My husband had eye surgery as a day procedure patient . I am extremely disappointed . I was initially told that my husband would be out of theatre around 10:30 am and that I would be contacted when he was ready to be picked up . I wanted to wait for him on level 1 but was told I could not and that I would be telephoned when he was ready to be discharged . So I hang around the hospital and went for a walk . . 10:30 am went by . 11:30 am ... gone .. 12 pm ... nothing . my brother in-law went to reception admin at 11:30 am and they said he was out and in recovery and for him to come back in 20 to 30 mins . I was not in a waiting room and was walking in and outside the hospital . I decided to walk back into the hospital at 12 pm . My brother in-law happened to see me waiting downstairs by the lift and said that admin told him that my husband would be ready in 20 mins, 20 mins before hand. How embarrassing... here I am his wife of 21 years waiting and forced to wait in the lobby and walk around and not allowed to be in the upstairs waiting room and was not even informed my husband was ready to be seen and taken home . Which is what they were supposed to do . So I went to level 1 with my brother in-law , where I asked if my husband was in recovery and ready to see us . She informed us that he was . I told my brother inlaw to Go and see his brother as only 1 person is allowed and I will see him after him( this was discussed infront of the nurse ). I waited for him , I still had no phone call from the hospital to advise me of his situation like they said they would . My brother in law walks out of the day recovery room and holds the door open for me so I can go and see my husband and take him home ( still no official phone call from Hospital ) I walk in and was immediately surrounded by the nursing staff as to who I was and why I was in the recovery room , where previously my brother in-law was allowed in on the decision that he sees him first and discussed infront of the nurse . I didn’t get upset I just informed them that the patient was my husband . ( and yes that same nurse had to be reminded of who i was ) . I have to say what a huge disappointment it is to be treated like the who is this girl ?? Was never ever telephoned , not acknowledged and was forced to sit in the downstairs lobby . I have been to many private hospitals . I have had my children at Cabrini and one of my little boys had an operation at Cabrini. The fantastic staff at Cabrini are in a league that can’t compare to Waverley . Como private have also been fantastic when my husband was in hospital with pneumonia. St Vincent’s private have also been fantastic to me where i had my bone marrow biopsy , they treated my husband fabulously . This was by far a very poor experience . Ps when we left my husband could hardly walk and I had no assistance . An older lady In the lift helped me with my husband and was concerned and helped us till the front of the lobby . You would think that a very unstable person on his feet would at least be given a wheel chair to the car... Edited to note that we had no follow up call from the hospital either

The Birth unit was good. I had Tracy overnight when I was in labour. She was the best I could ever had. Gentle, patient, nice and kind, understanding, compassionate. but in the morning, I had a different midwife who is young and not very skilled. She needed other midwives to give a hand or support adjusting the machines. After birth unit, the next four nights were the worst. (Jess, Be and Jenny are the three nice and responsible midwives I had though) i noticed that casual shifts midwives are more responsible, genuine and kind. others who are not casual workers are more irresponsible, not responsive, not even kind and some are really rude. 1. The las draw --- i waited for 1.5 hours before getting answered after ringing the bell. And it happened after I went to the reception with teary eyes. I was so sad that i was treated that way and i had a breakdown. I cried for about 40 minutes till the point that i could not breathe properly. All i needed was the support from the midwife on shift so I could run my baby a bath myself for the first time. four different midwives refused to run him a bath on their shifts with all kinds of excuses-- too busy, the girl on the next shift will do it blah blah blah... 2. One of the midwives never wore a mask or used sanitiser attending my room. i can smell cigarettes from her breath. (during covid time) 3. I can't stand that they put fingers into my baby's mouth to check whether hungry or not. some even wore long fake nails with polish on them. 4. I was told by one midwife that I cannot leave my room after i went to the reception to ask something. i should always stay in room and ring the bell. I have every right to leave the room whenever i want. 5. A midwife fed my baby sugar syrup without getting a consent from me or my husband. that is totally wrong!!! She even held my baby, a new born with two hands under the arms without supporting the neck...(i did not know these are wrong until later ) 6. there is a whiteboard in the room but no one ever wrote down required information on it. I was not told any basic information when moved to the room such as shifts change time, etc. They did not put down notes for the next midwife to see so same questions were being asked from every midwife. 7. One day, i wanted to have an extra pumpkin soup at dinner. i rang the kitchen and was told i cannot go myself to get it. I must get a midwife to get it for me. i politely asked the midwife who was on shift but apparently, she never got 1 minute to get it for me. 8. Before i was discharged, I was asked to sign a form with a list of things I was supposed to be told, which never happened. Overall, the experience was not satisfied in maternity unit. Midwives could have been responsible, nice and patient.

I had to undergo a surgery last month and was admitted for a night. The surgeon and anesthesiologists were good. Most of the nurses were nice and kind until I was pushed to the private room for the night. The nurses were all very professional until the night shifts came in. They were very unprofessional and they were ignorant and made a lot of noises at night while we were trying to sleep. At one point, I removed my drip to go to the toilet without help(I am a doctor myself so I know how to do it) and the machine was beeping for almost 10 minutes before they realised and came in to ask if I was alright. When the morning shift came in, one of them was very nice and friendly but the other was being snobbish and unfriendly acting with authority. I did not tell her I am a doctor and I observed her attitude. My partner and I asked some questions and she was not answering them in a polite way at all. Until my surgeon came for rounds and somehow told her I am a doctor and her attitude totally changed. She was so much more careful and polite. I knew she panicked when she removed my canula too roughly without realising it was a long one and it sort of started bleeding more than it should and she repeatedly said sorry. My partner was totally annoyed with the obvious double standard treatment. Other than that, the hospital has good facilities. They just need to have a much more friendlier staffs especially the ones on the registration desk as most of them are very unfriendly and rude when we meet them in person.

We booked our 7-year-old son in for a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy on 10/04/2019, we were already running late for our morning admission time due to traffic, so we notified the staff at the hospital who reassured us that it was not a problem. Our experience with every member of staff from that point on was extremely friendly and positive. We were all made to feel comfortable from the moment we walked in, to the moment our son was discharged, even the staff in Hudson's coffee were friendly. Our anaesthetist Dr Anthony Burn was amazing with our son, he explained the process in a calm, positive and friendly manner which put not only our son at ease, but also us. Our son was already happy to know that Mr Buchanan was his surgeon of choice, due to his friendly nature, but together with Dr Burn, we were all quietly confident that he was in good hands. We were privately funded and to be honest, we were a bit sceptical based on the negative reviews that we had read about the hospital. The fact that our preferred surgeon Mr Buchanan only operated out of 2 hospitals and that it was in our son’s best interest to have this surgery sooner rather than later, helped make our decision to take a leap of faith, and we are so very grateful that we did. Thank you to every staff member that helped make our son Parker’s overnight stay such a positive and friendly experience, without your patience, friendliness and calming professionalism, our son would’ve been afraid to have the much-needed surgery. Overall experience okay but not at excellence level which is a lot to be desired! Had a small surgery in this hospital and will not do it again for sure. The Events: At entrance they have screening which is what most Hospitals do if not an emergency. I had a Covid Swab Test done before I attended which was about 3 days old (unfortunately in Australia that is the best you can do) as a courtesy as I was undergoing surgery. The Reception still insisted on asking questions on possible symptoms of Covid for example 'Have you had diarrhea? Do you have fever? Have you been in contact with anyone with Covid? Blah Blah Blah. This is all based on honesty and we know the world as being honest with everything they do!. In any event, one has to go to the first floor where all operating theatres are located. The elevator takes forever to reach 1 floor. Its like being on a train in India, no exagerration! Then you ring the bell and some grumpy old woman will attend to you and usher you to the waiting room. "Have a seat and that's the toilet' My admission was at 12.30 noon and was taken into the theatre only at 5 pm. I was fasting from 7.30 a.m and had to continue fasting without any water until 5 pm. Imagine that! In the 'Admission'' process I was told that they are not ready for me as yet. I wonder why? In any event, post op care was good as they were all young nurses and great with people of all ages. This hospital has to get to excellence level if they wish to continue with providing services to patients.

I highly recommend and if I was to have another bub, I'll definitely return. As I've told the amazing midwives/nurses before: "I was ready to grow old and die here". I can't thank the midwives/nurses enough: Rachel (your welcoming smile which provides comfort through my contractions), Donna (queen of kids and grandkids), Carol (my support when I was getting my epi, I hope I didn't crush your arms), Jenni, Ruth (your emotional support during my hormonal fluctuations), Eden, Sara (the bathing hold), Robyn , Shauna, Litsa, Venica (don't be too precious as bubs are resilient), Jane , Emily (proof that short hair can still be braided), Leshaye (best name ever), Amanda, Ifrah (comfort feeding), Lisa (tip of using a pad to cover the wound to avoid friction between material) etc... (I hope I spelt your names right and I apologise if I've missed anyone) - but know that each and everyone of you had made an imprint in my life which I can't thank you enough, and no doubt you ladies have the same impact on other first time mums :) And I must thank the catering team for the amazing meals and Katie, my favourite cake lady who severs the best chocolate cake during tea time. Literally saved my life, as I was going to need a blood transfusion following my emergency C, if my blood pressure didn't rise by that evening - I swear it was the chocolate cake and Katie's smile. Keep up the amazing work and knowledge sharing that isn't available no matter how many books/videos are read or seen. xoxo 222131 ;)

Booked in for a day surgery, we were told that we had to pay the extra cost for a night in case there were any complications and that this would be refunded on discharge, Discharged on the same day, yet the accounts lady refused to refund the extra we payed, and told us that we had to wait until the following week, as there may be further surgeon and theater costs. Returned 4 days later to chase up refund and the same accounts lady said that they were still waiting for the theater report and could not refund the money. None of this made sense as all accounts had been paid in full prior to admission. The reception staff were incredibly rude and patronizing. Adding to this, we paid the account in full on admission and 6 weeks later we received a further unexpected bill of more than $900. I can understand if an estimated quote/invoice was within a few hundred dollars, but nearly a thousand dollars more was ridiculous. The original estimate given was comparable to other hospitals in the area, however after receiving the extra bill, they were actually more expensive. Also the over the counter pharmaceuticals that were issued on discharge were ridiculously over priced, $18.90 for 24 paracetamol. We were not told the price of these when we were given them, only realised when it came to paying the bill. The final costs ended up been far more than we were initially quoted. Will not be returning to Waverley Private and would not recommend.

We had such a traumatic experience in the baby nursery section that we wanted to sue this hospital. The nurse named Shida gave us such a tough time when our baby was in the nursery care. She was so arrogant and rude to us. The 1 month of anxiety and stress we had to go through because of her, cannot be summarised in words. I am not sure why such a reputed hospital has her in special care??? I must mention all the other nurses had been super nice but unfortunately she was a regular nurse so had to see her daily and at times she bullied us. We even complained to the management and we were assured action will be taken, to our surprise no action was taken even after filing a written complaint. When we spoke to a few other nurses about Shida's behaviour we were told many complaints have been filed in the past but the management does not take any action against her as there is a shortage of nurses. One nurse also assured us that she can't harm our baby as she only has behavioural problems but does her work well. How can you trust someone with behavioural issues will keep your baby safe?? I repent selecting this hospital for our baby and wish no one has to go through this traumatic experience. Such a shame on the management for not taking any action even after written complaints. They are just busy collecting money.

Amazing experience at Waverly Private Hospital. We had 3 babies at WPH over the last 4 years and our overall experience was exceptional on every single occasion. WPH has lifted the bar on each occasion. This place holds many great memories for us that each time we drive by the hospital it puts a big smile on our face. We initially picked this hospital because of its location, parking facilities, and a recently refurbished maternity unit with good birthing facilities and newborn care. After our first stay in 2018, we experienced firsthand how amazing the staff are - from the reception staff, surgery team (I had a Caesarean), midwives/nurses, caters to cleaners; they were all so lovely and caring. The midwives/nurses especially were very helpful, extra caring, and always attend to the buzzer with a smile on their faces. Being a first-time mother at that time I got so much assistance with caring for a newborn baby. Furthermore, on-site lactation consultation and physiotherapy made it that much smoother for a new mum. Two of my babies were born during the CV19 and WPH ensured the best experience possible given all the restrictions. We have recommended WPH to many of our family and friends who have since had their babies there and also shared similar experiences. Keep up the wonderful service!

1 rotten tomato ruined the day despite everyone else doing great. She's on level 1 day procédure réception. Had an early morning getting my 88yo mother who has fractured bones in her spine, ready for an emergency fix to a macula hole in her only eye. When she's finally taken in the theatre it's over 5 hours. I was dying for breakfast I left in my car however I was told to wait in this reception room in case they need me to translate. This is a small room about 10 sqm. Apart from 2 or 3 chairs the only thing you can see is a kitchenette fully stocked with clean mugs tea coffee biscuits hot water tap and a fridge. I couldn't be more thankful for literally 7 seconds then I heard this woman wearing a horrible look said something like you can't eat here, it's not fair for patients who are fasting, isn't the sign big enough for you. Note I didn't even eat anything yet. So where are the fasting patients? If you know there are fasting patients why you put out the entire "collection" in such a small waiting room where you notice nothing but food and drink? I thought I was stressful enough but looks like this is a workplace even more stressful for her. Humiliating me makes her feel better sure you are entitled to! Go on treat your patients the way you like. I hope you enjoy yourself.

This hospital deserves five stars because... it has amazing staff; the visiting specialists, nurses, support staff and the admin -All of them are professionals and friendly kind people. My closest contacts were the specialist doctor, Dr Dinesh Epitawela, who I consulted for my surgery; he went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable, informed, safe and cured. He was discussing the issue with me and my family, making sure what I was going through and reassuring at the same time, providing information to understand the pre/post op processes. Since then, he has called me personally to make sure I am recovering after the surgery and being patient and kind all along. It goes with all the nurses if I could remember a few names Senali, Bec, Shamrika, Maddy and another very kind nurse who attended to me as soon as I was brought into the room, unfortunately the name did not register in my mind, she was so...professional and kind ( an European name). Please pardon me if I have forgotten your name, as you all were truly amazing and need a shout out going for you!!! The catering staff was amazing and they made some delicious food and presented them with care; acknowledging the individual needs. The hospital is a small place, very clean and adequately resourced.

I had breast cancer surgery at this hospital and stayed for 3 days. The staff were friendly, professional, courteous and caring. The room was big and spacious. The bathroom was also quite spacsious. I did not expect that a small private hospital. Everything was new and very clean. They supplied fresh towels everyday and hospital gowns as many as I needed. The staff working during the surgery were amazing. I have had surgery at Epworth Box Hil and stayed at St John of Berwick so I know the difference. What I loved most was the food. It was French and Italian restaurant quality gaurmet food. It felt more like a hotel than a hospital. Since I am alergic to Fructose they modified the food for me and they give a great choice of food so it was easy for me to choose something that did not have fructose. I truly enjoyed the stay. They were very accommodating. The best food I've had at a hospital. The ordering process was also very easy. None of the other hospitals I stayed at understood my allergies or took the effort to modify the food. This really helped me recover faster. I would have stayed an extra day if not for the COVID. I have decided to have my reconstruction surgery at this hospital. A big thank you to the hospital.! You are doing a great job!

Friendly maternity staff and knowledgable Food was decent Comfortable stay there were a quite a number of births on the same day so room shortages and a there was a feeling of being a tad understaffed But the nurses were superstars with quick response times, knowledgeable and caring. Would have been a 5 star experience, but discharge practices needs to be reviewed. 1. Discharge times were and reminders were not clearly described 2. Someone came to the room as just started shooing us out saying they need the room and just started clearing the room. At this stage the baby was not even dressed. And we were trying to settle the baby for the car ride. It could've been handled better by perhaps giving us a reminder 15-20mins before, and then give us some privacy to finish up. Rather than start stripping the room and add to the mayhem. Please put proper procedures in place to rectify this as it may come across as rather rude and disorganised. 3. Visiting hours are from 3pm. Which means no other adults is allowed to enter beforehand. Discharge process would be easier if exception can be made for the last ~60mins before discharge, whereby close family such as grandparents can help with packing and minding. Thanks for your care and service

They actually deserve NO start alas that's not the option. I had my baby Feb 2021 and they gave me worse time of my life. there were not enough staff in maternity ward. We decided to go private thinking I will get the best care and on contrary It was the biggest disappointment. I had c-section and despite of immense pain I was alone taking care of my baby. from changing nappies to baby bath I did it all, No one ever offered any help. I got severe infection in my wound and got temprature still I had to request them to take my baby to nursery so I can have some rest. during my 5 days stay they only kept baby 2 nights at the nursery and rest of the time she was with me. I was told since there is no other patient on floor I was the only one they sent staff home and the nursery is closed. Every time I will feel pain I always had to ask midwives if I am due for my pain meds and then they come with Panadol or any other medicine I am due for. I mean they won't even keeping track of my pain meds. After discharge I received an email asking for the feedback which I did and requested for a call back in regards to my experience but haven't heard anything so far. I urge everyone to stay away from this hospital. worst service ever.

Most Staff are friendly and helpful, good service overall. But it seems like they rely on a lot of temporary/oncall staff that keep coming in as there is a lack of permenant staff at the maternity ward. We had to wait over 7 hours to be treated after booking in to be induced as they were only able to take care of 2 pregnancies at that time. Even though they had 4 birth suites. Pretty poor considering we chose this hospital for the facilities they boasted to have when we were checking out the place. Government hospitals provided my friends with more linen and cloth to wrap compared to this private hospital where we pay a premium price for a poor service. We were asked to bring them from home. My eldest son was born at south eastern 7 years ago where the service was excellent compared to Waverley private, unfortunately they do not do maternity anymore. The nurses who looked after us after the birth were excellent in terms of care, it's just facilities I feel like they are cutting costs to maximise profits, they seem to blame it on being Eco friendly - (I am all for being Eco friendly as long as it is not making things unhygienic).

Thank you for the nurses support and they are absolutely wonderful and kind nurses in Melbourne . If it is rating for the nurses service it will be 5 stars review. However there is some not very pleasant experience as I have received message about account payment after my surgery but not a phone call or email from the hospital. Of course I call as I want to check if it is scam even I was unwell after the surgery. I called twice and they said will call me back . But apparently I have not received any phone call or email to explain about the account message. I feel tired keep following up and it is stressful too not knowing what happened. I hope communication can improve at least an email or in the message state clearly what is needed from my end. The 2nd time on the phone the lady noted down my phone no but I still have any call back . Overall nurses are the best asset of the hospital and I really feel grateful for having them to look after me even it is just a day surgery. I think it is a 5 star if the hospital work on better communication :)

Not going to sugar coat it, sleep training can be hard but well worth the effort. Before going into Waverley I had so much anxiety, would the program work?, would it make my LO worse?, do I really want her to sleep in a different room?, could I handle listening to my LO cry?? The first day was challenging but unlike sleep and feeding programs you buy in book form, Waverley has highly qualified nurses there to hold you hand the whole way. Really surprising the nurses didn't suggest to use the cry out method rather they showed me techniques that would allow my LO to feel like she's in a safe and quiet environment perfect for sleeping. We went when she was around 5 months and while she has just started sleeping through now at 8 months, since finishing the program she has consistently done 3 naps a day, crawls to her own cot when she's tired, goes to sleep on her own with minimal need to pat and zero crying. This program is a game changer not only for helping my LO sleep but more so for enabling me to stay calm and feel incontrol.

Prior to admission, I was advised to plan for several accommodation and theatre charges relating to a day procedure. At discharge I'd settled all these costs. 2 months later the hospital came back with a new bill for some unknown 'theatre fees''. Calling the hospital for clarification was no help. They bounced me from department to department finally landing in Billing. The billing department person refused to provide her name and was incredibly rude over the phone and just told me to chase up this new bill with my doctor. But this is the hospital invoice - not the doctor's invoice which I had paid directly. After this encounter with the billing department, I have to rate the overall experience as very disappointing. Update: After raising a formal dispute, the Liaison Officer called me finally. To their credit she was determined to reach a happy resolution. I would say that we have reached a equitable compromise. This restored my opinion of the hospital so I re-rated the experience.

Recently had my second baby here and could not rate the whole experience more positively. First baby was born at another local private hosp which was super busy, had a lot of agency staff and I didn’t feel like I got the support I needed (for feeding) being a first time parent (a gazillion people in and out of your room all day while you’ve been up feeding baby all night, constant alarms going off). Waverley was completely different, maternity ward was quiet and allowed for proper rest and recovery, food was great, midwives were supportive and experienced, and through a few monitoring visits I had before the baby was born I felt the whole process was thorough and the staff excellent - the midwives delivered my baby because I had a super quick labour and my doctor didn’t quite make it, but they were so competent and skilled it was a memorable experience and I wouldn’t change a thing. I’ve also used the feeding clinic after we went home which was excellent. I would highly recommend.

  • Madriena Hoko

I delivered my baby boy at Waverley Private and it was a wonderful experience. Sisly was our person of contact prior to delivery. She took us for a tour around the hospital and she gave us all the information we needed about the delivery process. She was a very friendly professional. On the delivery day, We had 2 midwives who looked after us (Sara and Tracy), and they were both wonderful. Tracy was very warm and friendly towards me and her words of encouragement helped me to push through the toughest period of labour. My husband and I cant’t thank her enough for her help. During my 3 days stay in the hospital, we were looked after by midwives Mikaela and Danielle, and they were both wonderful too. They checked on me and my baby regularly and was always there when we needed something. I would like to say thank you to all the midwives and staff at Waverley private for looking after my baby and i, and i would recommend anyone to give birth here.

Came in for a day procedure.. they hadn't checked I paid for excess.. asked me to evidence it.. then showing bank statement wasn't enough so called the hospital where I paid excess. I offered to pay and be given a refund they refused. Had to stay the night... had to be asking for catheter to be empties regularly as my mobile was poor after procedure. Next day I ask for a resident doctor..there is no residents available. Asked if I could stay til 12.30pm as my ride isn't available and they are driving 2 hours to get here. They said no. Worse hospital experience I have had. I have been to other hospitals. I will not be coming back. Only people I trust is my dr amd his team everyone else wS absolutely bad. Nurses have no idea . They have no lactose free available.. eating a gluten and lactose free meal.proved a issue. They could not provide diabetic options either. Don't come her. You might as well pay a motel and have a better service e

Boy ! What a stroke of luck for us ! I was brought to Waverley Private by my OB because Jesse Mac (my original hospital) couldn’t take in emergency inductions . Within 5 days the midwives spent their Christmas break making sure I know how to take care of my Christmas baby. I had the best birth and post birth experience in Waverley private and I’d go back again if I go private for my next one. So well done ! So what exactly did they do? Let me list it down : 1) They supported my birth plan and helped me achieve my birth goals 2) They set me up for breastfeeding success . My child put on her birth weight in less than 10 days and I am still successfully breastfeeding at 20 months (and going strong) 3) They showed me love , care, and respect and answered every silly question of mine . I remember crying buckets while leaving the hospital and I hugged the midwife on call because of how much help I had gotten. God bless you all !

Doctor was great, the nurses that helped in the beginning were absolutely lovely to speak with. The reception lady on level 1 was quite rude to begin with and than her behaviour changed. I was greeted by final nurse who was helping me understand the after-care required for my mother and was absolutely professional and lovely. As I was speaking to this nurse and my mother another nurse who was behind the desk approx 3ms away was shouting to my mother you'll feel dizzy for days and carried on with how my mother would feel. It was extremely frustrating as I couldn't speak to my mum or even hear the nurse that was speaking to me originally as this Asian nurse kept carrying on with zero eye contact or consideration. I apologise for raising my voice to tell the annoying nurse I would like to speak to my mum ,I just wanted hear that my mother was ok without anyone else yelling at her from a distance.

Anything less than a 5 star would be less for this hospital. I was lucky that I got to deliver our baby here. Great facilities and lovely staff and food is delicious. A shout out to all the lovely staff working with the maternity department from doctors, anaesthesiologists, nurses, midwives, kitchen department and administration. Would like to give special mention to the midwives who made our life so much easier by hand holding us all the way in those difficult initial newborn days. You guys have been angels. Got to learn lot of stuff during our stay there regarding how to care for my newborn baby. Thank you so much Jane, Brigit, dolly, Phae, Anabelle, Stacey, Sharon, Anh, Tash, Alwyn, Jenny and there were few more. I am so sorry I can’t remember all the names well. But hats off to all you guys for all your hard work. And thank you Sisly Wang for responding to all our queries promptly.

  • Shahab Lala

Overall experince was satisfactory. Few things made me give this ratings. First of all there were different midwifes coming to check which is understandable but each midwife came and asked the same questions and none recorded it in the notes for the other one to see. The care in birthing suite was the best. But after going to the room it was not all glitters. Also we were asked to either isolate(with baby and wife) or all three of us go home as my wife had sore throat and they took the covid test and their rules say that we weren't able to stay. Also, the after birth care was also not same from each midwife. Some were good some were not so good. I felt some of the staff was rude too. Felt a bit off. Those same ladies were happily talking to other patients. Anyways thankyou so much for your services.

We did our sleep training there and were not impressed by one of the nurses Caroline. The way she treated us was not professional or helpful. As well as the staffing issue they had which delayed our admission which we were ok at first. But there are a few issues later on really made the experience difficult. On the website the hospital is advertised as it has luxurious stay. The building does look fancy but we were provided a very uncomfortable single bed that sort of feels like and sounds like it had hard plastic wrap around it, and the sheet itself has a hole in it?! It’s hard to believe that this is a paid service. The quality of the stay and their staffing issue which should not be passed on to the customers really can’t justify. Better off going public health

I had a wonderful experience giving birth to my twins at Waverley Private via C-section. Thank you to the theatre nurses who took pictures of bubbas and held my hand when I was so nervous. Thank you to the midwives who are so helpful and friendly during my 5-day hospital stay (except one who was rather rude to me). Thank you to the midwives who took great care of my bubbas during their 3-week stay at the special care nursery. I want to specially thank Anne, Stacey, Ashley and every midwife who looked after me/bubbas so well during our stay. You all did an amazing job and touched my heart in every way. I would definitely choose Waverley Private all over again if I’m ever giving birth again.

I read some reviews and got scared of adimoting my son for his operation. But at the end took him there and staff were really nice and helpful. Specially the anestheologist was awesome. He was so friendly and nice. Jus gone thing I would like to recommend the hospital to do with patience to provide a prior communication to patient what can be expected, like when to arrive at the hospital, does patience need to do anything extra, whether to eat or not prior to the operation, how long will the whole procedure take, etc. I had to ask for information but there are people may not ask which ll put them in trouble to organise things. Need to be little bit more systematic. Thank you.

This place changed my life , I had my girl here and the service is excellent- the food , room , staff , my and obstetrician Weng Chan was great and made everything perfect for me . If I will do it again , I want it exactly the same . Then I did the early parenting when my daughter was 4 months old and I can’t recommend it enough - my baby is the happiest and her daily cycle made my life so easy . The staff are amazing and the rooms and food are great. The whole process was smooth and they teach you with everything you need to know and more . First time mom here and it was the best decision I’ve ever done. Thanks so much for everything

  • Not Happy

Awful experience from the start, admission to service & treatment at Waverley Private hospital. Everything has been so disappointing; lack of car park, noise level from construction, slow & unattentive nurses & midwives. Asked 3 midwives, came to reception twice and rang the button 3 times and still couldn't get an extra blanket. Asking for some tablet (medication) and 4 hours later I still didn't get it. Requested for a double bed so my partner could stay but was given a single bed and partner wasn't allowed to stay. I was at a public hospital for my previous baby and the service I received was better in every way.

  • Nishani Herath

Very poor service received. My three and a half year old came out of his surgary with lot of pain and the nurses were handing the situation as if they were delaing with an adult. His hand was not supported with a splint for the IV drip and he had blood reflux and they were blaming it on my son moving his arm and expected him to understand the situation as if he was an adult. A splint was put after I requested and I felt the staff had lack of knowladge in handing even a simple situation. Some staff are friendly but most are not. If ever a need occures again I will select Jessie McPherson over Weverly private.

Yesterday I had an appointment with Dr Vikram David. Before I got the appointment around a month ago, my GP called Dr David and asked for the work-cover patient. Dr Vicram Daviud said yes, the clinic would accept the work cover. Before my appointment, the receptionist said yes,, but you must pay the money in advance. So if the clinic accepts the work cover, why do they ask for money? Then the receptionists start to explain what exactly does not make any sense. I need a proper answer why they said they accepted the work cover, then they changed their mind and wanted the money before???

  • Daniella Liuzzi

This is one of the best hospitals. All of the nurses are so kind and caring and they make sure that their patients are very well taken care of. I was a bit nervous before going into surgery and when the theatre nurses came to take me into surgery they reassured me that everything would be fine and they would take good care of me. On the way to the OR they talked to me to make sure I was distracted and one of the nurses even put her hand on my hand and told me everything would be ok. I am so grateful for the amazing nurses that I had and I would highly recommend coming to this hospital

  • Mel McGee

Nice hospital but some of the nurses had attitude and it had terrible food. I hadn't eaten all day and after surgery all I was offered was a gluten free sandwich for dinner (I cant eat gluten). I was so hungry I asked the nurses for another sandwich and the kitchen closed at 7pm so all they could offer was tinned fruit. when I was read to be discharged the nurse on kept on coming in the room trying to get me out before my partner had even come to pick me up. very disappointing but couldn't fault the Surgeon, Anaesthesist and lovely Wendy the nurse that got be ready before surgery.

  • Andrea Maltman

Early Parenting Centre was so, so awful. Do not go here for solids/ feeding issues. The staff did not have the skill, will or strategies despite advertising otherwise. Staff were very hands off. Lacked initiative. Became defensive and argumentative during feedback sessions when prompted to action. Had the wrong GP details. Had to be chased to send report to the right GP - three days after discharge. Did not send notes in the GP report as promised. An absolute shambles from start to finish. Watch a YouTube video. Will be more insightful and 5k less expensive.

  • suzy dahouk

I was there five years ago& I was there last year, for a day procedure. I honestly could say: this hospital tops up the rest in the area, from doctors, nurses , to front desk staff are so polite & obliging. Canteen staff& the food is superb! nothing had changed from five years ago, every one is still the same! I was speaking to Nicole on the phone before & she was more than happy to answer all my questions, nothing is too much trouble, a bit of kindness is free! I wish they had an ED there, it would be of a great service to the area! Suzy Dahouk

  • Shannon mayne

Wow! From the moment we walked in the doors & cheacked in for my wife's surgery yesterday, we could not have been treated any better!!! From the ladies walking around doing water in the rooms to the Surgeon himself & everyone in between have gone above and beyond any other hospital that we have ever been in. I left late last night after a very long day & 7+ hour surgery & recovery for my wife, I knew she could not have been in better hands. Thank you too everyone at Waverley Private, will absolutely highly recommend you for sure. 10/10

  • David Wong

We just had our baby girl here. The room, the service and the nurses especially are absolutely fantastic. Food is great but probably on the smaller size for me at least (note meal time is 7am 12pm and 5pm). As a guide, if you think the portion served on airline meal is not enough for you, then best pack some extra food (deliveries are not allowed during covid lockdown). Hot water tap and microwave is available in common area for use. Congratulations to all the up and coming parents reading this. All the best with your parenthood journey.

  • Navin Kaur

I recently had surgery at Waverley Private Hospital which required me to stay a few nights. I was beyond impressed by 3 nurses who cared for me during my stay. Donna (Surgical Nurse), Sandy & Robin. Their care was absolutely amazing. They were very patient with my questions & concerns and they have a great bedside manner. They are made to be nurses! Thank you so much to all the nurses who looked after me. Also, the food was fantastic! Nutritious and a few options to choose from. Good environment to recuperate. A big Thank You!

  • Søren Frederiksen

Polite, friendly and full of interesting conversation, I whole-heartedly endorse the staff at Waverley Private Hospital. (I'm here as I write, sitting in my bed resting off a minor surgery, just having finished a custard lamington and reading a book.) Everyone I've encountered has been attentive and professional, carrying themselves with an air of kindness and competence. As to the facilities, my room is shared, but not without privacy. My bed is comfortable, televisions are standard and all else well maintained. A pleasure.

  • Abbu Hassan

If you ever have option of choosing a hospital for an operation, and if the options available is Waverley private and a hospital in a third world country. Please choose the later one. We had such a nasty experience with the way my daughter’s operation was handled. She came out of theatre and they called my wife to pick her up. And drama after drama after that. If anyone out there contemplating on having an operation done there. Please think, think and think again. If still not convinced please contact me for further info.

  • Thilini Seneviratne

Really disappointing service of day procedure section, I was there with my son to pick up my husband and they said it’s shame that I cannot go home and come back. Because I waited in the visitors room. and really nice gentlemen offered a apple juice from the patients tray I guess, for my boy and this grumpy staff member thought I stole it and started taking the heat off me, and grumbling each time she came for the staff area. It should have a guess WARNING SIGN for GRUMPY STAFF notice was missing. Never going back

  • Jessica Gilbert

If I was able to give one thousand stars to all the nurses in the early parenting centre I would! I cannot thank you all enough for being the best and most supportive women that my little one and myself needed in such a hard sleep deprived time. You have made me so much more confident in being able to settle my little one during the night, and am now able to get a full night's rest! I now know I had absolutely no reason to be anxious to come in, you all made me feel so beyond comfortable! ❤️

  • kumar wick

Rude staff Should say white only hospital Came to see a person who gave birth but went on the wrong direction without thinking too much. This white woman jumped at me and yelled. I said I am coming here for the the first time but it was no excuse for her. Should be bit considerate when this is a private hospital where you earn money to make a profit. Not a state hospital. It not ok to shout at people. They need training not only to look after patients, how to communicate well with people.

  • Traveler L

I would like to give my big thanks to nurse Sandy. She is so kind and warm, made my stay so enjoyable and relaxing after my ankle surgery. I was embarrassed to ask for help for my personal needs, but she has made everything so easy. She is genuinely care about me and provide me all the care from the moment I finished my surgery in the morning to that night she finish her shift. Dinner was tasty and fresh. Thanks for making my hospital stay less stress but more relaxed.

  • Tracey Griffiths

The Waverley Private is a fabulous hospital, as its the nursing staff that make it a friendly happy environment when you are feeling unsure or nervous about your operation. First Fran on pre- admission is a treasure, so lovely and caring. On the ward Kelly, Louise and Emily made me feel great when l was not well and nothing was ever a chore. Everyone you meet is smiling and happy and in this time of covid they made it a joy to be cared for by them.

  • Lu Zhou

You can find excellent maternal service here. I delivered two babies here. The experience were both very positive. midwives are very warm and knowledgeable. New born nursery has capability to support newborn with additional needs. Ward is comfy and food is yummy. I received support and education right from the beginning (hospital tour, new parent education session) to post delivery (mother baby unit, sleep school). Thank you!

  • Anthony Sik

I received excellent around-the-clock care here where I stayed overnight after surgery. The staff were amazing, and I had a very comfortable stay at Waverley Private Hospital post surgery. The hospital environment was cosy, everything was well organised and great staff morale. Food was decent in quality and quantity compared with other hospitals I had visited in the past. A great hospital and experience

  • Connor Musselwhite

Had a recent ENT surgery here with Dr Triolo. Being treated for Obstructive sleep apnea (tonsillectomy, rhinoplasty, septoplasty, tubrinoplasty, adinoidectomy, and endoscopy). All staff, nurses, and doctors where very attentive to any needs and quality of care was amazing. I truly have never had an experience as welcoming and as caring as the care I revived here. Highly recommend.

  • Pyrnassius RS

Daughter had an 8:30am appt for wisdom teeth removal. Told it was a 40 minutes procedure, with about 30-40 minute recovery time. Still hadn't been taken in at 12:30pm. Waiting to take her home. Allowed 4 hours for it. 1:30pm and told she is just now in surgery. So, won't be out til 3:30ish. Why book patients for 8:30 and 4 hours later, they are still waiting? Terrible service.

  • Bryan H

I would rate the maternal ward staff 6 stars if i can. A big shout out to all the midwives who had given care to my wife when she was there giving birth 2 months ago. The team is extremely experienced, friendly and always go extra miles in fulfilling our needs. Thanks very much for all your help and support through the period when we were there. You guys rock!

  • T J

Would not recommend this hospital… we were left waiting to be seen for a scheduled surgery for well over an hour… once they finally got started it was then another 3 and a half hours before they even started the surgery… all of this for 1 tooth to be removed. The staff could not give us any info. Really disappointed We will not return to this hospital again.

  • Laura Forlani

Currently at Wav Priv Maternity. The team are wonderful, very attentive. During labour I was given all my options, encouraged to do what felt right and wasn’t pressured into any decisions. Clear communication between the midwives, myself, and Specialists (eg OBGYN, anaesthetist). A very calm, healthy birth, clean rooms. Fantastic place to have a baby :-)

  • Kymm Dunstone

I recently travelled 3.5hrs to have my 19month old Son have surgery here. I found that all of the staff were incredibly helpful and supportive and would travel the distance again for the kind of care we both received. The hospital itself was comfortable and modern. Thank you again to everyone who looked after us during our stay :)

  • Danče Kostadinova

I had a great experience at Waverly Private hospital for getting my wisdom teeth removed by Dr.Nu. The nurses were so kind and attentive, I felt that I was being cared for so thank you very much! The surgery was also very smooth and Dr.Nu is the best for the job, she takes such good care and I couldn't be more greatful to her.

  • David Souter

I had a procedure last Saturday 24 June 2023. I would like to thank all the staff who were brilliant. From the Reception area to pre procedure, theatre and post procedure I could not fault them. Professional, friendly and efficient. This was my third procedure at Waverley Private and they have always been superb. Many thanks.

  • Ari Touran

Extremely disappointing. The very first point of contact was horrible. We were met with a rude receptionist that didn’t even bother to greet us. The nurses also made us feel extremely uncomfortable during the duration of our stay. The overall experience left us bitter towards the hospital, so we don’t recommend coming here.

  • Lena Bornyan

I would like to express my heart and thanks to midwife Reagina! From the commencement of me coming in for some injections to the birth of my baby boy she has been an angel! She is extremely caring and just knows what to do! I would recommend her to anyone! Thank you again Reagina! You truly are a professional! Much love!

  • Batman and Ethan Ethan

From the moment I walked into Waverley private hospital I was looked after and made to feel comfortable right away. Emily was amazing in getting me organised for my surgery and absolutely fantastic the following day on the ward. Emily’s compassion, caring, kind & empathetic attitude made my stay so much better.

  • PC E

Failed to meet expectations from pre admission to early self discharge. Shocking experience. Complete lack of communication and/or care of patient. Staff incompetent, rude and nonchalant. Contacted hospital several times re follow up - disinterested! Food unacceptable. Cleaning non existent. Will go elsewhere.

  • Joanne D

5-day surgical admission. Some very experienced nurses provided care afterwards, their knowledge after many years on the ward caring for gyno patients was so appreciated. Also appreciated the kind theatre nurses who held my hand and reassured me when I was a bit scared as I went in. Room and food also lovely.

  • Ryan

Had a quick day procedure here today. The hospital was clean and modern. The staff were all great from reception to the nurses. Helen was amazing and really made me feel at ease both before and after surgery. My anaesthetist was very polite with a nice bed-side demeanour. Thank you to Dr Ranasinghe also.

  • Elena Zelikova

I had my hip arthroscopy surgery done at this hospital. Really impressed and thankful to all stuff members- administration, doctors, nurses, physio. So much care and help I received in there. You deserve more, than 5 stars. Thank you so much for making people comfortable before and after surgery.

  • Lin Chen

Waverley private hospital giving personal details to wrong authority. We only did one treatment, and my wife gets 2 invoices from 2 different doctors. And they keep saying not hospital mistake. All the staffs on the phone are not trying to fix the problem, and even hang up the phone.

  • Chris Dyson

I have nothing but praise for this place. Both of my children were born there and I have been treated there myself. First class care, excellent staff. I have heard horror stories off friends about other hospitals, but never anything other than the highest praise for Waverley.

  • Julie Clark

I can't speak more highly of the staff at this hospital as I went into breast surgery there. The nurses were so caring especially Jess and the lovely woman that looked after me from the MIA radiology dept. It means alot to be cared for like this and I thank them very much.

  • Evaan R

Good services. No signage at the entrance. A lot of people wondering around the Carpark looking where they need to go. Carpark has no parking available. You need to park on the road. Not many receptionists at reception mostly Nurses manning the desks between their work.

  • Aitong Zhang

My mother in law had surgery in this hospital, the nurse get her dirty bed pan to use. And about her discharge summary, nothing detailed, had to call hospital to ask what she took in ward. When can start her medication. Very terrible nurse who was looking after her.

  • Ash UC

I went to hospital for ultrasound scan today. The radiologist became very rough. Also tlked to me Very unpleasantly. She needed to pretend me that she is very busy. May be. But she should be gentle using her words. But other staff gave me good service and helped me.

  • James Cope

Had my baby son there recently. When he was born he had low blood sugar readings and yet they refused to feed him for four hours despite our constant requests for formula. He ended up going dangerously low and he stayed that way for well over 24 hours. Unforgivable.

  • amber wong

Top notch service, I had my first baby born at Waverly private last month. The midwives Sharon, Ash and Tracey were super friendly, They gave me a lot of useful advice and encouragement as a new mum. In house meals were delicious too. I wish I could stay longer!

  • Natalie Cox

The staff at Waverley private hospital are beyond excellent. My stay there was made so much the better because of the staff. From the recovery room to being discharged, just awesome!!!! thank you Waverley private team, thank you so very much!!!!

  • Janie Cahill

Had surgery here in late September and was treated so kingly by all involved. The room was MASSIVE, surgery was smooth and the nurses were delightful to deal with. Big smiles and made me feel so comfortable when I was having a moment of fear!

  • Nimal R

I was admitted for a day procedure on Monday 09th October. Everything else was okay but the nurse who was there from the preparation room ( Asian) was not up to the standards at all. She couldn't understand English and I couldn't understand

  • PT TT (PCC)

I had a surgery in April for a minor laparoscopy. The location of the hospital is convenient and away from the bustling city and busy roads. The nursing care is not the best compared to other private hospitals i have stayed. In patient food

  • FRANK ZHANG

Had my second child born here , not impressive with some staff , not very patient, I was told that they will organise baby shower after one day , wait the whole day , staff keeping changing ( I guess they are all casual staff , until second

  • Valyn White

Amazing staff. Amazing services. I'd even give the hospital food the thumbs up. Had our second child here. Just make sure you're with Telstra or buy a Telstra prepaid SIM if you're staying here otherwise you won't get reception!

  • Wang Stracyss

Thank you for the professional service and genuine care during the delivery process and hospital stay period. Annabelle, Sisly and Asheley are providing extra care to us and would recommend to our friends and families~~~

  • Ewa C

Great staff, especially nurse Melissa who assisted in getting me ready for my surgery. Everyone made sure I was going home with enough supplies which was great because I didn't need to worry about anything afterwards!

  • Belinda Robbins

Had my first son here and am booked to have my second here in a few months. We had a great experience, staff were wonderful and helpful and we were made very comfortable here. Couldn't recommend this hospital enough!

  • James

Currently under renovation/extention. Was clean and quite. Rooms looked good. Had a coffee shop in the entry but closed when we visited. McDonald's on the corner to entertain young children when they get restless.

  • Wendy Gaylord

Only good things to say. Had surgery in February 2023 and they could not have made it an easier experience. I was amazed at the short wait time from admission to surgery. Staff was really kind and friendly.

  • Ev Trap

My 4yr old daughter and I stayed overnight as she had to have surgery and I was so impressed with how clean everything was and the staff were all amazing. The doctors and nurses were excellent. Thank you

  • Bourke

Absolutely horrible experience, have to wait 2 hours for a booked surgery.Staffs are horrible and discriminatory, they don’t even communicate well between themselves and blame it all on the patient.

  • Dear Amanda

Most of staff are friendly, but one staff is very rude. I can’t remember her name but she was very rude to me when I was just after C-section. I will not chose Waverly private again because of her.

  • Jan Robinson

Lovely to walk in to such a friendly environment. I had Day Surgery, everyone was helpful and I felt well cared for. The hospital was very clean, it was a pleasure, thank you Waverley Private.

  • marcelle yoxon

Care and compassion in a time of need is what I received during my stay at Waverley private hospital. Thank you to all the staff and medical team for their support and professionalism.
