Walgreens at this location needs to be more organized in accepting Walk-ins pertaining to COVID-19 vaccines. I had stopped in at another Walgreen located at Huebner Road and 1604. Unfortunately, they were out of the Pfizer Vaccine and informed me that this location had it in stock, and provided me with the forms necessary for the third vaccine for which I qualified. Arriving before 2:30 PM, the pharmacy technician stated that I could wait as they were providing the vaccine to walk-ins at 3:00 PM and to have a seat. One group of ladies had been waiting since 1:00 PM. Thereafter several individuals arrived after us and stood in line. The other ladies and I waited seated as we could not stand for long periods. The technician took other individuals information, insurance information, and IDs. I approached the window to ask if she needed my ID and information. She curtly told me that I needed to go stand in line and explained that I could not stand for long durations and reminded her of my time of arrival, and that she stated that I could wait seated. Walk-ins that had arrived after me and the other ladies waiting were overlooked, while an much younger couple were processed and called to be vaccinated. I approached the tech one again, who said they would check my paperwork at another window along with ID and insurance. It was now going on 4PM. Being a pharmacist, I understand that things can get hectic, but this was very disorganized and disappointing. This is a corporate management issue, as they can solve this issue by simply having a sign up list at the counter which ask for the individual’s name (print) and time of arrival. This way the walk up individual are processed chronological in the time of their arrival. Needless to say, I walked out after having waited for 1 1/2 hours. Things were so bad that other customers brought this to the attention of the store manage that we had been waiting before them. Only then, did they place someone else at the drop off and pick up window. The manager did not apologize nor did the Pharmcist In Charge to us. They did not place the ladies or I in the proper order of being next, but only after others. Solution, I made an an appointment at an H.E.B Pharmacy.
This pharmacy was very helpful when my doctor's office kept giving me the run around. Great customer service. Thank you.
