The positive reviews here contributed to our decision to go with Winkworths recently so I wanted to share our experience for balance. We recently put our two bedroom flat in Telegraph Hill on the market. We're aware this is a super volatile time for the market; buyers are understandably nervous and there are lots of other reasons why a sale might not be as straightforward as at other times. So we were prepared things might be tricky. We met with a few different agents but Paul from Winkworths made a very strong case that he was the person to sell it for us, following up to let us know he had sold nearby flats for good prices. Convinced, we agreed to sign up with them. When we listed the property, they sent round an agency photographer to photograph the flat. I won't bore everyone with the details but despite very clear communication from me that I could move whatever he needed at any point, the photographer took several shots and the 360 video with a load of random bags and storage in shot. These photos weren't really usable, and this meant we lost any angles of a really nice feature in the flat as they didn't have any alternative takes. The first weekend we had three viewings booked. The agent doing the viewings apparently didn't check her emails the day before and didn't realise that we weren't going to be in. This wouldn't have been a problem as we had left keys at the office, but she was also late, not leaving enough time to go back and get them. As a result, by the time she retrieved the keys, we lost two of the three viewings. Afterwards, she gave us feedback from one of the people who wasn't able to view inside the property that they thought the road was too noisy. This is totally fair enough, apart from the fact that our flat is actually much quieter inside than you would expect from the road it's on (something Paul had commented on when he visited as a good selling point) and if they had seen inside this would have been apparent. The fact she thought this was useful feedback under the circumstances was really confusing to us. Since then, we have had zero viewings. We had one scheduled but cancelled at short notice for unknown reasons. So that's one viewing in an entire month it's been on the market. We recently spoke to Pedder, who have a similar property two doors down from us currently on the market at a comparable price, and they had three viewings just last weekend. Despite being impressed with Paul on meeting him, and being convinced by his spiel that they could do a good job, I couldn't honestly recommend this experience to anyone else. We'll be re-listing with a different agent now, and the whole thing just feels like a waste of everyone's time.

Had 3 different experiences from different agents James very professional and tried to help me find a place *5 stars One young lady could not get me in on time and professionally cancelled. However, one women (fish) booked my appointment I had a feeling I could not rely on her after she said I give everyone an equal opportunity something in the tone made hesitate. passed by after work to check all was set for the Saturday viewing and found out from some random colleague the flat had gone and even worse his snotty response was you won't find another at that price. To the manager with the sweet dog time to keep the gold standard workers and get rid of the fish! I think it is the same person upsetting people. If you need to cancel just cancel but ghosting people come on!!!

I have been doing business with Winkworths New Cross since 2001. They have looked after the sale of 3 properties for me and performed full management on 2 others, one of which they managed for 16 years. The latest sale completed recently was an example of their perseverance and professionalism in a difficult market. Over many years the tenants they found for me were without exception reliable, often renewing their tenancies. The sale of property is handled with a minimum of fuss but regular updates. There is always a welcome at their office if you want to pop in for a chat as a client. I recommend the whole team highly(including the 2 doggie's who do the meet and greet when you open the door!!)

I recently sold my 3 bedroom house through the Winkworth's office in New Cross. I was abroad for the most part but the staff at Winkworth took care of everything. They were well organised and very pro-active in finding viewers, but were not 'pushy'...planning all the visits with respects for the needs of my pregnant goddaughter who was residing at the property. They kept me updated regularly through whatsapp. Saun, the Branch Manager demonstrated great integrity in advising me throughout, so that I feel I sold well. I am also grateful for Jo's help particularly towards the end process, chasing the buyer's solicitor, who was dragging his feet and securing a speedy completion date...

Mauro at Winkworth Forest Hill has been looking after the sale of our property, and we couldn't be happier with the service we've received so far. This review is in addition to one I left earlier this year. Ursula was extremely helpful and quick to react to address a stressful change of tenants a few months ago. From dealing with the departing tenants' forgotten responsibilities to fixing all the wrongs as a matter of urgency, with only a few days to play with, so the new tenants would be unaware and would not suffer as a result. Ursula's help and support to me at this stressful time, excellent communications and fast problem-solving was invaluable. Great Service from a Great Team I have used Winkworth New Cross branch for a couple of years now to market, rent out and manage one of my properties. Overall I have found their service to be excellent. There have been issues with the property (which is normal), but they have been resolved well and amicably. Their processes are very efficient, always reply promptly to emails and keep me updated regarding the condition of the property. Their ongoing professionalism is admirable and very much appreciated.

wouldn’t even rate it a 1 star. Very unprofessional, my partner and I had an appointment at 3:30pm today to view a property and our estate agent didn’t even bother turning up for the appointment. We did not receive a phone call to let us know where he is. We waited outside for 30mins and still no phone call so we decided to leave. Winkworth manager, please have a word with your staff. An incompetent bunch of people. James and Ebony in particular taking the prize. Priding themselves in making the simplest task difficult. No coordination among staff at all, dozens of the same emails sent , having to respond the same points over and over again. Passive aggressive and generally rude demeanour. No adherence to housing laws and tenant rights with unannounced visits . Reported to the council on 4 occasions. If you’re a slumlord this is your place !

I was delighted with the service I got from winkworth New Cross. I was a first time buyer and my purchase had a number of unforeseen complications. My estate agent Jo was available to answer any questions I had throughout and always kept me up to date in a professional and Clam manner . Extremely disappointing. Reserved a viewing with them for a house a month ahead. Told them we are 2 full-time working people and one international student with a guarantor. They reserved us a spot. Got a call from them just two days before the viewing, canceling us beforehand because one of us is a student. Couldn’t have been mentioned 20 days ago when we were agreeing on this? Absolutely unreliable agency.
