"PSA: If you need ADHD medication filled, avoid Walgreens like the plague! So I've been prescribed adderral most of my life and in Florida, it's EXTREMELY difficult to find a pharmacy that stocks it and for months, I had to literally visit about a dozen pharmacies checking one by one to see if they can fill it and more often than not, this was a 2 day hunt"
"It isn't very often that you have someone help you when you're having difficulty with finding a prescription or anything for that matter that someone goes above and beyond and I must say I had to take the time out to say that Rose in the pharmacy, at this location went above and beyond to help me and I will forever be grateful the epitome of the best customer service! Thank you Walgreens for your excellent customer service and hiring wonderful employees like rose and the others! Gratefully, Jennifer"

PSA: If you need ADHD medication filled, avoid Walgreens like the plague! So I've been prescribed adderral most of my life and in Florida, it's EXTREMELY difficult to find a pharmacy that stocks it and for months, I had to literally visit about a dozen pharmacies checking one by one to see if they can fill it and more often than not, this was a 2 day hunt. Florida law forbids pharmacies from disclosing stock over phone and they can't check other pharmacies for you even in store. That being said, I used to begin my search at this Walgreens because it's half a mile from my house. Last time I visited, first they tried to tell me adderral is a controlled substance, and therefore in FL at least, you have to have a dedicated pharmacy and have scripts electronically sent by the doctor. WRONG! That's a preferred policy but not practical or realistic since most stores don't stock it, they refuse to check other pharmacies, and transferring the electronic script is a headache. Therefore, my doctor approved paper scripts. They tried to deny me with that reasoning before I educated them on their own job. THEN they told me I was too early and had to come a maximum of 24 hrs before the last day that was filled. Now that may be the Walgreens policy, but that is NOT the law as it pertains to Florida State!!!! It gets worse. They altered my script by writing DNF (do not fill) before the date their policy allows. So now I had no guarantee they could fill it, I would have to wait to resume my search until the day I run out due to their unauthorized alteration to my script, and I indeed ran out because I could not find it and I have a full time job and life. I can't drive around 6 hrs a day. I brought this to the pharmacists attention and she not only acted indifferent, she just kept on repeating the Walgreens policy, despite the law statute completely invalidating her logic and reasoning. Never again. Do yourself a favor, use Walgreens only as a last resort. Their policy doesn't even make sense. No other pharmacy has that policy and none of them are being sued, arrested, or in danger of going out of business for following the law. Rant over.
