I'm going to come back and change my rating if the situation is resolved fairly and amicably. I was wrongly (and nonsensically) accused of "doctor/pharmacy shopping" simply because another Walgreens I normally go to didn't have one of my medications in stock, and the pharmacist there kindly offered to call the Indian School and Tramway location to see if they had the medication. They did, so I made the call to my provider in another city and asked that the prescription be sent to the Indian School and Tramway store. I live elsewhere but have been primarily staying in Albuquerque since late January due to a family emergency which ended with my father passing away recently. It is not rocket science to figure out that people still need their regular medications when they are not at home. I went in to pick up the medication the next day, and the female pharmacist (who shall remain nameless, for now) came to the counter to inform me that I would be having difficulty getting my medications in the future because I had been flagged. Because it looked like I was "pharmacy shopping". I can't really see what the personal reward in my having to go into two different pharmacy locations to get my medications would be, as it seems to me there's absolutely nothing to be gained by such an action. It's rather annoying, in fact, but I understand that things sometimes do not happen the way we would like. However, what was this person thinking, flagging me? She was aware that I don't live here and that another Walgreens pharmacy called her store to see if the medication could be filled there. If this woman had any kind of a problem filling a prescription for me, she should have simply told me she would rather not do it and allowed me to make other arrangements. Instead, she made a rather unintelligent deduction given the situation, and decided to make life harder for me. She also informed me that I had "too many providers" and take "too many medications". Umm, ok. Given that she doesn't know me at all, and has no idea what my health issues are, I fail to see how she could make such a judgment. It was also inappropriate to speak to a customer this way. She further informed me that she wouldn't fill a prescription for me in the future. No problem! I'd rather eat dog food than ever go into that particular store again. There is little excuse for her discriminatory actions. And I will not tolerate it. People must be their own advocates in these trying times. It is unfortunate that there are always those who will choose to "play God" if given the opportunity. Heads up, Walgreens. I've been a loyal customer for over 25 years, but if this situation isn't quickly and fairly dealt with to my satisfaction, next week, I will be making complaints and filing grievances. I'm secretly hoping for a more amicable and positive outcome. Misunderstandings happen, and can only be solved by people willing to listen to one another. We will see. UPDATE: Even though my one experience with this pharmacy doesn't merit 5 stars, the response I received when I asked for help resolving the issue does merit 5 stars. After going in person to the offices of the NM Board of Pharmacy, and speaking with a very sincere and knowledgeable manager there, I later heard from a Healthcare Supervisor with Walgreens Regional Office (I believe). These two gentlemen not only did their jobs, but they did them with expertise and sincerity, and I couldn't be more grateful. Can't think of any other way to say thank you without publicly posting their names, so I changed the star rating. They deserve better, like maybe promotions and raises, lol. Rather than reacting in a blasé manner, either blowing me off or passing the buck, they both did the right thing. The issue was resolved as far as I know. I'm hoping the actions taken will lower the odds of this happening to customers at that pharmacy. I left my original long review simply because there may be some value in that if somebody else has the same issue. Advocate for yourselves; seek out those who can help.
Lady brings in an american pit bull, no signs, nothing about it being a service animal. The dog has this giant chocker with the pins that stick into the dogs flesh when pulled. At the front desk dog goes off and pulls tight at another customer barking. Cashier does nothing but allows this animal who is being held by a frail 75lb old woman to be aggressive and at 6'5 275lbs this scared me, that lady should of been asked to immediately leave for the safety of all customers in the store. When I asked the cashier why she didnt ask them to leave she just shrugged like its not my job. Do better wal greens, this is unacceptable. Edit: Second pharmacy Ive used in Albuquerque. These pharmacies have twice the workers for half the density of population of where I used to live yet both times they have had lines of more than half an aisle long. It doesnt makes sense how with half the population and twice the number of employees that it ends up like this. Again, do better wal greens.
I've been shopping at the Tramway Indian School location since Walgreens was first built where CVS is now. So it has to be going on over 30 years now. I went in to get batteries and they were locked up. So I asked the assistant manager to get me batteries. There were two packages of batteries side by side. One was on sale the other wasn't. I asked for the one on sale while she unlocking the one not on sale. She sighed loudly, sounding exasperated ,threw her hands up in air and very impatiently unlocked the batteries I had asked for in the first place. She had a full fledged tantrum. I don't appreciate being treated that way by an assistant manger no less. Walgreens get your employees training especially your asst mgrs and teach them to respect your elderly. With that location elderly folk will become your biggest demographics. Show some respect or I'm heading to CVS.
I transferred a prescription away from this Walgreens to a small neighborhood pharmacy. However, Walgreens continues to contact my provider to refill this prescription that is NO LONGER THEIRS. This seriously screws with both my provider’s office and my insurance. The wait at this Walgreens is always horrendous, but the last straw for me was when they began filling my prescription in bulk from an offsite plant. Now my Rx comes in a huge bottle that is unnecessary and doesn’t store well. Today I’ve just tried five times to call them and have been automatically hung up on every time. If you enjoy poor customer service, then this is the place for you! But if you prefer to have a personal relationship with your pharmacy staff, then I highly recommend the Albertsons Neighborhood Pharmacy nearby, on Candelaria and Juan Tabo. They are terrific!
I came in 9-30-21 at 11:00am. I recently had a baby so I went in for some cooling spray. On the website the item is $7.99, in store its twice as much. I know for a fact walgreens price matches with their online store, it even says so on their website, "Upon request, Walgreens stores will price match to Walgreens.com regular price." The manager refused to price match saying they have never price matched at this store. The young lady cashing me out, even had out a pamphlet that had the same price as the online store and still she refused to price match. The manager at the time is blonde, I did not get her name. I have price matched at this store before so being told they don't makes me believe she did not want to put in the effort to price match.
I will never use this pharmacy again. I was told my daughter's prescription would be ready within 15 minutes and to come pick it up. When I got there and they said it was not ready and to come back in an hour. I came back an hour and a half later, it was still not ready. They said to call in an hour to check if it was ready. I called and they still did not have it done. Long story short, it took them 6 and 1/2 hours to fill a simple prescription for an antibiotic. In the time it took them to fill it, my daughter could have had her first 2 doses. Needless to say, they had one upset mama bear on their hands. Oh, and it took them less than three minutes to fill it once I told the manager what was going on.
The pharmacy's location is very convenient and well stocked in the non-pharmacy section. I'll agree with others that the pharmacy is chronically understaffed. To avoid frustrating wait lines during peak hours (5-6 is particularly busy), I try to go as soon as they open or late at night and I have had not issues with service time then. Like other reviewers, I've had times when my meds are not available. In one instance it was (and remains) a national shortage situation. They worked with me and my doctor to get a different version. In another instance it was my insurance and the pharmacy failed to communicate the issues, but when I called to ask about they delays, they were quick and helpful.
I usually have pretty uneventful experiences here, but today I was treated very unprofessionally by one of their long term employees. She rung up my items, and I must've waited two seconds for the card reader to display that it was ready for me to insert my card, when she said in a very patronizing (not teasing) tone, "You can put your card in any time. It won't bark (yes, bark) or yell at you!" I was so dumbfounded, I just laughed uncomfortably. And then before the reader signaled it was finished, she spat, "It's done! Take your card!" It almost sounds unreal, but yeah.... that happened. I get that everyone has bad days, but her attitude was a bit over the top.
I went to this store today to get a photo for a pass port taken. I was greeted nicely by the person at the front cash register & she directed me to the photo department. I waited several minutes for the man to acknowledge me. He took my picture and said it would take a couple minutes to print the photos. 20 and 30 minutes later he said he was still waiting for the computer to print the photos. 1 hour, still no photo so I left. Do Not use Walgreens for a pass port photo. It may be 3 dollars more but go to FED EX. I walked into the store on Juan Tabo near Menaul from time I entered to exit with my photos was less than 5 minutes. They were friendly and helpful.
The pharmacy here is horrible took me three hours to get the correct medication I needed! I had surgery and was sent home with 4 scripts one antibiotic, one pain med, and a Tylenol and ibuprofen but who needs those when you can buy them cheaper in the store over the counter. The pharmacist is not to smart when I asked for just the pain med and antibiotic they filled only the pain med and ibuprofen the first time when I realized it and went back they took way longer than said they would and double filled the ibuprofen and filled the Tylenol too which at no point did I ask for those to be filled and they filled the ibuprofen twice with only one script for it.
This is the worse Walgreens in town. They are never open on time, the staff basically ignores customers in line to receive their prescriptions, and they are extremely unorganized. Today, I waited 35 minutes to pick up a prescription, and I counted a total of 16 people in line before I was called to the window. The drive through is worse. If I see only one car in the drive through, I usually go inside in the hope that I will get helped in less than 15 minutes. I use other pharmacies in the area, and none of them are like this, and I won’t even go through the details of how often my prescriptions are messed up. As of today, I am done with them.
I have never had a pharmacy with this many delays. I come every month and it takes an hour to get through the line then 15-30 minutes waiting. Then it normally doesn’t go through and I have to return the next day or possibly miss a day of prescription. You get a different story every time and no one cares about customer service. They always apologize every time but it happens again the next time. I am so laid back but this is getting old and I will switch to someone else but hopefully someone reads this and decides to change something. It’s every month since November of 2021 I have to waste 2 hours a month.
I unfortunately have to use Walgreens due to my new insurance. I previously used Costco and CVS. I have never had any issues. I have now called this Walgreens 3 times, spoken to 7 different people to get my prescriptions transferred. It seems to be a monumental task for them. In the past when I’ve changed pharmacies it takes one call and my scripts are ready at the new pharmacy in an hour. Not here, they will make you work for it. Horrible experience. If your insurance allows you to use a different pharmacy I highly recommend it.
I’m giving them one star because I can’t give zero. I called begging for help with the prescription and after being dropped three times. I was intentionally put on hold and constantly had technicians picking up to put me back on hold to torment me. I’m not being dramatic. I could hear them picking up, whispering about me, and then putting me back on hold. It’s devastating when you truly need support and can’t leave your house because you are ill and people won’t even talk to you on the phone. Literally go anywhere else!
I called two different times today to clear up a problem with Walgreens not refilling a prescription for me. My doctor was contacted and Walgreens told to refill my prescription. The first call I was on hold for approximately 20 minutes when the phone rang back to them. No one answered. The second time I called I was put on hold for 45 minutes before someone answered. I've had problems with Walgreens for about a month. I'm about to change to another pharmacy. I've been with Walgreens for a long time.
This is the worst Walgreens I have ever been in! The staff was very discourteus and very rude to me! I brought an item to the cashier for purchase and because the item was not properly priced I was treated like a fool. I can't help but feel that the employee that "assisted" me acted rudely to me because of the color of my skin as I observed the same employee being courteous and kind to white customers. I have never felt so humiliated in my life and I will never go back to this store again!
TO BUSY TO CARE I have faithfully done business here since it opened many years ago. However, that is ending. They are too busy to care. The pharmacy is too busy to answer the phone. Even though I had an appointment, I waited 2 hours for a covid booster shot. When my husband needed insulin, a necessary and life saving drug, the pharmacy closed early because they were short staffed. The next day they did not have insulin. We waited 4 days and then went somewhere else. You should too.
This has got to be the worst Pharmacy I have ever dealt with,My scripts are never filled when they are due and no one answers when I call.I was on hold the first time 20 mins and was hung up on,called back and I am now the 3rd caller when I was the second caller the first time. They are very slow and walk around like they are confused, the lines are always long wait time takes forever even in the Pharmacy store line.Get it together people are very upset it is not just me.
HORRIBLE SERVICE between the hours of 2:30-3:30pm! Younger, skinny Hispanic girl treated my wife and I like we had a disease and gave us the worst attitude I've seen in a while! Would absolutely love to speak to her manager about this! We were working Instacart orders and asked her about some cough meds etc that our customer needed. She stood there arguing with me, literally just talking S*** because I asked her TO DO HER JOB!! Def needs an old school a**********!
This particular walgreens it seems, may have staffing issues. It's a regular occurrence to have only one cashier and if they are away helping a customer you will wait and wait. I've been there and waited up to a few minutes looking around for a cashier. The pharmacy is short staffed at times and will close early because of it. Overall they don't seem to practice very good chrome service. On a positive note the staff are always upbeat and friendly.
Made online for appt for vaccinations. 20 minutes past my appt time. Inquired and staff as very rude even tho 4 people waiting and they said it was not an issue. What is the point of appt when my time is not respected? The nurse doing the vaccinations appeared to only be able to do one client and then had to perform other duties such as cleaning up boxes. WTH?!?! Dreadful customer service. I’ll seek another provider in the future.
Multiple problems: Failure to notify prescription is ready while waiting, calls to my home saying that my prescription was ready when it was not (It is a 50 mile round trip for me to pharmacy), failure to tell me that they were waiting for Dr.'s approval while in the store for almost an hour, telling me they needed Dr.'s approval when they did not, failing to contact the right doctor for medications, etc.
Listen, I have been a CVS shopper for years. I only go to Walgreens for occasional needs. Today I was helped by the lovely Patricia. Her customer service philosophy and bubbly personality will convert me to this store from now on. I wish everyone, including myself, had a little more "Patricia" in them during this chaotic year. I knew I had to come home and write this review asap.
I certainly wish the customer service was better. Waited for 10 minutes for service on our photos. Finally went to cashier and he directed us back to wait by photo's, the older male manager finally gets there and shows us our photos but wont ring us up and directs us to go wait back in line at thce cashier to check out .But on the other hand, great sale on shirts!
Went there today and one of the employees who opened the locked box for me was RUDE. She was a Caucasian woman in cosmetic area wearing black outfits. She was also rude to her co-worker. I know this store would not care about these 1 star reviews. I usually have good experience at this store but that woman ruined the reputation. Bye I'm going to CVS next door :)
Their drive-up is closed 50% of the time and they are always short staffed. I've been waiting in a line about 10 people deep for about half an hour - ugh! If you have to call for any reason, forget it. Overall bad service. I'm looking for another pharmacy, even if it's farther - I'll probably save time , even with a slightly longer drive.
It's awesome to have to wait for an 20 mins just to have the tech/rep pickup and disconnect (it's easy to tell). We get it you're busy. So is just about everyone else, the pandemic affected EVERYONE, but you don't see other professionals completely neglecting their customer base. Save your time and go to Walmart.
The pharmacy is really hit or miss. I think a big problem is that some of the staff really need customer service training while others do very well with the customers. Of course they are very busy, but unfortunately they often seem annoyed with customers. They do a decent job at filling prescriptions, though.
I received text and email saying my prescription was ready. After waiting half an hour in drive through line, they said they didn't have it! It was a mistake! Prescription is out of stock and won't be available for another month. You are a pharmacy, you should know if prescription is ready or not. Do better!
BOOKED TWO VACINATIONS FOR TODAY THROUGH YOUR WEBSITE WEEKS AGO, LUGGED MY WHOLE FAMILY UP HERE TO SEE A SIGN SAYING PHARMACY IS CLOSED. ABSOLUTELY MINDBLOWINGLY STUPID. NO CORRESPONDENCE FROM YOUR STORE NO NOTIFICATION TO RESCHEDULE. YAY I GET TO START THE WHOLE PROCESS ALL OVER AGAIN. WALGREENS SUCKS.
Prescriptions, with insurance, cost 3 times what they do through Blink Health, without insurance is 10 times. Merchandise is also over priced. Wait time is averaging 30 minutes in line to pick up a filled prescription. I will not be using Walgreens again. We deserve better service and better prices.
This Walgreens never answers their calls. I can't tell you how many times I have been hung up on. They can't keep insurance information straight in the computer and they never follow up on any issue of any kind. The only way to get any sort of help is to show up in person and they are very rude.
Waited for an hour in line to get my husband pain medication after having brain surgery. When we got to the front, they told us that it would be another 30 minutes. My husband was released from the hospital hours beforehand, and had not had pain medication in 5 hours. Absolutely insane.
This is the worst pharmacy I waited 16 days to get a prescription and yet they tell me it be ready tomorrow after 1:00 I don't think they have it tomorrow after 1:00 or it has not come around yet but I will never go back to that pharmacy again. I take my service to CVS …
This Walgreens is the worst I have experienced. It appears as if it is chronically understaffed. The pharmacy is almost slower than watching grass grow. It’s impossible to contact a human on the phone. I feel so bad for the employees. It looks like such a miserable location to work at.
Absolutely HORRIBLE pharmacy. Waited exactly 52 minutes JUST for the pharmacist to tell me they can’t fill a medication cause they couldn’t find our doc. 52 minutes !!! For something the Walgreens worker could have told me in the very beginning of the call before waiting.
This is the worst pharmacy I have ever had to deal with. You would think a nationwide chain would have better practice and knowledge Of the importance of getting patients RX filled and on time. The manager doesn't have a care in the world, only misplaced judgement
We usually go into this store at night, and someone's at the register to help is get in and out quickly. NOT TONIGHT.... Waited SEVENTEEN minutes for someone to get up there. He was hiding over in the greeting card area the while time.... VERY disappointing....
Woman through the drive-through this morning taking me out of turn. She became frustrated just because I asked a couple of questions about Covid tests. Then Very cheerily says have a nice day when she knows I’m obviously sick. No bedside manner.
The worst pharmacy I’ve ever dealt with. Not only do you wait in line for 10 minutes or more. I had a refill on 3 prescriptions, only refilled 2. Tried to refill the 3rd a couple weeks later and they told me I couldn’t because I already got
Probably one of the worst places ever. I went to pick up medicine, the first time they change the quantity without notifying me, then I go to pick up what I need and they said they have to check the cameras… as if I’m stealing or wanting to
Best Pharmacy Staff at the Walgreens on Indian School and Tramway who went above and beyond to give my sweet mamma, who has dementia, the covid-19 vaccine. I am extremely grateful for their kindness and understanding. Thank you so very much.
I saw another comment that said "too busy to care." Spot on comment. They take forever for each one of their 3000 people they have in line. I could see if it were once in awhile, but it's always an expedition to go pick up a prescription.
Pharmacy is SO ridiculously slow. Waiting in line for 30 minutes because 2 people are in front of me is is a sad joke when when comes to customer service. I do NOT recomend coming her for your scripts unless you have NO other choice
There is NOTHING unprofessional about the pharmacy staff. They are always polite and helpful. Perhaps if you go in with an attitude you get one back, but they have been nothing but helpful to me and my family. Wonderful place.
Highest level of incompetence here. Can’t seem to use their own computer system, can’t understand when, why or how things should be done. I’m honestly blown away at how bad this place is. Go literally anywhere else.
Horrible management. Didn’t honor formula coupons or checks and tried to double charge, claiming the first transaction didn’t go through although it immediately showed up in our online account as a pending charge.
The pharmacy is chronically understaffed. It's not unusual for them to close early( like mid day) and you can't get your prescriptions. If you need timely access to your medications this location is a poor choice.
The pharmacy is slow and unprofessional. Sat for over 30 minutes for them to tell me that tjey only had 3 of the 4 that my Dr. called in. Then blamed the doctor. Changing pharmacies! Always get the run around!
My COVID test came back negative. But came positive after 2 days from another testing center… Just to be cautious- don’t get the test if you don’t show symptoms… once symptoms start showing- is best to go test
Walgreens should really put the Pharmacy hours on Google, considering the Pharmacy hours are different then the store hours. It makes no sense that a "drug store" opens the store before the Pharmacy.
This is the best Pharmacy I've been to. Efficient, friendly and welcoming professionals in an environment where a person feels safe. Thank you Indian School at Tramway Walgreens.
Don’t go to ANY Walgreens for a vaccine. It will take you 30 minutes. You will redo paperwork. Staff is rude and cold. Go to Target. Nicer staff. In and out in 10 minutes.
The pharmacy has odd hours and is usually closed. When they ate open it is a skeleton crew of staff. This place sucks. Go to CVS across the street. Unacceptable period.
Drive thru took an hour to go through and yes they were open, with no closed lunch breaks going on. There were only a few cars in front of me. Stupid waiting time.
There was a long wait in the drive-thru for the pharmacy. After the wait, the pharmacy tech was kind and professional and made sure we didn't have any questions.
45 min (and counting) at the drive thru and neither lane has moved one car length! Come on!!!! Sick of all the excuses, show some pride and do your job better.
I live close by this Walgreens so I visit often. All the employees are helpful, nice, and great at what they do. I can usually find anything I need here.
Agree with the reviews. Avoid this pharmacy if you can. Horrible, the wait times are extremely long and it feels like they are always short staffed.
Lady at the counter tonight was super sweet and personable. She provided excellent customer service and makes me want to come in more often!
This Walgreens is the BEST, GREAT selection & the staff is friendly and helpful. This Walgreens is BETTER than the one close to my house...
Slow service especially at the pharmacy is a chronic problem here. The pharm staff seem to gossip alot and not much work being done.
Pharmacist, oriental lady named (Thu )very rude and unprofessional !!!! Needs to be fired for the way she talked to me about my wife
I go to this Walgreens over the one closer to my house because of the service and cleanliness of the store. Keep up the good work!
Absolutely terrible service at the pharmacy. I have never had to wait to long. They are rude and unprofessional.
I was looking for face masks and I see Walgreens is price gouging as like the one on Wyoming and San Antonio
Don’t try ordering Rx by phone. They just put you on hold for an hour or mire then you get disconnected.
This Walgreens pharmacy is helpful, professional, and caring. Abdul was incredibly helpful.
Pharmacy can't figure out their computer and only has 1 person working the line. Ridiculous
Fine. Similar to many other Walgreens in Albuquerque. The CVS across the street is nicer.
Worst pharmacy and female pharmacist I've ever seen. Don't go here if you can avoid it.
This location is fine. I don't know why they're bitching. Go here all the time
Nice place for a quick shopping trip. Parking can be a little tight
Good customer service and nice environment recommend shopping there
Encountered a very rude staff. Don't know if I will ever go back
Terrible service at the pharmacy. The worst I've seen anywhere.
The pharmacy is the slowest in town. Don't bother!
I would put zero stars pharmacy is a joke
Always friendly, has what I need
Fast friendly service
