A volunteer run museum set up in the former Wacol Army huts with a significant display exhibition with an emphasis on Australians in the Pacific in WWII. It is well presented but unsure when it is open the public? Best to check. The relics both allied and enemy are property secured. They hold a "portable" coastwatcher radio which is possibly unique in non government museums. Went thete when they had a Saturday coastwatcher speaker which was well attended with about 170. It should get more publicity and ideal for groups provided it could be prearranged. A hidden jem in the Brisbane military museum circuit.
Firstly Google have got "temporary closed" information wrong. The museum is open to the public first Saturday of every month from 10 am to 1 pm. Australia's military involvement during the second world War, especially in the New Guinea theatre. Records, stories, photos, bring back war trophies donated, relics found on the battle field. Highly recommend visit, interesting & educational. Paul & the crew are are great bunch of guys. Thankyou.
What an experience, so many stories so much knowledge. Thank you for an awesome day
