Victoria Park is one of the most beautiful, majestic, notable and most visited parks in Greater London spreading over 218 acres of green space interspersed with Parklands, Boating and Angling Lakes, Birds Island, Wildlife, Varied Landscapes, Diverse Range of Trees, English Garden, Arts, Sculptures, Cafes, Playgrounds, Sports Facilities, Events Venue, Fountains, Historic Trail, World of Trees, Walking Trails and much more! The prettiest natural Victoria Park attracts everyone's attention! It is a must visit for everyone! It is the London's 3rd largest and Tower Hamlets largest park. Victoria Park is locally known as Vicky Park or the People’s Park! Victoria Park is a very welcoming place and attractive locations for everyone of all ages and abilities for anytime of the year! There is something at the park for each member of the family. Vicky Park is always full of visitors - some doing exercises, some using the park as a shortcut to the other side, some having picnics, sunbathing, reading books, playing with children, enjoying wildlife, Angling on the lake, Boating on the West Lake, observing the wildlife, discovering the Spring Blooms, having a coffee break and/or lunch/brunch, having a stroll following the Walking Trails around the park exploring the history of the park, and historic trees! Large, wider concrete footpaths very effectively connect all parts of the Park, entrances, features, playgrounds, and sports facilities! Hence, it is very much accessible for anyone with mobility restrictions, wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and pushchairs! Accessible Toilets ♿ are available on both sides of the Park! It is most commonly seen when travelling through the roads and/or Regent's Canal flanked by the borders of the Park. Grove Road splits the park in two sections - West and East! The smaller West Park boasts Victoria Park West Lake with Water Fountain while you’ll find the Victoria Fountain, Bowling Green, Tennis Courts, and Athletic Field in the larger East Park! Because of the large wide open space Grasslands - Victoria Park hosts many large events including festivals, community events, 5K Runs, sports competitions and much more!
It's a beautiful park, lots of wide open space, easy access to canal or river walks, 3 minutes from Hackney wick Station, numerous beautiful lakes 2 of which doggy can paddle in.... its huge, separated into two parts by a busy road but there is a zebra crossing and the rest is fenced so dog can't run into the road connecting the two parts. It has 2 cafes, both dog friendly, it has a great skatepark if you are inclined, a large children's play area, plenty of picnic benches by the lake, (you can also go fishing there) tennis courts, cricket practise bowling facilities, a running track, monkey bars for exercise, 3 lots of public toilets.....there is a great and extensive farmers and artisan foods market at weekends.....don't let the hackney postcode put you off......this is a VERY safe and peaceful park with lots of space, its rarely overcrowded. Look out for the pretty Chinese pavilion and the historical dog statues at the gates and on the lake island...... one of the best central london open spaces......beaten only by the heath....however if you have buggies or mobility issues it beats the heath as its all flat... I LOVE to walk here
Our second time visiting this park as we were cycling by and thought we stop here. Victoria Park is a lovely park which has a nice and calming feel to it. There's so much space to cycle around, walk, skate or walk your dog. There's a nice big pond area to view the swans or ducks. Lots of information about the variety on them too! I absolutely love the numerous trees here. It's wonderful! The only negative I have is the public toilets as they were rather smelly and untidy. The toilet roll holder was broke and needed to be screwed in properly! No soap in the water dispenser at all! There was antiseptic gel outside but none was coming out at all! So make sure you bring your own! I would have thought seeing as this park is soo lovely, staff could make an effort to clean and maintain the public toilets especially during these covid-19 times! I enjoyed cycling along the canal leading towards Mile End but only got as far as the Isle of Dogs. You will see quite a number of people walking, cycling and joggers along the way.
I'm thrilled to share my experience at Victoria Park Sunday Market! The atmosphere was truly amazing, buzzing with a vibrant and lively vibe that instantly put me in a great mood. The variety of food options available at the market was impressive. From mouthwatering street food to delightful artisanal treats, my taste buds were treated to a delightful culinary adventure. One of the highlights of my visit was spending time near the pagoda. The peaceful and picturesque setting provided a perfect respite from the energetic market ambiance, allowing me to relax and enjoy the moment. Overall, Victoria Park Sunday Market exceeded my expectations with its incredible vibe, delicious food offerings, and serene spots like the pagoda. It's a perfect destination for a Sunday outing, and I can't wait to visit again to explore more of its treasures. Highly recommended!
One of the most incredible parks not only in East London, but all the city. Easily accessible by tube. The closest station is Mile End (Central and District lines). Some of the spots and activities include the Pavilion Café, known for its great breakfast options, seeing the birds, walking by the bridges for scenic views, going to the pagoda and even renting boats. But there are 2 stellar attractions: the food market in Sundays from 10 to 4 pm and walking along Regent’s Canal. The food market is impressive and has both local and international food, including cheese, cured meat, pastries, desserts, coffee, plants, etc. Some of the food stalls that seem really popular were Malaysian, Afghan, Philippino, Japanese, Greek, etc. It’s truly a local experience and a place worth exploring if you come to London
In all aspects the best park in London, thousands of visitors every weekend, can't be wrong & on top of people visiting, locals as well seven days a week, now well managed, clean & attractive to all ages. Lived in Hackney all my life in the 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's was a terrible park & place like most of the surrounding areas, but due to investment & regeneration, it's a beautiful park now.. 10/10
Playground
Massive modern & safe swing parks for all ages, paddling pools & slides & fun for all ages
Restrooms
Public toilets near the fantastic Pavilion cafe/bar & Hub cafe
Dog-friendliness
Everywhere is dog friendly including most of the shops in the surrounding areas
Picnic area
Acres & acres of picnic areas
A really good and clean park, has a few things for children to do. You can park on Sunday for free on any side road or just outside the park. Victoria park has two sides and they both have children playground and both side has a cafe, they have boating to do, which you do need to pay for. They have table tennis table only on one side of the park. It’s a nice place to come and do picnic with family or friends. You can walk through the park and enjoy beautiful view or cycle through.
Restrooms
There is toilet which is pretty clean considering the park was really busy.
Picnic area
You can picnic anywhere you want. Bring your picnic Floor mat.
This is one of my favourite London parks and certainly the most under-rated. It is huge (for London). We entered it having strolled along the canals down from Camden heading east. There is a wonderful lake with pagoda and pavilion, including boats to hire. Several children’s playareas, a skate park, and lots of benches to sit in the sun or shady and lots of space to stroll around amongst the trees. Always busy even in winter with walkers, runners and dog walking. A wonderful park all year-round. We walked right across it and then headed on towards Stratford. Lots of great walks taking in this park in the area.
Beautiful park in East London. I don't like the area as it has bad crime rates, but the park is a breath of relief from the area. For other photographers like myself who have a drone, this park is the closest you can fly to the London skyline. I highly recommend coming here at sunset and filming a hyperlapse of the sun setting behind the skyline. It's beautiful.
Playground
I think there's a playground
Restrooms
Public toilets available
Dog-friendliness
Tons of Dogs there
Picnic area
It's a massive grass field. Just sit on the ground. I think there were tables somewhere
A wonderful green space full of history. A perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature & relax. Beautiful all year round, visitors can enjoy bright Summer, golden Autumn, sparkling Winter and fresh Spring. Spacious, immaculately clean and with ample seating, it is popular with all Londoners. There are numerous amenities including cafes, picnic tables, children's playing areas, boating lake, Chinese Pagoda & tennis courts. Victoria Park wins awards every year. It is easy to see why. I count myself very lucky to live close to this fabulous park and visit as often as possible...
Had a lovely day here with the family. A warm sunny day in the park. Plenty of space and things to do. We did the boating first. There was 30minute and 60 minute sessions. If you get close to the water fountain you can get everyone in the boat alittle wet! After a nice homemade picnic, enjoyed the beaming sun. Played some badminton which was great fun. Went to the play area so the kids could go on the swings and slides. Everyone seems to have a great day. Topped it off with some lovely ice creams! Great day out with the family Salim Patel
Apparently park is in top 10 parks in UK. For me personally, it’s not the best and prettiest park. I can count more than 10 parks that are better. The park itself quite dirty with a lot of rubbish lying around and it’s not being picked up. Signs are everywhere not to leave rubbish, but people that visit don’t seem to care. There are few pretty nice looking historic landmarks there, but that is about it. A lot of people are cycling and running there, so if you want to explore and are looking for sightseeing this park is not for you.
This is a very flat park, but due to the many trees and small gardens it is still an interesting place to walk around. There is a small lake and the Pavilion cafe serves tasty food. There is a great children’s playground with a giant Viking-sequence swing. Very popular with joggers. Worth visiting, especially in the summer when a number of events take place. It is however magical all year round. It closes when dark in winter so be aware as have sometimes been locked in when cycling through early evening around 6pm.
This is my favourite park in London. I love walking along the canal that runs alongside the park. Amazing canal barges and narrow boats of all sizes and designs. The park is well maintained and clean. It has something for everyone. There are lots of benches where you can sit, relax and take in the scenery. It has a large lake where you can go boating, playgrounds for children, green area space for picnics and smooth tarmac paths that weave through the park for walking, running or roller skating.
Free park! Victoria Park or “Vicky Park” as it’s known locally, is London’s oldest public park. Opened in 1845 for the benefit of the East End working class, “The People’s Park” has a long and rich history spanning over 170 years. At 86 hectares, Victoria Park is the largest park in Tower Hamlets. It receives over 9 million visitors each year who enjoy a range of community activities, events, live music, and sports.
Playground
The main playground is very nice for kids.
A trip down memory lane, I spent a lot of time here as a kid, some things haven't changed like the lovely boating lake, the park it's big and well spread out, on our visit a large area been designated to a concert, 2 cafe bars one on east side one by the lake, couple of kids swing and slide areas, lots of areas to sit and have a picnic, we went to Bethnal Green stn (20min walk to main entrance with boating lake)Hackney wick is closer but coming from the sports end of park.
This park is ok as it is really big but my main problem is the water availability as there should be more water fountains to drink water from as you will get thirsty
Playground
There is a playground here it is nice with slides and stuff like that
Restrooms
There are toilets in a place next to the cafe
Dog-friendliness
You can bring your dog here it's fine
Picnic area
You can sit on the benches or in the grass under the shade is the tree
The park is big and nice but could be a little better , it needs some development like more trees and better structure to arrange open free space with more green and ponds could be better maintained . It is popular place so if you going to visit it on weekend during nice weather , expect many many Londoners looking for some peace and quiet. There is coffee bar , and toilet , few benches , beautiful fauna . However , something is missing indeed .
A wonderful park that has a very different ‘feel’ on each side of it, one being a lot more safe and smart and the other just sort of obnoxious and having little decorum. Nice broad paths for cycling down or roller blading and the canal side of the park is fantastic! Some great sunsets can be witnessed here and the bottling lake is a good shout on a warm sunny day. The toilets are shut fairly early in the evening.
Was really amazed at how large this park was and what it had to offer. There's lot's to explore, including a little rose garden, mini sunken garden, and English garden. There's a market of Sunday which has a brilliant range of foods. It's a great place for bikes or walking. The lakes are packed with wildlife and lovely views. There are a couple of cafés, loads of ice cream vans, and a limited number of toilets.
Really nice and large park in east London. Beautiful ponds, large fields and features a weekly market. Have spent a lot of time there especially during summer months, it’s beautiful and even allows views of the London skyline with a canal for lovely strolls to and from the park! There are a couple of restaurants dotted around the edge that are great for a Sunday meal after a walk in the park!
Walking through Victoria Park, the boating lake and refreshment area then onto Pagoda Island, back round lake and then through Mile End Park close to the Canal and boats! It was perfect, breezy, warm beautiful to feel that with birds and wildlife buzzing around. The canal boats were interesting to see, like being in the country it was so quiet, beautiful, take a picnic and blanket, therapy for sure
Great location near to the town of London multiple access travel points. Regent’s canal across to canal club community centre. Pavilion caffè toilets play land picnic park, Victoria park market every weekend. Victoria Chinese pagoda. Every weekend normal weather regal boat hire open very accessible prices. Access and parking disabilities. Table and chairs for slides swings for children etc
Nice and big park. I went to watch the football final, which was in a big area, where also it's happening a festival in other days. Besides that, there's also another big part for people enjoy walking, running or having fun. There's also a coffee shop inside the park with lovely staff and great food options (lots of veggie and vegan ones as well). I'll be back soon for sure!
Great park lots to do. Anyone who knows East London will tell you that this park accommodates the whole family. Perfect for workouts, dog walks, children, and those who want a perfect place to picnic 100% recommend.
Playground
Large playground
Dog-friendliness
Extremely dog friendly
Picnic area
Benches and loads of individual spots to have a picnic
Love this park! The improvements and money spent by making it better have been well spent, however there are quite a lot of music festivals that take place in summer that generate too much noise and people. The organic Cafe is a fav by the lake. Sometimes I prefer to walk/ cycle in the less busy part across the road.theres slso a v.good Cafe there! Much to enjoy!!
Really nice park, good to see the pagoda and it's island back, the cafe open, and the park busy and being used. Great for a stroll, it's interesting to look at the different birds on the lakes. You can walk from here along the canal in several different directions, which gives you plenty of options. Crocuses and daffodils in the spring too.
My very first time, 84 acres, open plan, so give you a Sunset feel good atmosphere Lots of historical places within, seating areas, modern toilets, Part one as I attended an event , with in the park ️ dog friendly great for family, children , skate area, wheel chair friendly , Lake, and pond, bandstand, play zone for kids ,
It is a nice park with the farmer market on Sunday It is a very busy lot of stand food vegetables meat plants chocolate bread fish milk all you want and a serie of food truck I like the French crepes.
Restrooms
Near the entrance by the pavilion or by the playground near the old rose garden also one by the tennis court
Beautiful oasis in east London . Left to the people by queen victoria during her reign in Victorian times . It still has a Victorian feel about it here and is surrounded by Victorian properties and a great looking canal towpath complete with lock gates ! I may be bias but of all the London parks to me this is the best
A really well kept park with plenty of space for everyone and wonderful picture-perfect spots! I find the atmosphere of Victoria Park energising and love running or walking for hours around the area. If you fancy a break from walking, you’ll also find plenty of spaces to sit and just enjoy the view❤️.
Great place for a walk, go on Sundays if you wish to eat well at the sunday market, its got a huge selection and there arent too many people in it, plenty of sitting room at the park too! The pagoda and fountains are beautiful, though its a shame that its dirty or vandalised at times.
Really cute, clean park! I did a half marathon here and the course was nice and flat. They have nice bathrooms in the cafe. The cafe has a wide variety of items including baked goods and drinks. This seems like a great park for dogs. Many people were walking with families and dogs.
Visited to attend the All Points East Festival... I mainly went for Stormzy but the whole event did not disappoint! The park itself was huge, nicely located and easy to access I would happily travel down to London again to attend another festival or event in this park!!!
not many faults for the place, the park being split by a road into 2 parts is strange but not a dealbreaker. A sunday or saturday food market is great, lots if grass for whatever activities; running, cycling and childrens park and fountain surrounded in a lake with ducks
This is quite a large park without of areas to explore , Such a wonderful place to get away from it all. Nice park and woodlands. Lots off things for the kids to play on and to run around. Perfect for walking and being with family and friends or just being on your own.
Large park in East London with lots of historical spots. Clean and has food markets on the weekends. Lots of runners and cyclists from the early morning to park closing. Lots of space and I like how it’s close to the canal so you can always take that route too.
Big park with lot of green area and place for picnics. Place for kids and play area is excellent. Lot of activities to do. Parking also available and few disable bays. Nice views and can take good pictures. Overall a great park close to central and east London.
A wonderful place to visit. Great for walks, cycling and picnics. 2 large playgrounds, amazing ponds and boat riding at the fountain area. So much to do. Definitely visit the old English garden, it's beautiful Sunsets are amazing …
Great place for family! Wonderful play grounds, nice coffee shop and lots of space to run and enjoy the weather. The only disappointing was the public toilet near pond (need cleaning on busy days and definitely refurbishment).
Visited for a music festival with Stormzy headlining. Good transport links well organised and laid out event. The park itself is huge. Plenty of food options inside and outside of the event. Perfect for outdoor music events
The most active park in London, its packed with people with so much wildlife, beautiful lake. Nice to see people making full use of this park with jogging and cycling and so many other fun activities, love the canal.
Lovely park. Amazing for kids. Take some swim stuff for kids in the summer, as they have a water area. There are two huge playgrounds with sand. Also cafes and toilets available. Parking after 12 noon free Mon-Fri
All Points East festival, once again exceeded my expectations! The event is so well organised! The staff were absolutely fantastic! Will definitely return to Victoria Park for the next APE festival!
Victoria Park in London’s Tower Hamlets is a large park with canals, ponds, a pavilion, tennis courts and a sports ground. Open air pop and rock concerts are held in the park during the summer.
A beautiful park with lakes, bating, gardens, playgrounds, sports fields, a bandstand, monuments and cafes. Food market on Sundays. Family vibe. A must visit park for Londoners and tourists.
A fantastic park in the East End of London. Big lakes with big fish in. Glad to say no fishing allowed. Lots of wildlife around lake. Lots of people enjoying themselves.
A great place for a lunchtime stroll giving you time to clear your mind ready for the next work challenge. Only visited once, but enjoyed the scenery and tranquility.
A big park with plenty of space to enjoy strolling, ball games, skateboarding, bike riding. A pleasure to walk along the canal & view the canal boats.
Beautiful park even in autumn and the rain. Lots of different birds and ducks. Really cute to walk around and see. Nice and peaceful park to chill in
Beautiful park! Cafe and bathroom available. Option to take pedal boats. Streetfood market on Sundays. Perfect for a picnic and to enjoy the sun.
My favourite park in east London, great for walking, cycling, running and loads of different activities. Park is kept clean and well maintained
Very nice to take your family for a picnic. Well looked after areas. Clean. Street food market every Sunday.
Lovely big park busy with dog walkers, joggers and loads of other activities, nice gardens, boating pond etc
This is one of my favourite places in London. Gorgeous with great coffee and food close at hand.
