I was arrested in Fulton County, charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute, Tampering with Evidence and Improper Lane Change and spent two days in County where I was treated like a worthless dirt bag. The cops and the judicial system didn’t care about me in any way. I felt like all they wanted was to keep me locked up, feed me the cheapest food and only give me water when it was convenient. Dogs in kennel are given better treatment and I knew the only thing the system cared about was to keep me behind bars because the more prisoners behind bars the more money for them. In their eyes I wasn’t innocent till proven guilty, I was guilty and treated like an animal. I was gonna spend a whole lot of time behind bars if I tried to fight the system alone. As soon as I contacted the offices of Scott Smith I felt like I was finally able to breathe. They spoke to me with respect and listened to my side of the story. Suddenly, I felt like I had rights again and right away I was given a plan of action and resources to help me deal with my situation. Every time I had a question, Caitlin who handles the front desk, responded quickly and kindly. On the day of my arraignment I watched as person after person was treated like a chore by the guards, the DA, the entire court. The day looked grim watching so many peoples’ futures being carelessly handled without respect for the person. The court called for recess, while I waited outside, stressing. At that point Casey came to me with a smile and said, “You ready for some good news?” I hesitated because no one in that court room had been given good news all day. So he rephrased, “You ready for some really good news?” Without me having to say a word, Casey was able to get me into a 13 week program that involved one class a week and 40 hours community service! All charges dropped!!!! Without a good attorney, I am certain I’d be behind bars for a long time. I want to thank Scott Smith, Casey Cleaver and everyone at Peach State Lawyers for going to battle for me. They gave me my rights, my freedom but most importantly, they gave me my dignity back. Casey is on the Case Dealing with legal problems will always be a headache no matter what. It can be a constant emotional roller coaster with or without an attorney. He even pointed me in the right direction to get my community service and risk reduction course done before my court date. Make no mistake, there is work you must do as a client, you made your mistakes and must handle them, but with Peach State, you are not alone. When I called around in search of an attorney, most wanted full upfront payment, which is not an easy thing. Peach State kindly allows you to make monthly payments, and when you’re done, they have your back through it all. By the end, I would like to think Casey became a friend! Dare I say I enjoyed my time taking with him. Every-time I called in, I felt heard, and supported, and NOT ONCE judged. I paid my retainers fee and after that I never got a call or a response from this law office. Not from the clerk, not from the lawyer, I never even knew who my official lawyer was until I called after I got my letter of non representation from this firm. They took the fee from me and I never went to court with them or not even got reached out to by anyone at this office other than for a payment. They told me that they were working behind the scenes on my case but they don’t even have my correct name on the letter they sent. It has my brothers name and they blamed it on the court house, but they’ve been working behind the scene on my case right ? The young lady working in finance is very well trained to con you for money because she was trying to explain my contract agreement to me but it also says in the contract that the down payment is a retainers fee. I retained my lawyer but no representation has been shown ! Not a phone call, a text message, a email, it wasn’t even a stagecoach to park outside my house to bring me a telegram. She also hung up in my face because I asked her to spell my so called “lawyers” name. No one has represented me in any type of court from this firm. No one has spoken to me about my case from this firm. Only thing I’ve been contacted for is MONEY with no representation or no sense of urgency or concern on my case. I expected so much more from this firm and they took my money and let me down. Thanks for nothing !

Unfortunately I am unable to give a positive review of Scott Smith's office. I was referred to him by a friend for a simple DUI case. My experience summed up: After being personally assured from Scott himself that I would be in good hands, my case was passed from person to person and kicked down to what seemed to be the bottom of the totem pole (to an associate named Casey) who not only failed to file my paperwork on time but failed to appear to all court dates after advising me that my presence was not necessary. After several attempts to contact via email, text, voice calls, voice mails, physical appearance- my license was temporarily suspended (I was unaware of this until being pulled over for a 5 day late expired tag and then arrested for driving with a suspended license). Scott's office did acknowledge their negligence but proceeded to show the same lackadaisical effort as before, resulting in the hard suspension of my license and my request for a refund. If it were possible to give a 0 star review- I would.

Mr. Cleaver, Was assigned to my case and despite being under the weather he managed my case like a seasoned veteran with the utmost prudence ensuring no red flags were raised. He did his due diligence and continues to go far and beyond for me. A true asset to Scott Smith's firm, I can't think of anyone better to handle my case. If he doesn't have a solution right away he researches until he can win an amecable solution thus keeping the court in his favor. Thanks so much to him and Scott's firm. My family and I are extremely thankful for Scott. I spoke with several attorneys prior to actually retaining Scott and all of them agreed that I had got in trouble in the worst county in Georgia, Cherokee county.
