I bought my first truck from Westar last month ,and i was far from impressed my salesman was Keith Dusting .I had explained that i needed a small truck that i could drive on a car licence , i was shown a truck in the yard and things went from there ,i was never shown inside the truck .When i was told the price of the towbar ,i said that it sounds very expensive, Keith called the sales manager to explain ,instead of explaining that the price included an electric brake controller they left me sitting alone while they both went into an office and spoke privately, on return i was advised to get my own towbar .What did they say that they couldnt say in front of me ? I agreed to buy the truck for the advertised price with no extras .On 31/3 i was at the dealership signing papers and was expecting to take delivery ,thats why the delivery date says 31/3 , i asked Keith if someone could follow me to my house in the truck ,he explained that the truck was being detailed and getting a full tank of diesel .Then he disappeared out the back and just left me standing alone in the dealership ,why didnt he just say that the truck wouldnt be ready for delivery until the following week ? He never returned, and after a while the finance manager came out and explained that finance was pending and to come back next week (even though the first direct debit came out exactly 28 days from the 31/3 ) . I took delivery of the truck on 8/4 not 31/3 just look at the registration date . I was given a gift pack which contained a smart looking vest it was too small ,when i explained this to a dark haired lady at the dealership she went and spoke to the sales manager she returned with a different vest that was still too small ,i was told that it will have to do because thats all they have ,then after i get my own towbar fitted by their fitter for the same price Keith had quoted i took the paperwork to Vic Roads and they informed me that the truck was registered as a heavy vehicle and that i couldnt drive it on my licence .The energetic vibe out the back is totally different to the sombre uninviting front of the business .Its hard to understand that the back of the business is so much better than the front ,since the front is the first port of call when buying a truck .I am very happy with my truck .I am not happy with the way i was treated .I rang the front desk plenty of times to speak to Keith and was given the brush every time .That front sales section needs a complete overhaul or at the very least some training .

I have been getting my truck serviced by Westar from new for 21 years while living about 90 minutes away. I updated it in December 2022 purely for one reason, that being my relationship with Michael Porter. Michael has never let me down and always goes the extra mile to get things sorted. To be honest, the service team led by Scott have been brilliant, friendly and I feel they have always given me the right advice. Even though I feel my truck may be considered a Tonka toy by some, I have always received the same level of service and been made to feel like a valued customer. Thanks again Michael, you're a star.

Severely Understaffed and overbooked, told pickup 12pm on Saturday, had to wait an hour until 1pm in truck lounge for truck to be ready, truck lounge coffee machine out of order, so tried the bottle water but it tasted funky like slime, checked the bottle it was packed three years ago and BB date was may 2022 have had sore guts since drinking it, staff that were there were very friendly and professional, it’s a shame they don’t have the support needed from such a big company that charge top dollar for there services.

Brilliant Service all Around with Westar Truck Derrimet i ordered new Truck with them a year ago Truck was delayed i spoke to Paul Cooper Sales Manager he Organised Loan Truck for me in the meantime for Free was Awesome. I could have been in tough situations with Rentals as Rents are sky heigh these days. Secondly Finance Manager Ian Schmidt is very Very Good and finally Ian Sales Person was Very Friendly and cooperative. It was a Great Experience with Westar Truck. 5 Star Rating

Stopped in at Westar Truck Centre to get some repairs done on a small truck whilst on an interstate run from Sydney. They were able to fit me in at 3pm the same day before a public holiday long weekend and the issue was sorted that day. not bad, service could be better as made me wait 20 min for a sales rep, but the guy they ended up giving me was pretty good and honest. I walked in and was prepared to buy 100k worth of trucks on the spot, not sure if they knew that ahead of time whether or not it would have made a difference.

I purchased a Isuzu truck from Westar Derrimut which included one year FREE servicing as a part of the deal. Westar have tried and refuse to honour the contracted agreement. I would not trust any deal done with this company and will be taking legal action. CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

Staffing issues Things that should be simple like preparing an invoice take ages Service advisors are friendly but they don’t call back . If you are happy to take your truck to some one who cannot remove and balance a wheel this might be the ok for you !

Stay away from them. Bought a Western Star agi truck from them 6 months ago. Had a problem with the 2nd steer tyres, which they changed it first time. After 2months the problem was still there. Now they saying they can't do much about it.

Keep away from this place. Very unethical and unproffessional. Charged more than $800 for labour for not doing anything. Did not fix original issue but caused additional electric faults. Refused to give reasoning for the charge, stated

Absolutely A1 useless. Truck went in for service and 5th wheel was dry. Trucks come put of there in an un-roadworthy condition. Once mine came out from a service and i had to top the engine oil up after a 80 km drive.
