My girls have been at Weeden Heights Primary School for over 6 years now and they love it! The staff are dedicated and approachable, the students are settled and engaged in their learning, there is a wonderful community spirit and all staff, including the principal know every child by name. Academically the school is very strong and they offer a fantastic range of programs including art, steam, performing arts, french and a kitchen garden program with cooking lessons, a veggie garden and chickens. The learning outcomes are excellent but there is also a real focus on wellbeing and developing the ‘whole child’. The school grounds are beautiful and once the renovation works are done it will look and feel even better. We could not be happier with our choice and highly recommend the school.
Great school and dedicated staff. My son is very happy and engaged there. Beautiful grounds and once the new renovations are done, it will be even better. It has a smaller student cohort and that is very attractive to us, as we don't want our son to be lost amongst literally hundreds of kids. We also love the focus on not only academic outcomes but on students as a whole, from the garden with chickens, to the kitchen, art, music and performance programs through to the after/before school care being run by the school directly. The principal knows every child by name and has a strong focus on leading the kids to be the best they can be and this has led to an inclusive environment.
I have my seven year old going into year two this year and my 5 year old starting prep in two weeks time. Weeden is truly a great primary school, its got a sense of community spirit that we couldn't find when we toured any other schools. There is so much space for all the kids to play and learn, and the quality of the education is amazing. Kylie is a wonderful principle who really drives the school in such a positive way, and all of the teachers are brilliant. I couldn't recommend the school more highly and we are very happy to have our kids at weeden.
I am a teacher at this school and my children also go here. It is an absolutely beautiful school; the grounds are lovely and the staff are very nurturing and ensure to cater for each and every child's needs within their classroom. The school community is very close and supportive of each other and always welcoming to new families. When kids are happy and supported in their schooling they thrive and often great academic results follow.
I love this school, small with a big heart. Teachers and staff are all friendly and supportive. My eldest son studied at Weeden and he's a kid with special needs, but he felt very welcome and respected, whenever my son gets a chance to attend family gatherings (two other son studies at Weeden) he always wants to come back and reminiscent of the fun and good times he had during his times at Weeden.
My child went to this school from grade 3, and it was one of the best decision I've made. The principal, Kylie, is great, especially when handling the COVID-19 situation. As I could imagined it put a lot of stress on the principal and staffs, she's been keeping us informed on all the updates in a timely manner, and was very positive throughout. I think she has handled it very professionally.
Best school in town! Great atmosphere, great teachers, staffs & principal. Most of the staffs know every single student in the school. Especially principal, she know every single student by their name as well as their parents too. My son had difficulties in learning. His class teachers found out and they supported & guided as per his ability to learn. Which made a massive change in himself.
Weeden Heights is a brilliant choice that we made for our son. Exactly what we want for our son, small but with a big heart. Very supportive and friendly teachers, my son enjoys studying at Weeden Heights, and my little girl want to grow faster, to go to the same school as her brother did. Hope the new student and new families will feel the same as we do.
My cousin goes here. All I can say is the staff are exceptional. While Weeden Heights is a small school in numbers it punches above its weight in terms of the experience it offers kids. All the extra curricular activities my cousin has taken part in makes me wish they offered this sort of thing when I was in primary school.
My son goes to this school and we are very happy with the school. Friendly teachers & staff, great community. Plenty of space for kids to play. Quality of teaching and education is very good. Kudos to the team for adapting very well and managing during Covid times. Would highly recommend this school.
My son moved to Weeden Heights from grade 2. He is now in high school and my daughter is in grade 5 currently. My kids love the school and the staff. The academics are amazing as well. I'm so glad I made the decision to put my kids in this school!
Love the school's community spirit and how involved the kids are with the school activities. My son has a big turnaround moving from a bigger school and he loves being in Weeden and being part of the community.
We looked at a number of primary schools but we were so impressed with what Weeden Heights had to offer. They haven’t let us down, the teachers are great and my son is loving it there.
We have two children at the school and they have enjoyed each year. All the teachers are lovely and the kids enjoy the extra activities like Kitchen Garden program.
I love the close knit community feel, the beautiful grounds and the wonderful teachers at this school. My son is absolutely thriving in his first year there.
