Absolutely terrible treatment. .asked about buying a parrot and said my concern about the new one being able to get on with my parrot... she said put the cages next to each other..i said of course i would do that first but what if they don't like each other,? She said "you better make sure they do" How? They dont allow to bring the parrot back...so basically want to sell the pet and not care about his wellbeing what so ever ..then she said about 3 times put cages next to each other..i said yeah i understand...i might be non British origin person but i am not stupid and no need to keep saying the same thing over and over...also they didn't know what sex was the parrot they had on sale Well thats very important information if i want to.pair it with mine..how could they not know what sex pet are they selling?? Just rude and patronizing treatment...very disappointed..not to mention one of their parrots was basically bold and definitely in distress:((( i would never even consider buying a bird but...I rescued one from the street so wanted to make his life as good as i could by buying him a companion..will keep on looking.

The business owners at this place are unknowledgeable and accuse customers of being rude when the staff make mistakes and don't want to be held accountable. Spoke to both business managers and one was rude and hung up and the other wouldn't acknowledge that her partner had been rude and lied and instead accused me of calling the wrong pet shop and making a mistake! Avoid at all costs you will get better service at pets at home and thats saying something! **EDIT IN ANSWER TO RESPONSE** You are fully aware I was not rude or abusive... at no point did I raise my voice you just didn't like the fact I proved that your staff had lied... but your response will show others to avoid you... must be the same staff members other reviewers have warned against. Your responses to myself and others show you do not hold accountability for mistakes you and your staff make and that is a big red flag with any business *** to any potential customers avoid because if something goes wrong or they make a mistake you will be left with rude unhelpful staff and management! Zero stars if I could

I'm all about supporting local businesses but it's such a mixed experience in here. Sometimes it's great, other times it just feels frosty and unwelcoming, like you're getting in the owners way. I get running your own business is probably quite stressful but come on, a smile and a how are you doing, can I help you with anything? goes a long way. I went in with my kid and most places interact with him and you would think a pet shop would want to encourage young people to be pet owners but...nothing. Frankly I prefer the impersonal nature of the internet or even Pets 4 Home! Just be more welcoming and consistent, there's a lot of competition out there....

I love this pet shop but however the lady with short blond hair Bob. Can be a little rude doesn’t have a nice warming feeling about her. And that reason I avoid going only when Im desperate just in case she’s in. Shes got a serious grumpy look in her face and keeps the conversation very short seem like she doesn’t like to talk for long so you can see she’s getting fed with loads of questions. However the others are really welcoming and will happily speak to you all day long, and actually helps you. The groomers at the back are loving and very friendly always smiling and saying hello There is a younger girl on shop floor in early 20s she is so lovely :)

really great shop, has lots of supplies for gerbils, birds, bunnies, as well as dogs and cats. probably not the best store for if you are looking for lizard supplies. if you are looking to adopt an animal from here, (I adopted 2 gerbils) make sure that you ask about how they have been handled, as I believe that mine were not handled before I adopted them and they have become a very difficult case, also the person taking them out to give them to me, picked the gerbils up by their tails, something which mustn't be done. overall very good service and brilliant for supplies, but I advise looking to breeders if you are looking to adopt.

I thought I’d take my little dog for a walk to this shop to buy her a treat. There was a German Shepard off the lead which belongs to either the owner or a member of staff. It wasn’t being watched and it wouldn’t leave my dog alone. The more my dog cowered away the more the dog would tower over her, there was no tail wagging. It didn’t feel right to me either. I had to ask who the dog belonged to and could it please be taken away from us. The owner didn’t apologise and even seemed moody about it. I came away a bit shaken of what could have happened between the dogs. Unfortunately I won’t be going there again.

For a start, the prices are awesome & a large variety of animals & equipment. They've got a very amusing parrot, Rolie, who is worth coming in to look at, even if you're just passing by. We were looking for a new pet bird & needed some advice, which was offered very thoughtfully & generously by the lady working there. We took up a lot of her time, but left very confidently & I will definitely use this shop in the future to add to our family!

I love this shop, not least because it's àlways been, a really interesting place to be. As usual, the staff were very helpful, and the parrot, Rolly, is something like the 5th representative of the long line of his family, to be incumbent in the shop, and he is much loved by staff, and me and others. PS - there are a good, healthy number of other also...

Not a specialist shop and quite expensive. They sell some good products at reasonable prices. But They will help you choose, order in large bulk items, and offer a free delivery over twenty pounds to locals. It's an independent shop that's been there for at least 20 years. They have a big Parrot who is worth a visit.....

I love the friendly vibe of this place, the excellent range of cat and dog supplies they stock, and the generous Loyalty Discount they offer to regular customers. Sometimes I go just to check in with the parrots and small furry things. Visiting Whites never fails to put me in a good mood. The staff are lovely too.

Great prices for hay and good range available. Lots of nice treats for rabbits, and friendly staff. A great option close to me as not a lot of shops sell hay and great if you want to shop local and not use large corporations. I always pick up a packet of Whiskas temptations on special offer too for my cat.

A locally owned and operated business in Sydenham. A very wide range of pet accessories at competitive prices, backed up by friendly and knowledgeable staff who always have a smile. The animals kept at Whites are well looked after, and very obviously loved as much more than a sellable item

Now this is the best pet store I've ever visited competitive prices and all good quality food for your pet also they can deliver to your door if need be normally by Diane or Karen or both lovely people and i agree with a review by Mr Payne don't make false assumptions if you know nothing

A very friendly, efficient and always helpful staff...The shop has a wide variety of animal foods and bedding, cages, and toys...They will order if not on shelves...The other great thing is they deliver to your door free....Helps the elderly a great deal...plus us with big orders.....

Friendly, fairly priced and efficient - especially at enforcing Covid rules. They insist you keep your distance, wear a mask and use the hand gel. On the other hand they accept cash. They have what our cat loves too such as cat grass and cat milk! Good for them!

Great pet store. Their products are always fresh and superior quality. We can see how Rocky immediately goes for the yak chews from here, as opposed to from Pets at Home. The ser ice is really friendly and they know a lot about dogs and give great advice.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, clear layout and easy access to all products. During covid all staff wore PPE and took the restrictions seriously which I respect. Also, there is a 20 year old parrot who speaks to you as you walk past, brilliant!

Very good service, friendly and polite staff. I buy my aquarium plants there and the weed is always fresh and lasts well. They have a variety of pets to offer and they are all very well looked after. I can highly recommend this very well run pet shop.

I contacted by phone and the young lady who answered kept me on hold for 10 mins just to answer one question.. Is there a service that clips dogs nails here and is she in today.. I've used the pet supplies before and never had a problem.

visited the shop very frequently before moving away to pick bits and bobs up for my cat, the staff have always been lovely especially a staff member called Abi if my memory serves me well, would recommend to anyone in the area!

Unfortunately the shop didn’t have what I was after (a cat scratch post!). However the staff was very polite explaining there was a shortage and are really hard to get hold off at the moment.
