This restaurant is a hidden gem offering private home cuisine which is the best treatment for home sickness. Aside from the food on the menu, Chef Wing is ready to treat us with all types of great food as we desire. First dish was a Shunde dish called Dalong fried fresh milk which was sauteed egg white with milk and scallops. Even though the ingredients looked simple, but getting the egg whites to become delicate clouds of soft fluffy white curds required years of experience. Second dish was Cumin lamb fillet which was tender and juicy while the spice complement the lamb flavour. The lamb was served with a fragrant fried rice which was not oily. This was followed by a seared eye fillet with a spicy Sichuan sauce. The sauce was intense and exploded on my palette without overwhelming the beef flavour. Lastly we finished with a sago pudding with red bean paste. Even though this is a new restaurant, the service was excellent and everything was done smoothly. It also attended to details which was not commonly seen in Chinese restaurants, such as preheating the serving plates and changing wine glasses in between wines. Overall we had an excellent dinning experience.

Traditional Cantonese cuisine. Throughly enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. They have a standard menu in English and a special menu in Mandarin. We ordered from the special menu. The deep fried river prawns & peanuts with spicy salt was crispy, flavourful and every part edible including the head and tail. The beef brisket was one of the best we’ve had. The crab meat cooked with egg white and milk was a well prepared delicate dish. The spinach soup was nice but felt a bit too starchy towards the end. Will go back to try their 8 treasure duck which requires advance notice. Overall, very happy with the food. Advisable to make a booking as there was only 1 person serving on the Wednesday night that we were there. Not sure if additional staff are put on for busy times.

Edit 15/7 The partner and I went for round two last night and can confirm consistency in this Cantonese perfection. We ordered pretty much the same again with the addition of a Honey Chicken; light on batter, crunchy fried noodle, perfectly cooked chicken. We love Wing, and the owners are lovely. ——————————————————————- Huge regrets for not dining at Wing earlier, they’ve been open for a year. Started with a round of chicken, pork dim sum. Made fresh in 20 minutes. Delicious. It was suggested we try the BBQ Pork. Delicious. I’ve chasing the perfect salt and pepper king prawn for 7 years, since moving back in to Melbourne. Found it. The wagyu beef and black bean the real deal, fried rice perfect. Ashamed to say we’ve walked past Wing so many times, it is so unassuming. The best Cantonese/Chinese on Bourke Rd, without the fuss.

Amazing Cantonese fine dining experience at family restaurant price. The refined dining experience wasn't just in the presentation but also in the choice of ingredients. The tender beef tendon /brisket noodles was cooked with high quality mandarin skin [chun pee], a high value ingredient that is rare outside of Hong Kong when it is this high a quality. The oyster pancake is better than that of Wan Chai's Fook Lam Moon known as Hong Kong's "cafetaria of the wealthy " . This is a chef who knows quality ingredients and cooks with his heart. I look forward to returning to try their tasting menu. The owners have exquisite taste in decor. The paintings on the walls are from actual famous Chinese Ling Nam artists. The lady of the house is an accomplished Chinese opera singer who happened to be close friends of professors of Hong Kong University.

Best meal in our Melbourne trip. We haven't had authentic and fine Chinese food for a long time, and I can assure that you can't find anything as flavoursome yet cooking from heart anywhere in Australia. The chef Allan not only has the skills and intuition in cooking special gourmet food such as double broiled fish maw in fresh milk dessert, his Chinese home-cooking style dish such as steamed fish / deep fried oyster are also equally delicious. I would highly recommend this place for special occasion to celebrate or any casual dining experience. If I could, I would add a few more extra stars to the ratings

Came here for dinner and had a nice warm welcome. Had the fish broth soup which was tasty, hot with a creamy texture. The beef brisket ribs was melt in your mouth and meat was falling off the bone. And the eggplant with chicken was soft and tender. All claypot dishes complemented well with steamed rice and all delicious. Finished off with banana fritters which was perfectly and lightly fried. Although it's slightly pricey, we left feeling like we had a lovely home cooked meal. Will be back to try more dishes. Note that fish dish needs to be pre ordered 1-2 days in advance.

This was genuinely scrumptious food! Waiting the 20mins for the freshly made dim sims was worthwhile and because we had been warned, no problem. Satay chicken, fried rice and Mongolian Lamb were all beautiful with fresh vegetables and tender meat. The service was great too. Attentive without hovering. Thank you so much. Your yummy food and kind service were much appreciated. We will be back!

Authentic Cantonese cuisine with a fine dine experience. Every dish , we can tell the chef is making it with heart. I like the fact that it's not rushed like every other bigger Chinese restaurants and we can sit there and talk plus enjoying the food. The free range chicken is a must try and needs to be pre order.. Look forward to my next visit.

Went for dinner with the family in July 2022. Food and service was fantastic. Peking Duck spring rolls were great. The prawns in ginger and spring onion were really nice and the sauce was great. No too over powering. The wagu beef was extremely tender. Highly recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a great quality chinese meal. The venue is licensed plus BYO wine.

Delicious food and exceptional service. The home made Dim sims and Peking Duck are among the best around and it’s best to pre order them before arriving. The vegetarian spring rolls are also exceptional.

Outstanding. Best Cantonese/Chinese i have had in years. Satay chicken was cooked to perfection, not overdone & the Mongolian lamb (backstraps) was to die for. Dim sims were cooked to order & the pork was as succulent as you could get. Great value & delicious food, coupled with knowledgeable & friendly service. Amazing experience.

Love this place with awesome authentic Cantonese cuisine. What a hidden gem we have here in Camberwell. At Wing Gourmet, delicious food is served with passion and no msg used in any of Allan's cooking. I enjoyed the friendly and homely service from Loli as well. This is definitely my all time favourite.
