It was my first time here and wasn’t pleased with hair color that left me with dye on my neck and forehead. If I would of known that I had dye on my skin, I would have not given tip. When I got sent to blow dry hair the girl didn’t finish and then said she won’t charge even though I wanted it fully dry she advise the dye specialist didn’t want my hair dyed because she wanted to see if color caught on but yet I never saw dye specialist after. I also felt misinformed when I called to schedule appointment the front desk never explained I had to schedule different appointments for haircut and color even though I mentioned it was my first time at there salon. I felt so sad at end of visit that I wasn’t able to get the look I initially wanted which I explained over phone. This wasn’t the only appointment today, I had brought niece and she was supposed to get both but since they never mentioned additional appointments required she was only able to get haircut. Very disappointed and will never return, I should have been given a full refund for dissatisfaction but lucky for them I’m not one to make a scene. Hope anyone who reads this, make sure to ask a lot of questions because they don’t educate on the process of there services.

I've been going here for a long time! :) It's definitely a salon experience, you can schedule via phone or online, they take you back and shampoo your hair and all that. Kyle has been my stylist for my entire hair journey from when my hair was down my back all the way to being chopped short. I was nervous the first time I went years ago because I've seen some horrendous short hair cuts, but Kyle always does it right. I brought photos in at each stage (from trim, to shoulder length, to boy-cut) and he explained to me how it might look different from the pics due to my hairline and helped me anticipate what will look different from the pictures. He always gives suggestions based off observations he's made on my own hair from years of working on it when I ask if I could try something different, and it always looks fantastic after we figure out what to do. The people are nice and I have loved every person I was with up until I made Kyle my permenant stylist. Just communicate what you want, listen to what the stylist who has been trained to do hair has to say, consider their input, and you'll be fine. :) Wonderful place. Wonderful people.

I saw all the good reviews for Martin so I scheduled with him for me and my daughter. When he first approached me, he did not greet me or smile or anything. He immediately started complaining about how much hair I have and how me and my daughter were only scheduled for 30min each. That’s not my fault. I did mention to the lady on the phone that my daughter has long hair. Martin rushed through my hair and it’s way too short. I specifically said that I didn’t want short and choppy layers. That’s exactly what I got though. He rushed and sent me on my way with hair that was still wet. After complaining, he said he would dry it to where I would like it. No, no drying is going to help what he did to my hair. And why didn’t he dry it the first time? We were rushed because of a schedule mistake that I had nothing to do with. I would have much rather came in with good service, not rushed and paid exactly what I was expecting to pay. Instead, no one ever apologized and I left in tears. I can honestly say this is the worst haircut I’ve ever had.

So I took my 12 year old daughter, to change her hair color to help lift her self esteem.. I showed the girl a picture of what we wanted and nothing like the picture. Being a single mother all I wanted to do was help my baby break out of her shell and walk more confidently but they made the situation worse her hair was light brown told them we wanted red highlights. And we got a orange tone. What makes it worse is they are asking me what to do, we went back so they could use a different toner at that point after spending more than 8 hours there my daughter just wanted to go home so I didn’t make a fuse, I m not the hair specialist if that was the case I would’ve done her hair myself $400 dollars down the drain. What is the law on that now I have to pay some one else more money to fix it. That’s just not right. First pic is what we were looking for second Pic is what we got. I could have done this at home. Big waste of money.

Very upset with the North Star location. Feeling taken advantage of on a slow day. My hair cut was totally wrong after showing Mary the 2 pictures I had. After explaining I wanted to bring out my wavy hair more to make it curlier, while I was talking to someone else, I noticed she dried most of my hair straight. I had her stop. She then dry cut my hair more. She did not cut my bangs. She did not ask how much I wanted cut off. She just started cutting. I showed my picture request at the front desk. They did nothing. They also added conditioner on my fee which I knew nothing about. The first picture is what I looked like when I left. $ 130 later and the other two photos are what I showed them before and after the cut. Added later: They said they can cut my hair more to make me happy. When it was cut in short layers and to short in the first place, this was a terrible way to make someone happy.

Horrible color service. I went in as i am not from San Antonio and i showed a picture of what i wanted to Amber the Master colorist . After all said and done my hair was a horrible color and then i had to pay extra for a blow out of which the girl GIGI could not even make it look good. Never have i been sent away dripping wet as the color will not be accurate on wet hair. However they continued to show me where to pay they knew i was upset mo apologies nothing they just asked me if i wanted them to schedule me for another appointment... yeah i think not. I paid $75 to color an inch of roots(horrible) and $25 to blow dry my hair of which it looked bad also. When i go to the salon they always do my hair so nice and i live how it looks ans feels. NOT TODAY. I do plan on calling corporate office as this is absolutely unacceptable. Especially that i asked for a master stylist

I had a great experience at VC! Sarah cut my hair and Amber colored it. I must say they did amazing! From the time I walked out of the salon up until today I've been complimented about my hair everyday . The cut was a little shorter than I wanted but my hair still came out amazing. The color was different as well but it still turned out amazing!!! Aside from it costing more than I anticipated my hair turned out great! Great job Amber and Sarah!!!!!!!!!!!! These two together are the dream team!!!!! Not to mention they're pretty awesome women as well. Definitely took a hair cut and color to another level. After walking out I feel like I gained two friends that's how comfortable they made me feel and a new woman!!!!! Oh and their manager complimenting my hair on the way out was icing on the cake! My gosh is he gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been having my hair styled here for years. They have lost really good talent and my last visit was my breaking point. I have waves and some texture to my hair. I specifically asked for someone who would be able to style my hair after my color. Color went great. When I get to the guy who was going to cut my hair I got the deer in headlights look. Once I saw that i asked if he was comfortable working on my hair, he reluctantly said yes. I had a gut feeling that this wasn't going to go well. I decided to ask for management and walked out with wet just colored hair. If you have naturally curley hair or mixed race hair do not go here or if you do talk to management when you get there to make sure your stylist knows what their doing...

Loved my stylist- Martin who is a Creatvr Director. I came from out of town and decided to go here because of the reviews. I only have four stars because of the first impression which is lasting. The ladies at the front didn't seem to enjoy their job much. Didn't smile or feel inviting. Also, I didn't realize they have many different levels of stylists, each level costing more of course. I said I needed a cut and she just said when the next available was. They need to let people know there are different pricing options even though it is on a board, I saw haircut and looked at the first price. I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford a better stylist but some people aren't, or do not want to pay more than they need to.

Love going here. Every single visit I've had for cut and or color has been great. My hair isn't the norm, so they made sure I was with someone experienced with curly mixed hair. I have not been disappointed once. Also want to mention, I got a beautiful layer cut done when my hair was long and permanently chemically straightened. I asked for Farah Fawcett and Valerie gave me Farah Fawcett, no problem. And I also did a big chop with Martin when I wanted to go back to my curls. My pixie cut I get there is so cute and always on point. They keep really good records so they know your hair history so you don't have to keep explaining what you want if you are not making any changes.

Kyle cuts my hair and he is absolutely amazing and has been helping me grow it out and my hair has been so much healthier every visit with him! All the products he recommended are truly the best and have made a huge difference in my hair. I have sent my mom, my brother my sister my husband and my friends and we all absolutely love him! His personality is just as extraordinary as his hair cutting skills. Go see Kyle and definitely recommend him to all of your loved ones they will be extremely happy and feel extremely beautiful! I get my color done with Eddie as well and he is seriously so amazing and I get so many compliments! His work is outstanding!:)

Jesse did my hair and she did a wonderful job, but I think she should be a little more professional with her speech. I did love my hair though. Update..I decided to come and take a star away because no matter what time of day or what day of the week, the stylist is NEVER on time. So if you have a deadline to meet, do not schedule with her the same day or schedule wayyy ahead of when you would like to leave. She will do great with your hair though, but An appointment is made for a reason. I am happy today because although she was 30 minutes late she made it right. My hair looks beautiful and I couldn’t be happier!

After years of bouncing around salons and stylists I finally found THE ONE! Always great service, easy to call in appointment or book online, & very professional. They took my picture and phone number so it's easy to recognize me when I arrive or call. I feel like it's "my salon". They keep notes of my hair style for next time to make for an efficient process. But the best part of VC is their stylists, specifically Kyle. He takes the time to make sure he gives me the cut I envision and makes sure I'm completely satisfied before I leave! I've never been disappointed. Will never go anywhere else again.

Val and Kyle are incredible hairstylists. My fiancé comes and sees Val every 2 weeks and every time we come in its just a great experience with her. She listens to what he wants and is really nice and patient. Kyle is also really awesome. He cuts my hair and really listens to what I want even though my haircut is very simple. He takes time to make sure that I am happy with the end result. He is also very sweet and nice. These two really make our experience at Visible Changes really great. I highly recommend these 2 hairstylists if you're looking for good customer service and good haircuts!

Excellent service every time I go! Jessica R. is friendly and engaging. I have lived in San Antonio for almost 4 years and had a difficult time finding the perfect stylist that fit my needs and listened to what I wanted. She has been cutting my hair for almost a year and I have never been happier!! I have also recently started getting my hair professionally colored and I have not regretted it! Nahum (sorry I if have misspelled) does a perfectly perfect job every time! I can go up to 7 weeks and the overall color looks just as amazing as it did on day one!

I originally went to Visible Changes @ Northstar Mall a couple of years ago. It was the worst haircut I had experience. I swore I would never go back but due to circumstances, I decided to give them a second chance. I was so surprised. I received a beautiful haircut. It was so perfect. I have only done color correction and blow outs at this location before and just had my first haircut there this past Tuesday with Martin. It was just a great experience! I communicated what I wanted and had an Instagram pictures for inspiration of course. He did an amazing job and gave me the asymmetrical lob of my dreams! Styling was exactly what I wanted and talked me though the products and how he was styling it so I could recreate it at home. Would definitely go back and highly recommend them for cut, color and blow outs!

Best place for hair in San Antonio TX. The staff and stylist exceeded my expectations. Mary is one of the best. After having one of the worst experiences with a stylist from JCP I came to Visible Changes looking for help to restore my hair. It was over processed, shedding and fragile and coming out badly. My consultation with Mary led to my hair being fully restored and no chemical treatment needed. It's amazing to see my hair now. Manageable, soft,healthy and full of body. Believe me this salon is the best in San Antonio...

Been coming here for at least 4 years never had a problem until I came in for a haircut recently in December. I checked in at the front desk and waited for over an hour. They didn't charge my haircut but I wasn't satisfied with my full bang trim. I went in today after being recommended by a friend to haircutter Evelyn. She was very nice and fixed my bang situation with no charge. I left her a tip and will continue to come back, because at the end of the day my situation was resolved. Thank you. (:

Last year I tried setting an appointment around the 8th-14th of July 2021 for a dye and cut when the girl at the desk said they were booked until the end of the month so I applied for the wait list. She said she'd give me a call when a spot is available. I waited even a month after and received absolutely no phone call. I have been going here since 2016 for dye and cut but after the pandemic died down, their service has gone downhill. As a former loyal customer, I'm very upset with their service.

Loved, loved, LOVED the whole experience. I've had my hair long for such a long time and finally got the short messy bob, I've been too chicken to get. Martin is amazing! I showed him a pic for about 5 seconds....he immediately knew what kind of look I was going for and he NAILED IT! So happy I chose this place...and so happy I got him! A great experience all the way around, went in with my mom so she could get her hair done and she loves it, it’s all that she can talk about. The stylist who did her hair was Emilie, a great people person has a great sense of energy very kind a genuine soul, also very caring and she definitely knows what she’s doing. Definitely also know where to go back to & who to go back to Emilie all the way, a heads up for any other who sets up an appointment and the best to go to.

I came here last week. Made appointments the day before and they were able to get me and my boyfriend both in at the same time which worked out perfect for us! Evelyn was AMAZING and gave me exactly what i wanted! We talked the whole time and it was overall a great experience. Gigi did my boyfriends hair and also did soo good! Mary is the best thing that ever happened to me and my hair! She’s the only stylist that I have ever encountered that can look at a picture I bring it and replicate it perfectly. She always gives me exactly what I want while giving me great conversation. I will never let anyone else cut my hair. I have send countless people her way and nobody has seen been dissatisfied. I came in and had my hair cut and styled by Melissa Ann . She is awesome ! I hadn’t had my hair cut in almost a year , it was a complete mess . She really took the time to listen to what kind of style I wanted , and did a fantastic job on my hair ! It is exactly what I wanted going into the appointment. I've been a client with Visible Changes for a few years now and my hair stylist Lawrence is amazing! He never fails to have a positive attitude and great work ethic. I have had trouble over the years finding a stylist that can work with my long curly hair, but I'm happy to say I trust Lawrence and he has a great hand. He goes above and beyond with his customer service by offering water and making sure I'm okay. He never disappoints.

I’ve been going to this location for many many years and have always loved my haircuts. I currently have my hair cut by Melissa who does a fantastic job. This morning while running errands I had a gentleman approach me and told me that I should stay with my hairstylist because my haircut was beautiful! He said he had been a professional stylist for 35 yrs and and was so complimentary of Melissa’s skill and talent.

I had an appointment scheduled for today at 10:00am. They called me yesterday to confirm the appt.. and as I'm on my way to the appointment, they call me 20 minutes before the start time to cancel. They offered no other solution other than to reschedule for another day. I realize that things happen and emergencies arise.. but come on, take some accountability for wasting a client's time too. Will not be returning.

I was there about a month ago Anisa did the worst job on my hair …..my hair is ruined for the next 8 months I specifically asked for a master stylist, and apparently they assigned me to Anisa has no clue about hair and she does whatever she wants to with your hair. She has a mean aura and It’s as if she screwed my hair up on purpose. I went and got my money back but let this be a warning don’t go there.

The stylist I had was very defensive with gentle feedback about the haircut for my kid brother. They tried to charge me $38 for a child cut because she was a level 3, which no one told me until checkout. He didn't even have a hair wash. She had a level 1 attitude and skills, and I'll never be going back to a visible changes again. Honestly, I shouldn't have even paid for the cut, let alone the tip.

Went for a color and was scheduled with Janelle. She did an amazing color and low light on me. She was super friendly and professional. She knows her stuff. I highly recommend this gal! After my color I had my hair cut short and styled by Kyle. He is very intentive to what you are asking for, and delivered it all and then some. He will be my go to hairsylist. Did a fun sassy cut and I am loving it.

From the moment I set the appointment over the phone until I walked out the door the staff spoiled me rotten. I do not remember the woman's name at the counter but she was amazingly professional and friendly. My hairdresser, Moe was wonderfully nice, fun and did an amazing job on my hair. Came in for a small hair cut and the 2 girls who were standing at the front desk chatting away straight up told me no cause they only had 1 hair cut person in. Bruh I looked around and there wasn’t even anyone in there. Screams lazy if you ask me. I set up an appointment just to waste their time like they did with me. Like what yall need the whole crew to cut 2 damn inches off my hair?

Kyle is the best! Not only has he been cutting my hair for years, but also, my 4 year old daughter. Kyle is great with her. He always makes sure she is comfortable. He makes our hair cuts fun and enjoyable. Whether it is a trim, major hair cut, braids, or styling he does an amazing job. We are very blessed to have him as our beauty specialist. We always leave him feeling beautiful ;)

Went to Visible Changes to get my 11 year old sons hair cut and Veronica was our stylist. I was a bit nervous but she is hands down our stylist from here on out she did an OUTSTANDING job on evening and layering out his hair. I told her how I wanted it and she straight killed it. Thank you so so much he looks amazing. 10/10 recommend! And best $36 I’ve ever spent!

Couldnt schedule an appointment online because the appointment maker was only for returning guest. No one answered my call so i drove down there to be told told I can wait 3 hours for a master stylist and it would be $80.09 for a trim or wait for the next day to make an appointment for someone who is lower level experienced for a less costly haircut.

I love this place and all of the employees. Everyone is so nice here and knows what they are doing. Janelle is my favorite stylist for hair dye. She got the color of red i always wanted just right! And Mary does an awesome job styling hair. I could never get my hair to curl since its so straight and she managed to do it! The curls held up all day!

Been coming here for 15 yrs. Love that you can pick a level on what years of experience in a hairstylist and the training they do on top of a normal hairdresser license! The private salons give you what they have for a high price on any one even if they been doing hair for a year. Love it here!!!! Love how Melissa Ann does my hair!!! ♥️

Arrived early for my 540pm appt. It’s now 620 and hadn’t been called. Asked to reschedule because I have places to be and was offered times counter intuitive to someone who schedules a 540pm appt. No accommodations made to someone who waited almost an hour for their appointment. They’ve gone downhill and I’ve been coming here 13+ years

I have been coming to this salon for six years for blow outs, cuts, and color. The service is on point and they have a wide range of stylist levels so you can find someone within your budget. I have recommended this place to all my family and friends and all of us have been extremely happy. Ask for Veronica for a great haircut!

Arrived with my daughter to get highlights in her hair. Even with it not being busy at all, not one of the staff members (there were 3) looked up to greet or say “be with you in a minute” very unprofessional. Went somewhere else where I gave them the money they deserved for a well done job! Shame on you Visible Changes

Got my long needed haircut with Gigi and she was very good to my head. She took her time to do it right but was also pretty fast. I loved that she could tell how I like to wear my hair and was able to use styling products after my cut that left my hair in soft natural waves. I would definitely go back to her again.

I definitely enjoyed my visit. Had talked to 3 different wonderful women about going to cosmetology school and their opinions helped so much! They listened to how I wanted my hair and even helped me changed up my mind to a different style that I'm IN LOVE with. Definitely recommend this place! Will be coming back

Got my hair done for my wedding here and it came out great! I was trying to find a hair/makeup artist but everyone was booked the weekend I needed. I was a bit skeptical bc it's so much cheaper in comparison to the other places that do hair for weddings. The stylist was awesome!

Took my daughter here for a cut, The guy that cut her hair was the coolest ever, eyelashes on fleek, did an amazing wolf cut on her && even gave her like a sweet little pep talk for slaying 6th grade! Awesome experience (: I wish I got his name because he was the best.

A little pricy, I paid about $100 not including tips. However, the service was excellent and worth every penny. My hair started coming in curly, so Evelyn helped save my haircut and helped me know how to style and maintain my hair so it's not frizzy. So helpful!
