Due to health related issues, I've decided to place an order online from this location with Uber eats. What an awful experience. First, the offer on Uber eats was 1/2 price for fruits and vegetables, which ended up being full price. Secondly, in the app you have the option of "best substitution" if a product is not found or unavailable. I've had mangoes replaced with red onions ( yes, RED ONIONS ) which I think are not even in the same family but if they are, they don't talk to each other. Green grapes replaced with lime ( let's say they're both fruits and green). Refused all the substitutions. Next, I had 3 bags of tenderstem broccoli which were replaced with green beans. I definitely did not want those, as I'm not a fan of green beans. Ended up with those in my shopping anyway. I was not even notified about that. When I order something, I'm more than aware that is exactly what I want, especially now when I have to eat healthy stuff. They probably saw I was rejecting all the substitutions in the Uber app and decided to stop asking me for my opinion ( who do I think I am, after all?). Did Waitrose become automated and is there a little robot that didn't have its software updated doing the personal shopping? Is there a lack of interest in coming and doing a job properly? I can understand an honest mistake, we're all human beings. But this felt like a bad case of "can't be bothered, mate". "WELCOME to WAITROSE Here, we're more than employees – we're OWNERS. That's why we're called PARTNERS. And that's why we all go ABOVE and BEYOND to share our KNOWLEDGE and PASSION for QUALITY FOOD with people who matter most – YOU, our customers. Because for us IT'S PERSONAL." It sure felt personal, Waitrose.
Surprisingly poor customer service and very little commercial sense. Utter disappointment. I wanted to buy a Madeira Sercial for a coronation dinner, but seeing the 25% discount offer for 6 or more bottles, I decided to do a retro coronation food and wine pairing including some historically interesting wine, adding a few favourites as well to make it six. I am easily convinced into buying more wine. My list was simple: - Franz Reh & Sohn Liebfraumilch: £4.99 - H&H 10 Year Old Sercial Madeira: £20.99 - Mateus Rose: £6.49 - Porta 6: £7.50 - Johann Wolf Pinot Noir: £9.99 - Laurent Miquel Nocturnes Viognier: £9.99 When you check online on Waitrose Cellar, it totals at £44.95 (£59.95 minus £15.00 discount). The Liebfraumilch had no further discount, but it is perfectly fine. Once all scanned at the till, there was no sign of discount on the total. I was advised that wines must be at least £5 'as advertised' (somewhere, but it was not obvious in-store at all!) and I must replace the Liebfraumilch for any discount. I protested that I should get the discount on all the other wines, but the second manager told me that 'discount cannot be added manually and the system doesn't allow'. So I decided to leave the wines there and bought only the madeira, as planned. They let a bigger sale fall through on 1 pence. I wouldn't call it commercially wise. Not including the disappointed consumer. I have great respect for the wine buying team at Waitrose, but all their good work is to no avail if they are let down by the retail team.
Unacceptable service! And the customer mannerisms and explanations provided by Mr Kharul and Mrs Maya were at least disappointed! We tried the scan check out and at the end we were stopped for sample check . The machine for the sample check went down 3 times , they got us to the cashier . The final bill was the same as the self scan machine (182,75) and not one apology or explanation on why we went through all this inconvenience and kept us waited for so long ( causing stress and fatigue while pregnant ) . Waitrose service you could do much better with both regarding technology and the customer service. Or at least remove the self scan check option if you can’t manage it!!!!
This store represents why so many have deserted the brand. There are never enough team members to help, yet you pay a premium for a shopping experience akin to a low cost retailer. Whilst you have to scan and bag all your items (whilst being recorded against your will), there is only one overwhelmed member to help with processing problems, whose attitude is “guilty until proven innocent” with the delights of the self scanner. Easier to go to a lower priced retailer now, like Lidl, and then just “top up” at this store only if you really need to. Waitrose has lost its way.
Went to look at the plants placed at the entrance Nerdy member of staff with glasses suddenly apeared gave me funny look and said "can i help you? " I replied no im fine just looking He proceeded to keep giving me a funny look and followed me saying do i need assistance making me feel uncomfortablle . I said are you going to follow me around the store ..he looked me up and down and still followed me so left after saying do i look like a tramp or something ... Strange rude behaviour .. Never again will i come in here
The service my partner and I received here just before 19:30 yesterday was exceptional! We went to a till instead of self check out and the lovely staff member was so friendly. I didn’t pay, so I don’t have the staff member’s name, but a female and was at the smaller tills; closer to the magazines. Thank you so much to her! As was the gentleman whom was managing the baskets and trolleys. All staff (but one whom I rarely see) here are so friendly and kind. I want to say a massive thank you.
Was my favorite Waitrose until the girl working at the self checkouts had an attitude and accused me of rubbing my id becuase she touched it (discrimination ) . She voided my transaction on accident and had no ownership and walked away. I hope to speak to management on this
It’s gone downhill and not worth the premium price they ask. Opened sausage package on the shelves. Most of the self service checkouts don’t work most times. Odd shelf product placements. Most fresh produce that I purchase have at least one
Usually it is fine. But it is a typical John Lewis/Waitrose shop, price tag is always wrong, missing and manager doesn't seem to care. Under Corona, it is very unclear if they control the crowd as it seems no staff count the number. It is
Incredible Waitrose branch. Staff are always very friendly, layout is great (although this has often been a controversial topic amongst locals) and the sushi counter is awesome (especially when they're giving out free samples). A joy to
Poorly managed store. Staff treat customers as an inconvenience and can be quite surly and rude. Living off past reputation, needs new management and staff to be sent on retraining courses to remember what good customer service means.
Usually quite tucked awsy in the shopping centre, they are a little low most of the time on fresh produce, but on certain days like Friday your spoilt for choice.
Self checked out a fews days ago, saw some POS machines is in trouble. After payment and no receipts provided, staff said need to paid again due to
Has happened that muffins or bread goes green before due by date but otherwise a relatively good Waitrose.
Nice store, with a bit of a new layout at the checkout. Sometimes a bit too crowded though if in a hurry.
Slow service and poor customer service. Ignoring customers isn’t what you would expect
You have not got anything, very bad,I could Hadley see as most of the lights were off.
Great supermarket. Nice meat and cheese counters.
A bit small in size but has good service
