I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Mumbai Zoo, also known as Veermata Jijabai Udyan, and I must say it was a delightful experience! This hidden gem in the heart of Mumbai has so much to offer. First off, getting to the zoo was a breeze. It's conveniently located in Byculla and easily accessible by public transportation. As I entered the zoo, I was impressed by its well-maintained and clean surroundings. The staff does an excellent job of keeping everything in order. Now, let's talk about the real stars of the show—the diverse range of animals. While I didn't have the chance to see lions during my visit, the zoo is home to a variety of fascinating creatures. From playful monkeys to colorful birds and mesmerizing reptiles, there's no shortage of wildlife to admire and learn about. The enclosures are designed with the animals' well-being in mind, providing them with spacious areas and natural environments. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to witness the feeding sessions. The zookeepers are passionate and knowledgeable, and they shared interesting insights about the animals' behaviors and dietary habits. It was a joy to observe the animals up close and see their interactions during mealtime. I was also impressed by the zoo's commitment to conservation and education. Throughout the premises, there are informative signboards and displays that provide valuable information about wildlife conservation efforts. It's heartening to see the zoo's dedication to raising awareness among visitors about the importance of protecting and preserving our natural world. In terms of cleanliness and maintenance, the Mumbai Zoo excels. The pathways are clean and well-kept, making it easy to navigate through the zoo. There are plenty of seating areas and shaded spots where you can take a break, relax, and appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. While it's disappointing that lions are not currently present at the Mumbai Zoo, I am excited to learn that they are planned for the future. The addition of lions will further enhance the zoo's diversity and provide visitors with an even more captivating experience. All in all, the Mumbai Zoo, or Veermata Jijabai Udyan, offers a delightful outing for people of all ages. With its well-maintained facilities, diverse animal collection, and focus on conservation, it provides an educational and enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend a visit to the Mumbai Zoo for anyone interested in exploring the wonders of wildlife. Please note that this review is based on my visit up until September 2021. A very nice place for friends and family.. the 3 section are amazing.. 1. Crocodile 2. Penguin & 3. Water Birds.. gotta see and learn lots of things.. A must visit place in Mumbai.. Ticket are 100 for family which includes parents and 2 children, and for single its 50 for Adult and 25 for Children.

Buy tickets online. Try visiting at 10 AM. You can see the animals fresh and out of their cages. Do not carry disposable plastic bottles or eatables. Tiger enclosure and crocodile enclosure are worth visit. Cafeteria near Penguins is clean. Food tasty and low priced. Wednesday closed.

It was an inquisitive experience at the zoo. The only animals which were not there at the zoo and were awaited were wolf and lion. All the other animals shown in the map at the zoo were present.

They should keep more animals The place is big but animals are less so many people visit a day they have so much amount to be paid and to maintain the zoo

Not having much animals . Can be visited easily in 2 hours. Easy to book tickets and located at walking distance from Byculla Suburban railway station
