My visit to the W.E.B. Du Bois Memorial Centre revealed the profound history of this iconic figure. While the site carries immense cultural weight, it's apparent that time has taken a toll. The mausoleum and museum, though rich in historical significance, could benefit from much-needed upgrades. The overall ambience felt somewhat neglected, signalling the need for refurbishment. Despite this, the dedication of the staff to preserving Du Bois's legacy is commendable. In essence, the W.E.B. Du Bois Memorial Centre serves as a vital historical landmark, but attention to refurbishment would undoubtedly enhance the visitor experience. Here's to the hope that future efforts prioritize the restoration of this cultural treasure.

I accept what the curators of Dr. DuBois has done thus far in maintaining his home as a public display. Yet, I am elated that they are in a capital improvement phase to build a more appropriate facility to house, display and share with the world the live and contributions of this unique human being. There thee volumes of Dr. DuBois final writing that are displayed in a showcase with no way for we who desire to read them to do so. There is future plans to digitize the volumes, but still I ache because of our inability to access today what this great thinker may have pinned during his final year. Thus, I ask you who are lovers of knowledge to add their capital improvement endeavors to your list of organizations to support.

So I actually only had about 5 minutes to get through this museum- literally - and it was just enough time to wall through everything. I do wish I had more time to take it all in, but I refused to leave Ghana without visiting WEB DuBois' home. The team understood my request and accommodated my schedule to do so. My favorite part of the entire home was his library. To say the least, as small as the room was, his collection of books was massive- super inspiring. I absolutely loved experiencing and am grateful for even those 5 minutes.

This museum and center is small but impactful. The knowledgeable guides share personal stories about W.E.B. DuBois and his family. His original books and some of his artifacts are on on display and the story of his commitment to a united and free Africa is told. I was moved by the sanctuary that contains his remains. This place should be on the top of lists to see in Accra.

Love this place for the Saturday markets. There's so much stuff there and very great prices too. It's the first and third Saturday of the month that there are events happening there. There's a lot of stuff particularly artworks, paintings, musical instruments, clothing, food, Shea butter, soaps, interior decor and African fashion

We had amazing garden wedding, the environment was beautiful in a very good Cantonments location close to The United States of America Embassy. There also cool priced hotel rooms. Specious and secured car park, accessibility was easy. The lands scape and the walk way were well kept. You have opportunity to know and to read about great Africans.

Despite the centre being quite run-down, I really enjoyed the tour of the house, the knowledge of the guide and the PanAfrican history expressed. Also very solemn that such optimism and aspiration seems to have evaporated into cynicism over the past 50 years. Also adjacent to the great Roots restaurant.

Don’t expect fancy or modern displays here. Instead, expect both a great opportunity to learn and a chance to briefly walk on the same site where a legendary man walked. Worth your time and attention.

The place was not even open by the designated time. There was no one available to answer queries and for a place that is a homage to the Pan African movement, the visit was a waste and disappointing. I waited for an hour and just came back to my hotel!

The center is thoughtful and takes you through the connection of West Africa and African Americans. I've been here three times and the guides do a great job

The center is always neat but could stand some renovating now. Several if the artists shops were open and an event was being held at the AAAG hdqts. It appeared that a large event was going to take place in the convention center bldg.

Attended a pop up event with lots of local vendors selling artifacts, herbs and plants, etc. It was a very diverse group and enjoyed my trip there. The site is a also a must see in Accra for culture and history.

We learned so much here. I didn't realize W.E.B Dubois and his wife lived in Ghana and that it's their final resting place.

WEB Du Bois Centre is historically relevant and fit for purpose. Students of history, especially the history of black emancipation, will find plenty food for thought when they visit this place.

The guide was very good and provided a good perspective of the information from the Ghanaian perspective which helped put things together and filled in gaps of information I was not aware of.

I'm glad that fellow Fisk Alumnus, WEB Dubois is being honored in Accra. The space is a great history lesson & a testament to what he's done for Black people across the globe! #FiskForever

I've been to the craft market here at least twice. It's well worth the time. Lots of things to look at and buy. Vendors are helpful and friendly. Great place for one-stop shopping.

The museum provides Good information on the life of DuBois. They also have a great halls for events. The closet landmark is the United States Embassy in Cantonments, Accra.

This was a great intro to how many African Americans and Africans pioneered PanAfricanism. The tour staff were super informative.

As a student of DuBois’s life, I was very moved by seeing his final resting place and his home the final two years of his life.
