergency.

We took our dog in for an emergency head wound they took us in they were kind and patient with rocky I loved how they treat their pet patients! I definitely recommend taking your pet here for an emergency my dog fully recovered thanks to veterinary emergency group!
