Xanadu will always have a special place in my heart - it’s a great gathering space where everyone is welcome. Stopped by early this morning for a breakfast sandwich and a cortado. I haven’t had a cortado this good in Phoenix in a while! The spro at Xanny is the best in the valley (2nd place going to Moxie). The place was packed at 7am and it was cool to see all the different kinds of people that love Xanadu like I do. If you haven’t been or if Xan has been on your list for a while - it is absolutely worth the stop. If you don’t know, Randy (the owner), is a champion of the coffee community in Phoenix. He’s a humble guy so he might not brag but I will brag for him. He always goes out of his way to support other new and upcoming shops. I really appreciate how encouraging he is to other shop owners and how ready he is to educate others. And, there’s a reason why the staff stays at Xanadu! Randy and the managers (Brooklyn and Adrian) work hard to create a space where quality and connection is their highest value. The prices are incredibly reasonable, everything is so good and they have a unique menu, I could go on and on. Hurry! Check it out so you can love it as much as I do.

I love Xanadu. This place has great single origin coffees as well as wonderful blends. They're one of the best local roasters in my opinion and I enjoy the fruity African coffees most. The Loaded 'Wich is great and we're a big fan of their Nutella croissant as well. They don't offer food on Mondays and Tuesdays currently due to short staff and so they can prep but otherwise it's available. Their hours also changed recently to reflect their staffing struggles. The interior seating is a little cramped but the music is good and staff are friendly. If you need to read a book or something quiet you might want to get a study room at the library. There is outdoor seating available and a handi accessible ramp in the back.

This is by far my VERY FAVORITE coffee shop in Phoenix! Their coffee is amazing and I also love the sparkling tea they have on tap - delicious and refreshing. The baristas are so friendly and fun; they remember my and my kid's favorites and greet us with smiles and conversation when we come in. The building is eclectic with the cool mural on the side and all the plants and the warm decor. It's a great place to hang out. There's even a pokestop attached if you care about such things. The pastries are delicious! We love the breakfast sandwiches, the everything roll, the cinnamon roll, the quiche.....so good. Many local Roosevelt Row and Grand Ave arts district restaurants use Xanadu coffee and we like to buy bags of it to take home. They are very open, liberal and LGBT friendly. They don't accept tips, because they pay the baristas a higher wage and I believe they can even become part owners if they work there long enough. The owner is extremely friendly- we've met and chatted with him on multiple occasions and he's a very cool down to earth guy. Definitely try this place – you'll love it! ❤️☕️‍

Today we had an early morning appointment in DTPHX. We needed a pick me up and the kids were a gettin a little hangry. Xanadu was right up the street from Blok Photo Studio where we were meeting Jim Fury Hesterman for a totally sweet family photo shoot. Low and behold I ran into the whole team. Jessica Bueno, Randy Denton and Kevin Rosales are the triad of flavor and modern euro cafe masterpieces of social entrepreneurs. I ordered the black, iced cold brew. I like it extra bitter, strong and dark like my soul… and then I spied the vegan Japanese Curry bun. Ericka and Kamila shared the Ham and cheese and the chaga drink and Rian ordered a butter croissant. The Japanese Curry was OFF. THE. HOOK! I’ve missed this since I lived in Thailand. Not many places offer that unique flavor. I debacles a few bites of the ham n cheese from my daughter and washed it down with the smooth, dark, bold cold brew de Randy. I’ll be back and Im bringing the fam! Not a threat a promise!

I was very pleasantly surprised by this spot. The service was very friendly, and even though the space is tiny, they make the most of the inside with the space they do have. I wouldn’t recommend this spot for trying to get work done. I feel like you will have to fight for a spot/outlet. A lot of the seating is hard metal barstools with no back or support, which got uncomfortable about 2 minutes, I can’t imagine trying to work for hours in that position. That being said, there’s not very much parking and it makes this location inconvenient for a grab and go coffee. Other than that, this was a great spot with a super creative menu. Their iced sunrise is an absolute treat!

This place is special despite the grips of coffee shops I have visited in Phoenix. I love this spot. Its a tiny creative little joint and knows what the F is up! The coffee is just what I would dream up if I had coffee dreams. Its pleasant, balanced, and sits perfect on my sofisticated coffee palate. Breakfast sandwhiches are a must! The basic need I say more... I definitely will. Like holy bun masters!! The best everything bun that I've ever come across. A load of farm fresh egg and cheese that melts on that fluffy pillow. Its PERFECT! I've had an iced oatmeal cookie and boy did it bring me to tears from childhood memory. I'm happy they exist. A place like this puts passion back into my life. They do it well, very well! Thanks skilled people of Xanadu. Thank you for being here in Phoenix.

Well thank you Xanadu Coffee Co.! Today my friend and I had a great experience here! We were greeted quickly and with such welcoming energy! They were fun, funny and they provided great customer service! I loved their Americano and I did taste their everything cream cheese roll which was so delicious! My friend had their cream cheese roll while I had their cinnamon roll, also delicious. I even saw where they roast their own beans! I loved the inside feel and look to their cafe and appreciated that they had water readily available. Parking is located in the back with the entrance and exits for vehicles separated from one another, making it easy to come and go. I will be back for sure!

Cute little coffee spot in the downtown area. To the chef who made my vegan tofu sandwich today - great job! The silky smooth tofu marinated with minimum spices, avocado smash, tiny bit of mayo and that thinly sliced tomato - all of this with that vegan English muffin - everything was just . Cortado was good too. They also had some seasonal coffee / chai options. Definitely recommend checking this spot out if you are around.

My original post: "They used to have one of the best cold brews in the valley. Changed the beans and it's really sour. I tried the nitro and it's similar. Please go back! Staff is great." My response to the owner's response: I was told not to come back for leaving a 3 star review so I won't be going back. As I already stated before, friendly and nice staff and they used to have a great product. The baristas even told me they didn't like it and would probably switch back. Try it for yourself and see. Never thought I would get in a Google review conversation with a company but here goes. It hasn't been a week on your changed product. I had it on 2/28 and it was the same taste then too. If your staff says it's not good, why not trust them?

Had an appointment I was early for and was looking for a coffee spot to sit down and relax. Right off the main bustling street, but once you step inside it's very calm and serene. All of the hustle and bustle seems to just go away. Parking in back, plenty of seating, staff was extremely nice and pleasant. Choices of coffees, teas, pastries to snack. Alternative milk for folks. Feel like it's a hidden gem in plain view for everyone.need to find more of a reason to come to this part of Phoenix to just unwind oh and the coffee of course. And yes wifi, tables and plugs for folks to work, study, zone out whatever it may be.

Services was great. It has a really nice setup...appears to own all three spaces/house next to each other: roasting, kitchen, and coffee & small selection bake goods/food. Nice open space with plenty of tables and parking (in back)...not the flip side: it's right off the main road...can get pretty noisy. I went in on a Sunday AM...food selection was limited, not much pastries, some choices on Breakfast sandwiches. I order the everything-wich and a reg drip coffee. But for whatever reason it didn't do it for me...

Fun specialty coffee shop with their own roasted beans in a fun little house type building off 7th street. Your coffee quality here will certainly be higher quality than from a chain coffee store. Park and enter from the back of the building. Seating options are available and good music is playing. They offer free Wifi and outlets. Tips are included in the pricing but remain similar to other comparable coffee shops. They offer pastries, all sorts of espresso-based drinks, pour-over coffee, and cold brews. If you don't already buy fresh roasted coffee beans for home, get yourself a quality burr grinder and try the beans they sell on the counter!

  • Marshie B Cakes

Xanadu is that B! Cozy, welcoming and laid-back, you will want to make Xanadu your GO-TO coffee spot. The baristas are on top of their game & are so freaking nice. They use the best of the best. From the beans to the water (DRINK THE WATER!), you can tell Xanadu cares about coffee. If getting takeaway is your thing, you can order ahead on their website, run in, grab and go! My fave drink of the moment is the Soft Cider. It's a smooth seasonal creation that includes chai, apple cider, espresso & milk (oat!).

Because of the high reviews, photos and menus posted - I stopped in for a breakfast sandwich only to learn they don’t make them on Mondays or Tuesdays. Instead tried the everything cream cheese roll and iced chai. The roll was as fresh as perfection and believe it would be better as a sandwich; the beverage was nice. Simple, cute interior; mural on the exterior; and very nice customer service. If you’re seeking a stop for coffee/tea and/or a fresh sweet or savory treat - definitely worth a try.

Love the vibes here! Colourful ambience, lots of plants and wood, and funky art pieces! Perfect place to sit down for some creative inspiration! And their coffee is too damn good. Tried their in-house special iced Classic Pomo and hot chai latte and both hit it out of the park with how good they were! Definitely gonna make this a usual haunt!

My first time here today. I got the quiche; it was delicious and a good portion for the price. Not your average low quality over priced food item from coffee shops. It also came in a sustainable container with a sustainable fork. I also got the POMO, it was not overly sweet, which I love and it came with a compostable straw. I took a glance at their fridge as they opened it. They have good quality milk :) Also, they don’t let you tip, which must mean the baristas get paid well. Go support this amazing business!

Xanadu Coffee was open the earliest on the list of places to sign a petition to add abortion rights to our Arizona ballot THIS November (2022) on a Saturday morning for me to head towards downtown. After signing, I told them that's why I was there and ordered an iced chai latte with whole milk. As he was making my drink he said that we could also take an empty stack to get signatures in your neighborhood before July 7, 2022! The chai latte was exactly as he described, "like ice cream in a cup" and was perfect for a hot summer's morning!

  • Jena Esquivel

I'm so excited Xanadu has opened up in downtown PHX! It's a quick drive from my place, plenty of parking, and the interior is very instagrammable which makes me feel comfortable working there. Wi-fi works great even when I'm in my design programs and the natural daylight is healthy for my spirit :) The owner, Randy, is a sweetheart and has been in the scene for a long time - he works hard to do what he knows best. Looking forward to joining some events here soon like game nights or see some latte art throw downs/barista jams :)

  • Rupali Vohra

Their decaf latte tastes pretty weird and overly milky. Not a fan. EDIT - Updating 2 -> 3 stars for their offer to have me try a cortado for free (great service!). Unfortunately I am not in Phoenix regularly, so I won't be able to update the review based on the actual flavor of the drink. My usual drink is a 12 oz double shot decaf latte everywhere I go, which is what I ordered here. I stand by my review that the espresso tasted unusual in a displeasing way relative to what I've had at many other coffee shops.

Excellent coffee in a hip, colorful little spot. The baristas were very friendly and not at all judgy or snobby like some craft coffee spots can be. We’re visiting from Denver and asked the baristas for breakfast recommendations— they wrote us a whole list of food recommendations and things to do ☺️. Also! The price is inclusive of tip, so I paid $3.50 for drip including tip. A shop in Denver does the same thing but you pay over $5 for a drip there and the baristas are nowhere near as nice . Loved Xanadu— we’ll be back!

Very friendly baristas where it feels like extended family. They are knowledgeable about their beans! They don't need tips because they pay their workers fairly, which is basically the only reason for me to go back! Coffee is freakin fantastic. Free refills on the amazing coffee. Free oat milk with order on the side (they have the oat milk with a duck on it!). Board games! Playful aesthetics and environment all around. A small patio to enjoy. This will totally be my regular for coffee and studying.

  • Jake M

I have to admit I only came here because I love the song Xanadu by Electric Light Orchestra. I was actually hoping that they would be playing that song as I walked in. Spoiler alert it was not playing. But that's okay... the coffee and my experience there made up for it. The coffee I have there was great. I was staying at a hotel nearby and walked there three times that week. The staff was very friendly. It felt like a lot of regulars go there a lot. Or maybe just everybody was so friendly there.

  • D

I loved this place! Perfect place to sit and study and the coffee is really good and the employees here are amazing! Our barista was literally the sweetest and 100% the reason I’ll keep coming back. Great vibes and great coffee. I ordered the iced chimichanga and 10/10 would recommend if you’re looking to try something new.

This cafe has a lot of seating and a nice vibe and such friendly baristas. This rating is for the coffee only. I am really surprised people say $7 for a 12 oz latte is worth it for the quality here because both times now, I’ve thought the latte was very average. The espresso flavor is not strong enough, and their flavorings leave a bit of a strange aftertaste. It wasn’t a bad latte by any means. But it was average compared to other really good coffee places (in Phoenix, at least to two others).

  • Paige Weaks

How does this place not have more ratings? The coffee was insane, best I’ve had in Phoenix. Baristas are super friendly and chill. They have board games and donation areas (canned goods and women’s products). Its clear they both know what they’re doing coffee-wise and are committed to making Phoenix a better place.

Xanadu roasts their own coffee; great pastries, teas, & bites; interior is welcoming & perfect for a solo or group visit. Staff are knowledgeable, welcoming, and the owner pays staff a living wage above minimum wage with ownership in the business. Intentionally going above the average. Feels like a nice community space. The hours are convenient, especially as a traveler that needs a place to get coffee/snack near the airport before or after a flight. Highly recommended!

  • Michelle Le

Jalen the barista really made my experience at Xanadu worth it and I am definitely coming back because of how amazing he is at customer service but also as a conversationalist. Coffee is excellent. The vibe is good. The only thing I would like to see more of is outlets or extension cords!

I started coming here a few weeks ago and it's become my weekly habit. One of the best lattes that I've ever had and the vegan snicker doodle is awesome. The atmosphere and service are always stellar, it's nice to have a coffee shop to go to that is so welcoming and non pretentious. I recommend an oat milk latte with agave, or their blackberry sage tea I over ice.

First timer. The barista was nice and sweet and was extremely helpful with my order. I ordered two drinks: one matchata and one vegan chai iced. Both delicious by the way! The atmosphere is vibrant and warm welcoming. I recommend to any coffee/non-coffee enthusiast out there. Shout out to one of the workers that works there by the name of Clarissa Belmontes for recommending me this place!

Super vibey shop with phenomenal coffee. I had their Tanzanian blend in a hot americano. Very good size and price at 4.39. Also they’ve included gratuity into their cost which makes it that much better. The coffee was fruity, light and perfect with cream. Lots of front patio space filled with benches, seating, and even their own parking. Big plus for downtown, will definitely be back.

I was having a very rough day and the kindness of the staff and the lovely atmosphere of the shop turned it around completely. 5/5 stars will definitely be returning soon!

Top notch and perfectly finished latte. Bright with toasty notes, not a burnt dark roast you find at many chains and the perfect temperature. Coming from out of town if you’re nearby downtown this is worth a stop in. Excellent barista and warm atmosphere. Food ends at 11am. The biggest rarest surprise though is No Tipping! It’s all just included in the fair price.

Delicious pastries and cold brew! I visited today and was welcomed by a friendly masked barista. I ordered cold brew and pistachio chocolate croissant. Both were amazing! Very comforting place with very skilled staff. The barista also knows how to make an excellent cup of coffee. I appreciated that I was asked if I wanted my drink to stay or to go and when I said I wanted it to stay, they poured my coffee on a real mug. It seems a very small thing, but I believe it makes a lot of difference when drinking coffee.

This place needs to be known as a fixture of the downtown Phoenix coffee scene. Thank you for the attention to detail and making the macchiato exactly how I love it: with a side of sparkling water. This is where I like to meet with the movers and shakers in the community. You know what you're doing and it works so well for me. Thank you.

Find out if your local cafe has Xanadu beans, they are a popular local roast for good reason. Love the butter croissants here from a local French bakery. I classed it up with the single origin beans (pinky in the air), and didn't feel an overwhelming coffee buzz, nor any jitters or post-buzz negativity. Not all beans are created equal!

Saw all the positive reviews for Xanadu and had to give it a try. I ordered the caramel latte with oat milk but honestly thought my coffee had a somewhat disappointing flavor/weird aftertaste. Coffee aside, I loved the creative atmosphere this place has. Would be willing to visit again and try a different drink next time.

Loved, loved, loved this place. Our barista, Jaylyn (pictured) was amazing. His personality is perfect for what he does. Very interactive and genuinely sweet. The iced honey lavender latte with oat milk is a MUST!!! I will be going back. Thank you Jaylyn for making my experience so wonderful!!

Black medium roast coffee was delicious as was the nitro cold brew. Staff was super nice and knowledgeable! Atmosphere was relaxing. Definitely will be back!! They have coffee to purchase and they roast themselves.

This place brews fantastic coffee. Espresso is consistent - frothy and full of body. Avo toast is awesome, served on some sort of English muffin/everything bagel hybrid. Definitely my favorite coffee shop in the area. Go here!

Came in from out of town and came across this shop / roaster. Have to say it exceeded expectations on all fronts. I asked for more of a custom drink and the barista happily fulfilled the request. They also have a good selection of bean blends to choose from. Strongly recommend.

This place is a few blocks away from our hotel. We’ve gone two days in a row because the coffee is the best we’ve had while travelling. We plan on going the rest of the time we are in Phoenix. I’ve gotten an iced oat milk vanilla latte and my husband gets an iced chai.

  • Dallas Butrymowicz

Wow! The best hot cocoa I’ve ever had. The breakfast sandwich was also really good!

I waited inside for 10 minutes no one came to take my order and I was not able to find an employee. This place definitely needs to take a look at how they approach customer service, I will not be coming back

Loved the coffee, the service not so much, but what’s up with that sigil of baphomet sticker on your kitchen’s paper dispenser? Are you guys satanists?

Xanadu is one of my favorite places in Phoenix. It’s the coffee shop you’re probably looking for with plenty of dietary options. Best vibe around.

A gem. Friendly and knowledgeable staff (goes a long way in specialty coffee). I’ve been to a lot of shops visiting Phoenix and can confidently say the best espresso / Cortado yet is at Xanadu. (Pastries are legit as well)

  • Michael Brekke

Get your coffee here! Excellent beans and they pay their employees a living wage. I went to tip in solidarity (as I always do for service) and the barista tells me they don't accept tips and get a living wage instead. ♥️

I loved it! First time in today and looking forward to coming back. My cold brew was delish and the chocolate chip cookie was stupidly good. Friendly staff and a nice chill calm vibe inside. Parking in the back FYI.

  • L P

Its a nice enough spot but the parking is tricky to get into and out of in traffic. Its also nor very large so if you get there after people you might not find a spot to sit. The coffee is fine, but not incredible.

  • Ronny Dahl

Coffee bean selection was sparse. Only three different types. The people working there were super nice and the venue worked quite well too. Didn't eat there.

This place is so awesome on the inside and the coffee was amazing!!! Asked for a recommendation and the barista suggested a lavender mocha. And yuuuuuuum!! Will definitely be coming back anytime I'm in the area.

I don’t know how many times I’ve been here without telling them how great of a latte they serve me every time. I love this spot. For those who work here, thank you for being an awesome part of Garfield.

Walked in before closing, person infront of us took so long to make up their mind to order that it passed the closing time while we waited and then we got denied food even though we got there before

Solid. I like the Nutella croissant. Not too sweet. Their sparkling berry drink was meh. Vibes are nice but kinda small for any real studying.

As far as coffee and first impressions goes, I would have given Xanadu Coffee Co. 3 stars. Coffee tasted light and watered down. Staff and service were excellent which is why I’m giving a 4 star.

I had an almond milk latte, and it tasted more like water than espresso with milk in it. Human Bean makes weak drinks, too, but at least I can tell that there's espresso in the drink.

  • Aaron Cleavenger

Really great shop, excellent service, clean and of course great cold brew. The young man working was way above average in his kindness and service. Thank you for setting the bar high!

  • Jocelyn Lopez

Love the ambiance. Plenty of seating, the place is always spotless, customer service is always perfect and the drinks are really good. This place never fails. 10 out of 10 recommend

Some of the best coffee in Phoenix! They are very creative with their menu. Very cozy and chill atmosphere. I love all the plants in the shop plus super kind and friendly baristas.

  • Michaela Marler

Visited for the first time two days ago and went back again the very next day. Ordered a drink I normally wouldn’t, and it was the best cold coffee I’ve ever had. Gem of a place!

You haven’t lived until you try their brown butter peanut butter cookie. Also, their cortado is top shelf deliciousness and their seasonal soft cider chai latte is a must-try!
