I've been going to Ying Chows now for over 10 years. Was always a nice place to stop in and grab some Chinese food late on a weekend night. Last night at 10:50 pm I walked in there with my friend (with the sign saying Open and having googled the closing time, 1 am) looking to grab a table for two and order some food. As we walked in, I noticed there were plenty of tables free so assumed there wouldn't be any COVID issues from stopping us from sitting. As I walked in, the familiar face of the owner (well I assume he's the owner because he's always there) walked up and I lifted my fingers up saying "Table for two?" and he said "Oh we're closed now". We stopped abruptly and awkwardly went "Oh.. ok" And we turned around and left. I looked back at the door expecting him to walk up and change the sign from Open to Closed. And he didn't. We both thought this was a bit weird but decided we'd walk around looking for some other places to eat (which annoyingly there wasn't, since when did Gouger become a ghost town that early?). As we walked back pass again 2 hours later, we noticed the sign was still open and there appeared to be people who were sitting in there who weren't in there before. This of course was a bit perplexing to both of us. I have no idea why we were turned away. We weren't intoxicated and we were both dressed in clean decent attire. My friend who is of Arabian heritage said she thought we were turned away because of her skin colour. Now I don't think this is true but I'd be VERY curious to know what his reasoning was. A shame because I've eaten the E-Shand chicken there more than I can count, but this kind of experience has soiled my opinion of the place and I don't think I'll be returning any time soon. Would love to hear the reasoning for why we were turned away.... *Edit* their opening hours on google have since changed since this review. Perhaps a subtle way to avoid the comments in this review?

This can be a personal review, I have been to this restaurant as a customer many time for a long while, surely I haven't been very often but was consistant with my friends, family blah blah.. Food is great as always which I appreciate for, however the chubby lady with the glasses on, I find her very cocky. It seemed to be understandable few times in the beginning but its bothering me more and more as time goes.. she always acts like I'm annoying her when I ask for something from her. Today I went in there as a uber eats driver as I recently started to kill some of my spare time, take it as a little side job. As soon as I went in the restaurant, she straight up said your order is not ready.. like I barely even looked at her and haven't even said anything. Because if what I've seen her few times, it really annoyed alot this time like I kinda felt offended. And then I was like sorry? And she goes, uber? And just went into kitchen and came back telling me it's ganna take whatever time it's going to take. I didn't even get the chance to say anything I felt really bad and frustrated. The lady if you are reading this, I wanna tell you something. I have worked as a waiter, chef or even operated a food restaurant but from my perspective and experience, I feel like you are not really that ready to be a waitress. You seem like a boss or a daughter of the owner but I can say at least you have one person that is getting quiet frustrated at your service. Hope you can realize that.

Arrived at the restaurant at 5pm and ordered spring rolls whilst waiting for my friend. I was the only person in there. Spring rolls took 15 mins. We ordered 3 dishes each. The two fried rice and my Eshan eggplant came out in a reasonable amount of time. We waited an hour for the other dishes so our mains had gone cold. We asked three waiters about our mains. One waiter told us it was because we didn't order when we first arrived that it took so long. That doesn't make sense since all of our dishes were ordered at the same time and we got half of them over an hour ago. We think they forgot about them, but gave us a lame excuse instead. It was an hour 15 mins before we got the rest of our meals, so then our rice and eggplant was taken away and reheated! By the time we finally got all of our meals, we needed to leave as we had tickets to a show. The salt and pepper eggplant was disappointing. I had always loved it here. It was way spicer than normal and not cooked very well. The Eshan eggplant was missing the lotus root. The funny thing is that the sign on each table states meal seatings are only 1 hour and 15 mins, yet we waited that long just to get our dishes and no apology, like it was our fault. The food and service has definitely gone down hill since last time I went there.

Being new to Adelaide, we were exploring food options in Chinatown. Chanced upon Ying Chow, and after reading the positive review by MasterChef Poh posted on the shopfront, we decided to give it a shot. Firstly, service was slow. Waited 30 mins for the food. Secondly, their "unique recipe" taste is nothing unique at all. Ying Chow Red Vinegar Ribs was a letdown. (Note the menu description: ribs are diced, cooked with a red vinegar sauce from a unique recipe) The primary issue was the misleading description in the menu -- "ribs are diced...". See photo attached: does this look like diced rib? There was barely any meat on those ribs and the meat stuck to the bones like jerky. It's as if the ribs were cooked more than once and freshness was compromised. It was not easy getting those jerky off the bone even with a fork and knife. Thirdly, staff is rude. When asked, a staff member named "Wing" said it's not diced because ribs can never be diced. Responding to my feedback that the misleading menu should be corrected, she (Wing) said "People who regularly come here, would know". Clearly they don't welcome new customers. We are definitely not going back.

Love ordering uber eats from here - even better in person! No where else like it, and absolutely the best. Call and book ahead. Our favourites include salt & pepper tofu, e-shand prawns and coriander chicken. What will your favourite be?

I hate to think there is any discrimination towards customers based on their looks. But I have to make the effort to leave a Google Review to express my feelings and bad experiences from this restaurant. My friend and I didn’t make any reservations but were trying to see if there are any tables available so we walked in and asked. At two occasions, we got both rejected by the man behind the bar for no reason. And there were no explanations or even words at all. It almost feels like ‘I don’t even wanna talk to you.’ The first rejection I thought maybe coz we didn’t make reservations and they might need that table soon after, because we can see the customers were just leaving and the waiters are about to clean that table. But for the second time we were there, there were at least 2 available tables, and there were no one waiting by the door besides us two. And again there is no apology or reason. Not sure why we were not welcomed.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Adelaide. Have been going there for years, always consistently good - run by smart Chinese who know about good customer service. Simple, no fuss, no attitude, & so reasonably priced. Love it. The favourites are the Shallot Pancakes to start with. Deep fried shredded beef is sweet & crispy - so moreish. BBC = Broad bean, Bean curd & Chinese chutney - my absolute FAVE - can’t get enough of this one. Granny's Bean Curd Clay Pot With beef mince has a nice gentle chilli kick. Salt & Pepper Squid on this occasion was a tad average - unusually so. But overall, the meal was a total feast enjoyed by the family. Can’t wait to go back.

Third time back to this restaurant on work trips to Adelaide. Have eaten dine in and takeaway, and always lovely, friendly service. Their salt and pepper tofu (bean curd) is great. If you order takeaway, they cut a corner of the takeaway container lid off to prevent humidity and softening of the crispy/crunchy outer layer of the tofu. Nice balance between spring onion and chilli in this dish. I think the vegetarian su roll is slightly better dining in for freshness but is still good for takeaway. Not greasy. Great options that are not run of the mill suburban options to cater for non-authentic preferences. Awesome prices. Will come back. Book a table ahead too. Max dining time is 75 minutes.

Chinese restuarant in china town on Gouger street, Adelaide. Food is delicious, prices are reasonable and decor is clean and presentable. Parking on Gouger street and surrounding areas is always a problem, But the parking at.the Central Market Car Park has several thousands available 24/7. This restuarant is always popular but seating is limited to about 35 inside and 15 outside. Open to late/early morning. Cons: On this visit the staff were very attentive and proffessional other times we have experienced dismal service every time its impossible to know if you will enjoy great or poor service. Recommendation: on a friday and saturday night best to book otherwise be prepared to wait in a long line to get in. Rating: 8/10 for food 5/10 for service.

I sorry to give 2 stars as review to this restaurant. Normally I don’t give any bad review on any restaurant as I am also a chef in Asian cuisine restaurant but this restaurant is really over my limit. First I order seafood tofu soup, the seafood inside the soup smaller than my snails. Second, 回锅肉 inside just got few dried “ bacon” really taste like bacon but the meat should taste like pork belly. And this dishes, vege and onion is more than the meat which I pay 17 dollars to this meal. Third, Mapoh Toufu pot. Totally wth standard, I understand the chef will change the flavour become less spicy or sweet due to local people flavour but this is just taste terrible.

  • Andrej Wojciechowski

Sorry Ying chow, but this was our first visit to Ying chow, normally we are kychow regulars… but was told we needed to come to Ying chow. Sorry but I will never go again. The chefs special red vinegar ribs were average at best, and the shredded deep fried beef was like eating unflavoured dry beef, it was awful and we left most of it on the plate. XO beans were just ok, salt and pepper eggplant the highlight. But overall…I was extremely surprised that such an established gouger street Chinese name was so underwhelming. Never again!

This was once the premier food for Chinese food in Adelaide. Since then it's changed for the bad then for the good and now a bit for the above average. The food is once again quite good, the service has improved buy only slightly better. I feel the prices have gone up and the serving sizes have gone down. The quality does appear to have gone up. They are considered as one of the most authentic Asian restaurants. The range of food for an Asian place is limited but still on par with most other restaurants. They change their specials allot and you have to search the walls to find them. Highly recommend you book on weekends. But they are open till late

A nice Chinese restaurant I tried at the Adelaide Chinatown. Initially I was concerned that they would serve the westernised concept of Chinese Asian food. However, when I got into the restaurant and heard some of the staff speaking in Cantonese, my hopes started to rise. We had the hot and sour soup, sweet corn soup, chicken with cashew nuts and stir fried vegetables with garlic. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried the food. Servings are large and I am glad to say they passed the taste test. Could be better, but hey, Adelaide! Overall, I would recommend the place. Friendly staff, tasty food plus they open late! Thanks for the experience.

This is a regular eating place for me and my boyfriend. The cheap but tasty food and quick service is great. I'll admit the staff may not appear happy the majority of the time and the order of your food might be a bit jumbled, but Ying Chows isnt a place to gofor a 5 star asian meal and top quality service. its great when its late at night, you're craving some chinese food and flavor and you want your food fast. Shallot Pancakes are brilliant and so is the Chicken and Mushroom Claypot and Eshand Beef. We always go back at least once a week and take the food as it comes and enjoy each others company. A favourite place to eat, I always go back.

We are long term fans of Ying Chow and usually love the vibrant, authentic no-frills atmosphere. Gouger St offers so many choices of eateries so to survive this long, cafes must deliver. You will notice the menu stuck up on large paper sheets around the walls. There is the Chinese version and the English options. The waiters are a bit hit and miss with service and recommendations of what to choose. Sadly, we have noticed of late that Asian customers get served quicker, and get bigger and better meals than other customers. Let's hope this is just a blip on an otherwise wonderful tradition at Ying Chow.

Good food We had a really enjoyable dinner with friends at this Adelaide institution. The food is tasty, the portions are good and the prices reasonable. BYO is $5 per person. Even though it was busy, the food came out quickly. 18 April 2021 Terrific Food This popular restaurant in Adelaide's Chinatown is just terrific! The food we ordered was delicious, the staff were friendly and the prices were reasonable. BYO is a plus. Make a booking or be prepared for a wait!

Late night dinners @yingchowchineserestaurant pictured here are some of my favourites go-to dishes. It’s a casual and friendly place with tasty Chinese food and decent sized portions. The staff are super friendly and menu prices vary which is good because you could name this place as either a “cheap eats” or ya regular Chinese restaurant if that makes any sense. I always opt for this place when I’m feeling like wholesome Asian food or it’s late & haven’t had dinner yet! @deelycious_

Second visit here. Ordered a hot and sour soup with chicken (repeated twice) and was served with seafood instead. The waiter was in a hurry and on enquiring about it, he claimed that I didn't ask for chicken specifically and I will have to order another one. Next time I'll be sure to repeat chicken 10 times like a bot till he feels odd about it. I've had authentic chinese food but this one's just pricey disappointing food. Poor service and unpleasant dinner on a whole new level. Save your cash and try elsewhere in Chinatown. 10/10 wouldn't recommend.

Wow! I'm absolutely blown away. I'm from Sydney and I'm sad to say we don't have anything this good there. The tea duck and red ribs are an absolute must! Price is cheap, taste is good, food comes out fast and it's open late. What more could you want. I see some people complaining about the service, from what I could see, the wait staff were hard workers that barely stopped moving. Maybe they aren't super friendly but they get the job done, I don't see the problem. If you want to be smiled at and have your ego strokes go to africila or something.

  • Brenda Mau

The best! Just the best! I had 2 serves of the shallot pancakes just on my own. The smoke tea duck is succulent and to die for, the queue time was long on a sat night but we didn't know that we could book ahead, we just saw the queue outside the door so we joined in, and it was worth the wait! The crocodile meat on hot plate was tender and juicy and taste fantastic. We also had the venison with snow peas and its another delightful dish on hot plate. Pity we had to leave Adelaide the next night otherwise we would have been back!

My favourite Chinese restaurants in Adelaide. I always get the Salted Fish Eggplant with a bowl of rice. It's not on the menu book, it's on the wall. However all other dishes have been delicious when I tried them but I stick to what I love. Fast and friendly service. Reasonable prices. Conveniently centrally located in the city. Can get busy at night so prepare to wait for a table for a group.

Ying Chow Chinese Restaurant is a must-visit spot for anyone in the mood for delicious Chinese classics. The restaurant is in a busy area, with outdoor tables available for those who want to enjoy their meal al fresco. The Salt and Pepper Tofu is particularly noteworthy - it's crispy on the outside and perfectly seasoned with a great balance of salt and pepper. I highly recommend giving it a try. Overall, the food at Ying Chow is consistently delicious and the service is always friendly and attentive.

Friendly and helpful staff, exceptional food, great and super fast service. Your meal doesn't always come out in order of entree before mains but the quality of food and service definitely makes up for this little gem. A must try and highly recommend.

I cant believe how good is this restaurant is!!!! I have no words to explain how tasty the food is. I tried the salted eggplants and it’s amazing, if you are a eggplant lover you should try it here. Overall a thoroughly disappointing experience. Got a variety of dishes stand by dishes from the menu such as fried dim sum and crispy skin chicken which were all the worst carnations of the meals we had ever eaten. Beyond that the 'steamed duck with salty sauce' was without a doubt the worst meal I have ever been served in a restaurant, a unbelievably grey, unappetising piece of meat that was as extremely tough with an extremely unpleasant flavour.

  • Mike Rattana

We always eat here, especially late nights with friends. Typically very busy with great food, highly recommend the Tofu with Minced Pork Stir Fry, Tea Smoked Duck, Bok Choy with Garlic, and Steamed Oysters with Ginger & Shallots. Must try if you are in Chinatown Adelaide and craving for some quick and delicious Chinese food. Best to book in advance rather than walk-in.

Reasonable but average Chinese restaurant. The salt and pepper prawns dish was so so, and questionable value for money. Likewise with the Fried Chinese rice, which is somewhat generous with rice, but not much in the way of meats etc. May try other restaurans in this mainly chinese restaurans area before returning to this one. Can be busy at peak times.

Twice found seriously 'foreign material' in food. Cigarette butt and stones. And you would be correct in asking..."why did you return?" Because the food is quick and yummy. However, now, I have not returned in over 15years and cannot believe people keep going there. Miserable aggressive staff too particularly the owner. Much better across road at East Taste.

Located in the heart of Chinatown, there’s plenty of options around, the reviews on google sold us. Food came out really quickly and was made with high quality. We came in without booking and they moved tables around for us, shortly after it started to get packed to the point that they had to turn people away. Glad I got to try this place on my work trip to Adelaide. Highly recommend.

The restaurant is located near the China town in a vibrant busy dinning area. The staff were friendly and the service was ok but can be improved. The decor is a bit dated and old. The dishes were ok and slightly above average. Most of them tasted the same maybe because of using same sauce or spices. The price is a bit too high for the quality of the dishes.

One of the best things about Adelaide beyond everything else that is great here. Not many places can offer BBC shallot pancake and tea smoked duck. I am yet to find any other restaurant in Brisbane where I live that serves BBC. It’s incredible. Good wine list. Be prepared to move tables if you book. But who cares if you do. It’s the experience that counts and it’s the food that matters.

  • Uraz (uraz)

Ying Chow is the best Chinese restaurant in town if not in Australia, the springrolls are crispy and had something I can’t quite put my finger on it that makes it super special. I love the onion pancakes and the smoke tea suck is succulent and to die for!! Totally worth the wait in line time. Whenever I am back in Adelaide I will be going back there for sure.

  • Rachel Swift

Food is yummy and authentic. It is very cheap and cheerful and they don’t partner with a delivery service which is a pain as pick up is challenging due to lack of parking. Sensational vegetarian options and really Devine flavors. Used to be far cheaper but prices have increased. It’s still my must have meal when I’m out of Adelaide for a long time and then return.

  • Adam Newton2

Very poor service. Just snatched credit card and paypassed but I wanted to use savings, didn't even ask. Food was bad. We ordered salt and pepper egg plant which was like garlic battered coating, overheard another table complaining that it wasn't salt and pepper at all as well. The shredded beef had no flavor at all. Not sure why this place is always busy.

Great restaurant in Adelaide's CBD and located around the Chinatown sector of the city. a must visit for classic Chinese dishes and a very popular location - worth booking ahead if you don't want to wait hours for a table. Very popular with young crowds, lots of BYO happening for the young crowds heading out for the night. Recommend the tea smoked duck

  • Gayatri

This place has exceptionally tasty food. I am not a fond of Chinese food but as no other restaurant was open at 11 in the night, we went to this place. We ordered veg fried rice and stir fried chicken. Both these dishes were super yummy and value for the money. This place is usually busy but the staff does pay attention to each and every customer :-)

This place rocks. The food is great, its very noisy and busy as anything. Looks crappy from the outside but do yourself a favour and get in here. Book! They turned away a mountain of walkins. There is an expensive place a few meters down from thia place and the food here was miles in front. My guest all thought so as well. Try the BBC, it's great.

Had planned my Dad and a Japanese engineer come over for a good dinner booked at 7:20pm, we came over at 7:18 and got told to wait as the table wasn’t ready. Then at 7:27 we were still waiting for the table and got told that the diners hadn’t finished and was told to wait outside. We just walked out, not coming back ever again. Rude.

This place open till 1 AM at midnight. I like this fact as more of restaurants at adelaide close by 9 PM. I worked at evening so this place is a life saver for hungry people like me who works at night. The foods are very cheap too and tasty also. It's a good place for students. You can have mouth full of food at very cheap rate.

This is an Adelaide institution and rightly so. No fan-fare, simply great food. Even on a Monday night expect to be turned away if you haven't made a booking. The tea smoked duck, red pepper prawns, salt & pepper tofu and BBC are non-negotiable when I visit. Consistently fantastic!

If you're hungry late at night in Adelaide City and you want a quick but delicious fix, this is THE place to go to. They serve simple yet nice Chinese food quite quickly. Be careful to remember to pay for the parking behind the establishment via a smartphone application. The parking facility is owned by another establishment.

One of my favourite Chinese restaurants. Staff is fantastic and food is delicious. Serving speed, portion sizes and prices are great. Just waited 25 minutes for a table, got told it was 10-15 mins. Waited with mum and dad and just wanted a decent meal as I'm visiting for a few short days (but I grew up here). We left hungry and frustrated because another group came along and got given a table that was just vacated out front. Bad customer service! :/

  • lei fani

Absolutely love the smoked tea duck and the spring onion pancakes. We love the spring rolls so much we ordered another serve to take away after dinner and ate them on the way to the car. It's crowded and loud but it's part of the charm. Wine list very reasonable priced. Definitely recommended and will be back again!

Great food and great service! We ordered the Premium Tea Duck and Shallots Pancakes. The Premium Tea Duck smells like Bakwa (Chinese pork flat jerky), sadly, it not as tasty as Bakwa. Regardless, still a very good duck. Staff and owner are super friendly. Will definitely go back if we visit Adelaide in another time.

Ive been going to Ying Chow for more years than I would care to admit here. The BBC is the best you will find in Adelaide. Other winners include the chicken with salty coriander, eshan beef and salt and pepper squid. Is it busy- yes, is it noisy - yes, but it's also great value for money and flavour filled cuisine.

  • Greg Pearce

Traditional fantastic chinese food, always full of westerner foodies, lines outside, did not disappionted, great smoke tea duck, spring rolls, onion pancakes, my friends love it too and tried the duck tounges. The croc meat on hot plate was delicious. Prices are reasonable and way cheaper than Melbourne. Love it!

  • Joshua Lee

A very classic Chinese restaurant with great dishes. We came here hearing about the duck and it did not disappoint! The duck was crispy on the outside and had a great flavour to its flesh. I believe it very good value as my partner and I had a very good fill. Highly recommend coming here to eat the duck.

Gave me nostalgia for hong kong ... beef congee was typically hk style but not enough meat. Salt and pepper squid was abit oily and bland. The fried rice noodles with seafood in egg sauce had the flavor but missed the the burnt wok essence. Otherwise, enjoyed the food and environment. Made me miss HK...

Ying Chow is one of the best Chinese restaurants around Gouger St, I recommend the spring onion pancakes and crispy beef. They're super busy sometimes so be prepared to wait for a bit, but it'll be worth it. No separate accounts so be ready with cash or a designated friend in charge of the bill …

  • Lai Fong Yap

Food was below average. I came here because Poh, the TV show hostess, kept on recommending this restaurant. Tea smoked duck was overcooked, dry and bland. Claypot eggplant tasted like sweet and sour eggplant. Worst was the salt and pepper white bait which was just dry and overcooked as well.

  • Michelle

Definitely up there with my fav restaurants in little old Adelaide. Food is traditional enough for me and my family. The service was great and priced very reasonably, so you can try many dishes. There is also good atmosphere and nice other patrons, so good environment for all to enjoy.

  • Raff Siavashi

fast service and good food. I was there on a relatively busy night and although the staff were friendly but they were a bit rushed to take the dishes and stuff while we were kinda still eating, which is understandable on a busy night but nevertheless it's a negative. reasonable prices.

  • Mars Cuts

Always good, never disappoints. BBC is still one of my favorites. Ideal to pre book ahead as very busy. It's a quick and fast type of place. The interior is very simple and dated but because the meals are so good you certainly won't care.

Arrived to Adelaide from long drive. We had no reservations but they tried to accomodate us. We just needed to wait for 5 mins outside and then we got the table. The taste of the food was light and great. It’s on my taste! I love it. The service was amazing as well. Very recommended!

  • Mon Bon

This used to be good, but it has gone downhill and I've been dissapointed each time I've been. The crispy beef had no flavour whatsoever. Eshand chicken can comfortably be renamed eshand onion as it was 90% onion. Portions are on the smaller side especially when considering price.

  • Thomas Chan

It is a very good Chinese restaurant. They always managed to produce the same standard everytime. The service is friendly. I and my family always feel comfortable to eat there. Brian knows his clients well. Make sure you make a booking before you go. You won't be disappointed.

  • daniela vaselli

The worst satay scewers/with no dressing, and spring rolls w/no sweet and sour sauce i have ever tried, they were not even edible, THEY WERE COLD AND TOOK 15 minutes TO COOK. I would never return to this place nor recomend it, I am absolutly appauled with the service.

  • April Ha

I tried here twice and both times food was bad. Vegetarian clay pot just tasted like some boiled vegies and hot water, rice was still raw and chicken was very dry. Spoke to waiter but she said whole batch of rice was the same. Guess I won't bother trying here again!

  • maxwell brown

On a date with someone I just met I haven’t even eaten yet but I got 1 litre of wine for 18 dollars . Foods probably really good. Really good hospitality and workers seem happy and enthusiastic. Good communication. Telling my wife and kids about this place !

read the reviews and decided to give this place a try but was super disappointed with the food... had the fried rice and deep fried shredded beef because read they were good - both lacked flavour, blandest chinese ever. would definitely not recommend.

  • Jack Wee

Service sometimes is poor but the food makes up for it, the bbc, eshang chicken and red vinegar ribs have kept me coming back for years. The atmosphere being frantic and crammed feels like you are in a American shoot movie but nothing quite like it

  • Melissa Thayer

Had a lovely dinner here last night! We ordered the dumpling soup which was incredible (highly recommend), mixed veggies, roast duck and the flounder. Everything was excellent! The fish took a bit longer to come out but definitely worth the wait!

  • Kim Ngan Nguyen

Open till midnight and until 2 or 3 am at Fridays and Saturdays. Crowded at nights sometimes needed to wait for the table. Good place at Chinatown to have late dinner or really early breakfast, or just refill your stomach after a crazy night out.

  • William Thomas

We dined in and ate authentic tasty Chinese cuisine. Seafood congee & beef with mixed vegetables were delicious.

Just love eating here. The sauces are so delicate and my son has a serious addiction for the shallot cakes which are made even better with the sauce. The staff are so friendly and efficient.

Customer service was amazing, very warm and welcoming! Even though they were very busy on a Friday night, every staff member was smiling and friendly and then thanked us for supporting them during this time! Food was fresh and tasty …

It is beyond the tasty food. Very very friendly staff, always smiling and helping if you have a baby. My husband has been going there from almost 7 years ago. Thank YOU for your best service.

We had dinner 18 April. We had a booking and we were warmly greeted. Very prompt table service. Delicious, clean food along with acceptable prices. Maggie, husband and team run a well oiled business. Thank you! Thoroughly recommend..☆▪︎☆

Good Chinese food at reasonable prices. Bit on the salty side and you’ll need a bottle of water by your bed at 2am - but Yingers is an Adelaide institution it certainly deserves a visit.

Great food, excellent service, always busy so make a booking. Didn’t see congee on the menu last time though so that was a bit disappointing but other than that great food. Highly recommend it for some quick Chinese food that’s cheap

A must try Chinese restaurant. Check out their chef recommendation dishes such as vinegar pork ribs, long beans with XO sauce. Some dishes must be ordered at least a day before. Reservation is highly recommended. Great fast service.

Terrific cheap and cheerful place for lunch or dinner. Tasty Chinese food. Only weekday lunch is on Friday. You need to book for that. Very inexpensive corkage which adds to the attraction, but the food is good enough anyway.

  • H Czapla

I love Ying Chow, It has been a go to favourite for my husband and myself for years and years now! Don't expect silver service or for your rice to come out with your meal, you just get everything when it comes, hot and fresh!

  • Isla Margaritis

I highly recommend this place the food is amazing and the prices are reasonable I have been going here since I was 5 and it is still my favourite restaurant so go try it and also try the salt and pepper ribs they are aleat

I had Beef with Green Onion and Shallot & Seafood Bean Curd Soup. Both were fresh ingredients and reasonably priced. They are also open until 10:45pm which is handy.

Restaurant doesn't take walkins for 2 people. Told they were booked even though they had 5 empty tables and then when walked past again saw owner asking a guy "how many" and took the walk in booking for 6. Poor form!

  • Adrian van Nunen

An Adelaide icon. Well located and reasonably priced, attentive staff, great food. Always busy but waiting for a table is never very long even for relatively large groups. It's where we always go after a performance.

  • Brandon Passow

Ive been here four times and the food is great and consistent. Scallion pancake, red vinegar ribs, and tea smoked duck are the bomb. Great service. Clean bathrooms. Cannot recommend highly enough. Get amongst it!

  • Aashish Joshi

Not much options for vegetarian in menu. But, they made special vegetarian item for me which I like most. Thanks for that. Quick, friendly staffs. Small space on the front. I liked the place. Going in the future.

  • Iyvennn Wong

This little restaurant has been there like forever. It’s still my favourite restaurant to have the stew beef dish. They made it the best in Adelaide. I would highly recommend you to try if you are a beef lover!

  • Hayley Ball

I have been going to this restaurant for 18 years. The food never fails to please. Vegetarian options are amazing. Shallot cake, salt and pepper tofu/eggplant, Broad beans and chutney and the chilli beans mmm.

  • Brodie Lynch

Tasty, fresh, well priced meals with good service. Worth popping in if you have a hankering for Chinese. The vegetarian spring rolls are delicious. Good vegetarian offerings on the menu. They also offer BYO.

  • Wahyu Nareswara
